INVENTORY OF CROSSROAD L AYERS ENVIRONMENT:
CHARACTERISTICS OF AFFECTED CROSSROADS
$ MEDELLテ君 - COLOMBIA
Most of these crossroads are located in the wealthiest area of the city.
These activities are regulated by long time traffic lights.
These activities are spatialized by the zebra crossing.
The slope of the road in relation to the traffic direction creates a situation in which the roas itself acts as an amphitheater.
PROJECT ACTIONS
Redefining the geometr y of the zebra crossing so that it mixes its official and unofficial uses and becomes an urban stage regulated by the traffic light.
Designing an inflated tent suspended over the crossroad equipped with an LED system for info and stage light display and photovoltaic cells for energy production.

MOBILIT Y IMPROVEMENT The project proposes a road section in which pedestrians, cyclists and drivers can coexist in a proper way. Initially this section is to be applied on the roads affected by the inter ventions and later this will spread through the flat roads of the city. PROJECT’S PROPOSAL FOR ROAD SECTION

ENERGETIC COST RELIEF While Medellín is gradually changing its traffic lights to LED system, the project’s influence area of energy supply increases in relation to this transformation covering the energetic cost of the traffic lights in the citywhen the change is complete.
19 RED LIGHT CIRCUS INTERVENTIONS ARE NEEDED TO RELIEF THE CITY´S ENERGETIC COST IN TRAFFIC LIGHTS
