Grooves & the Present Moment from the Editor

by Tim Miejan It was the early 1970s and we were living in Portland, Ore. I was 11 years old in the sixth grade, and bell bottoms were in vogue and so, too, was rock ’n’ roll. During breaks in my sixth-grade class, we’d sit around a table, plug a headphone into a turntable and listen to an album brought from home. That’s where I first heard Iron Butterfly’s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. At home, an old turquoise-and-white AM radio sat next to my bed, and I often fell asleep listening to Neil Young’s plaintive “Heart of Gold,” and America’s “Horse with No Name.” That was when I bought my first record album — James Gang Rides Again, the breakthrough album by the band led by future Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh — and I listened to it over and over again. Music had so captivated us, the younger generation, that our school sent notes home to our parents in response to the second-most popular song in 1972, “Alone Again (Naturally)” by Gilbert O’Sullivan. The concern was that the melancholy tune would affect us adversely. Parents were urged to watch us for signs of depression. Ritual grooves

By the time I was in high school, I couldn’t wait to get home with a new album I had purchased so I could sit down and devour it: listening to the groove powered by my Sansui receiver; appreciating the cover art design; and reading more about the recording in the liner notes. Listening to music was pure ritual, and it was a bond that my close friends and I shared — and it sustained me for many years, until something else — parenting — took its place. Packed and unpacked

In October 1995 I sold all but about 200 albums, packed up my stereo and moved to Minnesota, where I kept said albums and stereo in boxes for years. In 2010, when my wife and I sold our split-level home in Woodbury, I also sold my turntable, amp and speakers in a garage sale. Since then, we have moved three times. packed and unpacked, recycled and donated. Now our belongings fit comfortably in our twobedroom duplex — and we are finally relaxing into what appears to be a new normal. It feels like taking a breath of fresh air for the first time. Love for music

The simple truth is that my love for music was never packed away; like everyone else, I just changed how I listened to it. Record albums were replaced by CDs, and CDs were replaced by “the cloud,” and shorter attention spans focused on songs, not albums. I found myself listening almost exclusively on my computer, and music often only served as background embellishment while I worked. Fortunately, life has a way of circling around again. I now meditate daily and find value in being present, and I am looking forward to taking the time to truly devour music again — the slow way, listening to one album side at a time, with no distractions. I am putting a new stereo together again with the help of craigslist and eBay, and my record albums are unpacked. I began alphabetizing them last night, remembering a little something about every record in my collection. In this crazy time of change, let’s all slow down and take the time to truly listen, for in the grooves are melodies that stir the soul. a Tim Miejan is editor and co-publisher of The Edge. Immersion in the DNA Field with Dr. Todd During the past decade, Dr. Todd Ovokaitys has evolved his understanding of DNA and sound to the point of developing the Pineal Tones™ sound technique, which plays an integral role in his teachings on DNA and epigenetics. He will present a workshop, “Immersion in the DNA Field: a Pineal Tones Rehearsal Seminar,” featuring the sound technique of Pineal Tones™ on April 2 & 3 at The Holiday Inn Bloomington Airport South, 1201 W. 94th St., Bloomington, Minn. Since Watson and Crick discovered the three-dimensional structure of DNA, the double helix has become a cultural icon. Three generations hence, our understanding of this molecule continues to grow. And with every step of learning, so builds our potential to overcome the apparent limitations of our biology. While DNA is a linear information code, or a blueprint, living DNA emanates electromagnetic fields as part of its deep functional construct. The discovery that human DNA is actually a closed loop, and that its central core is superconducting, gives the DNA coil antenna-like attributes with a capacity to transmit and receive information through vibrational fields and EM switches. Dr. Todd teaches that the state of DNA and how it is working for you can be enhanced and shifted through natural chemistry, through codes delivered through light and through patterns of tonal sounds. Recent work in the area of epigenetics shows that changes in how we eat, meditate or even think can flip internal switches and change the expression of the code. This change is so powerful it can be transmitted to our offspring. Participants in this workshop will be taken though a journey of images and geometry to understand the core patterns. Dr. Todd will teach how you can shift your mind and lifestyle to enhance the expression of your personal code. Patterns of nutrition, advanced light technologies, and the science of sound will also be shared as tools to your optimum self-expression. A method known as the Pineal Toning Technique will be shared, allowing participants to produce 

If we need guidance on how to remain on a spiritual path while at the same time engaging with the nitty-gritty of the political arena, we can also consult the work of those who’ve done so quite successfully, for example, Mahatma Gandhi, or currently, the Dalai Lama. a — Lisa Wersal, Vadnais Heights, MN

Dr. Todd Ovokaitys sound that influences DNA positively. Creating deep, altered states, the tones can be sung individually or in pairs. Biological studies in plants have shown that the beneficial effects of these patterns reach and even exceed the effects of playing Mozart. Through an immersion in information and experience, the program is intended to enhance the understanding and access to one’s quantum self at a much deeper level. This workshop is a direct transmission of frequencies or DNA sound codes, of which there are 33 now, and gifting you with accelerated spiritual growth. Dr. Todd has long been known as a researcher leading the evolution of medical science by followers of Kryon, an angelic entity channeled for 20 years by internationally renowned author Lee Carroll. Kryon revealed that in ancient times, Dr. Todd was a scientist who built Temples of Rejuvenation. “The recent stunning revelations in his lab now give insights into how and why the ancient technology was effective — and how to make it even better,” Carroll says. “Most of you know my strong connection with the work of Dr. Todd. Recent Kryon channels have focused on our

potential for longevity that hearkens to biblical times. Kryon has touched upon the mechanism of how this may work, and be derived from our own person. This is more than theory, as it describes Todd’s latest work from his laboratory, proving out Kryon’s principles. I get excited to watch the validation at work! “It will be some time before Todd can offer this information in the public domain,” Carroll says. “There are scientific protocols to honor, and international rules to follow. Nonetheless, for those of you who may like to attend one of his workshops, you can hear Dr. Todd share the essence of what the discoveries are, and the implications for your own rejuvenation and longevity enhancement. Your individual health issues addressed along with activation of our dormant DNA through sound, is just part of the two-day weekend. “This is a brand new phase of discovery that we haven’t seen before. Dr. Todd will be sharing the historical best results that he has recently achieved with reversing otherwise end-stage health conditions in international research activities. Imagine double-blind studies where 40 percent of the patients were taken off of the list of heart transplant candidates! They achieved a vastly higher quality of life (not to mention not dying). In addition to age reversal strategies, Dr. Todd will reveal new methods of enhancing human cognitive and other abilities. Part is metabolic, part is emotional, and part is vibrational. Honest! Youthing is really starting to happen!” To learn more about Dr. Todd’s work, visit www. pinealtones.com. Dr. Edgar Dean “Ed” Mitchell — an American naval officer and aviator, test pilot, aeronautical engineer, ufologist and NASA astronaut, died under hospice care in West Palm Beach, Fla., on February 4, 2016, at the age of 85. As the lunar module pilot of Apollo 14, he spent nine hours working on the lunar surface in the Fra Mauro Highlands region, making him the sixth person to walk on the Moon. For two days, February 5 and 6, 1971, Dr. Mitchell and Alan Shepard deployed and activated scientific equipment and experiments on the lunar surface. They collected almost 100 pounds of lunar samples for return to Earth. Apollo 14 was the longest walk performed by astronauts on the lunar surface. Dr. Mitchell told reporters that he had experienced an “epiphany” in space and returned with “an overwhelming sense of oneness, of connectedness.” Years later in his autobiography, he wrote, “It occurred to me that the molecules of my body and the molecules of the spacecraft itself were manufactured long ago in the furnace of one of the ancient stars that burned in the heavens about me.” In 1972, Dr. Mitchell retired from NASA and the U.S. Navy and in 1973 he created the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which aimed to support “individual and collective transformation through consciousness research.” In 1974, he described his lunar epiphany to the New York Times: “It was a sense of the Earth being in critical condition, a recognition of the massive insanity which had led man into deeper and deeper crises on the planet. Above all, I felt the need for a radical change in our culture. I knew we were replete with untapped intuitive and psychic forces which we must utilize if we were to survive, forces that Western society had programmed us to disregard.” Dr. Mitchell’s book, The Way of the Explorer, discusses his journey into mysticism and space. Dr. Mitchell was born on September 17, 1930, in Hereford, Texas. Mitchell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1952. The following year he joined the U.S. Navy, and completed basic training at San Diego Recruit Depot. While on active duty in the Navy, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in 1961, and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1964.   Dr. Mitchell was selected to be an astronaut in 1966 and was seconded from the Navy to NASA. He was designated as backup Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 10. He was named as a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1970 by President Richard Nixon.   He publicly expressed his opinions that he was “90 percent sure that many of the thousands of unidentified flying objects, or UFOs, recorded

since the 1940s, belong to visitors from other planets.” Dateline NBC conducted an interview with Dr. Mitchell on April 19, 1996, during which he discussed meeting with officials from three countries who claimed to have had personal encounters with Dr. Edgar Mitchell extraterrestrials. He offered his opinion that the evidence for such “alien” contact was “very strong” and “classified” by governments, who were covering up visitations and the existence of alien beings’ bodies in places such as Roswell, N.M. He further claimed that UFOs had provided “sonic engineering secrets” that were helpful to the U.S. government. The following is a reaction to Dr. Mitchell’s death by Steven M. Greer, M.D., a retired medical doctor who founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence and The Disclosure Project, which seeks the disclosure of suppressed UFO information: “I invited him (Edgar Mitchell) to the original Project Starlight gathering of UFO military and government witnesses in 1995 at Asilomar, Monterey, Calif. I remember him asking me, ‘My God Steve, do you know what you are taking on?’ And I said, “Yes, I’m afraid I do.” And he replied, ‘Well, we have to just go forward, put one foot in front of the next, and never look back….’ And so we have. “Later I brought him to the briefings for members of Congress, White House officials and others in 1997 in Washington, D.C. There he heard more top-secret testimony that UFOs were in fact real, and the secrecy was extreme. The day after, I invited him to join me at the Pentagon. “I had been asked to brief J2 — the Director of Intelligence of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Tom Wilson. From these and other meetings he learned that the compartments running ET and UFO projects were indeed Unacknowledged — rogue, illegal — lying even to this Admiral and the President. For it was made clear during this meeting that even the Admiral was pointedly blocked from accessing UFO-related operations. This was a turning point in Dr. Mitchell’s understanding. “Subsequently, he courageously spoke out for the disclosure of the truth. He stood with us until the end. “May he go into the worlds of light in peace and love and joy. Now, the great space explorer who walked the moon will explore the infinite realms beyond space and time.” a

KEEPING IT SACRED Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather Each day I strive to maintain a connection to what is Sacred. Everything I do, everything I think, everything I say I wish to be a mirror or echo of the Higher Beings of Light. The key is in creating a clear tube through which my Guides can enter. It would seem that the task at hand is to purify, cleanse and brighten my energetic field to permit a continuously channeled existence. Every morning, with folded hands, I thank the Grandfathers I am alive. I think that’s a subtle but important acknowledgment. Others awaken to wars, loneliness, illness or desolation. I set my feet on an Eastern carpet beside a peek-through, toasty fireplace. I am grateful, and I do not take these simple realities for granted. I have a personal pot for sage made of red Catlinite purchased in Pipestone. I face West, the direction of wisdom and knowledge, and I pray. It is not a religion: I just talk to the Creator, to the Wanagis and Saints, Angels and Archangels, Spirit Helpers and Guides. I ask only for wisdom and knowledge rather than money and things. I learned this from The Red Feather Man, whose beautiful words ring now in my mind’s ear. He has said, from time to time, “I have never asked the Spirits for a single thing, and yet, they have blessed me with many things.” I try to live this way. I pray for those I have named. So far on my journey, I have named nine people. I want them to do well. We learned this from the White Buffalo Boy, to pray for those you’ve named. It’s not a rule or a law, and not everyone has to do this. It’s just something we with our free will have embraced. So I pray for highest enlightenment, health, happiness and spiritual protection for those nine. Some of them do not even speak to me anymore, but I love and regard them just the same. As far as I have heard, they are doing very well. Showering is also a conscious, spiritual pursuit. Our waters have become so polluted, so I have taken to heart Masaru Emoto’s body of work about changing the very structure of water through positive words. As I stand beneath the widening

spray, I give thanks for the mni wicosa (water of life). I speak these words over the water to help it reconfigure energetically: love, peace, beauty, truth, harmony, trust — words from Drunvalo Melchizadek’s Merkaba teachings. I speak to the water, asking it to bless me with health and happiness as it washes over me. Water is an important ally in cleansing and purifying both the physical and etheric bodies. Eating and drinking are activities I enter into consciously, as well. I offer part of my repast to the Spirits and thank them for being my friends in this lifetime. I thank all living things who gave of their bodies to nourish me. The words don’t matter: it’s the heart that counts. We just say what comes naturally. The Spirits take the essence of the food immediately. I feed them at home, in restaurants, and at times, in my car when traveling. All that’s needed is a napkin or other clean vessel when I’m on the go. At home, I keep a saged-out wooden bowl for their exclusive use. If my schedule allows, my afternoon ritual is a nap. Sleep is restorative. I don’t feel guilty or lazy about allowing mind, body, emotions and spirit to rest completely. I usually enter into a deep astral state at this time of day. I awaken feeling almost frozen in stillness. I allow myself a good ten minutes to return to reality. Then, I’m ready to tackle reading, writing, grading papers, doing laundry or any other task that compels attention. These are some of the simple practices I observe every day. Rather than recite a memorized prayer, I speak from the heart. That ensures a spontaneous bond of love and friendship between my Guides and me. After all, what are a few moments devoted to prayer, meditation or thoughtful reflection on the path of an infinite journey? a Janet Michele Red Feather, J.D., M.A., has taught literature and composition for 18 years at the university, state, tribal and community college levels. She is currently a tenured English faculty member at Normandale Community College. Janet enjoys her role as Ceremonial Singer for Native American ceremonies, singing traditional songs in Mandan and Lakota. She made a career shift into teaching after serving nearly eight years as a defense litigator in California. Her life changed significantly after she traveled to North Dakota in 1993 to fast and pray for a way of life. She welcomes correspondence at JanetRedFeather77@gmail.com. Copyright © 2016. CREATING EFFECTIVE PERSONAL RITUALS by T. Renee Richardson, D.D. In these changing, evolving times, I’ve found it essential to update my personal rituals to keep up with my own personal spiritual growth. The excitement of discovering new ways to support the passion of my life path continues to infuse every day with joy! Discerning the difference between feeling out of my comfort zone and feeling that something is just wrong for me informs my journey. Creating personal rituals that are effective for me now rather than fitting for who I was decades ago keeps me balanced. What is that feeling, when something feels right? Where does it reside in my body? I’ve found that when something makes me feel nervous but in an exciting way, not unlike stage fright, I can use that energy as an engine, to fuel, embrace and enjoy the experience. I’ve never regretted following that feeling, and it has resulted in some delightful surprises, including improv comedy!   see Rituals on p. 13

AN EMPOWERING HEALING CEREMONY Connecting to a Past Life in Egypt by Carol McCormick Many lifetimes ago, I was a young girl in a small Egyptian village who had the gift of “seeing” three days into the future. I would foretell coming visitors or a storm or a death. This frightened my parents and other villagers. They thought I was possessed by a demon that caused these things to happen. My parents took me to the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae and asked the priestesses to perform an exorcism. The High Priestess saw that my gift of prophecy, limited though it was, could be very useful in a highly charged political time. Akhenaten the Pharaoh had broken away from the traditional religion of many gods to worship Aten, the One True God. If he succeeded in getting the people to follow him, thousands of priests in the many temples throughout Egypt would be put out of work. So my parents were paid a handful of coins and told to leave me to live at the Temple of Isis. Cash cow

I was lonely growing up in the Temple without other children around me. I had little free time, because I became their cash cow. They kept me busy all hours of the day and night telling priests and rich people what would happen in the next three days. Secretly I became a follower of the new religion of Aten. And when I saw the priests plotting and then succeeding in assassinating the Pharaoh, I went to tell Akhenaten. He believed me but chose to stay and meet his fate. On the other hand, he told me to flee to take the new religion to the “new land” (perhaps Crete). He gave me a chest of precious jewels and gold to fund my travel and work. Before leaving, I worshipped with Akhenaten and his family in their magnificent temple. It made my heart sing. The memory of it sustained me through many lonely years when I was a stranger in a strange land, learning a new language and new customs. Spies were present throughout Akhenaten’s palace. So it was no surprise when armed men came to the dock to keep me from boarding the foreign-bound ship. A dear friend fought them off but lost his life to insure that I got safely up the gangplank.   see Egypt on p. 14 12  www.edgemagazine.net

transformation THROUGH INNER ALCHEMY by Katherine Parker What does it take to master inner alchemy, to turn the lead of our negative or limited thoughts, beliefs, emotional patterns and subconscious programming into the gold of our inner essence, the divine potential we know is there within us? However wonderful our intentions, it is often easier said than done. There are a few keys, however, that are essential for the process to empower you to master turning your inner lead into spiritual gold! The process always begins by taking stewardship of our inner world. Blaming our circumstances or others for how we feel, always looking outside ourselves for the source of our happiness, or lack thereof, is the cement that keeps us stuck in the lead of separation. While we may not always be able to change our automatic thoughts, emotions or subconscious programming in any given moment, we can always choose our conscious response, our attitude, toward whatever we are experiencing. We always have freedom of choice, and this inner choice is the key to transforming our reality. This key to creating a reality in accordance with our highest self is really about changing our inner perspective. The higher and more inclusive our perspective, the more freedom and empowerment we have. When we choose to view every experience as inherently useful, as something we can learn and grow from, we transform any situation into one that is beneficial in some way. We “turn stops into steps,” changing our relationship to life from an adversarial one to an open, inviting, cooperative one. In doing this we take the first step to becoming spiritual alchemists, signaling our willingness to take whatever lead our experience has brought us and turn it into inner gold. Energy & vibration

Another key choice we can make as inner alchemists is to view everything, including our thoughts, attitudes and beliefs, as energy and vibration. From this perspective we become receivers, transmitters and transformers of vibrational information. We realize that we have the capacity to tune in to, as well as transmit, many different “channels”of information and many different vibrational frequencies. We see that the energy and vibration of

any situation can either be perpetuated or changed by the way we interact with it. Rather than getting caught up in the story of our thoughts, feelings and interactions — our personal drama — we begin to see our experience as energy and vibration that can readily be transformed. From this viewpoint it’s clear that the vibrations we are generating with our thoughts, feelings and beliefs create a resonant field, which in turn attract a like vibrational resonance from the outside world. By choosing to change our vibrational channel, by choosing to focus our attention on higher vibrations of unity, wholeness, light and love, we begin to transform any negative, chaotic or disruptive energies we are experiencing and create a coherent resonant field. vibrational state

The work that I practice and teach, Resonance Alchemy, is a powerful system of healing and inner transformation designed to facilitate this process of raising our vibrational state. It is based on the use of higher dimensional codes in the form of Sacred Syllables from a universal language of spirit. The knowledge of this sacred light language, which I began to receive in 1994, is a gift from a group of Pleiadian light beings. The syllables, designed to work through thought, not outer sound, carry specific frequencies that evoke higher states of awareness, activate our inner essence, and awaken our divine blueprint. It is said in alchemy that you must have gold in order to make gold. The inner gold within us, though it is often buried, is our Essence, the human expression of our Divine Nature. The Sacred Syllables I teach in Resonance Alchemy, used as an inner mantra, act as the catalyzing gold needed to activate and bring to life these inner spiritual resources. When used as a silent mantra in meditation, emotional clearing or healing, the Resonance Alchemy sacred syllables are invaluable frequency tools that work for anyone, creating the specific vibrations that are needed to transform the inner roadblocks we encounter as we move toward a direct experience of our divine nature. a Katherine Parker is an energy healer, intuitive, author and founder of Resonance Alchemy, a profound system of healing and personal and planetary transformation. On the other hand, when the thought of changing something I’ve been used to, or trying something different altogether, produces a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach — nausea, headache, shortness of breath or other strong, negative signals — then it’s essential to stop. Listen to the body. Select a different option. Everything is not for everyone, at every time, for every reason. There is no one journey. Just because something is right for one person and not right for another does not mean that one person is ready and the other is not. Appropriateness is the focal point. The only time I get into hot water is when I ignore those warning signals. I find it easier to expand upon what I already know works for me. It’s enjoyable, but not too much of a stretch to add facets of qigong practice to my morning rituals, or to share them with others. The calm, grounded, centered feeling resulting from my practice is my favorite personal ritual. All those factors work well for me as I embrace life’s inevitably changing tide, surfing the wave with a smile! Regular retreats into nature are also essential in maintaining the good medicine of my connection with Divinity. There’s nothing more ancient or indigenous than that! The following are tips for those who are just starting to create a personal ritual: Choose a time of day or day of the week that 

lends well to joyous consistency, so that you look forward to your ritual rather than dreading it. Make it special for yourself. Enhance the   sensuality — make it smell good, feel good, sound good, etc. For example, if you’re adding a journaling practice to your personal ritual repertoire, then light a candle. Use your favorite essential oils. Put on your favorite calming music. Set up your writing chair with a special fabric. Remember that gratitude is the currency   of the soul. No matter what you do, infuse each moment with the respectful, joyous gratitude that you are doing it. Adding that living quality to daily life increases vibrancy and provides the opportunity to improve your experience, empower yourself, and increase the potency of your energy flow. I’ll be addressing “Gratitude is the Currency of the Soul” in more detail, live on blog talk radio at noon Central on Wednesday, March 9 (see the link online at Edgemagazine.net). Whatever you do, do it from your own core. Stay current with that core — know yourself so that you continue to choose personal rituals in alignment with who you truly are. a T. OUR FEATURED TOPIC: IGNITE YOUR ALCHEMY   Egypt

from p. 12

Because of the murder of my friend and of Pharaoh Akhenaten, my heart was heavy. I honored them by sacrificing my personal life. As a dedicated missionary of the Aten, I never had any romantic relationships, never married nor birthed any children. King’s Chamber

Because of this past life, I was ecstatic when I was able to visit Egypt in November 1991. The ritual that moved me the most took place at night in the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid. Present were 126 of us dressed in long white robes, all Priests of Melchizedek ordained and led by Rev. Dan Chesbro, gathered to anchor the Blue Ray around the world. The King’s Chamber is normally cool. But with 126 of us standing shoulder to shoulder, the space became very hot. By the end of our toning, chanting and prayers, we were drenched with sweat and the dust on the floor had turned to mud. In spite of the discomforting heat, I was ecstatic to be part of such a large group creating healing energy together. It felt like we were standing atop a high mountain enclosed in a crystal sphere. Our tones sounded like a tuning fork. They resonated deep inside my body, making my chakras spin and radiate light. At the close of our ritual we directed the energy that we had generated deep into Mother Earth and then out through the top of the Pyramid to wash the aura of the entire world. This ceremony set my feet firmly on the path of healing and teaching. It resurrected memories from my former life in Egypt and reignited my love for Isis and the Mother Goddess. a Carol McCormick will lead a “Mother Goddess is Calling You” workshop in Minneapolis, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, which includes storytelling, singing, meditation and making a special Goddess Candle for your home altar in a glass container with glued on decorative materials. I WALK IN BEAUTY by Lini Wilkins “Hozho’dooleel!” My grandmother begins her prayer of gratitude. With a gentle caress of her forefingers, the white coarse cornmeal sacred to the Holy People disburses into the evening breeze. She continues her prayer for a good plentiful day, as my siblings and I follow suit, each of us delicately releasing our cornmeal. We quietly murmur prayers of our own of all that was good that touched our lives that day. “Ahee’hee!” we proclaim into the completing day. This ritual occurred evenings and mornings when I was a little girl growing up on the Diné (Navajo) reservation. Showing gratitude to the Creator and the spirits was one practice that my grandmother, a medicine woman, encouraged us to implement into our daily lives so that we continue to travel the beauty way by focusing our attention on the abundance that is already present in our lives over the things that we feel we lack. The repetitive actions of showing gratitude to these spiritual beings who make our lives possible enable us to grasp the understanding of achieving hozho — balance, respect, harmony, beauty, kinship and joy. A Diné Blessingway prayer of being surrounded by beauty taught us that the Universe holds vast amounts of beauty, and that our inner beauty is just as limitless in its own splendor. The daily practice aligns the two together where our blessings become immeasurable and phenomenal. In the last couple of years, life decided to drop a few unexpected moments into my lap where my true alignment of the beauty within me and outwardly found itself at a grave imbalance. I was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer at the age of 57! Frankly, I was taken aback! This, just when I thought I had finally found grounding after an arduous journey of a failed 30-year marriage that ended in a

divorce. The beauty in me was shaken. Surgery and chemotherapy followed. During the course of 12 chemotherapy treatments, I realized that I was on that vision quest that I had always wanted. Instead of nestled somewhere in the crevice of my mother the Earth with plants and animal relations waiting to offer help, I had chemical substances intravenously pumping into my veins twice a month. Clearly, something deep inside me had other ideas. When my grandmother prayed with us, we directed our prayers to the Universe. There was a reason for that. “The Universe is immense with nothing but goodness and that the Holy People, the Creator, and our ancestors are there waiting to help!” She said. “We, as two-legged humans, hold the imbalances.” This recollection brought a turning point in my “vision quest.” I had to realign my inner beauty to the Universe. The key to that doorway is any reverence of gratitude. So, I began prayers of gratitude for everything: the surgeon, oncologist, nurses, the port placed on my body and the chemical substances that entered my body through it, the bloodthinning medicine, the filter in my veins that helped prevent clots, and so on. But something was missing. I felt that there was someone I was not thanking as I went through my list over and over. I quickly found out who. In preparation for a bath one night, I saw this person. She looked right back at me. She was drawn, thinning hair, tired eyes as she stood with a nakedness that exposed a six inch scar from her belly button on up. Purple bruises dotted her midsection from bloodthinning shots. In her right arm, she held a pump, the size of a lemon that contained the chemical substances streaming into a port right above her right breast. After a longing and loving eye contact, we wept into each others arms. “I am so sorry!” I repeated over and over for a good while. A deep gratitude overcame me as I uttered, “Ahee’hee!” (thank you) to this brave woman looking at me with love that was new and different. I love thanking myself now. It’s one of my most prized pastimes! Recently, I underwent a CT scan and a colonoscopy that produced normal results with no signs of cancer! I thanked my colon and the chest area where the port was. Beauty has been restored! Ahee’hee Creator! a Lini Wilkins grew up on the Dine (Navajo) reservation in Arizona, an hour north of the Grand Canyon. She attended boarding school on the reservation. After graduating from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Lini moved about a dozen times all over this country. She homeschooled her three children — Sion, Niltooli and Nazhone (two of which have already graduated from university with the youngest in his third year). She has lived in Minnesota since 1999. Now, Lini is being called to share the beauty way with others as her grandmother did. She can be reached at linibimaii03@yahoo.com. Copyright © 2016. All Rights Reserved.

Walk

in love

An Interview with Russell FourEagles on Healing by Tim Miejan At the age of 18, Russell FourEagles responded to warnings of the dangerous spread of communism throughout the world by joining the U.S. Army to help protect his country. It was 1970, and this scared teenager from northwest Wisconsin found himself tens of thousands of miles away from home in the heat of Vietnam. He did everything asked of him. He volunteered to do welding when barrels that had held Agent Orange were cut in half and refashioned into toilets, not realizing that despite assurances from his superior that the barrels were rinsed and safe to handle, he would be tasked with healing himself from cancer numerous times after coming home from war. He volunteered to walk point as the first man in a line of soldiers moving slowly through the dense forest, having to identify booby traps, land mines and ambushes by the enemy, despite worrying every minute whether his time would be up with his next step. Throughout his service in Vietnam, Russell listened to the wisdom given to him since the age of 5 by his Oneida grandmother, Coretta Mae Smith. Early on, she recognized that her grandson would be the next healer in a lineage going back more than 200 generations, and she taught him not only how to heal, but how to live. As Russell walked among the dead in combat, he received messages from her, and from the Creator, in his dreams. The difference between walking in fear, and walking in love, completely changed his perspective — and saved his life. “Don’t worry about dying,” his grandmother told him in a dream, “as it will turn out however the Creator wants it.” Russell’s experiences in war, and as a young man being trained to be a Medicine Man, are brilliantly described in his book The Making of a Healer: Teachings of My Oneida Grandmother. Step by step, the author recounted the maturation of his healing abilities and his growing confidence in channeling the Creator in helping people recover from cancer and other life-threatening conditions. He will present a four-hour interactive workshop from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Spirit United Interfaith Church, 3204 Como Ave. SE, Minneapolis, sponsored by Minneapolis Theosophical Society as part of the group’s Ancient Wisdom / Ancient Mysteries series of lectures and workshops. 16  www.edgemagazine.net

On average, I’ll see between 12 and 15 people. My gram was a big, big influence in my life. She was a very peaceful, but very strong woman. She was naturally thin and she had learned her medicine from her grandmother and her grandmother learned from her grandmother before that and so on. I’m the 202nd healer in the family, but I’m the 404th generation from the first healer that we know of. It’s been a very interesting journey, this journey of helping people. In Western society, people think healing means going to a doctor and getting a prescription or having a procedure done. What does healing mean to you? RF: From the Native aspect, we look at the

Russell spoke with The Edge from his home in Spooner, Wisc., about his journey and he shared practices each of us can use to stay in balance and remain healthy. Your powerful book, The Making of a Healer, is based on lessons you learned from your grandmother. Tell us briefly about her and the role she played in your life. Russell FourEagles: As a kid I was born to

my parents who were both half Indian and we were poor. We lived out in the sticks in a little shack. When my mother got pregnant with her fifth child, there was not enough room in the house so my mom asked my grandma if she would take one of the children, and she chose me. I lived with her until I started school — and she started my education with medicine right away, although I didn’t realize it was an education. I thought we were just having fun with leaves. It was a pretty interesting journey. She knew so much, and she had a repertoire of 1,800 herbs that she used. In her day she would do five healings a month, and we would collect herbs 25 days a month. But I don’t do that now. I have had to cut it down to maybe 200 herbs at most that I use, because I’ve got clients every day in my healing center up here in Spooner.

whole picture, so to speak. It’s truly healing of the mind, body and spirit together, using the herbals to bring everything into balance. Usually what’s causing an illness are things that are out of balance in our bodies — spiritual things or emotional things or physical things — but they all work together.

In your book you cite several keys in the healing process. One is to not get in your own way. What does that mean? RF: All healing is done through the Creator.

All I can do is draw the Creator’s energy and send it to people and listen to what the Creator tells me as I’m doing healing. Being in your own way is getting hung up on the beliefs of society. Most children can see spirits until they are about 4, 5, 6 years old and then society says, “Well, you can’t see them,” so, therefore, it goes away. It’s when we pick up in the beliefs of this Western society that we start to lose our way. We’re actually getting in our own way from letting spirit guide us. Although, people are awakening now. There has been a big, big change in what I’ve seen over the last 10 years. When I was first started healing, most of my clients were Native people, and now it’s reversed. I see probably 20 percent Native people and 80 percent others. My grandmother taught me that in order to let the Creator come through, you have to stay out of It’s way so it can work. That means getting your ego out of the way, getting your own beliefs out of the way, and let Spirit work. You often say in your book that it’s not believing it’s going to work, it’s knowing that

the Creator is working through you to help heal. RF: Absolutely. Whenever a healer says,

“Well, I don’t know if I can do that,” what they’re really saying is, “I don’t know if the Creator can do that.” Of course, that’s being in the way and He won’t do that. The best we can do is be a clear channel, get rid of the ego. Ego is the first thing that’s got to go if you’re going to get anywhere in healing. And, like I said, stay out of the Creator’s way. Another part of healing you write about is to unburden the heart box. What is the heart box and how does it contribute to health or sickness? RF: Well, the heart box is the physical

void between the heart, the backbone, and the two lungs. But let me start further back. Back in our history, the Creator created the cosmos, the universe and formed all of these worlds, and when they were right for life he went to each world and seeded life on them — and the web of life would expand around the different globes and the different worlds. Way to the east of us is our elder brothers and way to the west of us is our younger brothers, and when our Earth here was ripe for seeding with plants and animals and everything His coming children would need, He seeded it. When the web of life had been established, then He came back to make the children. I live up here just south of Lake Superior. The Creator reached up by Lake Superior and took two handfuls of red dust and piled them up. He poked his finger in to make that heart box. Now, His idea of the heart box was that it would give us a place to store hurt, pains and traumas for a day or two, and then we’re supposed to take it out and let it go — but that was before He breathed life into us and found out that once we get stuff in our heart box, we feel we have earned it and we would like to hang onto it. All of that contributes to our sickness. So, when the Creator grabbed His first two piles of dust and made the heart box, they were red piles of dust. He reached over the White Cliffs of Dover and brought back two piles of white dust. He reached over to the Gobi Desert and brought back two piles of yellow dust. Then reached over to Africa and brought two piles of black sand — and He made all of the people, put all the heart boxes in, gave energy from each half of His body to each person, and then He breathed life into us.

You know what the first thing we did after He breathed life into us? We started whining. We needed light so we could see, and dark so we can sleep, and we need to know what is medicine, what plants are good for us, what plants are bad for us, what animals will hurt us. And the Creator said, “Listen, you guys. You’re my children. I’ve given you everything you need to survive, but you don’t know everything. First and foremost, I’m going to give you free will. Let no one take that away from you, as I will not.” Then He said, “I’m going to give you four medicines. I give you sage so you can smudge yourself and be pure when you talk to Me and do prayers. I give you tobacco, a sacred plant, so you can hold it up as an offering to me above your head when you are praying and then I know you have a good mind and a good heart. If you don’t hold your tobacco up, I won’t know if you’re right in the head and I might not hear you.” The third medicine He gave us was sweetgrass. He said, “Like I said, you guys know a lot, but you don’t know everything, so when you have got a question of particular importance, light your sweetgrass and make four circles with the smoke and think your questions to me. I’ll send an angel or a good spirit to bring you the answer. But know this: I have a lot of kids. If you don’t catch the answer, c’est la vie, I’ve got bigger fish to fry.” The last medicine He gave us was white cedar. He says, “Take and put a sprig over your doorway of the flat needle cedar and it will keep the confused spirits away.” All the children were there — the red, the white, the black, the yellow —and they said, “But Father, there is no confusion.” He said, “I’ve given you free will. There will be (confusion). Not all of you are going to believe in Me, but it’s okay because I believe in you.” That’s where the heart box came from, when we were originally made. And that’s what we do. We tend to store stuff in the heart box like records. Remember the old 45s all stacked up in the juke box? On the juke box, a record would drop, the little arm would come down and it would play a record. What we do with our heart box is this: We get a heart pain or trauma, we put it in there and then we stack more stuff over the top of it so we can’t see it. Rather than giving it to the Creator like we should, we stack it away. We are so smart as a species sometimes that   see

Russell FourEagles to lead workshop on healing at Spirit United Author and noted shamanic healer Russell FourEagles of Wisconsin will lead an interactive workshop from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Spirit United Interfaith Church, 3204 Como Ave. SE, Minneapolis. The workshop is sponsored by Minneapolis Theosophical Society as part of the group’s Ancient Wisdom / Ancient Mysteries series of lectures and workshops. Russell FourEagles will discuss his book, The Making of a Healer: Teachings of my Oneida Grandmother (Quest Books), and the use of original medicines. He will bring some of the medicine that he makes and some of the herbs he uses. He also will speak on the pandemic Lyme disease and cancer and the protocols that got rid of his own cancer five times. He will introduce the “the heart box” and explain the importance of keeping it clear. He also will lead the group in the Oneida Fire Ceremony and explain how it helps to keep us healthy. Copies of his book will be available during the workshop for sale and signing. Recordings of the workshop also will be available. Admission is $35 for adults, $55 couples or families and $30 for students, seniors and Theosophical Society members. Registration is accepted at the door on the day of the event. Charge cards accepted. Refreshments will be available, and free parking is located in the lot east of the church, three blocks west of Highway 280 on Como Avenue SE. Russell FourEagles was born in Washburn County in the north woods of Wisconsin in the middle of the 20th century. He studied healing and medicine with his Oneida grandmother for 28 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972, walking point in the jungles of Vietnam. When he returned from war, he continued his herbal training and healing. His energy healing practice began in 1959, but his grandmother would only let him work on animals. In 1967, he started working with people. Now Russell is building a new wellness center in Spooner, Wisc., where he hopes to continue healing the rest of his life. Russell FourEagles has performed more than 45,000 healings in Canada, Central and South America, Europe, Indonesia, Thailand and across the United States. He also taught workshops on traditional Oneida Healing at the University of Wisconsin-Menomonie and regularly speaks as a Native American Medicine Man and Holy Man at Native American gatherings and festivals. His grandfather was captured living in the wilds of Canada and taken to the Couchiching Reserve in 1870, where he escaped and immigrated to the U.S. and settled near the Oneida Reservation, but not onto it. The medicine that Russell FourEagle’s grandmother taught him was therefore never broken and came directly down the lineage, since living off the reservation meant that none of his ancestors ever went to boarding school. from p. 17

we’ll take that really bad hurt and we’ll take it out and make a copy of it, and then we put it back on top so we have to bury it again. Some of the pains and traumas we have in our heart box are copied over many, many times. After eons of nobody making it to Heaven properly, because of all the stuff that’s stored in the heart box, the Creator brought us the fire ceremony. That’s one of the things I’ll be talking about at the Theosophical Society event — that and the original medicine. What role does the Oneida Fire Ceremony play in the healing process? RF: From my standpoint, the fire ceremony

is probably half of the healing we need to do. If everybody would do a fire ceremony and everybody would eat healthy, I could be out of a job — then I would really happy instead of seeing 15 to 20 people a day, you know? (laughing). The fire ceremony is very important for letting go of all the hurts, pains and traumas we have got. It doesn’t do us any good to hang onto that stuff except to steal energy from our bodies, which we need to get healthy. For the fire ceremony, the first thing we do is take a piece of paper and we write our thanks to the Creator for helping us to forgive ourselves for situations where we have not had control and got hurt — perhaps deaths in the family, having a car accident, slipping on the sidewalk, whatever it may be, because this society teaches us the blame game. We put the paper in the fire and let it burn away. When we put stuff in our heart box, it may be cheap to put in there, but the true cost is to energy from our own bodies that is our protection from diseases. So we do our fire ceremony so we can give that stuff in our heart boxes to the Creator. That energy gets to go back and help make us healthy. It really helps in the healing process. I’ve noticed a definite correlation over the last 50 years in how the fire ceremony helps people. For a woman who has stiffness from the top of her neck down to about her bra line and between shoulder blade to shoulder blade, if she will do a fire ceremony, I don’t even have to do a healing on it. It will go away all on its own, because that’s where the body steals energy from. If you process from the stuff in the heart box, your heart can beat and your lungs can move. If you were ever young and had a relationship break up, it seemed like your heart physically hurt. The reason that was is because the heart box is about three quarters of an inch square and then when you store a relationship breakup in there or a death in the family or a car accident or whatever it may be, the heart box expands with all of the pain you put in there. Because the backbone does not move, the filled heart box physically pushes against the heart and 18  www.edgemagazine.net

our lungs and we can’t catch our breath. Have you noticed after putting things in the heart box that in a few minutes your heart comes back and your breath comes back? The reason for that is the Creator gave us the unconscious ability to steal energy from our own bodies to compress that stuff in the heart box. The heart box is the world’s first trash compactor. Wth us guys, we don’t take energy from the same spot as women. We usually start with our shoulders and it can work up toward our neck, and when we can’t steal any more energy from there without really hurting ourselves, then we go to our low back. So, if you know anybody with a low back pain, a fire ceremony would be a great thing for them. Share briefly about the breathing ritual you write about in your book. It seems to be a good daily practice for people. RF: Oh, absolutely. What I do is imagine a

line across the top of my head, like the line markers you see while watching football on TV. I change the line to the color purple. First, we take a deep breath from our nose. As I take a deep breath, I see that line over my head coming down like a bulldozer, pushing all the negative energy right down into Mother Earth. She has got big shoulders and she can take it. You just plant your feet on the floor, take in a breath and send it with your brain right down into the Earth. Then exhale through your mouth and the Mother Earth will transmute that negative energy and send you back positive energy. I do that for myself four breaths four times a day. I’ll see 15 people in a day and half of them are new, so I show them how to do it, so I do a lot of that breathing every day. You can actually breathe a headache away doing that by sending it right to the Earth. I haven’t taken an aspirin probably in 30 years. It’s really such a simple thing that we can do for ourselves. People should be doing that every day. Do that and the fire ceremony, and I could be out of work. I’ve had 900 extreme cancer clients. I’ve lost 12, which isn’t bad. I’ll go against any doctor with that. The ones who I lost had certain things in common. They would not do the herbs or the medicines or take my advice and do the fire ceremony. They wouldn’t do the breathing and I couldn’t convince them to know that the Creator could heal them. If you know the Creator can heal you, it’s really easy. Knowing the Creator can heal you and believing your Creator can heal you are two different things. They are total opposites of each other. In 1996, I had a cancer client at the (Veteran’s Hospital) in Minneapolis. She had 1,500 to 1,800 tumors, and the doctors told her that she had five days, and that she better find homes for her kids. She actually

came to me for a crossing over ceremony to help her get out of pain, and I said, “We do have a ceremony like that, but I really want you to think about whether we should do it today.” That was before they added onto the back of the V.A. building. There was a big mound there, and we would go up on the mound and do healing there. So I walked up that big mound with her and she handed me some tobacco and said, “Do you think the Creator could take this cancer away?” I said, “Honey, I know he can take it away. It’s only a matter if you do.” And she said, “Well, I believe it.” I said, “No, it’s much more than believing. You have to know.” She said, “I know He can take it away.” A month later she was free of cancer. She was a really strong, spiritual, black woman. She was a nice lady. How does gratitude contribute to the healing process? RF: We’re always thanking the Creator for

helping us to forgive ourselves with situations where we have no control, situations where we had control, and thanking Him for helping us to forgive people, places, situations and things that have hurt us in our life. Giving gratitude is one of the things we need to be doing. Every day I get up before daylight. I go out with my tobacco and I hold her up and I thank the Creator for allowing this old body to be breathing another day. It’s a handy thing. I’ve been terminal with cancer four times. I just went through my fifth bout of cancer from the Agent Orange…well, I shouldn’t say that because the V.A. tells me it’s not from Agent Orange, that it’s just bad luck getting cancer that many times. This last time I went from 200 pounds down to 95 at the V.A. in Minneapolis and they sent me home to die because it had spread into my lungs. It was in my throat and my lymph nodes and all over. The main thing I found is that every day on the green side of the grass, it’s a pretty dang good day — and that’s all due to the gratitude. If you could share a message with every single person right now, all at the same time, what would you tell us? RF: Walk in love. Everything is going to be

perfect. We still have to do our work. It’s better to do it when you’re walking in love than walking in fear. Fear holds us back. Love makes us grow. All things are possible through the Creator. a For more information on Russell FourEagles, please visit www.soaringeagleswellness.com. Tim Miejan is editor and co-publisher of The Edge. This “pause” has been designed so that you can be given a moment to reflect within, and appreciate your own changed dimensional profiles. You are being given a short timeframe away from the strong momentum of vibrational energies that have been creating discomfort and upheaval in your 3rd dimensional lives. These dimensional shifts have been creating an enormous recalibration within your physical system. These ongoing challenges have been taking place over many, many months of your Earth plane time. This new frequency

Now is the time for you to review your new energetic patterning. This transformation in the patterning within your cells is designed to enable you to begin to operate from a higher dimensional structure. This higher frequency platform takes you beyond the 3rd dimensional illusion that you have been sourcing. The cells of your heart naturally carry this new frequency, so that you can align to a higher realm source of your makeup through a connection to your heart space. Your heart is your natural link, giving you access to that which you have realigned and returned to during this powerful transformative phase.

This pause creates a stable space to enable you to take time to breathe and Be. This is the time for you to identify all the new energetic elements of yourself that have been birthed. You are able to perceive the new aspects of your evolution and to integrate that which has been birthing within you through the continual dimensional shifts that have been taking place on the Earth. It is important for you to be able to absorb the deep changes that have been brought to the reality within your own life. You are going to find that during this month you will have time to take a breath and experience You now. To be able to open up to the new energetic settings within your physical body, and to perceive whom you have become on an energetic level. This pause will give you the space to be able to feel and experience the expansive energetic connections you naturally now have to a higher aspect of yourself. Also, acknowledge the new reconnections you have developed with the rest of the Universe. This is the month for an integration and understanding of who you are now. With this pause, you will be able to distinguish the newness of you. During this time of stillness, more will be revealed to you. As the energetic momentum

of energetic change is halted on the planet, you will be able to discern your own internal and energetic changes and reconnections. It will feel as though you have moved into clarity and understanding. It’s as though you will be able to glimpse what has been going on, as though a curtain has lifted from a stage. You will finally see, sense or feel the Truth of what is held within this time of seeming ongoing turmoil. Within the stillness of the pause, you will find a deep restful peace, a place where a quiet harmony can reveal you to you. Bringing to you a comprehension and a deeper appreciation of what you have achieved during this very challenging time that you have just encountered and lived through. Each one of you have had your own unique human challenges within this process, one not more than the other, just different. This has been the time for a deep forging of your own essential essence to emerge within you, even if you have not been able to perceive the depth of your process. You have undergone a huge transformational recalibration process that has been activated during these many months   see

of energetic transformation on your planet. This has been an essential and relentless process of dimensional expansion over this period of time on the Earth plane. It is imperative at this juncture for you to be able to witness this deep transformational work that you have done. Most importantly you need to acknowledge the inner transformation that has taken place within you over this period of adjustment. You have been pushed during this powerful change with these dimensional energetic settings that have taken place on your Earth plane. These changes activated the density that was being held within your own physical framework. This density that was brought to the surface contained many deep emotional issues that needed to be played out, in the form of direct, magnified experiences within your personal life over the past months. This unfolding process has been essential for your own ongoing transformational process within your human aspect. A necessary step

We know the process itself has created many challenges for each one of you. This has been a necessary step for you. This step has resulted in supporting you to let go of your human ego control. It has supported you to let go of the illusion of this 3rd dimensional fear that has been held in your body for lifetimes. This fear has created a strong ego mind control within your day-to-day lives, impacting you strongly on your ability to move forward on your path. We have reminded you during the different phases of your steps, of your experiences, to not allow this fear aspect of your ego mind to interfere with your process. We remind you again of the importance to continue letting go and not allow the fear of the ego to stop you. Just to trust your unknown journey. There is the simple action “to let go of the need to understand” what is going on and to Trust. We wish to acknowledge your courage, as many of you have let go of so much from the past and have allowed your day-to-day lives to transform through this letting go process. You have opened for dynamic changes to take place within your relationship to your human aspect. This is now the time during the stillness of the pause to build an even deeper connection to your human aspect: to allow a forging to take place between your newly discovered spiritual essence and your humanness, to open into another level of acceptance of your own human vulnerabilities and idiosyncrasies. We speak of this now because we know you will benefit greatly by this union of acceptance with self. This self-acceptance needs to come in the form of being able to 20  www.edgemagazine.net

end this element of separation inside of you. This action is actually imperative at this time for you to be able to alter this aspect of 3rd dimensional illusion. Through this transformation of your relationship with your human aspect, you can begin to develop a newly aligned perception of Truth with the Higher Realms. Understand that this ending of separation allows old judgments of yourself to simply fall away, and in doing so, all that armoring that you carry within your physical body simple dissolves. This armoring is a 3rd dimensional barrier, as it falls away the result is that you can more easily begin to navigate your way home, through to those Higher Realm understandings of Self. Know that self-judgment is an old 3rd dimensional experience, almost a knee jerk reaction of the ego mind. As you begin to interact with your human aspect and hold yourself consciously with the spiritual love, the separating factor of self-judgment can just melt away. Know that love dissolves all illusion. You are the love. This is your natural makeup of what you hold within your container in the Higher Realms of your higher self. You can now bring that love to your human self. This is the time for you to reinvent you, through the force of the love that you naturally are. This is the Truth of your existence from your heart space, your own pure existence of Spirit. Now you are being asked to take a moment to open into and experience your changed energetic settings. These settings create a shift in your own ability to align to a new level of your consciousness and to be able to align to new aspects of reality and Truth. This is your time to open up and discover revelations that have unfolded within your very being during this transitional phase. There are new aspects of your self to be discovered in these quiet energetic moments of settling. This pause is taking place right now on your planet, and will continue to be able to unfold and evolve you through this month. This is a simple process not to be complicated by the ego mind. You have been waiting for this step of integration, introspection and further transformation. You will need to sit quietly with yourself, holding your heart and bringing your awareness, your breath into your heart cells. This is your own doorway to unveiling, revealing you and giving you access to those Higher Realm openings that you are ready to receive. This pause energy is designed to support you in being able to successfully move into your unique sacred space within your heart cells. Remember, your heart is simply a dimensional doorway that is open for you. This entryway is being held open without interference by the pause energy.

Sit in stillness

Each time you choose to take a moment to sit in stillness within your heart opening, you will find a deeper and deeper natural opening. Each moment you work within your heart will become accumulative. This means you will always be able to access this opening for your own stability in the days to come. Each time you move into the opening it will expand and anchor more completely, like roots of a tree, going down into the Earth. Know that you only have the month of March to fully utilize the pause energy. It is here for your own refinement of yourself and this opportunity is present to support you for the ongoing changes that will be coming onto the planet as we move forward in the year. Many phases of transformation will still take place to complete this “new dawning era” on your planet Earth. As you do your own sacred work through your heart cells, be aware of the significance of forming and anchoring alliance energies that you have made pre-agreements to help you transition at this time. As you work through your heart, call forward those pre-agreement energies and allow a sacred weaving to be activated between you and those you call forward to help you. You can anchor these alliances naturally within your own heart opening. You do not have to remember making these pre-agreement alliances to activate them. Know that you created these alliances before coming to this Earth plane. You made these pre-agreements because you knew you would need this support now during this transitional time. Remember, you have free will as a human being. You must give permission to those alliance energies so that they can be available to give you that support. You cannot complete this aspect of your mission here alone. The sacred design was that you would not be alone to come back to completion, to come home to your self. Know that we, the Pleiadians, are here to support each one of you that calls us forward. We are committed in our role of assisting you. This is a part of our destiny mission to play our role as part of a Universal team in assisting planet Earth. We hold each one of you during your ongoing birthing process. We hold an energetic womb of light around you. Blessings, The Pleiadians. a Christine Day is a leading spiritual teacher, healer, channel and author. Starting your day with warmth Food First

by Nutrition Julie One of the most common questions I get from people is what to have for breakfast. I am a huge fan of having a morning green smoothie. However, in these colder months you may want something warmer and more substantial. Roasted veggies are wonderful at dinner time, so why not bump them up into your morning routine? Packed with beneficial nutrients and flavors, this hash gets a thumbs up from everyone in my family. If you are pressed for time, chop and roast the veggies ahead of time and fire up the skillet to reheat and meld flavors at breakfast time! Butternut Squash & Beet Hash 2 cups peeled butternut squash, cubed 2 large peeled beets, cubed 2 Tablespoons coconut oil, melted Sea Salt and Pepper to taste 6-8 slices bacon (vegan sausage is a wonderful option) 2 medium onions, diced 1-8 oz. package mushrooms, diced 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F 2. On a baking sheet, toss squash and beet with coconut oil and season with salt and pepper. Spread in a single layer and roast until golden brown and tender, 25-30 minutes. 3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon or vegan sausage until crispy, break into pieces. Sauté onions and mushrooms in the same pan. 4. Plate roasted veggies, spoon onion/mushroom mixture over veggies, crumble meat or vegan sausage over the top and serve! a Nutrition Julie is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and Raw Food Nutrition Educator who works to educate, inspire and empower the people she works with through her step-by-step Food First System. Horoscope: March drifts in, roars out Mercurial Messages

by Heather Roan Robbins March rolls in like a cloud of fog. Our intuition may be strong, our awareness heightened, but our practical perceptions can be confused or off-center as the month begins while the Sun in Pisces conjuncts ephemeral Neptune. Let the compassionate heart of Pisces open perception of our profound interconnection with all our relations, but also take care of personal business to be healthy and centered enough to help others. Mars enters Sagittarius on March 5, heralding a fresh honesty that reveals new interpersonal challenges mid-month. Our feelings heighten as Venus enters Pisces on March 12, and squares Mars on March 14. Spring fever and new relationships percolate. Keep your eyes open for new connections, but tend ongoing love with care. Appreciate differences rather than polarize opinions. Renewing, rebellious spring roars in like a lion as the Sun and Mercury enter Aries on March 20 and 21; look for a hope spark and a renewed call for social justice. Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…Feel a turning point coming; nurture your energy carefully early in the month, and clear the decks. Don’t be distracted by other people’s tensions mid-month. Make sure you are aimed in the right direction, because there’s rocket fuel available to you after the spring equinox. Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…If friends call on extra favors, keep the good karma flowing within healthy boundaries. Work companions may be under stress and need your support the first few weeks; be the leveling voice of compassionate practicality and that support comes back around towards the end of the month. Schedule in creative time; it supports your health. Gemini (May 21-June 20)…Expect mixed signals in the work situation; instead of trying to make everyone happy, listen for what’s most important, and proceed. The dust may settle by next month, and your intuition can align you with the next step. Hold the hand of anxious beloveds, but don’t take on their anxiety; let them know you believe in them, have their back, but don’t do the work for them. Cancer (June 21-July 22)…It’s easy to feel spread thin the first few weeks. Check your health disciplines to make sure they support and nurture you. Neighbors, siblings or sibling-like friends can bring surprising resources. Be ready to roll with changes in your environment as spring begins. Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…Dream away; although the people around you bustle, early March could bring down time for you; use it creatively. You may feel feisty mid-month, so choose your debates carefully. Tend to personal business now, as the spotlight shifts back towards you as spring launches.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…Focus on health and bring loose ends to completion; it’s your low energy time as the Pisces Sun opposes yours. Take care of yourself, reduce stress and practice receiving (a stretch for you). Springtime brings fresh enthusiasm, but don’t overextend yourself yet. Your energy rises soon afterwards. Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…You can be that gentle mediator of thought-provoking social justice dialogue and help people explore common ground. You may also be the shoulder to cry upon for people processing recent loss; don’t try to fix them, just hold that space with compassion. Spring renewal can make friends feel abrasive; engage on your own terms. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…Be generous with creative camaraderie, and cautiously pragmatic with material support. Find the healthy, centered midpoint between withholding and over-giving. Watch a tendency to get lost in your inner worlds in early March, and enjoy playfulness mid-month. Respond to spring’s urgency in your own time. Redirect conflict into engaging challenge. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)…Don’t count on your usually glowing luck; it’s a bit frayed as the month begins. You have more leeway after the equinox, but keep momentum going; you’re asked to grow by leaps and bounds this year. Thoughtful consideration and concentration smooths your path and helps you through some tough lessons. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan.19)…Organizing people will be like herding cats this month; clarify goals and ask others for their help in accomplishing them, rather than try to micromanage wandering souls. Avoid confrontations and wander to your own creative playground mid-month. People appreciate your proactive approach in springtime, but resist being told what to do. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)…Engage your social graces; people need your ability to weave community and create more understanding. Watch a tendency to get set in your ways mid-month; walk that fine line between holding your ground and becoming inflexible. Receive generosity with gratitude rather than expectation, and the flow grows. Relax after the equinox; encourage consideration but let go of an urge to make others behave. Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)…You can swim through these foggy waters with grace; help others around you adjust. Rest often. Be alert for new relationships with potential mid-month, but stay in the present moment rather than let your imagination race ahead. After the equinox, if feeling overwhelmed, center down rather than armor up. a Heather Roan Robbins is a heart-centered and choiceoriented astrologer, palmist and ceremonialist with 30+ years’ experience.
