by Tim Miejan It is very easy, in fact too easy, to get caught up in the sensationalism that is growing exponentially in the media. Corporate conglomerates who control the media are interested in only one thing: viewership. Increased viewership = more advertising = higher profit. A news broadcast recently revealed a disturbing trend that more people than ever before are getting their news via social media. The problem with that picture is that you cannot trust what you read on Facebook, because those who post viral reports disguised as news are only interested in one thing: viewership. We’ve come to the point in which the number of eyes viewing a given news item is more important than the news itself. more difficult to find accurate, truthful news, which may be intertwined with the end of Brangelina, cute pets, what animals would look like if they had no neck and superheroes — all wrapped around 24/7 coverage of terrorism and people protesting the fact that so many people are getting killed by police (791 so far this year, according to The Guardian). What’s even more discouraging is the failing of the fourth estate to adequately serve as an independent checks and balances to government. And that doesn’t even begin to address the news that corporations don’t want you see. Censorship is something we’re all opposed to, but when the news media decides it doesn’t want you to see something and doesn’t share it, we don’t know what it is we’re not being shown. The media is just one of many institutions that will

collapse and rebuild in these changing times. Lest we forget, we came into these bodies at this time to participate in this grand upheaval, an experiment to see if we can consciously raise the spiritual vibration of planet Earth. Such transformation is not easy. It requires a personal metamorphosis to adapt to higher dimensional frequencies, and that is already occurring. All of us can identify friends or family members whose consciousness has shifted. When we are accepting of all humans as equals, then we will know the transformation is well on its way. And when profit is no longer the measuring stick of success, then we will know the transformation is well on its way. Film documenting German healer Groening coming in Fall A documentary film on the German healing phenomenon, Bruno Groening, will be shown in two locations in the Twin Cities this fall. The film, The Phenomenon Bruno Groening: On the Tracks of the “Miracle Healer,” traces the dramatic events in 1950s Germany when tens of thousands of people, beaten down by the war and given up by doctors, throng to Bruno Groening, and countless heal by listening to his words: “There is no incurable, God is the greatest physician.” Groening, a simple German man, took no money for the healings, saying it was not he, but God who heals. He makes headlines in Germany and around the world and stirs controversy. Now the full story is contained in this impressive documentary that includes original film and sound documents, archive material and over 50 eyewitness interviews, as well as elaborate re-enactment scenes. The film is extraordinary in another sense: many viewers report that as they watched the film, they suddenly felt a power, a current in

their body or a deep sense of peace. Some even report the disappearance of pain, disability, addiction and other ailments. Groening died in 1959, but today the healings continue and are confirmed by medical doctors. Autumn, a natural pause by Rachel Kosmitis Something is about to be born, enter stage left, pop into view. Perhaps it’s summer, about to leave the northern hemisphere and slide down the globe past the equator to those “down under” and allow autumn to enter. The days have that in-drawn breath quality about them, a slow, inexorable dying-down of the garden; the sun no longer at its zenith but unhurriedly changing angle to slant in that autumnal way it has; the barest tinges of color at the tips of leaves; a certain stillness in the air. Even rain has lost its vigor, falling sans thunder, quiet patter on windows its only greeting. Listening to the absence of growth, flower and fruit — hearing a different sort of tuning down, one of clearing, vacancy, void — I realize this is also a natural state, a true time of change, a pulling in of energy to allow a more internal growth, resting, allowing fallowness, introspection and a good empty space for fertility to flourish. Even though this is a time of year in which to enjoy the fruits of summer’s labor, to begin a soft, sweet drawing in, it goes largely ignored in the flurry of “lasts” — last summer party, last weekend before school starts, last kayak or canoe trip, the last swim. We run about gathering pens, notebooks, flash drives, clothes, lunch supplies. We lose the sweetest time of year in a swirl of “getting ready’s” and “shutting down’s.” 10 www.edgemagazine.net

We miss the subtle and beautiful time of year that calls us to stop and smell the aroma — one of gentleness, of leisureliness. Sitting quietly in an early autumn morning, I wonder how it would be if instead of an abrupt cessation, final door-slamming of activity, the last concentrated burst of doing, we simply, gradually, permitted a sort of screen-door closing, went onto a porch and, instead of lamenting, breathed in the cooler air, listened to geese announcing their flight number (to other geese), to the leaves rustling in anticipation of their color change. I wonder how it would be if we accepted the fading of verdant, fertile, the lushness and simply waited, waited for bare branches, leaves crunching underfoot, a more northerly wind, paler blue of skies, watered-down sunlight slanting from a

different direction? When we rush through this amazing experience called life, we do it and ourselves a disservice. We distance even further from the Divine. We disallow ourselves any pleasure by insisting, “But there’s so much to do!” We, unwittingly stand next to a marvelous buffet and refuse to take a plate. We do not open the package in front of us, choosing instead to talk about the lack of packages or that we really don’t have time to look at them. What if we thanked the garden for its abundance, and wished it good rest through the winter? What if we reminisced about the good times we had in our backyard, in nature, with our family and friends? What if, instead of bemoaning back to school, closing down patios or swimming pools, we thought about the good times we had and began to think of the next time we would engage in those activities? What if we excused ourselves from a single event and just allowed the time of year to be the event? Would we then, diverge from dragging our feet like a petulant child when playtime is over and toys are to be put away, crying, and complaining and instead take in a breath, enjoy the transition and what it has to offer us, then enter the next calendar phase ready for what it brings? a Rachel Kosmitis is a Certified Angel Card Reader, Reiki Master/Teacher and writer. Witnessing Drama, Fear from the Heart A Pleiadian Message

We, the Pleiadians, alongside many other life force groups within the Universal community, are assisting with a powerful synergetic energy that is anchoring onto your planet for this revolutionary juncture of your awakening. A series of dimensional adjustments will be opening up throughout your Earth plane, and these are designed to play an impactful and significant role in supporting a huge shift within your consciousness. This transformation has been created to launch those of you on your awakening path into a series of deep internal changes. Through these dimensional shifts, there is a breaking down within the illusion that has been forged in your world for lifetimes. These shifts are making it possible for you, as an individual, to stabilize and to begin to glimpse and experience the sacred that exists within you. These dimensional shifts within your environment are allowing you to be able to more easily identify, and then witness, the drama of the third-dimensional illusion. The action is to guide you energetically to move beyond this illusion and no longer be a part of that drama. Each one of you are being called through these dimensional changes to develop a deeper union within your own heart, which will enable you to play a more conscious role within your communities on Earth. As you work from the Truth that exists within your heart, there are transformational reconnections to the Collective Oneness that automatically begin to manifest through you. These reconnections to the Oneness strongly influence and impact your individual journey, and then they flow outwards to all of humanity. Family of light In reality, we are all part of the “family of light.” Every human being holds an aspect of the One God Consciousness. You, as a collective humanity, have always belonged to the Sacred. Your heritage creates a strong anchor for you at this transformational juncture. This anchor can be likened to a platform of light that supports you in your Homecoming. Remember, it is through your heart that you can transcend the illusion that is on your planet. You can begin to draw strength from your heritage simply because you hold an aspect of the Oneness within you. Your very own heart structure is your doorway to access this pure form of empowering support. Now is your time to begin to transcend the illusion on your planet. place to support you in your quest of liberating your self. The greatest factor holding the illusion in place is the energy of fear that has built up like a mountain within the consciousness of mankind. This is the time for you to begin to consciously move away from the old way of reacting to the illusion of fear that has dictated and impacted your every decision, your every movement in this world. Fear is the automatic response from the ego mind, a third-dimensional illusionary reaction that keeps you in a cycle of selfsabotage. Each one of you is being called: to begin a conscious process of changing the way you react to fear in your day-today lives; and to begin to investigate how you are responding, and perpetuating this element of fear in your lives. Many of you are still imprisoned by this illusion of fear. This energy can be all encompassing for you. It creates a strong emotional response that spawns a separated state from Truth. The feeling of fear overwhelms the senses and prevents you from connecting into your heart structure, which links you to your Home, to your natural heritage of the Oneness. A Truth: Fear has no reality base in the moment. Fear is built up through a series of misperceptions created from the ego mind. The ego has a series of stories about what might happen, and these stories are based on what has happened in the past. Remember, your ego mind does not understand anything beyond the third-dimensional illusion. So fear is your ego mind’s response to any change, to anything that is different from what it does not have a point of reference. Fear is the result of the full limitation of the ego mind.

Witness your fear A process is necessary so that you can begin to witness your fear and the constant chattering, dialogue of your ego mind. Watch the way your ego mind works, how it creates and builds momentum to the feeling of fear. You need to note how it begins to insinuate the very worst scenarios to prevent you from making any changes to the sabotaging cycles in your life that are set in place. We are holding a new dynamic platform of energy on your planet for change in the strong hold of illusion. Fear has been the main ingredient that has instilled the illusion on your planet, and now you are to begin a deep process of self-realization to move beyond that which has held you imprisoned. The development of your higher level of conscious connection originates through your heart center. Your heart connection

A Truth: Fear has no reality “ base in the moment. Fear is

built up through a series of misperceptions created from the ego mind. is your way to freedom as you are moved beyond the grip of the ego mind and the fear responses. This pure source of energy that has begun generating on your planet holds the imprint patterns to support your realignment to the reality that exists beyond the illusion of fear. You have the sacred vehicle of your heart center, which will act as a stabilizer, enabling you to anchor into the liberating reality that has always existed beyond the illusion of fear. It allows you to source from a free unlimited, uninhibited place within you. It moves you into a state of being, by repositioning you naturally away from the limited perception of your ability to function on this Earth plane from the illusion. Here, you meet Self through the connection to a higher aspect of your being within your heart structure.

Upswing of upheaval There is to be an enormous upswing of upheaval on your Earth plane. In the upcoming months, the potential for third-dimensional drama will increase as the new dimensional energies create an energetic discord within societies, within countries throughout your planet. This call to anchor through your heart beyond the fear is essential for you, enabling you as an individual to stay connected, stabilized within your heart, while you witness these increasing dramas. Remember: This upheaval is all designed as part of the illusion of this time. The ego mind will react strongly with fear to these impending changes within your society. You, as a human race, have been weighed down through this illusion of fear, which has been operating through all time on your planet. Fear has been an all-consuming pastime — and a very strong base ego mind element held within your lives, controlling most of your communities. Change is being made possible now because of the sacred timing of this “new dawning” era. The platform that is being held opens the potential for you to extend your connections Homeward. Living with Purpose A Conversation with Mary Hayes Grieco on her October Workshop by Tim Miejan Not everyone has found that inspiring purpose that drives them to live life to the fullest. And not everyone has found the keys to live with purpose, regardless of where their life has taken them. Mary Hayes Grieco — philosopher, healer, author, teacher, lover of God and ordinary things — will present a four-hour workshop on “Living with Purpose” on Saturday, Oct. 8, in The Church of St. Francis, 3201 Pleasant Ave. S., Minneapolis. The interactive workshop will focus on finding your life purpose, loving yourself, serving others, and healing our world. “The challenge of our times,” Grieco said, “calls for us to live our hope for ourselves and our world and to powerfully step up to the tasks that are uniquely ours to do. No one can sit on the sidelines.” Grieco is the author of several books, including Unconditional Forgiveness and The New Kitchen Mystic. She is director of the Midwest Institute for Forgiveness Training and co-creator of the “Life Gets Better Now” podcast. She works in private practice at the Well Healing Arts Center and has served as a respected spiritual teacher and leader in the Twin Cities for more than 30 years. She worked on the faculty of the Hazeldon Renewal Center from 1996-2008 as a spiritual retreat leader for people in recovery from addiction. She taught courses in the spirituality of the workplace at the Management Center at the University of St. Thomas. She was a featured speaker at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum in 2005. She has trained a network of therapists who work with military families, and she has taught forgiveness around the world. She described her October 8 workshop as a special day with others who are committed to bringing love and light to our planet and a time to find encouragement and new focus about our special life purpose. “Be a light — a steady light,” she advised. “Live with faith in our human community.” The workshop is sponsored by the Minneapolis Theosophical Society as part of its Ancient Wisdom / Ancient Mysteries series of workshops and lectures. bringing their best to whatever is theirs to do right now. There are people all around us who are really seeking to be of good will, of service in some way, and to make a difference in some way. Sometimes, our purpose is kind of grand and majestic, like a Beethoven symphony. Those are the ones that we are impressed with, but a lot of us are playing a quiet little piano sonata and kind of living a simpler level of purpose, but it’s still ours. It’s still a beautiful, human song that is ours to sing, and I think we have to start where we are by validating our worthiness, our gifts, our love, our good hearts, and our ability to do what is right in front of us to make the world around us a better place.

Mary Hayes Grieco There are two notions here, one of helping people identify their life purpose, and another of how to live with purpose. Can we live with purpose without identifying what that purpose is? Mary Hayes Grieco: Yes. I think that we can

because I think that we are actually already living our purpose, but maybe we haven’t recognized it or claimed it or seen that it is, indeed, a worthy purpose that we’re living. So, I think our purpose is in us and all around us right now, all of the time, in the people and work and situations that we find ourselves in, and yet we can also quest to discover another level of purpose, another expression of purpose, maybe to really focus our understanding of what we are already doing and then opening up with our willingness and our intuition to discover what else we are made for. I hear so often from people who are searching for their purpose, thinking perhaps that their purpose needs to be something grander or bigger — but maybe it doesn’t. MHG: Right, I agree with you. I think we in

America have all sorts of ideas about how big and amazing and glamorous and rich and effective and famous a person has to be in order to be significant, and it is really not the case. I think the world is being improved upon and created and developed by millions of ordinary people who are

Perhaps those who are at a spot in their lives where they feel like they don’t know where they’re headed or what they’re supposed to do can just spend time acknowledging the gifts that they already are? MHG: Right. It’s like the old slogan of looking

at the glass half full instead of half empty — looking at ourselves and saying, “Oh, you know? I’m a good person. I’m doing this work the best I can. I am with this family being the best mom or dad or friend or sister or brother that I can be to the people who are mine around us.” I’ve come to think that purpose has different levels and that you are probably already living several levels of purpose, but they don’t translate in terms of being a really impressive career or a really amazing visible impact — but it’s impact, nonetheless. Any one of us who is really living our integrity the best that we know how and offering what we can offer is living purposefully. And then a lot of us have dreams that we dream that are not here yet and we wish we could be expressing our artistic self or we wish we could be helping in the justice system, or homeless people, or inventing something really useful. It’s always a good day to start fresh, so there is nothing wrong with just saying, “Well, okay! Here I am and this is what I have been about. This is what I am about, and I also have this kind of restlessness, this hunger, this desire to express something else. Maybe I don’t know what it is, but….” We start the conversation with our soul, with our higher self and its connection to Spirit, and we start asking into the question and opening up to seeing and discovering what has a lot of life that is right in front of us. Where do we feel drawn? Where do

we care a lot? Where are we leaning towards? Sometimes it’s just pure discovery, like, “Wow! I didn’t know that I could do this or that I would get into this next in my life.” When you’ve really been sincerely seeking at a spiritual level, it starts speaking to you and offering you a place to start something new. And when you’re on a journey you need to be aware and pay attention to the little things that are leading you in one direction or another. MHG: That’s right. I call it God’s

Yellow Highlighter. I feel like you can look around the landscape of your life and you see certain people or situations or projects or ideas have God’s Yellow Highlighter on them — these people or situations are standing out and asking you to come over here some more and enter in and discover what is here for you. We experience that with relationships when we meet a person who might be an awesome friend if we were brave enough to pursue a new friendship, or when we are dating somebody and we are feeling like, “Oh, boy, I’d like to go deeper here and I’d like to invest a little more.” These doorways are always there — and sometimes the door is waiting for us to reach out and open it up, and other times it is half ajar and it is waiting for us to just nudge the door open a little more and step inside and see what is in that room and see how it can enrich us and how we can enrich it. What inspired you to create a workshop on living with purpose? MGH: I’ve always thought

about purpose. It’s something I really care about. I can actually remember being a child and thinking big questions all the time and wishing that I could get my friends to sit down, stop playing jump rope for a few minutes and sit down in a circle and discuss this. Let’s discuss this! What is all this about? What is God and where do I fit? What am I going to be when I grow up and why? So, even as a child I thought

deeply on things and I was hungry to be of use in the world. Specifically, I felt like I really cared about why people suffer so much. Why are people looking so hurt and sad and mad and stuck? I asked that question out loud to the universe when I was in my thirties and said, “You know, show me how I can be a healing influence in this world. How can I be a healer?” It has to start with me, because I have my own sorrows and my own losses, and my own fears, and my own blocks. I know it starts with me getting braver and clearer and cleaner and happier in my own space, in my own little life, and then from growing wholeness I have some strength to share, I have some skills to teach, and that’s what led me into my main purpose, teaching a method of forgiveness for 30 years now. But it started with a question and a prayer, “What am I able to do? What can I do? I think it has to do with healing, and what does that mean? Am I going to be a therapist? Am I going to take Reiki hands-on healing and have people on a table? What am I going to do?” I asked the question so solidly that within six months, the answer came to me and I met my teacher and my method of forgiveness that I began using it with great passion and discipline for myself and then teaching others, and it is still going. It is still a real fresh and interesting pathway for me, even 30 years on. The biggest key was that I cared — cared that there was too much suffering in people. I wanted to know how to address that. How does one alleviate that? How do you help? And, so, that was the answer I was led to and the pathway I was led to. Our world is in such an amazing time of transition with so much exploding out onto the landscape that people are concerned about or wish to bring some peace to, and I just think there is probably a job out there for everybody who wants to help humanity in a larger way to grow up and settle down and settle into being healthy and working with each other and with the planet, to be proud of  see PURPOSE on p. 16 October 2016 the edge 15

ourselves. I think part of this is that we want to just feel a little proud of ourselves, in terms of what we have done with ourselves and what we’re offering — and that’s something that is there for everyone to discover. We’re in a state now where a lot of our institutions are being restructured, so we see a lot of things breaking down and there is a lot of opportunity to help make them work better. MHG: It’s almost like we’re living in two

worlds: we’re living in the old paradigm, the world that came before now, and we’re living in the new one that is being born, and we’re feeling the tension of that. Institutions that have worked for a certain period of time are breaking down and shifting and morphing and fading out and decaying and becoming obsolete, and at the same time there are all these new systems and possibilities and movements and visions that are being born. A long time ago I got the idea that we’ll do more to transform society and the human world by participating with the new paradigm that’s trying to be born, by participating with the vision of who we would like to be and to not bang our heads against the wall or spend a lot of time on anger and rage and frustration against what’s not working. Let’s just let it fade out, like a ghost, and put energy into the new ways. I know a lot of us are concerned about our jobs. My job is becoming obsolete. What do I do? What’s going to happen next? I’m sure there is something new waiting for everybody who is feeling the death of the old order in their life. There are the seeds and the elements of the new right in front of us. It all starts with the personal self by healing leftover negativity and woundedness and resentments about what we perceive has worked and not worked in our life, and tuning ourselves up, finding the spiritual practices that help us to feel some self-love and to feel clear, and to feel useful, and to move into that each day, even though it’s a mystery. How does living with purpose change how we view the fear and chaos and stress in these changing times? MHG: It gives us something to do. It gives us

a focus that is not based on fear. It gives us a feeling of accomplishment, even if it’s just a tiny one. Perhaps you helped your child solve a problem that they have been wrestling with, or you were kind to somebody who sorely needed kindness in their life, or you were practical and helped somebody with something simple and you could show them how to do it. When we give that way, when we give from our own native heart and talent and the person receives it, 16 www.edgemagazine.net

One thing that people can “ expect from any of my workshops

is the chance to come together and lighten up and get some hope and do some laughing and do some affirming of the really solid, simple truths that we all need to live more and more. there is this beautiful circle of energy that happens. You feel rewarded, you feel like you received something in return. You feel like, “Oh, wow! I guess I know even more about who I am right now because I stayed present and I stayed mindful and in service to the world as a whole.” That doesn’t mean that we all become missionaries and try and save other people; that doesn’t work. We all have our own sphere of influence, our own boundaries, our own knowledge of who are my people and who are not and what is my job and what is not and what can I do and what can I not do. We do the things that we seem to be made to do and let go of the rest of it, because that’s for others to do, and we have to kind of trust each other. We have to trust that for all the bad stories we see and all of the dysfunctional and cranky and nasty people that we see on television on the news, we have to trust our own eyes when we look around and see so much goodness. We see so many good people who are being kind and brave and fun and positive and we have to say, “Well, that’s my world. That’s the world, too. I don’t have to look through the lens of the dysfunction that the media is showing me. I can be aware of it, but really there is a lot of stuff that I have no power to change, but there is a lot of stuff I do have power to change, and I have to keep my focus there.” For whom is your workshop intended, and what can participants expect to experience? MHG: The workshop is intended for

thoughtful people of goodwill who really wish to be more powerful and loving in who they are, and it is for those who wish to see more clearly the kind of purposes that they are living and open up together with companions, with a group, to new levels of purpose. This workshop is about groups of people who come together with an intention for a higher good. How can I be part of the upward trend in the world? How can I be part of all of us doing better and making society reflect what we could be? The workshop also is just like a really good church service, when you come together with other people who are having that intention and are willing to discover new things — and your insights are ampli-

fied in that space. You might just have an idea pop into your brain that you hadn’t had before because you are in that space of possibility, where everybody’s questing about new ideas. One thing that people can expect from any of my workshops is the chance to come together and lighten up and get some hope and do some laughing and do some affirming of the really solid, simple truths that we all need to live more and more. In this workshop, we’ll have an exercise in a small group where people can bring out a question about their purpose, and I’ll guide people into opening up to their intuition for themselves and for each other and maybe getting a new insight. Maybe exploring the question within the question that they’re not thinking about. MHG: Right! Usually when I do an event like

this, the end result is that we all feel like we’re now standing on higher ground and we feel like, “Oh! Wow! I have a really new way of looking at this!” and “Oh! I suddenly understood something that has been staring me in the face for a while, but suddenly because I was here at this lecture, in this meditation, in these discussions, I suddenly see it and I can suddenly make it real.” It’s really meant to be encouraging and empowering for people to come to this workshop and to go away with like some little golden nugget, some golden seed, that they can plant in their lives and start watering and taking care of to grow something new. Is there a final message you would like to leave with our readers about living with purpose? MHG: Every single one of us needs to have

faith in ourselves, in our essential goodness and our essential worthiness, and also in our unseen potential that we have to claim — that it’s very good right now, and from this goodness I want to open up to discover and create more goodness. Have faith in yourself, have faith in other people, and have faith in humanity as a whole. Admit that we’re good, we’re worthy, we’re lovable. A Stew to support your Fall activity Food First

by Nutrition Julie The fall is always full of activities and so I look for recipes that are going to be easy to prepare, full of nutrients and ready to eat when needed. I created this recipe with a variety of beans for fiber and protein and a rainbow of vegetables to make a healing and filling stew. This recipe works well either in a soup pot on the stove, or in a crockpot that warms all day. Serve with a salad and/or bread and enjoy! It makes about 10 servings, so you can enjoy it for lunch throughout the week! Hearty Fall Vegetable Stew

5 cloves garlic, chopped 3 onions, chopped 3 leeks, chopped 3 carrots, chopped 3 zucchini, chopped 3 parsnips, chopped 3 celery stalks, chopped 1 head broccoli, chopped 1 4 oz. package shiitake mushrooms, chopped 1 8 oz. package button mushrooms, chopped 1 bunch collard greens, remove middle stem and chop 1 bunch Swiss chard, remove middle stem and chop 1/2 cup dried lentils 1/2 cup dried split peas 1/2 cup dried adzuki beans soaked overnight (or 1-15 oz can)

1-28 oz. can diced tomatoes with juice 2 1/2 cups carrot juice 5 cups water 2 T dried basil Salt and Pepper to taste Garnish: Fresh Parsley and Sprouts of your choice Put all ingredients in large soup pot and heat thoroughly for 2 hours. Once everything is tender, place 1/4 to 1/3 of the stew in a blender and puree. Stir puree back into stew, stir and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley and sprouts of your choice. The symbol for Libra is a woman holding the scale of fairness, proportion and composition. Those of you on the path, whom we refer to as the “way showers,” have as part of your mission right now: to “let go” on another level; to open into an introspective process on how the illusion of fear is still active within your lives; and to investigate your individual dynamics on how you are responding to the fear perpetuated by your ego mind. This may be a very subtle insinuation by the ego mind, however, the impact creates separation through your heart and it impacts your stability in this time of upcoming upheaval.

Change your reaction You will get to see that the ego mind continues to produce the fear, for all sorts of reasons that are not based on Truth. You will find that if you are willing to change your reaction to fear, you will begin to understand that the fear itself cannot hurt you in any way. If you witness the fear and ignore the ego mind’s dialogue, continuing forward on your path no matter the outer appearance of things, the fear will dissolve. You are being called to stay present within your heart space, where you can open to your next step in the moment, taking one step at a time and not trying to project ahead what may happen. Each time you consciously choose to move beyond the fear, you are liberating your self from the illusion. An important part of the process to change your responses to fear is to link your consciousness into your heart structure. Your heart reflects Truth, revealing the reality that exists within events and situations in your life. The energy within the heart is likened to a reflective pool of light, which aligns you to the purest connection to a higher intuitive part of Self. Your heart is a sacred connector that holds you in a stable, clear place of being impartial to the drama created by the illusion in your world, which is constantly assessed by your ego mind. Your role is to simply be a witness to the drama, not a participant. Remember: You are not your ego mind! This whole process of moving beyond the illusion of fear, of moving past the promptings of the ego mind, is a practice that can be achieved by you. Within each moment, and through every experience, you get to choose how you are going to respond to the different situations in your life. You either choose to respond to the fear or open into the unlimited possibilities, which you can source from within your heart. world through truth and integrity. We also have the Crystalline type of children, and to me these are the really sensitive ones. They are highly empathic. Their eyes are usually very large, and they are the feelers and the humanitarians of the world. Indigos are here to destroy old systems, and these Crystalline children are here to rebuild it. The Rainbow kids are under the age of 6 right now. Most Rainbow children are like the world’s peace-loving hippies. They are all about love, and because they love to wear bright colors, we call them the Rainbow kids. They are attracted to bright colors, and they are very particular with what they eat. Crystalline kids are, too, but the Rainbow kids are against eating meat. They only want to eat fruits and vegetables, and let’s not kill that cricket. Many of the Rainbow kids, I’m noticing, have not had past lives on Earth. They are brand new souls coming in, so they are really interesting to me because they have me read like the back of my hand before I even meet them. They’re really wonderful children. But, there are definite roles for each type of child and what they’re here to do for society. Are these kids particularly psychic? KM: Kids today are retaining their psychic

abilities. When we were kids, we were told, “Oh, you don’t see that. You don’t hear that. That’s not real.” Well, what’s happening now is that, as adults, we are now beginning to go through that spiritual awakening. We are reawakening to what we switched off earlier. But these kids under the age of 15 are not shutting off their abilities. As Indigos, we need to rock the boat because we need to make the world better for them. The school systems and the government systems and the health care systems are not functional systems anymore for these types of people. We need to make it better because these institutions don’t work anymore.

What are the key difficulties that parents face raising these intuitive children? KM: Depending on the kid, a lot of times

it is sleep. These children have horrible sleep patterns, and they don’t like to sleep by themselves. They really want to sleep with somebody else because they’re highly intuitive. When they go to bed at night they, certain kids have to do a certain routine before they go to sleep, and then they don’t sleep worth a crap and then they end up waking up at 3 in the morning and go into their parents’ room saying, “So and so is in my closet,” or, “There are monkeys going on my ceiling.” Sleep, honestly, is the hardest time for those kids. These kids are just picky and they are hypersensitive. My son, for instance, only wears Under Amour clothing — not because he is a jock and likes to show off but because the material is comfortable for him. They also are sensitive to food. It is not the flavor, but the texture. Parents need to stop feeding their kids human-made crap. They really have to watch their kids’ diets because they’re developing allergies. Many of the Crystalline kids have major allergy issues: allergic to pollen, allergic to milk, and allergic to many other things. It’s because they’re more sensitive. They vibrate higher than we do. As parents, we have to do a better job taking care of them, because the way we were raised is not going to work for those kids. We have to learn how to do things a different way. What was your personal experience with your children? What did they teach you as young children in regards to how you’re parenting them? KM: I have a highly empathic mother,

but I am not an empath. I’m an Indigo. And, it was hard because my daughter would always question why, and I felt like I constantly had to explain things to her. But then, I realized, my gosh, I was the same way. Once day I found myself saying, “You need to put on your shoes, because we are going to the grocery store,” I didn’t have a fight or an argument anymore. She taught

Paige taught me patience, but she is a little bit more similar to me. She is part Indigo and part Crystalline kid. Steven is part Crystalline and part Rainbow. They have their feet in both types of children, and I’m noticing that a lot of these kids do. What special challenges will these children have as they get older? Do you have a sense of that? KM: I really think that within the next 10

years there is going to be massive change, and as long as we are raising them to understand who they are, I think they are going to be able to breeze through it pretty quickly. I just don’t want them to worry about being fearful when it comes to change. The biggest thing that I tell parents is that change is necessary and it has to occur. Everybody is becoming awakened because we’re all going to be supporting each other with the change that needs to occur. I don’t think our kids are really going to be too challenged. I wonder whether these highly intuitive and empathic kids who don’t seem to fit into our culture are choosing to leave by suicide and overdose right now. KM: Absolutely. I am dealing with highly,

highly intuitive or empathic children between the ages of 15 and 21 who have families forcing them to go to college and they don’t want to go, because that’s not what they’re here to do. So instead, they’re choosing drugs and alcohol to cope or deal with the 3D reality that is around them — while they’re vibrating at a 5D reality. I really have to teach these kids, at the very least, to appease everybody, to finish high school. But they’re just saying, “Why do I have to take an algebra class when I will never use it in my entire life?” “And you’re right,” I tell them. They are right. I cannot disagree with them. But I also tell them, “You still live in a 3D reality where it requires you to get a degree. So finish the job. Get it done. And once you get it done, you are a free bird. You can do whatever you want.” I also have to explain to them life is not easy. It’s not going to be. So, you’re going to have to work for things and do things sometimes that maybe you don’t want to, but right now this is the reality of it. Take it or leave it. Some of them can’t handle it. They just can’t. There is a lot of suicide right now because they know at a soul level if they die, it’s a hell of a lot easier than what they’re going through in life. How can you argue with that? The near future is really going to be very difficult for a lot of people. You brought up an interesting point in your blog on the subject of intuitive children and gender confusion. I think it might be interesting for you to elaborate on that. KM: Yes. I am noticing that in lot of Indigos,

especially between the ages of 16 and 22. They really don’t know if they’re gay, straight, or bi, and I just tell them, “You know what? You don’t have to decide.” The problem with it is that they don’t know who they are — they just know that they love to love. That love is genderless, and they know that at a soul level. It becomes really confusing when they mature, with hormones flushing everything out. That’s really difficult because they would love their best friend as they would a boyfriend or a girlfriend, and it gets very confusing to figure out what is what, because love is love is love to them. It’s gender neutral. That’s really common for those types of kids, and thank God in our society it is now acceptable. I always tell them, “You know what? You 30 www.edgemagazine.net

be who you want to be for right now. When that frontal lobe of yours finishes growing, which is usually about the age of 22 or 23, you’ll have a better idea of where you are, whether that’s gay, straight, or bi. Wherever you land, it’s fine.” They know that it’s fine, but they just want to know what they are. They have to figure that out for themselves. So I tell them, “Figure it out. If you want to date girls, date girls. If you want to date boys, date boys. Date them both. It doesn’t matter. You’ll figure it out.” What inspired you to create this workshop and what key message do you want to leave with participants? KM: I’m doing this because I learned a lot

from my children, and I’m also helping so many other parents to understand their children, too. These kids are coming and they’re growing in a way that parents don’t understand. I used to be that intuitive child, and if I can explain to the parents what that child is experiencing and why they act or react the way that they do, then I’m doing my job. I want to be able to speak for the child and have the parent understand why they’re doing it. I also want to give parents some tools they can use to help their own children. For instance, when it comes to kids who astral travel or who are having nightmares, especially between 3 and 5 years old, I am telling parents, “Get their bed out of the corner. No corners.” And to help, put some black rocks in between their box springs and their mattress to ground them so they’re not astral traveling to places they don’t need to go. So many parents are now becoming enlightened and awakened, and want nothing but the best for their children — but they also don’t understand their kids. It’s my job to be a go-between for the child and the parent. What I am finding is that a parent is going to have one Indigo kid, one Crystalline kid, and one Rainbow kid. They’re not going to have two of the same. They’re going to have polar opposites. When children come into this world and choose their parents, they’re also choosing their brothers and sisters, and they’re going to choose a brother or sister who is polar opposite of them. That makes it easier for them to define who they are themselves. That’s why you’re always going to choose a sibling who is opposite you. That’s why twins are always opposite. If you have identical twins, one will be the Indigo — “don’t tell me what to do” — and the other one is going to be the empathic, Crystalline kid. At the Minneapolis Holistic Expo you also will be presenting a live audience reading again on Sunday. What was that experience like

for you before and what can participants expect to experience there this year? KM: I do live audience readings all over the

Midwest, so those are really common. I do them a lot, and I absolutely love them because I, we bring through an awakening. It’s great to be able to relay messages from spirit guides who step forward and help me out with what’s going on in someone’s life, and also from loved ones who have passed who step forward to assist their family members. For instance, I point somebody out and say, “Okay, your mom is standing right next to you.” Not only do they get validation that their mother is there, but they also get the validation that their spirit guides are there with them, too — so they don’t feel like they’re going about this stuff alone. It’s powerfully supportive to know that you’re not alone. Even if someone who attends doesn’t get a reading, I guarantee you that there are a lot of parallel messages that help other people. I’ll be talking to somebody about their father and, it never fails, somebody had a father who was very similar to that one and they receive support just the same. I love doing audience readings. Those are my favorite, that and teaching. I like to teach. Finally, your book, Memos from Heaven, is being released soon. Tell us what inspired that book and tell us a little bit about it. KM: It’s funny, because when I tell people

I’m a medium, the first thing people will ask is, “So, do you have any good stories.” They don’t want to hear a bad story, they want to hear the good stories. So, once I started sharing these amazing stories, it lit people up and they were so excited to see not only that I had ability, but that their loved one still was guiding them from the other side. I decided to write a book about some of the more amazing stories that I’ve encountered — through individual readings I’ve done or live audience readings. It was published and available on September 18, and I’ll be bringing that book with me when I come to Minneapolis. After being raped, I thought I had lost my soul. I was taught it was better to be killed than lose my virginity. The first time I started to take an overdose of my chronically ill mother’s prescription drugs, I turned on TV to distract myself from gagging. “The Tonight Show” with comedian Steve Allen was on. He jumped into a vat of Jell-O and I started to laugh. I fell asleep and never finished taking the overdose. I read Steve Allen’s autobiography where he described his struggles with being a teenager and the contradictions of religion. I wrote Steve Allen. Even though he received thousands of letters a week, he wrote back, beginning 36 years of correspondence with me. I loved writing and prayed that one day I would publish a book that would give hope, the way Steve Allen’s book had given it to me. At 17, when my first boyfriend was sent to Vietnam, I became more depressed. I sought counseling, but I was misdiagnosed and put on a drug to which I had an allergic reaction and became catatonic, doing the Thorazine shuffle. I was locked up. When I escaped, I took an overdose strong enough to stop an elephant’s heart. I was already out of my body when magnificent angels lifted me into heaven. I was escorted to an ethereal conference room filled with Light. I sat at a table with angels, familiar souls and spiritual teachers who emanated unconditional love. Then an empty sheet of white paper floated down on the table and letters, one by one began to appear spelling out T - R - U - T - H. home makeover appears when local woman is at her wit’s end on how to afford ‘dream’ living room

by Amanda Rangel Among the guides that have been talking to me since childhood, angels are by far the loudest. As I talk about them, I can hear them giggling because they know the experiences I share about them are full of magic and they love it when I spread stories of their magic in the human world. The story of how HGTV provided me with a free home makeover is one of their favorites because they know how happy it makes me, and they love how spreading the miracles they give helps others to connect to them. Here is the story of how angels and HGTV gave me an $80,000 makeover — for free. Sitting in the quiet one day, I was pondering how I would love to make our house cozier. You see, I purchased our house prior to meeting my husband. What I noticed was that with every room we painted together, every tile we laid or every flower we planted, “my house” became “our house.” It felt amazing to be building a home together. This amazing feeling is what anchored my wish to make our living room a more welcoming place to relax and host guided meditations for our family and friends. I started adding up the costs of what we dreamed of doing to our living room, and the mountain of money that

it would take: new carpet for living room and dining room, knock down a load-bearing wall to reveal a staircase; new fireplace wall; painting; furnishings; new electrical and lighting. The list went on. It would be expensive and probably would need to happen over the next three years, in stages. In my heart, it was something that I really wanted and, in that moment, it was like I was begging for a way to have it happen. I felt complete helplessness. Then all of a sudden I heard three sweet little voices say, “Someone will do it for you!” Have you ever seen those photos of cherub angels? That is what these voices sounded like. The sound of the voices was very playful, sincere and sweet. I am open to receiving messages from angels and, in the past, I have experienced conversations with angels, guides, deceased relatives, etc. — but these three little voices were new and I knew right away that I liked them. What do you do when little angel voices tell you that someone will remodel your house for you? I asked, “Okay,

How!?!” Suddenly in my mind’s eye, I saw the Google box. This was my queue to go to the internet and open the Google site. Once opened and ready, I asked, “Now what?” and the angels said playfully, “You know….” With no thought in my head, my hands just started typing: Minneapolis, Home, Makeover, and Casting. It was a strange moment when the mind was dead silent, but my body was automatically moving. A page of websites was revealed with those four magical words. Within the search results, I clicked on a link for a local television production company. Under their casting page, I saw that they were looking for people who wanted to “surprise their spouse with a room remodel at little or no cost.” It was a new television show and they were casting for their first season. “Yes! (I was talking to the website), how did you know that this is exactly what I would love to do!?!” Within 20 minutes I had submitted a super-secret  see makeover on p. 33 October 2016 the edge 31

Connecting to the Angelic Realm Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather Angels are not trillions of light years away; angels are right behind us, slightly above the shoulders. The Red Feather Man told me this when I first met him: “We have guides and spirit helpers with us always. They’re waiting to help; we only have to give them permission.” Many seek connection with the angelic realm but forget to do this. Angels won’t interfere with our free will, though they’ve been known to intervene in emergencies. There’s no limit on the number of requests we can make of our angelic messengers. Sometimes while driving on the highway, I’ll ask for their intervention. I don’t abuse the privilege; yet, if I need to be on time, say for instance, to sing at a ceremony, I may need a little boost to get through a line of slow cars. I’ll connect with the angels through the heart and say softly aloud, “Angels, make a way for me, please.” Almost instantly, whatever bottleneck is occurring will magically ease and allow a safe passage. The angels are beautiful beings, always ready to help us in our lives. We have to become as children in a sense, admitting to them that we need help. No request is too trivial or small for them, but I personally do not indulge strictly materialistic requests — unless having those handled would enable a larger, spiritual purpose. It’s like that old saying, “Be careful what you wish for; you may get it — but not in the form you expected.” The longing for material wish fulfillment feeds upon itself, ultimately without nourishing the spirit within.

Night is a vulnerable time for most of us. In addition to childhood fears we carry of what lurks in our room when the lights go out, there may also be superstitions we harbor from things our parents believed and shared. If I happen to feel apprehensive at night, I just pray for protection from the angels. I ask them to watch over me while I sleep and to surround me in their healing Light. This light is made of love, the strongest force in the Universe. The Red Feather Man taught me, “The force of love is stronger than anything — even ignorance or hate. That’s why there is nothing to fear if you just stay in love and compassion.” So as the angels surround me and keep a vigilant watch, I am free to roam the astral and grow, even while sleeping. Angels are not limited by gender, skin color or form. The dimension in which they dwell operates by universal principles that cause them to adapt to each particular situation. I grew up with the standard image we have of angels as these remote, perfect, white-and-gold unattainable female beings sporting lovely, flowing locks. Actually, angels can morph in appearance to accommodate the soul age of the person they’re asked to assist. These Beings of Light are so loving that they manifest in a form that will comfort, rather than frighten. If you expect a cherubic female in flowing crinoline with fluffy wings, that is what you will see. To make my home more angel-friendly, I’ve added plenty of white candles everywhere. I have statues of angels that are white. I have a fountain of shells that is largely white. The white objects serve as a visual homage and reminder of the angelic realm. Their realm is swathed in white light.

Walking with My Angels by Melodee Currier One of my favorite things to do is to take a walk in the park. Although it appears that I’m alone, I’m really not. A number of angels are always with me. I don’t remember when I first started having conversations with my angels, but it was at least 10 years ago while taking a walk. I started by mentally asking the universe a question and was surprised to get an answer back. I continued on a sporadic basis and always got answers, but not always the answers I was expecting. It didn’t take me long to realize it was my angels who were speaking. The park I like to go to most has a sidewalk surrounding it. A normally paced walk takes me about a half hour from start to finish. I begin with a prayer of gratefulness to God, Archangel Michael and Archangel Rafael, all my other angels, spirit guides, runners and helpers. Sometimes I won’t ask any questions and will just walk, appreciating my surroundings. Other times I will silently talk about a challenge in my life. I am disappointed because I thought she would will it to me, her only family.” An angel will then respond saying, “Your sister can do whatever she wants with her house. It’s not your due. It may not be right, but let it go.” I’m always satisfied with the angels’ advice, as I know it is based on truth. Like humans, the angels have different personalities. One angel in particular is very sarcastic. I kid with her when she talks to me. She’s been with me the entire time I’ve been communicating with angels. There are softer, sweeter angels too. I don’t have names for any of them, but that doesn’t seem important as their voices tell me who they are. I know it’s an angel responding to me and not my own thoughts, because I can hear or feel their voices; they use words I don’t normally use and they often interrupt me. As I walk around the park, I might talk about several things. My next question might be, “Did I do the right thing by changing doctors?” and the response from one of my angels is, “Yes, absolutely.” I can also ask for help from my angels relating to a specific situation. taking a test, I will ask and get help with that. They also give me ideas on things I could do to improve many aspects of my life. When I want to know how my son and his family are doing, since they moved to Georgia, I’m usually told “They’re doing fine.” Or I might ask why my mother was so cruel to me and get the reply, “Your mother didn’t feel loved as a child and did her best for you even though it wasn’t good enough in many ways.” No question is off limits. There is a certain place in the park toward the end of my walk that beckons me to stop and say a special prayer. There are several large, beautiful trees there with the sky peeking through. On a beautiful autumn day, nothing more beautiful. On a dreary day, I remind myself that there is bright blue sky behind the gray clouds. I always get such a peaceful feeling there and say another prayer of thankfulness before walking on. My angels are asking me to tell you that I’m not special when it comes to angels. Your angels are with you, too, and you have the same ability as me. You just have to take the first step and then continue to talk with them. Archangel Michael and the Crazy Raging Bully  Purple-gowned

angel swoops in to offer protection against a massive bully with fists raised

by Astrid Bergie Michael is the leader of the archangels and the protector of us lightworkers. My conscious experience of him has undergone many changes over the decades of my knowing him. Though I am blessed to have a strong connection to other archangels and angels, I want to use Michael here as an example of what angels are telling us and how they assist us. In terms of connecting with angels, there are many approaches that work to establish initial contact. In fact, they are all ears, so eagerly awaiting and anticipating our summons. Just say “Angel” or “Michael” and it is done! And then add a request or question that comes from the heart and it will be attended to and answered. But are we all ears? Are we really willing to listen to what they tell us? Someone once said that you cannot take a single breath without an angel in your ear telling you to breathe! And, of course, if you prefer, you can always pray and make a request to God to send His angels to guide and support you; for angels are God’s messengers. They always respond, as does God. I have a recent story to tell about Michael and me and how connected we can be. It was a beautiful, glorious summer day as I walked toward the parking lot of a Family Dollar store in a neighborhood where I never shop. Suddenly, I encountered a scene swirling with violent vicious threats and invective all directed toward a gentleman bending over his bike to unlock it. I stopped and asked him, “Are you okay?” He said, “ I was just trying to be a good samaritan and helped a drunken man get up and into that van ahead of us.” “Good for you!” I said. The source of the abuse then directed her aim at me. “What did you say to him?!” “None of your business.” I said.

“What did you say?!” She shot back at me. Calmly and confidently I replied, “You do not know who you are talking to.” Then this massive, muscular woman who was more than twice my size and half my age raised her fists, shaking them at me, challenging me to a fight. Face contorted, eyes glaring at me, she yelled, “Wanna fight me? Come on! I dare you!” I stared back at her, locking eyes with her and said, “Don’t you dare touch me!” Seemingly out of nowhere, as this crazy, raging bully was about to lunge at me, a large, very upset, but headstrong woman in a purple gown-like dress swooped in between us (like a descending angel) spreading out her arms (or was it wings?!) to keep us apart. She had been standing by the van watching us and apparently knew the bully. “Leave! Get out of here now!” she looked at me. I then turned and walked briskly toward the entrance of the Family Dollar store, feeling grateful for the the woman in the purple flowing dress and for Archangel Michael, who had been and still was by my side. I had felt myself bathed in golden light for the duration of a very dangerous encounter. Michael’s light for me is golden. Not once did I feel fear or doubt myself. Thus, I felt no need to summon Michael as I have done other times where courage and standing in truth and integrity were essential. This time felt like a divine intervention on his part. I like to think I was rescued while still being allowed to have the marvelous experience of feeling and knowing from a deep place within how powerful I really am — also how safe I am, how I am never alone and how I can trust. On that chaotic, but truly glorious, summer day, Michael exemplified for me the role of all angels to support and protect humans, as well as to teach and assist us in our spiritual evolution toward greater balance, power and love. Love + Balance + Service, Oh My!  Angelic

energy is about love, protection and service, and we are in dire need of that

by Mary LaHay The angelic realm lives both in and around us; this is made possible through the oneness of the energy of love. The beauty of the angelic realm is that it is not some distant place where only those who have crossed over the veil are. By virtue of our capacity to love and be loved, along with our gift of being of assistance to each other, we too, carry some of that same angelic energy. We are all beings formed from the same Source of pure love. The angelic realm is about love, protection and service, which we are in dire need of in this earthly dimension. Being connected to the angelic realm also helps us open our hearts to receive other marvelous gifts, such as compassion, empathy, kindness and forgiveness. Thus, we become balanced and share these gifts with others. Speaking about our experiences and interactions with the angelic realm increases these attributes exponentially. Yet, there is a limit to angels’ interactions with us. They do not interfere with choices humans make. We are allowed free will, and our soul’s evolution naturally takes place. From what I’ve witnessed, the angelic realm has many kinds of helpers and assistants. One male angel is very formal. He arrives to assist with a top hat and walking stick. He is completely silent, does his work and leaves with a nod. Another angel finds it particularly funny to make noise, do cartwheels, jumping jacks, and generally stir up harmless mischief during healings. My favorite angels to watch work are the spiritual surgeons, complete with their tiny medical equipment. Usually, these angelic doctors also have an anesthesiologist who will peacefully put the person to sleep while the spiritual surgery is performed during an energy healing. Spiritual surgery may involve organ restructuring or

dealing with multiple complex traumas due to a severe accident. It often resembles surgery on the Earth plane, except it is energetic surgery, which takes place where the problem originated or can be healed faster than traditional medicine techniques. When my husband and I are in the car, two guardian angels hop in the back and act like little children. It is not uncommon for Uno cards to fly around the back seat at the same time as the angels are pointing at eagles and other things of spiritual significance. This reminds us that we are also sacred beings. Angels are powerful messengers who show us that we can live joyfully on Earth while perceiving the spiritual signs speaking to us. At times, a seemingly mundane message turns out to be a blissful missive from a loved one. Sometimes the messages don’t seem to relate to anything at the current time. However, since time/space is irrelevant in the angelic realm, at some point we will be able to decipher exactly why we were chosen for that specific message. It helps to remember who we truly are at the core: Source energy. Staying in balance means keeping extremely grounded to Earth, yet, raising our vibration to higher levels to understand the celestial messages. There is no end to the relationship between us and the angelic realm. The balance techniques taught by the angels grow broader. The bond of love continues to grow stronger, and the ways we can be of service and remember who we really are becoming more evident. Keep connecting! With a Little Help from our Friends by Maureen Keimig I remember when I was a little girl lying on the grass in my yard and looking up at the clouds in the sky. I pictured angels living up there on the clouds and the rays of sunlight that would peak through were from the glow of their halos. My mother was the one who told me about angels. I was afraid of the dark, and each night when she would tuck me into bed, she would tell me that I didn’t have to be afraid because an angel would be watching over me while I slept. I have always kept that thought with me before going to bed at night. Even through the toughest times in my life, I would always calm myself and know that things would be okay and that I would be safe, because angels were around me to help guide me. I never knew them by name until I started using an angel card deck, and as I studied each card and learned about the angels and how they helped us when we needed guidance, I felt like they were my friends and almost wished that I could friend them on Facebook so that we could chat now and then and I could read their thoughts of the moment as they commented on their status. There were moments in my life when I believed an angel visited me in human form. At a time when I was feeling distraught, someone would appear in my life and just sit down next to me and start talking to me as if they knew me, even though I had never met them before. As they talked to me, suddenly things would seem clearer to me and I would feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I would look for these people later on, but they would seem to

disappear as quickly as they came to me — and when you live in a small town, you usually run into the same people often enough. I know sometimes we can be so busy with day-to-day living that we do not always see the messages that angels are trying to send us. If we would just take a moment to sit down and take a breath, smell a flower or even just look up at the stars at night and let the silence surround us, in that moment, through that silence, we can hear the angels speak to us — maybe not in words, but in thoughts and feelings. It may be a sudden flutter of a breeze or a warmth that comes over you and makes you feel loved. A couple of years ago, my mother had to go to a nursing home, and when I visited her, she told me she was afraid at night and didn´t like being alone. I reminded her that she didn’t have to be scared, because an angel would watch over her and keep her safe through the night. She has since passed away, and each night before I go to bed, I think of my angel watching over me and I feel my mother’s love as I fall asleep. a Maureen Keimig lives in Marshall, Minn. Angels Among Us

Choosing to live with Angelic Guidance by Dagney Kvamme Walters I work with angels all the time. They have taught me, and continue to teach me, many truths. The main angel I work with is Archangel Metatron. I was not aware of Him until Archangel Michael introduced Him to me. He informed me that I had work ahead of me and Metatron would be my constant guide. It took some getting used to, being connected all the time, I had to reach a trust level, to be assured that my guidance was Divine at all times. I felt as if I was living between two worlds. Most people are not connected all the time, but need to establish that angel connection for guidance. Being connected all the time involves Him giving me His opinion and guidance throughout my daily life. He throws in humor when needed and, at times, has even given a stern word of advice. He will sing a tune or make comments that make me laugh, and the grocery store is always an adventure. He has taught me how Divine guidance works. I found out that it is best to ask before planning and doing, because it saves work and time! What I did wasn’t wrong; the 36 www.edgemagazine.net

intent was good, it just was not what I was meant to do. It was my plan and it sidetracked me from the Divine plan. Can I refuse to do something? Yes, absolutely. Have I? Yes. I still have free will, but I have found there is always a reason that I am guided to do or say something. I may not know it at the time, but often the response from the other person is one of gratefulness — it was something they needed guidance for. Other times it’s a “no” response to the message. It’s their responsibility to listen to their angels — and not mine to judge. He has shown me that there are so many different angels, some are here on Earth all the time, and others come and go as called for. Our guardian angel is with us always and never leaves our side. I don’t see angels in their full glory, but I do see their colorful sparks or orbs and can sense them. Metatron relays their messages to me, since I only hear certain angels. This is a great gift from God, the Father Creator, learning to live in the world with Divine guidance. Do I feel like I am living in two different worlds? I did at first, but now it feels normal to me. It is a world unknown to many, but available to all who desire

Divine guidance. It is a concept that is not easily grasped by those who do not give credence to spirit and angels. People fail to recognize that this is not a new concept. Divine guidance and connection have been sought after through the ages and, at times, they have been kept secret from a society that could not grasp the understanding of God’s Wisdom. Would I go back to a more materialistic life? No way. I would feel lost without communicating with the angels and I have no desire for accumulating things that have no real value. The rewards of seeing the joy of those who are learning to connect with their angels in our Divine Reiki classes is priceless. They are happy to finally be on the path that they have been searching for. The room fills with the angels among us. They’re always among us. They are with us constantly, whispering in your ears, trying to get our attention. They are the ones behind your “gut feeling” or intuition. They are always pouring out love to you. Angels by any other name…are still angelic by Mikaya Heart Many years ago, my grandmother was taking care of her uncle who’d had a series of debilitating strokes. She was sitting in his bedroom writing in her journal, and then she glanced up to see three angels, glowing with golden light, standing around his bed — while his body contorted in yet another stroke. For a few moments, she was gripped by this vision, and then she jumped up to attend to him, and the angels disappeared. Realizing that he was attended by such loving beings eased her concern about his illness. Those of us from a Christian background, even if we have never adhered to that religion, normally label a being of light as an angel. Call them angels if you want, it really doesn’t matter; they are beings who are not in a physical incarnation that we can see. What we perceive in the physical realm is only about 2 percent of what exists. Our rational brains cannot grasp the vastness beyond that, and we would blow a fuse if we were suddenly presented with all of it. But we can access parts of it. Many non-physical beings exist in our vicinity, some of whom are interested in us, some not. First, a caution: non-physical beings are just as varied as human beings: some are stupid, some are light years ahead of us in their intelligence, some are lost and lonely, some want to be helpful, some want our help, some have no ethics and are mischievous or worse. Some are specifically there to help us; they are personal guides who made an agreement with us before we were born into this incarnation. They are absolutely trustworthy and unconditionally loving.

You do have your very own guardian angels. Now here is an important fact: we humans have free will, and there is a Universal law that no beings can help us unless we ask. Ask out loud or just think the words, “Please help me!” (You don’t need to say “please” but why not be polite?) Ask for help when you lose your wallet, when you are sick, when you are in serious trouble, when you are just tired and unsure. Ask regularly. What you need will then be presented in some form or another. You don’t have to know exactly who your guides are or what they look like. Trust that they are there. They want to help you, and they will be happy when you ask them to do their job. Be prepared to engage with them in a lighthearted and easygoing way. They usually have a delightful sense of humor, and they want you to enjoy life and have fun, rather than taking everything seriously. You will learn to feel their presence, whether or not you actually get a vision of them. You may have conversations, but that can be tricky for Westerners because words are created by the rational brain, which has nothing to do with awareness of angelic presence. Nevertheless, messages can come through very clearly; just allow it to happen, accept that you know what you know, and don’t argue with yourself about it. Some shamanic traditions believe everyone has power animals. These are guides perceived in a form that other cultures relate to, just as the Christian culture relates to the concept of angels. Animal guides have specific qualities according to their species, and although some teachers will say that you have a

couple of power animals with you for life, I have found that whoever turns up is what I need in that moment. For instance, I might feel the presence of elephant when I’m in a situation where I need to make myself really big. People often say, “How can I be sure the beings I am in touch with are benevolent?” The answer is, the same way you know your human friends are benevolent. It’s a sensation of rightness. When beings are really there to help you, you feel completely unconditional love emanating from them. Set the intention of connecting only with those whose choices are in alignment with yours, for your highest good; and so it will be. a Mikaya Heart is a spiritual mentor, an award-winning author, and a nomadic adventurer, exploring both inner and outer worlds.
