Another step we are looking to take as we adopt our new business model has to do with selling advertising space inside our aircraft. As of November, our aeroplanes will advertise a range of different brands and products. This isn’t a whim, as thanks to this decision we will be able to generate more income and transfer the savings to our passengers with special offers and rates as low as bus tickets.

i no fuera por la temperatura, las playas de la Región de Atacama podrían parecer perfectamente sacadas del Caribe. ¿Agua calma y turquesa, arena fina y blanca? Por cierto. Compruébelo usted mismo, recorriendo el precioso camino costero que une hacia el sur el puerto de Caldera con Huasco. Ahí aparecen las “piscinas” de Bahía Inglesa, la postal que es Playa La Virgen, la salvaje Bahía Salada o, un poco más allá, la solitaria belleza de Barranquilla. O hacia el norte, con dirección a Chañaral, por donde se llega a playas como Portofino, un nuevo y sorprendente paraíso de surfistas que se precia de tener algunas de las aguas más limpias de Chile.

Para más comodidad, puede ir con Geoturismo Chile (geoturismo-atacama.blogspot.cl), que organiza diferentes rutas por la zona, desde viajes por el día a Playa La Virgen hasta programas de dos noches en el Parque Nacional Pan de Azúcar.

Quizás sea aún mejor hacer este viaje desde el mar y arriba de los veleros de la Náutica La Rada (larada.webs.com), que organiza paseos en yate por la bahía. Se encuentran cerca del morro de Bahía Inglesa, 6 kilómetros al sur de Caldera, y sus dueños son los mismos que operan en el muelle el restorán Tumorrou, uno de los mejores de la zona, donde pueden probarse ceviches estilo peruano, ostiones vivos con limón o al ajillo y quesadillas con camarón, ostiones, tomates, albahaca, salsa ácida y lechuga, entre otras especialidades.

Y para quedarse en el agua hay más actividades, desde las excursiones de buceo que organiza Océano Aventura (oceanoaventura.cl) hasta clases de kitesurf con el Club Kitel (bahiainglesakitesur.cl), arriendo de tablas de SUP y kayaks con Bahía Incleta (bahiaincleta.cl) e incluso terapias con algas marinas que hace Alma Atacama (facebook.com/almatacama) en unas rústicas cabañas de totora sobre la arena.

Still crystal-clear waters and fine white sands? Of course. See for yourself, as you follow the convenient coastal road that links the port of Caldera to Huasco in the south: that’s where you’ll find the “swimming pools” of Bahía Inglesa, the picture-postcard Playa La Virgen, the wild Bahía Salado and, a little further down, the solitary beauty of Barranquilla. Or towards the north, heading to Chañaral, where you can reach beaches such as Portofino, a new and surprising surfer’s paradise that boasts the clearest waters in all of Chile.

Centro de operaciones Un buen lugar para comenzar la mañana en Caldera es el Caffé Museo de Casa Tornini (Paseo Gana 210; casatornini.cl), uno de los hitos más importantes del puerto. Además de tener buen café italiano, el lugar es una detención en sí misma por su historia: funciona en una casona que fue sede del consulado de Inglaterra para Caldera y Perú, y luego, en 1907, fue comprada por inmigrantes italianos –los Tornini–, cuyos descendientes la restauraron y convirtieron en museo.

Pero, además, Casa Tornini también opera como agencia de viajes y tiene un amplio abanico de salidas guiadas que exploran el notable pasado arqueológico y paleontológico de la zona. Así, pueden llevar turistas por el día a sitios como el llamado Zoológico de Piedra –situado 15 kilómetros al norte de Caldera, al lado de la Ruta 5, donde se encuentran rocas con curiosas formas de animales–; al llamado “cementerio de ballenas” –con fósiles de cerca de 80 ballenas prehistóricas que se encontraron en 2011 producto del ensanchamiento de la Panamericana

as the company takes tourists out over the bay in yachts. You can find them out by the hill in Bahía Inglesa, 6km south of Caldera, and the owners are the same people who run the Tumorrou restaurant on the pier. It’s one of the best in the region, and you can try great Peruvian cebiche, live scallops with lemon or chilli, and prawn, scallop, tomato, basil, tangy sauce and lettuce quesadillas, as well as many other specialities.

And if you'd like to stay in the water, there are many more activities to choose from, including SCUBA diving organised by Océano Aventura (oceanoaventura.cl), kitesurfing classes with Club Kitel (bahiainglesakitesur.cl), Stand Up Paddle and kayak hire from Bahía Incleta (bahiaincleta.cl), and even seaweed therapy from Alma Atacama (facebook.com/almatacama), in some rustic reed-roofed cabins on the sand.

Norte–; a la Quebrada de las Pinturas – un sitio arqueológico que contiene petroglifos de la cultura Molle-Las Ánimas, que datan del año 900 al 1.100 d.C–; e incluso a los restos del Camino del Inca que pasaba por la región, cuyas huellas todavía pueden ser trazadas.

Las rutas paleontológicas son incipientes en Caldera, pero el valor existe: estudios científicos han demostrado que en el pasado toda esta cuenca fue como el río Amazonas y estuvo habitada por cientos de especies marinas, cuyos fósiles siguen apareciendo en pleno desierto. En la ex Estación de Caldera se encuentra un pequeño museo paleontológico, administrado por la municipalidad, que cuenta esta historia y que ha ido mejorando en el último tiempo.

Los alrededores de Caldera también esconden un interesante patrimonio geológico. Uno de los sitios clásicos se encuentra a 11 kilómetros de Caldera, al norte de la playa El Rodillo. Se trata de las famosas piedras de granito orbicular, unas formaciones rocosas en círculos negros que solo existen aquí y en

Otro hito histórico es la mina San José, donde actualmente hay un parque manejado por Sernatur y que es atendido por uno de los 33 mineros, Jorge Galleguillos, quien puede guiar la visita por el lugar.

Operations Centre A great place to start the day in Caldera is at the Caffé Museo in Casa Tornini (Paseo Gana 210; casatornini.cl), one of the port’s most important landmarks. As well as great Italian coffee, it's like an interactive time capsule: The café works out of a townhouse that was once the British consulate for Caldera and Peru, and then, in 1907, it was bought by Italian immigrants –the Torninis- whose descendants restored it and made it a museum.

What’s more, Casa Tornini is also a tour agency and has a wide range of

guided trips to explore the interesting archaeological and paleontological history of the area. You can take a day trip to the so-called Stone Zoo –located some 15km to the north of Caldera, just off the Ruta 5, where you can find curious animal-shaped rocks-; or to the "whale cemetery” –with fossils of close to 80 prehistoric whales that were discovered in 2011 after the expansion of the Pan-American Highway-; or to the Canyon of Paintings -an archaeological site with Molle-Las Animas culture petroglyphs dating back to 900 to 1100 AD-; and even to the last

Córdoba, Argentina, y que por lo mismo fueron declaradas Santuario de la Naturaleza en 1981. Es un lindo paseo para ir con niños e ideal para sacar muy buenas fotografías del atardecer.

Otro hito histórico de la zona tiene que ver con la minería, y en este caso con uno de los lugares más famosos de Chile: la mina San José. Actualmente, el sector está convertido en un parque manejado por Sernatur y lo atiende uno de los 33 mineros, Jorge Galleguillos (aunque conviene contactarlo previamente para una visita guiada por él mismo al e-mail jorgegalleguillos@live.cl). Llamado “Centro Interpretativo”, se trata de una construcción de containers blancos con paneles

solares, donde hay fotos y videos que muestran la jornada de rescate y la repercusión mediática que tuvo.

Como está en altura, desde aquí se puede ver el lugar donde estuvieron las 33 banderas chilenas, el Campamento Esperanza, la zona por donde salieron los mineros, el hospital, el helipuerto. La visita vale la pena para entender la soledad del lugar y las condiciones en que se encontraban trabajando los mineros al momento del accidente. La cápsula Fénix 2, con la que se efectuó el rescate, se encuentra en el Museo Regional de Copiapó. Por lo general, los tures que se organizan desde Caldera incluyen –al regreso– una visita a esta exhibición.

remnants of the Inca Trail that passed through the area, and whose path can still be traced and followed even today.

The paleontological trips in Caldera are still in their early days, but the value is there: scientific studies have shown that in the past the whole area was similar to the Amazon and was inhabited by hundreds of marine species whose fossils continue to appear in the middle of the desert. At the former Caldera Station, there is a small paleontological museum that is run by the local council and that tells the story of Caldera's distant past, improving year on year.

Outside Caldera there is also a rich geological heritage. One of the classic sites is located 11km from Caldera, to the north of El Rodillo beach. These are the famous orbicular granite stones, rocks peppered with dark circles that exist only here and in Córdoba, Argentina, which led to the area being declared a Natural Sanctuary in 1981. It’s a great trip for kids and is perfect for sunset photography.

Another historic landmark in the region comes from its background in mining, and in this case it's one of Chile's most famous: the San José mine. Currently, the area has been converted into a park administered by Sernatur and is looked after by one of the 33 trapped miners, Jorge Galleguillos (although it’s a good idea to get in touch with him beforehand if you’d like a personal guided tour jorgegalleguillos@live.cl). The “Interpretive Centre” is made up of a number of white containers with solar panels housing photos and videos of the day the rescue took place and the media fallout that followed.

As the centre is high up, you can get a good view over where the 33 Chilean flags were flying at Campamento Esperanza where loved ones waited for their men to come home, the area where the miners were extracted, the hospital and the heliport. It’s worth the visit just to appreciate the solitude of the place and the conditions in which the miners were working when the incident happened. The Phoenix 2 capsule that brought the miners out of the darkness can be found in the Copiapó Regional Museum. In general, tours organised from Caldera include –on the way back- a visit to this exhibition.

EL BOOM DE LA ALMENDRA

Desde que la misión espacial no tripulada New Horizons de la Nasa envió las primeras noticias desde las cercanías de Plutón, las sorpresas suman y siguen.

Uno de los datos que más ha asombrado a los científicos es que el planeta tiene atmósfera. Sin embargo, el aspecto más llamativo hasta ahora es su inquietante parecido con la Tierra, cuestión que incluye regiones de agua congelada en su superficie. ¿Y cómo se formó el hielo?

Por ahora, los científicos no tienen una respuesta y desde ya calculan que tomarán un buen tiempo en determinar las causas del fenómeno.

La premisa era simple: dejar de consumir productos con azúcar añadida, alcohol y comida chatarra durante un mes. Y el hombre detrás de la idea era Sacha Harland, un holandés de 22 años que grabó un sorprendente documental sobre el tema. Marcada por el hambre, la vida de Harland se transforma en desastre consumiendo solo frutas, verduras y otros alimentos no procesados. Sin embargo, todo cambia a contar del día 25 del experimento, cuando el protagonista del documental comienza a sentir los beneficios de su nueva dieta, se siente más liviano, con más energía y sus exámenes médicos muestran avances notables.

El 82 por ciento de las almendras que se comen en el mundo provienen de California, Estados Unidos, uno de los escasos lugares del planeta donde crecen los almendros productores. Con un clima perfecto para el desarrollo del árbol, debido a su pujante demanda –pues sus grasas son excelentes para la salud–, su precio se ha duplicado en los últimos cinco años pese a que los agricultores aumentan cada temporada su producción al expandir sus huertos. A tanto ha llegado el boom que hasta han surgido los “robalmendras”, quienes obtienen hasta 160 mil dólares por un camión cargado con esta semilla.

NEWS FROM PLUTO Ever since NASA’s unmanned space mission New Horizons began to send back the first close-up images of Pluto, the surprises haven’t stopped coming. One of the most amazing facts that has stunned scientists is that the planet has an atmosphere. Nevertheless, the most striking characteristic is that the planet has an unsettling likeness to Earth, including surface regions with frozen water. So how was the ice formed? For now, scientists don’t have an answer, and they think it will be some time before they can determine the exact cause of the phenomenon.

A MONTH WITHOUT SUGAR The premise is simple: stop eating junk food, drinking alcohol or consuming products with added sugar for a month. The man behind the idea is Sacha Harland, a 22 yearold Dutchman who recorded a surprising documentary on the subject. Hunger is a constant presence, and Harland’s life becomes a disaster as he sticks to a fruit, vegetable and non-processed food diet. Nevertheless, it all changes on day 25 of the experiment when the star of the documentary begins to feel the benefits of his new diet: lighter, more energetic and with medical exams that show considerable improvements.

THE ALMOND BOOM Eighty-two percent of the almonds eaten all around the world come from California, United States, one of the few places in the world where productive almond groves thrive. The region’s climate is perfect for the tree’s development, and thanks to a recent spike in demand –as almond fats are great for your health-, prices have doubled in the last five years despite producers increasing output by expanding their orchards year on year. The boom has been so great that a new type of thief has appeared. Almond thieves steal the nuts by the truck load and one lorry load can fetch up to USD 160,000.

ojos de los extranjeros, la Patagonia es una sola gran región en el fin del mundo, quizá uno de los rincones más bellos y salvajes que quedan en la Tierra. Pero a ojos de un chileno –y de un argentino– se suele dividir en dos: fronteras de por medio, por un lado está la Patagonia argentina. Por otro, la chilena.

El lado argentino, mucho más amplio, con enormes planicies y menor vegetación, fue bendecido, entre otras cosas, por su facilidad de acceso. Lo espectacular es su ubicación: está a los pies de la cadena montañosa que encabeza el monte Fitz Roy, una de las más fotogénicas del planeta cuando se puede ver, pues sus picos –puntiagudas moles de granito, con paredes nevadas y glaciares colgantes– suelen estar cubiertos por una nube que los tehuelches confundían con humo. Para los indígenas, el Fitz Roy era el “Chaltén”; es decir, la “montaña que echa humo”.

Justamente, El Chaltén es la base de operaciones para los mejores escaladores del mundo que buscan conquistar las paredes verticales del Fitz Roy, y es lo que explica por qué la mayoría de las personas anda aquí con mochilas, bototos y bastones. Pero también existen decenas de senderos que se internan entre bosques y montañas. El principal es el que

THE BEST COMPLEMENT If you are tired of the quiet and calm of El Calafate, it’s worth noting that just a couple of hours away overground -220km away- is a perfect place for the hyperactive among you: this is El Chaltén, “the national capital of trekking”, as they call it on the Argentine side of the Andes.

The best part about getting there from El Calafate, besides being able to admire the beauty of the Pampa, is having the chance to visit a small cattle farm, La Leona, where it is said that outlaw Butch Cassidy once hid. These days there is a hotel and a café here, welcoming hundreds of tourists who stop off to see newspaper cuttings from the period detailing the gunslinger’s presence in Patagonia, the perfect place to hide away from the law.

But there are dozens of hiking trails weaving in and out of forests and mountains,

with the most popular path taking you up to the actual base camp of Cerro Torre, which is very similar to trails in Torres del Paine, just a little less green.

The best part is that, either before or after the hikes, there are some great places to stock back up on lost calories, whose names are fairly self-explanatory and which can be found all along Av. San Martín, the main street: La Cervecería (Av. San Martin 564), which has the best homemade beer in town; La Waflería (Av. San Martin 640), home to the best waffles, of course; and La Brasería (Av. Chosen in 2006 by Time magazine as the trendiest place in Santiago, the restaurant is spacious and modern, with cutting-edge design including an indoor terrace with a live DJ in summer, and an indoor patio with a large tree right in the middle. There’s even a space dedicated entirely to Peruvian cooking, with a cool, winding cebiche bar. Of course, all of this is set to the rhythm of loud electronic music.

There’s a strong Eastern influence on the menu here, with dishes inspired by China, Japan and Indonesia, as well as recipes with Mediterranean, Peruvian and even -off the menu- French airs to them.

The latter include duck confit, the most sought after by French expats in Chile.

From among the unmissable dishes, you have to try the Malay Prawns (CLP 7,900), that have been a staple of the menu since doors opened, and still cause a stir today: delicious Ecuadorian prawns sautĂŠed in a wok with rice, spring onion, ginger and a tasty sweet and sour anchovy sauce, all wrapped in a bamboo leaf. It's an intense, tasty, addictive dish, with marked smoky notes and a spicy kick. Abierto hace apenas unos meses a pasos de Los Cobres de Vitacura, este pequeño y sencillo local se especializa únicamente en preparaciones clásicas del Perú hechas como corresponde. No por nada quien está tras los fogones es el talentoso chef peruano Alexander Dioses, quien estuvo por años a cargo del restorán La Mar en Santiago.

Además de las deliciosas empanadas de lomo saltado y el imperdible cebiche mixto, es un deber probar el chaufa de mariscos, con pulpo blandísimo, camarones y aros de calamar, que por su gran sabor se lleva todo los aplausos.

Ojo con el menú a la hora de almuerzo los días de semana: cuesta 4.000 pesos e incluye bebida y postre.

Having opened its doors just a few months ago, a short walk from Los Cobres de Vitacura shopping centre, this small and simple eatery specialises in traditionally-prepared classic Peruvian dishes. It’s all you could expect, though, seeing as the man in the kitchen is talented Peruvian chef Alexander Dioses, who for years was the head chef at La Mar in Santiago.

Besides the delicious sautéed steak empanadas and unforgettable mixed cebiche, one dish you simply have to sample is the Chinese-fusion seafood rice, with melt-in-the-mouth octopus and squid rings, popular with punters thanks to its resounding flavours. Look out for the set lunch menu that’s on two days a week: it costs CLP 4,000 and comes with a drink and a pudding.

Un paseo por los mejores platos y restoranes de Hungría es lo que relató, de manera evocadora y poética, el escritor Pablo Neruda en su libro Comiendo en Hungría, lanzado a fines de los años 60 y que fue reeditado recientemente por la editorial de la Universidad Católica. Con fotografías en vez de ilustraciones, el libro hoy incluye el periplo culinario del poeta junto a su amigo escritor Miguel Ángel Asturias, con detalladas descripciones de cada uno de los lugares que visitaron, anécdotas cargadas de sabor y, por cierto, de alcohol. In his book “Comiendo en Hungría”, writer Pablo Neruda took us on a poetical and evocative journey around the country’s best dishes and restaurants. The book was released at the end of the 60s, and has been recently edited by Universidad Católica press.

There are now photographs instead of illustrations, and the book narrates the voyage undertaken by the poet and his friend Miguel Ángel Asturias, with detailed descriptions of each of the places they visited, anecdotes dripping with flavour and, of course, booze. Tras su primer rol protagónico en la serie Juana Brava, la actriz reconoce que hay pocos papeles relevantes para las mujeres en la televisión chilena. Además, aquí habla de la necesidad de financiamiento estatal para hacer producciones de calidad, de sus futuros proyectos y de su aplaudida faceta de escritora teatral.

Elisa Zulueta (34) no suele involucrarse en más de un proyecto a la vez y, por eso, aunque es una actriz que se ha hecho un nombre, ha realizado solo seis teleseries –Dama y obrero y Socias son las más reconocibles– y anota participaciones secundarias en cinco

películas. Al contrario de la mayoría de las figuras que aparecen en televisión, su reconocimiento lo ha logrado gracias al teatro y fundamentalmente por la obra Gladys, que escribió y dirigió en 2011.

Quizás por esa razón, Juana Brava viene a significar un punto de quiebre en su carrera. En la serie de TVN, que se estrenó en octubre, tiene su primer rol

Y no uno cualquiera: es una mujer combativa y que terminará convirtiéndose en alcaldesa. “Es evidente el guiño de Erin Brokovich en Juana, imagínate que lo voy a negar”, dice sobre el personaje que regresa al pueblo donde su padre es alcalde y comienza a alzar la voz por las numerosas injusticias y corrupción política que ocurren, mientras lidia al mismo tiempo con un rebelde hijo adolescente. Un paralelo evidente con el personaje real, Erin Brokovich,

quien luego personificó Julia Roberts.

“Pero es una inspiración, el personaje es distinto, es muy chilena, con problemas más precarios. Es una Erin sin seguro social, ni un vecino rubio que le cuida a los niños”, ataja con humor.

—Entre los temas que aborda la serie hay varios muy actuales a lo que está pasando en Chile.

—Totalmente. Y si bien existe el problema de la contaminación, como pasaba

con Erin Brokovich, el entorno donde se mueven es diferente, porque acá se trata de gente que no tiene ni casa. Es una serie muy chilena, en dónde la política y las malas prácticas son muy relevantes.

Es educación, es lucha y es denuncia.

Me inspiré en las mujeres del ANDHA, en Gladys Marín, en voceras de ONG, hasta en mi hermana. Fue un mix. De todas formas está tan bien escrito y Nimrod Amitai, el director, la tenía tan clara que me entregué a lo que él me pedía. Fue un aprendizaje.

—En televisión los roles principales recaen en los hombres, pero acá es una mujer, y además una mujer fuerte. ¿Cuánto machismo ves actualmente en la TV? —El machismo no está solamente en televisión, está en todas partes. En algunos lugares es pavoroso y en otros es

But this isn’t just any leading role: she plays a combative lady who becomes mayor of her local council. “You can see the references to Erin Brokovich in Juana, there’s no denying it”, says Zulueta of the character who returns to her home town where her father is mayor, and begins to speak out about the injustice and corruption she sees, all the while dealing with a rebellious teenage son. A storyline that draws parallels with the real-life Erin Brokovich, later played on the silver screen by Julia Roberts. “But it’s an inspiration, the character is different, she’s very Chilean, with more delicate

problems. This Erin has no social security, and doesn’t have a blonde neighbour to take care of the kids", she adds, jokingly.

—Among the topics dealt with on the show, there are a number that are relevant in modern-day Chile.

—Totally. And even though there’s a problem with pollution, like in Erin Brokovich, the environment and context the problems appear in is different, there are homeless people here. It’s a very Chilean series, where politics and bad practice are extremely relevant. It’s education, it’s struggle and it’s reporting injustices. I took inspiration from the women from ANDHA, from Gladys Marín, from NGO spokeswomen, even from my own sister. It was a mix. In any case, the series is so well written and Nimrod Amitai, the director, was so sure of what he wanted to do that I just went with it. It was a learning curve.

—On TV, leading roles tend to be for men but this time it was a woman, and a strong woman at that. How much chauvinism is there on TV? —Chauvinism isn’t just on TV, it’s everywhere. In some places it’s obvious and in others it's more subtle. In the case of fiction, it’s true that there are much fewer stories about women. Series are generally led by men, but Juana is a story that even though a woman is the star, she is the victim of male chauvinism in the world surrounding her. The story is about Juana speaking out and trying to change things, it says that things can be better, but it's difficult for her.

—The series was partly financed by CNTV, do you think that it’s a series that couldn’t have existed without state funding?

—Juana Brava is really well made and to be able to reach that standard, besides

más solapado. En el caso de la ficción, es cierto que hay menos historias femeninas. Las series generalmente las llevan los hombres, pero Juana es una historia que si bien es llevada por una mujer, es víctima del machismo imperante en los poderes fácticos. Es una historia en la cual Juana lleva la voz, en la que las cosas pueden cambiar. Todo podría ser mejor, pero se le hace muy difícil.

—La serie recibió fondos del CNTV para su realización, ¿sientes que es una serie que no podría haberse hecho sin dineros estatales?

—Juana Brava tiene una realización de altísima calidad y para que las cosas tengan ese estándar, además de personas talentosas, buen gusto y una buena investigación, se necesita financiamiento, eso es así. El CNTV va a sentirse

orgulloso de tener esta serie de carácter social y de denuncia entre sus proyectos. Es una historia muy necesaria para el contexto en el que estamos viviendo, un proyecto necesario y muy atingente.

Durante el primer semestre, la actriz trabajó para ser parte de la obra 80’s, el musical, que se presentó en el Teatro Providencia, y en el último tiempo ha estado promocionando la serie y esperando para integrarse a una nueva teleserie de TVN, canal con el que tiene contrato.

Pero, además, tiene planes de regresar al teatro como escritora, luego de estar en escena con La grabación, donde actuó junto a Delfina Guzmán.

—Llevas un tiempo sin escribir teatro, ¿ha sido una decisión?

—Sí, porque no escribo por escribir, lo hago cuando me viene una necesidad

profunda de hacerlo. Por eso no soy dramaturga, porque no es algo que haga todo el tiempo, no es mi oficio, sino que nace de una pulsión interna y que cuando aparece, la escucho y escribo. Y ahora la siento, y lo voy a hacer.

—¿Le asignas valor a que en Juana Brava tengas tu primer rol protagónico? ¿Hay un cambio de estatus para ti con ella?

—Lo que sientes es mucha responsabilidad. Eso sí. Además, grababa todo el día, todos los días, y eso hace que sientas que el proyecto es muy tuyo. Se arma una cofradía con el equipo y pasan a ser como tu familia por cinco meses.

Es muy intenso y eso tiene que ver un poco con ser protagonista y grabar mucho, porque la historia la lleva ella. Juana Brava fue un regalo, sin duda.

Besides all that, there are plans to get back into theatre as a writer, after acting alongside Delfina Guzmán in the play “La Grabación”.

—It’s been some time since you wrote a play, was that a conscious choice?

—Yes, because I don’t write for writing’s

You build up comradeship with the team and they become your family for five months. It’s very intense and that has to do with the fact that you're the star and film a lot, because the story revolves around you.

Juana Brava was a gift, definitely.

A eso se sumará la ya clásica y colorida Feria Fluvial de Valdivia, ubicada junto al río Valdivia, que también será parte del evento con los locatarios de siempre y una gran barra de pescados frescos. the El Cielo restaurant, Chilean chefs Rodolfo Guzmán and Ciro Watanabe, as well as renowned chefs from neighbouring regions.

JIMI HENDRIX / EXPERIENCE FREEDOM: ATLANTA POP FESTIVAL Una de las grandes preocupaciones de la era digital ha sido el rescate de material nunca antes editado. En el caso de músicos de breve trayectoria, las ediciones póstumas se han convertido en algo fundamental, a veces revelando momentos valiosos, y en otras, solamente con el signo peso como pretexto.

Jimi Hendrix, quien ha dado pie para la fabricación de muchos discos luego de su muerte en 1970, sigue siendo motivo de reediciones hasta hoy. Tocando esa misma cuerda nace Freedom: Atlanta Pop Festival, un álbum doble grabado dos meses y medio antes de su muerte.

Yendo al grano, la pregunta obvia es ¿hay elementos que hacen que este álbum en particular merezca ser escuchado por sobre otras de las muchas grabaciones en vivo de The Jimi Hendrix Experience? Y la respuesta es: sí, las hay. Y si son suficientes como para animarse a oírlo, ya es asunto del auditor.

El show, efectuado el 4 de julio de 1970, sería en el que Hendrix enfrentaría a la mayor audiencia de toda su carrera, 110

tocando ante un gentío de entre 300 y 400 mil personas. Y, a pesar de que Billy Cox había entrado a reemplazar al bajista original del trío, Noel Redding, tras más de dos meses de ensayos, la nueva formación sonaba ajustada y sólida.

Dentro de las 16 canciones, salen a relucir las sabrosas versiones de “Voodoo Child”, “Straight ahead” y “Hear my train a comin’”. Porque Hendrix demostraba su talento de forma espontánea y en vivo era capaz de ejecutar melodías memorables.

One of the greatest endeavours of the digital era has been to seek out and revive never-before-edited material. In the case of musicians whose careers were cut short, posthumous releases have become a mainstay, sometimes unveiling priceless moments, but sometimes just to drum up a few more bucks.

Jimi Hendrix, who left plenty of material behind for the many albums since his death in 1970, is still one of the most re-released artists of modern times. This new

album, Freedom: Atlanta Pop Festival, is the latest in a long line, and is made up of two disks of material recorded two and a half months before his death.

Getting to the point, though, the question is an obvious one: is there anything here that makes this album stand out from the many other live recordings of The Jimi Hendrix Experience? And the answer is simply: yes, there is. Whether there is enough, though, is up to each individual listener.

The show, which took place on 4th July, 1970, was played in front of the largest audience Hendrix ever faced, around 300 to 400 thousand people. And, despite Billy Cox replacing the trio’s original bassist, Noel Redding, just two months before the performance, the new line up sounds tight and solid.

The 16 songs on the record include tasty versions of “Voodoo Chile”, “Straight Ahead” and “Hear my Train a Comin’”.

Because Hendrix was a truly spontaneous talent, in his live shows he was capable of producing unforgettable melodies.

Famous for their tracks “Walking on a Dream” and “We Are the People”, as well as for their eye-catching live shows, the band will take the chance to showcase their new album “Is the Is Are”. Creamfields en Buenos Aires

The Argentine singer will take the stage once again in Santiago alongside illustrators Liniers and Alberto Montt, after a successful tour of Spain and Israel. The concerts are audio-visual shows, and there are two dates set at the Teatro Corpartes theatre on 19th and 20th November, based around the singer-songwriter’s last album: “Songs & Canciones, The Music of Kevin Johansen + The Nada”, an anthology of the best of his studio work. Creamfields in Buenos Aires El 14 de noviembre se llevará a cabo en el Autódromo de Buenos Aires una nueva versión de Creamfields, uno de los festivales electrónicos más importantes del mundo que este año tendrá a decenas de los mejores DJ’s de la escena mundial.

Con fechas confirmadas en Perú y Chile, su versión trasandina tendrá a artistas como Paul Oakenfold, los hermanos estadounidenses The Martinez Brothers y la dupla canadiense Art Department, entre otros. This 14th November will see the Autódromo in Buenos Aires play host to the latest outing of the Creamfields festival, one of the world’s biggest electronic music events that will this year see dozens of the top DJs in the world descend on Argentina’s capital. SKY SE POSICIONA COMO LA AEROLÍNEA CHILENA CON MENOS RECLAMOS SEGÚN UN ESTUDIO REALIZADO POR EL SERNAC Y LA JUNTA AERONÁUTICA CIVIL, ENTRE ENERO Y AGOSTO DE 2015 LOS PASAJEROS TOTALES TRANSPORTADOS EN EL PAÍS (INCLUYE TRÁFICO DOMÉSTICO E INTERNACIONAL), SUPERÓ LOS 11,9 MILLONES, EN TANTO LOS RECLAMOS DE ESTE TIPO DE PASAJEROS ALCANZÓ LOS 3.729, LO CUAL REPRESENTA UN 0,031% DEL TOTAL DE PASAJEROS.

Una vez más SKY es la aerolínea chilena con menor tasa de reclamos durante el segundo cuatrimestre de 2015, alcanzando sólo 36,6 quejas por cada 100 mil pasajeros transportados, según el Informe Estadístico de Reclamos de Transporte Aéreo Chileno que elaboran en conjunto la Junta Aeronáutica Civil y el Sernac, correspondiente al segundo cuatrimestre del año.

Según se detalla en el Informe, los pasajeros totales transportados

en el país entre enero y agosto de este año -tanto en vuelos nacionales como internacionales- superó los 11,9 millones, en tanto los reclamos alcanzaron los 3,729, lo cual representa un 0.031% del total de pasajeros.

Según el ranking, de las aerolíneas chilenas, SKY es la que menos reclamos acumula, seguida por LAN con 37,4 y en último puesto Aerodesierto con 77,6 reclamos por cada 100 mil pasajeros. La mayor cantidad de reclamos se concentró

durante julio coincidiendo con la temporada alta de vacaciones de invierno en nuestro país.

Ya en 2014, SKY fue la aerolínea con menor tasa de reclamos del país, mejorando sustancialmente en comparación con 2013 y por lejos la mejor de bandera nacional.

Según se detalla las principales causas de reclamos están vinculadas a la “cancelación o retraso del vuelo”, al “incumplimiento de contrato” y a “problemas con el equipaje”.

DURING THE SAME PERIOD, THERE WERE 3,729 COMPLAINTS, REPRESENTING 0.031% OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PASSENGERS.

Once again, SKY has become the Chilean airline with the lowest number of complaints received during the second four-month period of 2015. A mere 36.6 complaints per 100 thousand passengers were received according to the Chilean Air Transport Authority's Complaints Report, drawn up alongside the Civil Aviation Council and SERNAC for the second four-month period of the current year.

According to the study, between January and August 2015, more

than 11.9 million passengers (both domestic and international) took to the skies in Chile. During the same period, there were 3,729 complaints, representing 0.031% of the total number of passengers.

In the overall ranking of Chilean airlines, SKY is the company that has received least complaints, followed by LAN with 37.4 and finally Aerodesierto with 77.6 complaints per 100 thousand passengers. The largest number of complaints came in July, coinciding

with the peak season for winter holidays in Chile.

In 2014, SKY also took home the prize for least complaints received, achieving a vast improvement on 2013 and by far the best result in Chile.

According to the report, complaints were mostly due to “flight cancellations or delays”, “non-fulfilment of contractual obligations” and “problems with luggage".
