8 9 10 11

Barcelona Smart Moto Challenge is an international competition between universities which is based on designing and building an urban, smart, electric motorbike. This competition took place from the 3rd until the 6th of July 2014. Each contestants had to match all the technical requirements set by the competition, passing dynamic and static tests to evaluate both smart components and dynamics. Ampeer was born with the objective of taking part in such challenge, using the experience gained in the previous edition with the design of BRUC 01. The team is formed by students from the universities ETSEIB (UPC) and ELISAVA (UPF), so there’s a mix of engineering and design students.

Although in Barcelona the team had several technical problems, we reached the 2nd position of the Static Event and the 4th position in the overall classification. Not being satisfied with the results, the team worked hard trying to solve these problems and improve some other things for the next competition in Moscow, in which the good results became, such as the 1st position of the Static Event and 2nd position in the overall classification. To check more information about the BRUC 02 or the development of the new BRUC 03, you can go to the official web from the Ampeer Team: www.ampeerteam.com

The Bruc 02 is an electric and urban bike designed for students. It has a scooter body, the chassis which is made from aluminium tube section. Being scooter can be driven easily and can carry backpacks or bags between the feet, like in the black and yellow box located between the handlebars and seat. The box is removable, a fact that allows completely change the image of the bike, depending on how the user want to take its ride. Lithium batteries are located in the area of the feet. One of the strengths of this prototype is the ability to regenerate energy by brake system, thanks to supercapacitors. Thus, Bruc 02 has two engines, front and rear, a fact which optimizes energy.

ONZU Final Degree Project Teamwork: Thais Soler & me Onzu, contrary to the current interactive systems, presents a three dimensional physical format, suitable for anyone. It takes us apart from the screens and phones that are causing so much social dependence through a simple and basic inner system. Onzu is a good tool for work, education and leisure time. Even so, the best of it, is that it was designed to be multi-functional. So...

Onzu is a multi-functional interactive system designed for people with a continuous present and future development.

Reactable, developed by the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona

Onzu was born from the idea to get further away from the actual interactive systems which surrounds us.

We had to achieve to develop a product which can connect to other systems and adapt to its user and its needs.

Our main inspiration and starting point was the Reactable, a music table which gives visual and audio feedback to the user when he puts a cube on the table. So we though, why we cannot connect this system to our daily life (such as control our house lights)? Why we still working only in two dimensions and not three? Why only we can make music and not do other stuff? Could this system adapt to our needs? Here was our main goal.

So we began thinking on how Onzu would look like, and we concluded that it should be as the Reactable, but with the housing smaller and just two cubes. Later we decided to develop a game (Simon) for children to demonstrate that this technology is possible and also not to expensive.

The housing and platform operation are common, only the design of the cubes will be different depending on the application or functions that you want to do. At first, we divided these functions in 5 groups which can be more while Onzu its being developed. The user only needs to place these cubes facing the right side on top of the housing, without using complicated programs for some users.

CORIAN SWING Corian by DuPont Workshop Teamwork: Group of 3 people & me Corian is the brand name for a solid surface material created by DuPont. It is composed of acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate (ATH). Corian can be thermoformed by heating it to 300 °F (150 °C), allowing unique shapes to be created.

To improve its image, the product has been merged with red and it has added texture and typography using the CNC machine. Also it’s made by three pieces, which have the same radius of curve, would reduce time and costs of production.

The CorianSwing is a rocking chair made of Corian aimed at children up to 3 years old.

The advantages of having used Corian in our product are: excellent hygiene and easy production by thermoforming process.

38 39 40 41

Project done with the collaboration of IMC Toys brand. We developed a new collection of toys, which had to be sold in kiosks for less than 5 Euros.

The main objective of the game is to push the other car farther away than yours, from the middle of the track.

Panzeos is a collection of four families of cars, that have a secret mechanism inside which activates their own attack system.

For more information about the project, you can go to the Panzeos website (panzeos.wix.com/panzeos).

Developing sketch process & inner mechanism to attack

A long time ago, Panzea was a dreamland. All the population, the Panzeos, lived thinking about all that surround them was infinite. When all the primary resources began decreasing, the wars started. There was no winner... All the people of Panzea separated, taking cover in different places which were safer for them. Slowly, new ways of life appeared and then, new cultures. However, these new societies realized that in their zones there were not other vital resources. So now, as a survival way, the Panzeos begin a new cruise between them, to get the hegemony of all resources of Pangea. Panzeos battle track, both cars are placed opposite each other. The car which is farther from the middle after the crash, loses. Magnets are hidden through the track to activate the attack mechanism and have more chances to win the round

This version has details that gives to the car look more aggressive and futuristic, such the LED lights or a wide side air entrance. It also includes the two stripe vinyl to remember some of the most legendary Mustang models.

During this process, we had to manage some problems with the 3D model, specially with the space between the roundings and chamfers.
