Forest Park Trolley Rider Tips: One-Day Trolley tickets can be purchased onboard the Trolley (exact change required), at Perk Café inside the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center, and at the Planetarium Ticket Station at the Saint Louis Science Center. Each Trolley ticket allows unlimited on & off
privileges for the day the fare is purchased. Valid Metro passes are acceptable fares for the Forest Park Trolley. Visitors who are combining MetroLink or MetroBus with the Forest Park Trolley should consider purchasing the Metro Adventure Pass. Available at Metro Ticket Vending Machines located at all MetroLink stations, the Metro Adventure Pass provides unlimited single-day rides on MetroLink, MetroBus, the Forest Park Trolley and Downtown Trolley, and lets visitors easily explore Forest Park and other attractions throughout the region. Forest Park Trolley tickets and the Metro Adventure Pass can also be purchased at the MetroStore, located at 7th and Washington in downtown St. Louis. The MetroStore is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to construction from the Loop Trolley Project, passengers at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station will need to board the #3 Forest Park Trolley at the corner of Pershing and DeBaliviere Avenues, just north of the station. Trolley Head Signs – #3 Forest Park Trolley vehicles coming from the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink station are identified as Southbound – To Science Center. Forest Park Trolley vehicles heading toward the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station are identified as Northbound – To Forest Park MetroLink Station. The #3 Forest Park Trolley is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Information on Obtaining Senior Reduced Fare Permits Seniors (age 65 and older) and the disabled can ride MetroBus, MetroLink and the Forest Park Trolley at a reduced rate. Qualifying individuals must complete the following: Apply in person at the MetroStore, located at 7th and Washington in downtown St. Louis, MetroStore hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Show a government-issued picture identification card verifying age (age 65 and older). Acceptable forms of identification include a state vehicle driver's license, state ID, passport or alien registration card. Additional Traffic Support for Forest Park While the #3 Forest Park Trolley will have a meaningful impact on alleviating traffic in Forest Park this summer, a Traffic Relief Route will again be implemented as an additional measure on especially busy days. When traffic congestion is particularly heavy at Forest Park’s popular Hampton entrance, the Park Rangers will put this Relief Route in motion. This effort is done in coordination with MoDOT as a means to reduce backups and closures on Interstate 64 at Hampton Avenue. To prevent traffic back-
ups and highway closures, the Traffic Relief Route will direct drivers from Hampton on a circular path through the Park, past many available parking lots at the Festival & Parking Plaza at the Upper Muny, the Visitor Center and ultimately along Government Drive and the Saint Louis Zoo. After parking, visitors may then hop on the Trolley to reach their destination and navigate Forest Park. Loop Trolley Construction The Loop Trolley project will impact MetroBus routes serving Forest Park for the next several months. The changes are necessary to accommodate Loop Trolley construction work and the closure and demolition of the DeBaliviere Bridge at Forest Park Parkway. Until September 27, the #90 Hampton will not provide service into Forest Park, and will instead reroute around Forest Park via Kingshighway Blvd. and Pershing Avenue. During this period, passengers connecting to the #90 Hampton from the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station will need to board the bus at the corner of Pershing and DeBaliviere Avenues, just north of the MetroLink station, due to the closure of the DeBaliviere Bridge. Passengers at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station will also need to board the #3 Forest Park Trolley at the corner of Pershing and DeBaliviere Avenues. The Nazi Party developed a sophisticated propaganda machine that deftly spread lies about its political opponents, Jews, and the need to justify war. But Nazi p ro p a g a n d a w a s m u c h m o re complex than that. For the Nazis to achieve power and pursue their racial policies and expansionist war efforts, a much more nuanced picture had to be painted—one that would appeal to broad swaths of the population, not just a fanatical extreme. Featuring rarely seen artifacts, State of Deception: The Power of Nazi Propaganda draws visitors into a rich multimedia environment vividly illustrating the insidious
allure of much of Nazi propaganda. The exhibition opens at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park on April 11, 2015 and will be on display through September 7, 2015. “Adolf Hitler was an avid student of propaganda and borrowed techniques from the Allies in World War I, his Socialist and Communist rivals, the Italian Fascist Party, as well as modern advertising,” says exhibition curator Steven Luckert. “Drawing upon these models, he successfully marketed the Nazi Party, its ideology, and himself to the German people.” The exhibition reveals how shortly after World War I, the Nazi Party began to transform itself from an obscure, extremist group into the largest political party in democratic Germany. Hitler early on recognized how propaganda, combined with the use of terror, could help his radical party gain mass support and votes. He personally adapted the ancient symbol of the swastika and the emotive colors of red, black, and white to create the movement’s flag. In doing so, Hitler established a potent visual identity that has branded the Nazi Party ever since. After seizing power, the Nazi Party took over all communications in Germany. It marshaled the state’s resources to consolidate power and relentlessly promote its vision of a “racially pure,” utopian Germany that needed to defend itself from
those who would destroy it. Jews were cast as the primary enemies, but others, including Roma, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and mentally and physically d i s a b l e d p e r s o n s , w e re a l s o portrayed as threats to the “national community.” As Germany pushed the world i n t o w a r, N a z i p r o p a g a n d a rationalized Germany’s territorial expansion as self-defense. Jews were depicted as agents of disease and corruption. The Nazis’ actions against them, in Germany and occupied countries, were promoted as necessary measures to protect the population at large. Admission to State of Deception is free. The Missouri History Museum has been active in the St. Louis community since 1866. Founding members established the organization “for the purpose of saving from oblivion the early history of the city and state.” Today, the Missouri History Museum seeks to deepen the understanding of past choices, present circumstances, and future possibilities; strengthen the bonds of the community; and facilitate solutions to common problems. Due to its innovative approach to public service, the Missouri History Museum was the first recipient of the Institute of Museum and Library Services N a t i o n a l Aw a rd f o r M u s e u m Services in 1994.

The Hillsboro 2000 & Beyond committee is excited to announce the lineup for the 6th Annual Summer Concert Series sponsored by Roger Jennings, Consolidated Communications and Patton Mining. Additionally, large scale festivals such as SXSW, LouFest, Fair St. Louis, and Red Gorilla, among many others, have exposed Clockwork to an ever-growing audience of supporters. Clockwork has been featured in Alternative Press magazine, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and countless
other publications and television outlets. They have been fortunate to have shared the stage with Chuck Berry, The Urge, Never Shout Never, Bret Michaels, Paul Banks of Interpol, Lucky Boys Confusion, and Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, among others. Clockwork has received radio airplay on over 150 mainstream and college radio stations throughout the United States and Canada, and have signed television licensing agreements for their music to be featured on MTV, E!, Discovery, Speed, and Lifetime television network programming, among others. July 4 – Funky Butt Brass Band (New Orleans Style Brass) St. Louis, MO Funkybuttbrassband.com Due to a rainout last season we’re bringing the FBBB back to wow the holiday crowd! The FBBB takes classic New Orleans brass tunes and gives them a twist, in the style of Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth and Bonerama. But don’t be surprised if you also hear some Motown, Southern rock, Memphis soul, Chicago blues and St. Louis R&B in the mix. The band was named Best Funk/Soul Band at the Riverfront Times Music Awards for the fourth straight year. They have played such festivals as Roots N Blues N BBQ, Blissfest, Taste of St. Louis, Gumbo Ya Ya and the Big Muddy Blues Festival. And Funky Butt Brass Band has shared the stage with some legendary Louisiana artists, including Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, Bonerama, Chubby Carrier and Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Roll, Soul, Blues) Vandalia, IL Old Capital Square Dance Club plays a combination of mostly their original songs and occasionally a cover of artists such as Hank Williams, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Band, George Jones, Merle Haggard, The Byrds and more! Some evenings include an additional fiddle and lap steel player as well as their beloved friend and pianist, Tim Sullivan. With seven players combined, Old Capital Square Dance Club becomes The Old Capital Orchestra. August 7 – Bones Jugs N Harmony (Eclectic) Urbana, IL Bonesjugs.com It’s not world music nor folk music. It’s not rock, blues, bluegrass, country nor jazz. It’s not anything in particular. Bones, jug, xylophone, kazoos, steel pan, resonator guitar, banjo, double bass, drums, all sorts of noise makers. These are just some of the instruments Bones Jugs N Harmony use to conjure up their eclectic acoustic sound. It’s Frank Zappa meets Spike Jones, it’s Looney Tunes meets Nintendo. It’s seriously silly. It’s a party. It’s for dancing, for listening, for enjoying. It’s for adults. It’s for kids. It’s for everyone. Bones Jugs N Harmony believes music should bring joy, and they work hard to put this in every song. From the first note till the end they strive to send their joyful sound into the ears where it will quickly saturate the entire body. It’s a frenzy of frivolity, a marvel of merriment. In short, it’s just loads of fun.

QuickGlance Movie Reviews
"Child 44"
The best-selling novel "Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith runs well over 400 pages, and that's perhaps the first hint as to why the movie based on it seems to veer in 40 different directions. It's a political movie. It's a war film. It's a crime thriller. And suddenly, late in the proceedings, it becomes an action movie. At 137 minutes, the movie's also a good half-hour too long. It's as if director Daniel Espinosa and screenwriter Richard Price felt the need to include something from each of the book's pages. Ultimately, what we have left is a bloated, grim, underwhelming affair, which is unfortunate — because the movie starts out with a lot going for it. Besides the popular source material and the compelling backdrop of fear and repression in the Soviet Union under Josef Stalin, the film has an excellent cast starring the always interesting Tom Hardy as a self-questioning military hero, intelligence operative and amateur gumshoe. (It's worth noting that one opinion in Russia has already been registered: that of the government, which on Wednesday scrapped the film's release there, saying it distorts history and casts the Soviet Union as "a sort of Mordor, populated by physically and morally defective sub-humans, a bloodbath on screen involving Orcs and vampires.") After a sad prologue from his boyhood, we meet Leo Demidov (Hardy, sporting a very thick Russian accent) in World War II Berlin, where he becomes an accidental hero by virtue of being the one to raise his country's flag above the Reichstag. We then jump to 1953; Demidov is an officer in the MGB, the Soviet intelligence agency (and KGB forerunner), tasked with tracking down traitors. This is a world where, as one character notes, it can be "just our turn" to be denounced and arrested as a spy. And indeed, things turn difficult for Demidov when his MGB boss, Kuzman (Vincent Cassel) orders him to investigate his own wife, Raisa (a sensitive Noomi Rapace). RATED: R by the Motion Picture Association of America "for violence, some disturbing images, language and a scene of sexuality." RUNNING TIME: 137 minutes. ASSOCIATED PRESS RANKING: One and a half stars out of four.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron"
It will surely stand as one of the most peculiar and possibly ironic entries in a director's filmography that in between Joss Whedon's two "Avengers" films there reads "Much Ado About Nothing": a low-budget, black-and-white Shakespeare adaption sandwiched between two of the most gargantuan blockbusters ever made. In "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Whedon (and Marvel's) sequel to the third highest grossing film of all-time, there is definitely aplenty ado-ing. Too much, certainly, but then again, we come to the Avengers for their clown-car excess of superheros, their colorful coterie of capes. What binds Whedon's spectacles with his Shakespeare are the quips, which sail in iambic pentameter in one and zigzag between explosions in the others. The original 2012 "Avengers" (which featured the rarest of superhero movie insults: "mewling quim") should have had more of them, and there's even less room in the massive — and massively overstuffed — "Age of Ultron" for Whedon's dry, self-referential wit. As a sequel, "Age of Ultron" could have amped up the brio. But it instead pushes further into emotionality and complexity,
10
On the Edge of the Weekend
adding up to a full but not particularly satisfying meal of franchise building, and leaving only a bread-crumb trail of Whedon's banter to follow through the rubble. The action starts predictably with the Avengers, now assembled, assaulting a remote HYDRA base in the fictional, vaguely Eastern European snowy republic of Sokovia. They are a weaving force: Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, Chris Evans's Captain America, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye. What "Age of Ultron" has going for it, as such references prove, is a sense of fun, a lack of self-seriousness that persists even when things start going kablooey — something not always evident in other faux-serious superhero films. (I'm looking at you, "Man of Steel.") RATED: PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for "intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence and destruction." RUNNING TIME: 141 minutes. ASSOCIATED PRESS RANKING: Two and a half stars out of four.
"The Age of Adaline"
Is it possible for a movie to be at once ludicrously silly and genuinely moving? That's the strange question you might find yourself asking while watching "The Age of Adaline," a romantic fantasy with surprising heft that will likely have you scoffing at one moment, then furtively wiping away a tear the next. It'll also have you marveling at the emotional resonance that a seasoned pro like Harrison Ford, Ellen Burstyn or Kathy Baker can bring to a supporting turn. Ford, in particular, takes what could have been a solid but unspectacular role and turns it into the film's highlight — and perhaps one of his better performances in years. It's no accident that the poignancy of Ford's performance comes from his evocation, as a middle-aged father, of both the pleasure and pain that aging brings — both the wellearned wisdom and the inevitable regrets. The entire film, directed by Lee Toland Krieger, is about age and our common assumption that younger is always better. Not so fast, the film is telling us. Smooth, unwrinkled skin and ungraying hair isn't everything. Of course, when that skin and hair belongs to gorgeous Blake Lively, it's not easy to have much sympathy at first. Lively grows on you gradually in the role of Adaline, a young woman with a big secret. We first meet her as she's arranging for a new identity, fake passports and all. Back in her apartment, we see hints that she's not all she seems: fraying, sepia photographs, or a dusty old manual typewriter. Turns out that Adaline, though we're in the present time, was born in 1908. She married, had a daughter, lost her husband and then, at 29, almost drowned when a car accident landed her in frigid waters. Somehow, a scientific process involving a bolt of lightning both revived her heart and, yes, stopped her from aging. RATED: PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America "for a suggestive comment." RUNNING TIME: 112 minutes. ASSOCIATED PRESS RANKING: Two and a half stars out of four.
"Hot Pursuit"
"Hot Pursuit" has all the trappings of a buddy comedy except that whole comedy part. The pairing of Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara, like
May 14, 2015
the recent Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart comedy "Get Hard," is predicated on the distance between the two in height and culture. But, good lord, where are the jokes? Witherspoon plays an uptight, low-ranking San Antonio police officer named Cooper. In her first major assignment since accidentally tasering a teenager (not the best timing for police brutality gags), she's sent with a partner to protect a drug lord set to testify in court, along with his wife, Daniella (Vergara). A shootout at their house leaves the husband dead and sends Cooper and Daniella on the run. They make an odd couple: an inexperienced but straight-as-an-arrow cop and a haughty, high-heeled trophy wife trailing her luggage. The film, directed by Anne Fletcher ("The Guilt Trip") and penned by "Ben and Kate" scribes David Feeney and John Quaintance, strains to find reason to keep the two on the lam. A corrupt police department excuse is cooked up and not one but two cell phones are destroyed. As the two navigate the Texas countryside, they survive by exploiting the sexist underestimations of their male pursuers and those that get in their way. This is a promising enough conceit, and one wants to root for "Hot Pursuit," the rare studio comedy led by women both in front and behind the camera. RATED: PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for "sexual content, violence, language and some drug material." RUNNING TIME: 87 minutes. ASSOCIATED PRESS RANKING: One star out of four.
"Maggie"
Would you stand by your child if she was slowly dying of a gruesome and highly contagious illness? That's the central question that Arnold Schwarzenegger has to face in "Maggie," a terminal illness drama where the malady at hand involves morphing into a member of the flesh-eating undead. Director Henry Hobson's film imagines a world devastated by zombies — although no one ever says that word. Instead of turning to genre conventions, though, "Maggie" stays small, intimate, and fascinatingly realistic. Set in a small Midwestern town, society is still tenuously functioning amid the breakout. Hospitals diagnose the afflicted and set terms for mandatory quarantines before the diseased turn truly dangerous. The police, also, are there to enforce. Other institutions, though, are all but abandoned. Gas stations are empty and electricity is unreliable. For many, life continues as normally as possible. There are no rogue bands of hostile survivalists competing over bunkers and land and no massive zombie armies attacking. "Maggie" is zombie tale that is more interested in the microcosm — the effects of the virus on the family unit and the community, not the shocks and thrills of an all-out war. If this seems like a surprising choice for Schwarzenegger, it is. Even more surprising? He's pretty great. The heart of the movie is the relationship between Wade (Schwarzenegger) and his teenage daughter Maggie (Abigail Breslin). She's infected and missing when the film starts, but Wade searches for two weeks to find her and bring her back to the country home that he shares with his new wife (Joely Richardson) and their young children. There, Wade waits for Maggie to transform, trying to spend as much time with her as possible in the interim. Maggie, in turn, fluctuates between all the emotions of dealing with a life cut too short — and her fatal, itchy and grotesque wound. RATED: PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for "disturbing thematic material including bloody images, and some language." RUNNING TIME: 95 minutes. ASSOCIATED PRESS RANKING: Two stars out of four.

This image released by Lionsgate shows Harrison Ford in a scene from "The Age of Adaline."
"The Age of Adaline" ludicrous and moving By JOCELYN NOVECK Associated Press Is it possible for a movie to be at once ludicrously silly and genuinely moving? That's the strange question you might find yourself asking while watching "The Age of Adaline," a romantic fantasy with surprising heft that will likely have you scoffing at one moment, then furtively wiping away a tear the next. It'll also have you marveling at the emotional resonance that a seasoned pro like Harrison Ford, Ellen Burstyn or Kathy Baker can bring to a supporting turn. Ford, in particular, takes what could have been a solid but unspectacular role and turns it into
the film's highlight — and perhaps one of his better performances in years. We first meet her
as she's arranging for a new identity, fake passports and all. Looking like a young Blake Lively forever might not seem much of a problem. But it's a lonely existence, because once she hits 45 or so, Adaline arouses suspicion. She has to
basically live on the run, changing identities every decade. She also can't live with her daughter, who's aging normally, which means she can only live with her dog — or succession of dogs, since each will die, sadly, at a normal rate. Then one day, Adaline meets a handsome, s o u l f u l y o u n g e n t re p re n e u r ( M i c h i e l Huisman, of "Game of Thrones"). She tries to resist his advances, but he won't take "no" for an answer. And when he asks her to accompany him on a visit to his parents (Ford and Baker) for a weekend, she finds herself accepting. It is here, because of a plot twist that would be unfair to reveal, that things get really, really complicated.
"The Age of Ultron" hits the mark By ROBERT GRUBAUGH Of The Edge My business is the movies, so when my brother got married three years ago on what turned out to be the biggest opening weekend in Box Office history, I made sure that we remark on that fact every May 5th. This year, as Bryan and Julie celebrate their third anniversary, I've had a chance to atone (not the right word, but go with it) for missing out on the 2012 premiere of The Avengers by being amply prepared for its first sequel, The Age of Ultron. The new movie might not have eclipsed the record $207 million take of its predecessor, but what's thirteen or fourteen million dollars between friends? The so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe is really starting to take
shape as a world unto itself (think Springfield of the Simpson's fame) thanks in large part to franchises based on the great heroes that inhabit many of these titles like Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). This time around, though, director Joss Whedon (who I keep telling people should have stuck with Buffy the Vampire Slayer) brings the wellintentioned plotting of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo, even when he is The Hulk) to task for creating Ultron (voiced by James Spader) as an artificial intelligence that was created to protect Earth and its inhabitants from returning threats. The problem is that Ultron only thinks that this can properly be accomplished by destroying
humanity, and chiefly by eliminating the Avengers before they can do even more damage. Able to consume all of human history and knowledge in two seconds and Ultron is ready to decide that we have no future if left to our own devices. Other heroes pop in and out through a quintet of well-designed, colorfully believable action scenes, but they're almost becoming too many to name. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) gets a B-story about his charming family life that's been hidden from everyone until they need a truly safe place to hide out. Hulk and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) have a timid romance that hinges on more of a doctor/ therapist dynamic. Whedon is allegedly getting death threats over this development, but the plot is thin
enough to think disgruntled fanboys and fangirls will forget all about it by the time Ant-Man opens in July. New to the fray are Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a speedy new vision of the character after his debut in another Marvel property last year - Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and his twin sister, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), a chilling and powerful psychic sorceress that isn't given much to do until far too late into this picture. I found the humor (campy and otherwise) and the brisk pacing of a 155-minute film to be delightful. Cameos by Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, and Colbie Smulders are thoroughly enjoyable, but the meat of this movie lies in the execution by Spader of one malevolent, ultimate villain. I've
May 14, 2015
never been a fan of the actor in his celebrated TV roles (Boston Legal, I think was one of his shows), but I'm here to tell you that he nailed the detached, cold voiceover role of Ultron. His main nemesis, not Stark's Iron Man, is a new character that I think might be a spoiler to announce, but I'm going to say anyway that he's played by Paul Bethany and is a forward thinker with his sights set on the horizon. If you don't read me yet, I'm sure you'll have Goggled it by the time you finished this sentence. Avengers: Age of Ultron runs 156 minutes and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence and destruction, and for some suggestive comments. I give this film three stars out of four.

For this project, Carter heavily researched field recordings of folklorists like Alan Lomax and John Work III at the Library of Congress to discover the music that her paternal grandfather, who worked as a coal miner in Alabama, would have heard in the Deep South during the first half of the 20th century. Inspired by those sounds, Carter deftly opens up marches, dirges, and ballads to her improvisatory style with a tone that is lighter here than her usual dark amber hue, but with playing that is just as captivating as ever. • Brunch at the Bistro with Tommy Halloran's Guerrilla Swing May 17, 10am - 2pm Ferring Jazz Bistro (Jazz St. Louis is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization) 3536 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103 $34.95 per person (cash bar available) $17.95 for children 10 and under h t t p : / / w w w. j a z z s t l . o r g / experience/artists/brunch-at-theb i s t ro - w i t h - t o m m y - h a l l o r a n s guerrilla-swing/ Tommy Halloran, one of the hardest working musicians in

Religion Religion briefs High court hears arguments on gay marriage
WASHINGTON (AP) — With fierce opponents and advocates gathered outside, the U.S. Supreme Court has heard arguments on same-sex marriage. The court must resolve conflicting lower court rulings on whether gay marriage is a constitutional right. Legal observers closely watched the justices' comments for possible clues about their leanings. Justice Anthony Kennedy, who authored the court's three prior gay rights rulings, did not tip his hand. Justice Antonin Scalia said he worried that a court decision in favor of same-

Clergy work to promote peace in Baltimore
RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — A flower shop owner in Richland, Washington, who lost a lawsuit over her refusal to provide services for a same-sex wedding wants the state Supreme Court to review the case. Attorneys for Barronelle Stutzman filed the notice of appeal on Monday. The Tri-City Herald reports the state Supreme Court can decide to take up the case or transfer it to the state Court of Appeals to handle first. Stutzman owns Arlene's Flowers, and says her religious beliefs prevent her from providing flowers for a same-

Referred to by many as the father of modern golf course architecture, Mr. Dye has left an indelible mark on the game. While best known for epic designs like the TPC at Sawgrass, Whistling Straits and Harbor Town Golf Links, Dye honed his craft right here in Indiana. Here are seven of Mr. Dye's favorite Indiana courses. Travel The Pete Dye Golf Trail to try them all. We are sure you’ll love them just as much as he does. Mystic Hills Golf Club at Culver This stunning 18-hole layout incorporates a links style design on the front nine and a more traditional feel on the back nine. Prairie grasses guard the fairways as numerous sand bunkers protect each undulating green. The course offers golfers views of wetland areas, lush woods and rolling fairways. Kampen Golf Course, West Lafayette Part of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, the Kampen Course is an 18-hole, links-style, par-72 championship golf course featuring large bent-grass greens, fairways and tees. The vast sand bunkers, native grasslands, ponds and natural celery bog presents a challenge for golfers of all abilities. It has been rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and awarded 4.5 stars on Golf Digest's

“Places to Play” List. The course also has hosted many prestigious collegiate and public tournaments. Most recent of which have been 2005 Women's Western A m a t e u r, 2 0 0 8 M e n ' s N C A A Championship and 2011 Men’s Big Ten Men’s Golf Championships. Plum Creek Golf Club, Carmel This wonderful Dye design is nestled in tall grasses and graced with multiple water features. Once the site of the 2004 IWGA MidAmateur Championship and the 2003 Indiana State Open, this par 72-layout features strategically placed bunkers and challenging green complexes offering plenty of fun for golfers of any skill level. Plum Creek also has a large, multidiscipline practice area where you can practice drives, chipping, wedging and putting. The Fort Golf Resort , Indianapolis Located just 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, this former U.S. Army post, is now home to Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park and a Dye masterpiece - The Fort Golf Course. Since opening in 1997, The Fort has been considered one of Indiana's finest public courses
and is ranked annually by national golf publications as a Top Ten in the State. Dye took this 238-acre natural setting and created an 18-hole championship layout that is challenging for any skill level. Owned and operated by the State of Indiana, the 7,148-yard, par 72 design features tree lined fairways, rolling hills and the Dye trademark undulating greens. T h i s i n c re d i b l e , 1 , 7 0 0 - a c re complex also offers top quality practice facilities, golf instruction, a fully stocked golf shop, restaurants, on-site accommodations, plus, a State Park next door.
Brickyard Crossing, Indianapolis Only Indianapolis could combine the excitement of auto racing with the natural beauty of a championship golf course. The Brickyard Crossing offers a unique golf experience that includes a 4-hole stretch inside the legendary, century-old Indianapolis Motor S p e e d w a y. D y e u t i l i z e d h i s signature railroad ties as well as large slabs of concrete along creek beds to carve out this course. The concrete was repurposed from racetracks' walls that were torn down and replaced with cuttingedge safety barriers. This 18-hole championship course has become one of only a few venues in the country to host PGA tour events, LPGA tour events and Champions tour events. Maple Creek Golf and Country Club , Indianapolis Play the first chapter in the story of Pete Dye’s illustrious career. Originally opened as Heather Hills in 1961, this 18-hole layout has the distinct honor of being Pete’s first creation. Created in partnership with his wife, Alice, Maple Creek features small tees and greens, narrow fairways lined with mature trees and natural long grass areas. Multiple bunkers compliment a creek that winds its way through the front nine, challenging players of all skill levels. The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Travel south to experience the historic grandeur of the French Lick Resort. This historic, luxury resort offers beyond golf options amenities such as a casino, riding stables, fitness centers and spas. Named 2009’s Best New Course in America by Golf Digest, the Pete Dye Course was originally conceived as a napkin sketch at a nearby restaurant. This hilltop course, built on the highest point in Indiana, offers a 40-mile panoramic view of breathtaking Hoosier National Forest. While the course stretches to over 8,100 yards from
the tips, it features five sets of tees – beginning at 5,100 feet – making it playable by golfers of every skill level.

Performing the music of Pink Floyd with note for note perfection, this critically-acclaimed tribute show has been astonishing audiences worldwide and their plans for North America are no d i ff e re n t a s t h e i r l i v e s h o w s will be packed with the greatest Pink Floyd hits ever. Led Zeppelin2 - The Live Experience brings fans the excitement of Led Zeppelin "In Concert" by re-enacting the live improvisation and onstage interaction that earned Led Zeppelin their legendary status for performing. Rather than a "greatest hits" show, fans experience Zeppelin as Zeppelin would have played in front of an audience. The band has earned critical praise along the way with Chicago Sun Times proclaiming, "As good a Zep as Zep ever did back in the day." while the Dallas Observer says Led Zeppelin2 is "… the closest thing to seeing the real Led Zeppelin." TimeOut Chicago adds, "A lot of Zep tributes out there, but this one’s our favorite… its members fully immerse themselves in the musicianship and style of the four classic-rock heavyweights. That Yakuza howler Bruce Lamont does a mean Robert Plant is icing on the cake." A performance is scheduled Tuesday, August 4, at The Family Arena in St. Charles. The Ege's own Bill Roseberry, famous for his You Gotta' Eat restaurant reviews, has put together his thoughts on a number of local eateries. Enjoy. Unkle Munkey's Coin Club 1027 Century Dr. Edwardsville This is the place to be, great food, great beer selections and an outstanding group of old school video games to help you revisit your youth. Check out the chicken wings, they are some of the best around, and the buffalo chicken pizza is the bomb with slice of celery on top and drizzled with ranch dressing. Don't miss out on playing an original pong arcade game while you're there either. Gulf Shores Restaurant & Grill 215 Harvard Dr. Edwardsville B e p re p a re d t o w a i t w h e n you visit this new hot spot in Edwardsville, but it's worth it. Make sure to check out the gator bites, they are fantastic. It's alligator meat fried in a corn meal breading. The catfish fillets are fried in the same corn meal breading and equally as good. There are also gator tacos and don't miss “Crabby Monday's Crab Leg Special.â€? A little pricey though. Chubby's Warehouse Bar & Grille 1022 E. Broadway Alton Cheap and delicious. The burgers are fantastic here and extremely affordable. They also have a good buffalo chicken sandwich and good tacos. Maybe the best thing they offer is their sweet corn nuggets, you can't go wrong with them. It's cash only so make sure you grab some before you go. Only knock is the service could be a little friendlier. Mission Taco Joint 908 Lafayette Ave. Soulard If you like quirky and eclectic twists on Mexican fare then this is the place for you. There are great tacos and burritos like the Brah'rito with carne asada and chipotle bacon. It is freakin' huge, too. They also have torta selections on the menu and a cool carne asada fries choice in the appetizers. Good beer selections there also. Huddle Bar & Grill 1101 Caseyville Rd. Suite J Caseyville It may look like your average bar, but get a load of the menu and quickly find out it's not. The food is definitely worth a visit. Steak night is a definite time to go. Get a New York strip steak and potato for $9.99. Check out the peanut butter bacon burger, the asparagus in balsamic sauce and the sweet potato fries drizzled with honey, all are delicious choices. Strange Donuts 2709 Sutton Blvd. Maplewood An aptly named donut shop, it is one of the weirdest places you may ever eat, but weird doesn't mean it's not good. Check out the strangers, which are daily collaborations with other local restaurants. The bacon maple donut and the gooey butter donut are always on the menu and always fantastic choices. Cunetto's Corner Cucina 114 N. Main St. Edwardsville This hidden little corner Italian restaurant deserves some love. It

They stuff just about anything you can think of inside a calzone, including eggs, salami, pineapples, figs, chorizo, eggplant and zucchini to name a few. Good sauce selections served on the side. Great craft beers available also. Pirronne’s Pizzeria 1775 Washington St. Florissant The pizza here is amazing. They use provel cheese and have a slew of ingredients to go on top of their thin crust pies. During the day they have a great buffet lunch special, which also has a salad bar and soups and appetizers. Frank’s Restaurant 132 West Macarthur Dr. Cottage Hills It is an extensive menu with all kinds of choices, including breakfast selections, sandwiches, steaks, fish, pasta dishes and it’s cheap. Did I mention that it’s cheap? Lotawata Creek Southern Grill 311 Salem Pl. Fairview Heights Fatten yourself up at this joint. The menu is ridiculously huge and the portions are even bigger. Get your own plate of fries for a side, or a bucket of onion rings. You won’t go away hungry here, trust me. 1818 Chophouse 210 S. Buchanan St. Edwardsville This is a great place to grab a s t e a k d i i n n e r, t h a t i s t h e i r signature dish. A good place for a fancy dinner date, the ambience in the dining area is fantastic. I t o ff e r s e x t e n s i v e b re a k f a s t , brunch and dinner menus, but be prepared to pay, it’s pretty expensive. Sybergs Old Dorsett Rd.
