Madison County Health Department and Coordinated Youth and Human Services have teamed up to enhance awareness and promotion of diabetes self- management. The Diabetes Self Management Program is specifically for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes. There is no cost for this six -week program, which also includes a free book and relaxation CD. Some of the class topics include techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain; effective communication; tips for maintaining nutritional and physical health; medications; communication; and new treatments. Classes run from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at Madison County Health Department, located in Wood River.
