Interior STYLES

NATURAL Live

In these fast-paced, technology-orientated times, many people long for balance. A haven of well-being: home. This natural interior design style is created using calming green and natural nuances in combination with organic materials. Woods with a honey-coloured, rustic character show knots and cracks throughout and create a feeling of connection with nature. Elegant interpretations of wood can also emphasise this interior design style.

Where does the fascination come from?

The herringbone installation method for flooring has a long historical significance and dates back to the 16th century. Originally, it was used for installing wooden floors in high-quality rooms.

Nowadays, herringbone flooring is not only available as a real wood variant. Laminate flooring in herringbone design can be installed easily as a floating floor. Visually, it is in no way inferior to the original.

Fans of vintage and traditional aesthetics will therefore get their money's worth with NatureSense Herringbone flooring. It is perfect for anyone who values style. And, best of all –exclusive taste doesn't have to be expensive.

As Head of Design & Decor Management, Klaus Monhoff provides the creative impulse for our EGGER products and, together with his team, is responsible for decor design and selection. In this interview, he explains where he gets his ideas from.

My passion is global design trends.

I regularly visit design fairs and events, such as the furniture fair in Milan, to exchange ideas with other creative people and be inspired.

Interview with Klaus Monhoff

lookbook asks: How does the decor development team at EGGER work and where do you get your inspiration and feel for trends?

Klaus Monhoff: Even after 32 years, decor development is still an incredibly exciting job for me that requires a lot of creativity. I work with my whole team to create new, innovative designs and decors that are in keeping with the spirit of the times and still can be expected to be valid for a defined period of time.

lookbook asks: Are there any personal inspirations that you can use in your daily work?

Klaus Monhoff: Yes, definitely. Our work as decor developers is naturally linked to our personal passion for design. We often stumble across inspiring things in everyday life. Be it interesting architecture, an artistically designed product or simply the nature around us. These inspirations can stimulate ideas and flow into our work.

It is important to keep our eyes open and to look for new ideas beyond our everyday work at EGGER. This variety of inspiration helps us develop innovative and unique designs.

lookbook asks: What materials are used in the design industry for decor development to help you find inspiration?

Klaus Monhoff: At EGGER, a wide variety of materials are used for decor development. These can be fabrics, wallpaper, paper and, especially for our decor focus in the flooring segment, natural materials such as wood or stone. These materials serve as the

basis for composing various designs and textures.

With our team from the Designlab, we have created a technically advanced department that uses high-performance decor scanners to create a wide range of possibilities for playing with materials, textures and colours. This inspires us all in our daily work.

lookbook asks: What is the focus of the new EGGER Flooring Collection 25+ in terms of decor designs?

Klaus Monhoff: We are currently noticing that a variety of different materials and colours can be found in our residential spaces. We like to call this ‘multi-match’.

This is why it's very important to offer calm and elegant looks, which also suggest durability, for objects that take up more space, and this includes flooring.

lookbook asks: Is there a special concept in the decor pool that you would like to emphasise?

Klaus Monhoff: One of the highlights of our concepts is definitely the Interior Match decor concept. In this decor selection, we combine our decors from the flooring range with the decors of our decorative board materials from our EGGER Decorative Collection 24+. These products with similar decors and colours can be used to create harmonious, consistent living room concepts, across furniture and flooring, that express special harmony and quality – all from a single source, all from EGGER, with the highest design standards.

With our EGGER Interior Match range, we bring harmony to every room.

A popular interior design theme involves matching the designs of doors, furniture and flooring. The use of similar colours and woodgrains creates a harmonious whole that gives a room special aesthetics. The EGGER Interior Match range provides for this trend from the EGGER Collection Decorative 24+ and EGGER Flooring Collection 25+
