The Creed - Statement of Faith I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made; being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and died and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose Kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father; who with the Father and the Son, together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one, holy and apostolic church. I believe in the Scriptures, confirmed by our Lord Jesus Christ; as the true Word of God, inspired, by the Spirit of God. I acknowledge, one baptism for the remission of sins; in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; And I hope for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

What is Salvation? John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The simplest definition of salvation is to be delivered (or rescued) from peril/danger. God made Adam and Eve and they sinned. And because they sinned, we all became sinners through them. God sent Jesus Christ to rescue us from the consequence of our sin, and everybody falls into the category of sinner.
Why be Saved? John 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Though life on earth is temporary, life is eternal and it never ends. The decision we all have to make is whether, we will spend it, either, in hell or heaven. Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; The real problem is sin and guilt. That's the issue. It doesn't matter whether you're among the haves or the have-nots, whether you have great expectations or none at all, whether you're consumed by your passions or exhibit a degree of self-control and discipline-you are still a sinner. You have broken the law of God and He's angry about it. Unless something happens to change your condition, you're on your way to eternal hell. You need to be rescued from the consequences of your sin.
How Can I be Saved? Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Beauty of salvation is that it is the free of God to mankind and available to all who are willing to accept it and obey His commandments in the Word of God. Repeat the prayer below, earnestly and sincerely from the heart and the Lord will save you.
Prayer of Salvation Father in heaven, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that does not please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent for my ways. I ask you to forgive me all my sins and cleanse me by the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ.. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross of Calvary for me, to save me and You raised Him up from the dead. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, You are the Lord of my life and my Saviour. Help me to live every day for you, and in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

STUDY GUIDE WHY SHOULD I STUDY GOD’s WORD? God’s Words are in the Bible. This is the most important subject you will ever learn. All that you study in school and life, ends with this life. What you study here, stays with you in this life and in the next, all throughout eternity. The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s charter. Here too, Heaven is opened and the gates of Hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents.
HOW SHOULD I STUDY? Your school textbooks change and the information keeps changing as new things come along. God’s word does not change. God’s word has been written with you and your life in mind. It will speak to you. ު
Seek to Understand :
- Try to understand the Word of God. Ask
God to speak to you through His Word and He will. ު
Memorize It
: - God’s word has no expiry. It is your guide and lamp,
on your way to eternity. The more you remember, better you understand His will. Steps to memorizing God’s Word a. Start by reading the verse you want to memorize atleast 5-10 times b. Try to recall and repeat the verse you want to learn. c. Read again and check if you were correct d. Repeat the steps from step ‘a’ If you follow the above listed steps, you will develop ability to memorize easily and quickly, ު
Revise It
: - Regularly read and revise, what you learned, to ensure
that you don’t forget them. a. Repeat at least 3 times, whenever you revise the memorised verse. b. If you systematically revise, you’ll never forget what you learned.

What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, Who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save. 'Til on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied For ev'ry sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious day, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the pow'r of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. The Parable of the Sower Matthew 13:1-23 Craft/Activity: Seed Packets Students will make “seed packets” to remind them how some seed fell on rocky places, on the path, among thorns, and on good soil.
Materials 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
67 Lb. White Cardstock Seed Packet Patterns Scissors Crayons, Markers, or Colored Pencils Flower Seeds Glue or Tape
Directions Make copies of the “Seed Packet Pattern” for each student onto 67 lb cardstock. Have students color the seed packet with crayons, markers, or colored pencils. Instruct students to cut the seed packet along the solid black lines. Students will then fold on the dotted lines. The two tabs on the sides of the seed packet pattern may be glued or taped to the back side of the packet. 6. Fill the packet with flower seeds and glue or tape the top tab closed.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
For Discussion As students are coloring their seed packets, review the meaning of the parable of the sower. The seed that fell on the path is like someone who hears the gospel message, does not understand it, and the devil snatches it away. The seed that fell on the rocky places is like the one who hears the gospel message, receives it with joy, but because it has not root, it lasts only a short time. The seed that fell among the thorns is like one who hears the gospel message, but the worries of life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it out. The seed that fell on the good soil is like one who hears the gospel message, understands it, and it produces a bountiful harvest.

Directions 1. 2. 3. 4.
Copy the coat pattern onto 67 lb. cardstock for each student. Have the students color the coat with markers. Have the students cut out the coat. Allow students to glue sequins on the coat.
For Discussion While the students decorate the coat, remind them that Jacob made the coat for Joseph because he was the child of his old age and because his mother was Rachel, the one he loved. Rachel was special to Jacob because he worked for fourteen years for the right to marry her. This display of favoritism caused Joseph’s brothers to greatly hate him. Their jealousy led them to sell him to the Midianites. The Midianites in turn would eventually sell Joseph to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials. Joseph’s brothers dipped his robe in the blood of a goat to mislead their father into thinking that Joseph was attacked by a ferocious animal and torn to pieces Help the students understand that hatred and jealously lead Joseph’s brothers to nearly kill him. Discuss the difference between disliking a sibling’s actions and hating him/her.

Directions 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Make a copy of the necklace pattern onto 67 lb. cardstock for each student. Have students cut out the ten commandments. Punch holes in the top left corners of each commandment with a hole punch. Have students string each commandment between two pieces of fruit cereal. Tie the two ends of the string together. Hint: On one end of each of the pieces of yarn, put a small piece of tape around the end to keep the yarn from fraying when stringing the fruit cereal and the ten commandments.
For Discussion As students are cutting out the ten commandments, discuss what each one means in terms that students would understand. Relate each commandment to the students’ own lives. Help them recognize that it is impossible to keep the commandments on their own. We all need God’s help. Our memory verse tells us that we are all sinners and we don’t measure up to God’s glory.
