Manilva Manilva prepara ya el comienzo del curso escolar que comenzará en septiembre

Será obligatorio el uso de mascarillas a partir de 6 años La delegación de Educación que dirige el edil, Daniel Muñoz, ha recibido ya la orden de la Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Andalucía, para el comienzo del Curso Escolar 2020/2021, que dará comienzo para los alumnos de infantil y primaria el próximo 10 de septiembre.
Los alumnos de Secundaria y Bachillerato lo harán el 15 de septiembre, mientras que las escuelas infantiles abrirán sus puertas, el 1 de septiembre. La limpieza y desinfección de los centros serán el objetivo principal para salvaguardar la salud de alumnos y profesores y se evitará el contacto entre estudiantes, manteniendo la distancia social entre alumnos incluso en el in-
terior de las propias aulas. Tanto el área que dirige Daniel Muñoz como la comunidad educativa, trabajan en los protocolos de funcionamiento que incluyen medidas para la entrada y salida que "se realizará de manera escalonada y las salidas al recreo tampoco serán coincidentes". La Consejería de Educación ha recomendado la creación de comisiones de seguimiento Covid 19, formadas por representantes municipales, de los distintos centros escolares, así como de los centros de salud del término.

El equipo de gobierno presenta un proyecto de ampliación del colegio de Sabinillas
A la retirada de las aulas prefabricadas y la construcción de dos aulas en el colegio de San Luis de Sabinillas, ahora se suma una partida de 631.151,51 € para la ampliación del centro escolar. Así lo ha decidido el Equipo de Gobierno, en una clara apuesta por la mejora de las instalaciones de este centro educativo En la mañana de hoy, el alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, el concejal de Infraestructura y Obras,
Diego José Jiménez y el edil de Educación, Daniel Muñoz, acompañados por otros miembros del gobierno local y técnicos municipales han explicado las características del proyecto a desarrrollar, al equipo docente. Los responsables municipales destacan que "esta construcción de otro ala del centro, posibilitará ampliar las aulas y realizar un espacio diáfano que sirva como teatro, zona común de actividades u otro tipo
de actos". Para el gobierno municipal "es indispensable dotar a los centros de las mejores instalaciones y en la medida de las posibilidades del Ayuntamiento, así se hará con todos".

Manilva ahorra 70.000 euros en el pago al Consorcio de Bomberos
Diego José Jiménez, primer teniente de alcalde, ha representado al Ayuntamiento de Manilva en la Junta General del Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos que se ha celebrado en Málaga. Un orden del día en el que se han tratado importantes asuntos para el consorcio en general y Manilva en particular, como ha destacado el edil.
Entre los temas más relevantes, el ahorro de 70.000 euros para las arcas municipales, que anualmente destina 190.000 euros de cuota al consorcio. Esta rebaja irá progresivamente disminuyendo hasta que sea la Diputación Provincial de Málaga quien se haga cargo íntegramente de este servicio. En este sentido, Diego José Jiménez manifestó que: "es
muy importante valorar este punto, ya que hablamos de un ahorro inmediato de 70.000 euros y un total de 190.000 euros que podremos destinar a potenciar o crear otros servicios para la ciudadanía". La estabilidad de la plantilla que conforma el retén de bomberos de Manilva también fue aprobada en la sesión.

La Avda. Miraflores será reurbanizada con 325.000 euros del "Plan Málaga"
El alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, ha firmado los decretos del llamado "Plan Málaga" y ha comunicado a la Diputación Provincial dónde el destino de las partidas que corresponden al municipio. Destaca entre las partidas económicas de este plan, la reurbanización de la Avenida Miraflores en Sabinillas con un presupuesto de 324.882,50 €, una obra muy esperada por los vecinos que ha sido anunciada en diferentes ocasiones sin que las obras fueran llevadas a cabo. El edil de obras, Diego José
Jiménez, asegura que "con este tipo de ayudas se reactiva la economía local al tiempo que se da solución a problemas enquistados en cuanto a infraestructuras como es el caso de la Avenida Miraflores". Se remodelarán también las plazas Alta y Baja, así como la Plaza Coral, situada entre los edificios Delfín y Chanquete en el Puerto de la Duquesa, para lo que se dispondrá de un montante de 108.483, 69 €. Además de estos trabajos se llevará a cabo, dentro de otro de los programas del Plan Málaga, la crea-
ción del Pasaje Peatonal que conectará las calles Pedreta con Jimena en Manilva pueblo, con una inversión de la diputación de 148.500€, mientras que el Ayuntamiento contribuirá a su terminación con 31.500€. Mario Jiménez, alcalde de Manilva, ha mostrado desde la presentación de este plan extraordinario de inversiones, su satisfacción "porque nuestra localidad se vea beneficiada de este tipo de ayudas que sin duda llega en un momento de vital importancia".

Martagina se beneficia de la recuperación de las urbanizaciones abandonadas En el caso de la zona de Martagina la reactivación de las constructoras en estas edificaciones abandonadas están suponiendo el arreglo de la avenida de acceso principal, en el conocido como el camino de Martagina. La zona de Martagina en Manilva, es una de las zonas más beneficiadas por las nuevas obras de recuperación en las urbanizaciones abandonadas del municipio y es que las empresas constructoras que realizan estas rehabilitaciones construyen también infraestructuras comunitarias. Este es el caso del "vial de Martagina", en el que que se está colocando una nueva pavimentación, red de saneamiento de pluviales y fecales así como la red de abastecimiento de agua potable y alumbrado público. Desde el Consistorio de Manilva y desde el área de Urbanismo que dirige Marcos Ruiz, se señala que la puesta en marcha por parte de las promotoras de este tipo de reactivación de la construcción "acordado con el Ayuntamiento" en el municipio, no sólo es bueno para el empleo sino para la mejora de las infraestructuras del municipio.

Claudia Muñoz, gana el concurso para la imagen corporativa del consistorio
Claudia Muñoz Centeno ha sido la ganadora de un concurso en el que han participado 7 trabajos, de los que tan sólo dos fueron seleccionados para la elección final. El jurado, presidido por el Alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez del que formaban parte un miembro de la Asociación Arte12, Ateneo de Manilva, y la Asociación 33mm, tomó la decisión final de que Claudia Múñoz Centeno resultara ganadora con su obra "Mar, Alcázar Agraz", utilizado como pseudónimo en la apertura de los sobres de los trabajos participantes. El trabajo deberá de plas-
marse ahora en los detalles, regalos, reconocimientos, distinciones y otros actos institucionales como recuerdo del municipio. Mario Jiménez, considera "fundamental para un término eminentemente turístico y con proyección de futuro, este tipo de detalles institucionales". El Ayuntamiento de Manilva convocó este concurso para la creación de un logotipo o imagen "que represente la imagen corporativa, adaptable a todo tipo de formato, bien para plasmarlo en una placa conmemorativa o realizar un cuadro en relieve".

The jury, chaired by the Mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, which included members from the Arte12 Association, Ateneo de Manilva, and the 33mm Association, made the final decision declaring Claudia Múñoz Centeno the winner with her work "Mar, Alcázar Agraz". The work will now feature
in the details of gifts, recognitions, distinctions and other institutional acts as a souvenir of the municipality. Mario Jiménez, considers it "fundamental for a major tourist destination to have a distinctive image". The Council announced this contest for the creation of a logo "that represents the corporate image, which can be adapted for all types of formats, either to feature it on a commemorative plaque or as a print image.

Estepona El Hospital de Estepona pasará su primera consulta en seis meses y estará a pleno rendimiento en un año Juanma Moreno fue rotundo y no esperó a las preguntas de los periodistas a la hora de poner fecha a la apertura de esta importante infraestructura sanitaria de la que aseguró en su intervención “su puesta en marcha es muy necesaria para la Costa del Sol y para los municipios limítrofes y si todo va bien y la Covid nos lo permite, esta infraestructura sanitaria pasará su primera consulta en un plazo de seis meses y estará a pleno rendimiento en un año”. Moreno avanzó las cifras importantes de este Hospital y dijo que “se pasarán en este edificio más de 85.000 consultas al año con más de 21 especialidades diferentes y para ello puedo adelantarles que ya están licitados los materiales necesarios y puestos a buen recaudo”. El presidente de Andalucía, destacó también en su intervención “la importante apuesta por la sanidad del ejecutivo que presido” para asegurar que “nunca se ha invertido tanto dinero en Andalucía en Sanidad, nosotros no hemos bajado nunca el ritmo y no hemos estado de vacaciones”. Moreno puso como ejemplo de colaboración entre administraciones al Ayuntamiento de Estepona y
alabó el “buen hacer de mi compañero y alcalde José María García Urbano, al que gracias a su constancia y tesón este edificio es una realidad con una inversión municipal de más de 15.000 millones de euros, tras más de 10 años de incumplimientos”. El alcalde de Estepona agradeció “el esfuerzo de todos los ciudadanos de Estepona” y se mostró “satisfecho de estar presente “en el más importante acto de mi mandato al frente de este Ayuntamiento y mis días como alcalde, en esta entrega de un Hospital de todos y para todos a la junta de Andalucía”. una superficie construida de 14.300 metros cuadrados, sobre una parcela de 60.166 metros cuadrados y responde al modelo de hospitales de consulta en acto único, por el que se pretende que el paciente se someta a las pruebas necesarias para obtener un diagnóstico en un mismo día. Tendrá capacidad para atender más de 85.000 consultas, 91.000 urgencias y 4.000 intervenciones quirúrgicas que actualmente son atendidas cada año en el Hospital Costa del Sol de Marbella.

The Estepona Hospital is located in the Santa María area, to the west of the town, with a built area of 14,300 m2 on a plot of some 60,166 m2 and is designated as a one-stop consultation hospital, where it is intended that the patient undergoes the necessary tests to obtain a diagnosis on the same day. It will have the capacity to deal with over 85,000 consultations, 91,000 emergencies and 4,000 surgical interventions that are currently having to be treated each year at the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella.

Hospiten y el Ayuntamiento renuevan su convenio El Ayuntamiento de Estepona, ha renovado el convenio con Hospiten, para que los empadronados mayores de 45 años puedan realizarse gratuitamente las pruebas para la detección del cáncer ginecológico (útero y mama) y de próstata. Desde que se puso en marcha esta iniciativa (febrero de 2013 para las mujeres y en septiembre de 2016 para hombres), un total de 1.866 esteponeros se han sometido a estas revisiones, que permiten diagnosticar de forma temprana tumores en estado inicial.
El Ayuntamiento asume el coste económico de estas pruebas que suponen más de 280.000 euros anuales, para mejorar la calidad de vida de los vecinos. Los interesados deberán hacer efectiva su solicitud en la delegación municipal de Participación Ciudadana,
ubicada en la antigua Casa Consistorial, donde deberán presentar y cumplimentar la correspondiente solicitud y autorización para que la clínica realice las pruebas, el estudio y la entrega del informe sobre detección precoz.
Hospiten and the Town Council renew their agreemen The Estepona Council has renewed their agreement with Hospiten, so that those registered over the age of 45 can receive free tests for the detection of gynecological cancer (uterus and breast) and prostate cancer. Since this initiative was launched, back in February 2013 for women, and in
September 2016 for men, a total of 1,866 local residents have undergone these tests, which allow early diagnosis of tumours in their early stages. The Council pays the cost of these tests, which represent more than 280,000 euros per year, to improve the quality of life of residents.

Estepona acogerá la final del concurso provincial de cortadores de jamón El municipio acogerá la final del concurso provincial de cortadores de jamón "Popi Sabor a Málaga-Ningún hogar sin comida", patrocinado por Sabor a Málaga y la Diputación Provincial de Málaga, con la colaboración del Consistorio esteponero. Ante la situación que vivimos en la actualidad provocada por la Covid19, el concurso cambiará de formato para adaptarse a las nuevas medidas de aforo y seguridad. Así el certamen se realizará en varios municipios de la provincia de Málaga durante el mes de agosto
y los mejores cortadores de cada municipio se medirán en la final que se celebrará en Estepona en el mes de septiembre. José María Téllez "Popi", organizador del certamen ha resaltado que el concurso tendrá este año un carácter solidario. El objetivo es recaudar alimentos (no perecederos) y donarlos al banco de alimentos de cada municipio donde se realice. De esta manera, se quiere ayudar a los hogares más necesitados. Para ello, los asistentes a cada uno de los concursos de cortadores de jamón deberán aportar alimentos no perecederos. A cambio los asistentes podrán disfrutar de la degustación de los mejores jamones de España de manera totalmente gratuita. Los concursantes tendrán que demostrar su pericia a la hora de cortar un jamón, mientras el jurado valorará, entre otros aspectos, el estilo del cortador, el emplatado o que los participantes sean capaces de cortar raciones de 100 gramos a ojo. Entre los municipios que acogerán las semifinales de esta edición se encuentran Atajate, Cortes de la Frontera o Marbella, entre otros.

El alcalde de Estepona, José María García Urbano, ha colocado hoy la primera piedra de las 100 Viviendas de Protección Oficial (VPO) que se empezaron a construir a principios de este mes en una parcela municipal ubicada en la zona de Juan Benítez, junto al instituto Mar de Alborán. El regidor ha explicado que con esta iniciativa se da cumplimiento a uno de los compromisos electorales y se contribuye, asimismo, a promover el acceso a la vivienda a personas y colectivos con mayores dificultades para ello. El Consistorio adjudicó la cesión de estos terrenos a la Fundación Vimpyca Entidad Benéfica de Construcción (EBC) para la llevar a cabo este tipo de edificación, dirigida a favorecer el acceso a la vivienda a ciudadanos de la localidad.

¿Qué pasa si nuestra Junta se pospone? ¿Puede decidirlo el presidente? La situación de las Juntas Comunitarias con la pandemia actual está lejos de mejorar. Se están reportando brotes controlados en toda España, pero la mayoría de las personas afectadas son asintomáticas, por lo que afortunadamente su salud no está en riego. El Colegio Oficial de Administradores de fincas de Málaga y Melilla ha recomendado que se pospongan todas las juntas no urgentes. La celebración de una junta comunitaria reúne a personas de diferentes “unidades familiares”, lo que dificulta el control de posibles brotes. Tengo una compañera que cele-
bró una junta hace un par de semanas, cumplieron con todas las medidas de seguridad recomendadas, sin embargo, un familiar de alguien que asistió dio positivo por COVID-19, por lo que tuvo que cerrar su despacho, y todos los propietarios que asistieron a la junta y sus familias, tuvieron que aislarse hasta que llegaron los resultados de las pruebas. No hubo contagios, pero sus vidas se vieron afectadas nuevamente al tener que volver a encerrarse en casa. Por eso recomendamos que se pospongan las juntas, a menos que sea por una cuestión urgente. Una decisión urgente se-
ría que el presidente no pudiera ejercer, que la comunidad necesitara financiación o que haya un proyecto urgente que votar. ¿Qué pasa si la Junta Ordinaria no se celebra? ¿Puede el presidente tomar esta decisión? 1. El Presidente, debido a la pandemia actual y a las “razones atenuantes” puede posponer la junta hasta que sea segura y haya una definición legal de cómo llevarla a cabo. 2. Los representantes elegidos en la última junta se mantendrían hasta que se realice la JGO (Presidente, Vicepresidente, Comité y Administrador). Debéis informar al banco para evitar
problemas de pago. 3. Se mantendrían el presupuesto y las cuotas comunitarias, el comite no puede modificar estas cuotas sin una junta. Sin embargo, se puede emitir una derrama si fuera necesario por una cuestión urgente de mantenimiento o reparaciones necesarias. 4. Se pospondría la aprobación de las cuentas. 5. No se podrían iniciar nuevas acciones legales contra los morosos, ni otras cuestiones, a menos que se apruebe en una Junta. Los procedimientos en curso pueden continuar. 6. Cualquier otra decisión tomada en la última junta sigue siendo válida. Aún
se pueden celebrar Juntas Extraordinarias e incluso Juntas convocadas por el 25% de los propietarios, siempre que los puntos a tratar sean urgentes. Otra pregunta es: ¿puede el presidente representar legalmente a la comunidad si no reside en la ella de forma permanente? Son muchos los presidentes, especialmente en nuestra zona, que no residen aquí de forma permanente y no prevén poder visitarnos en un futuro próximo debido a las restricciones impuestas a la hora de viajar. Una Junta puede celebrarse siempre que haya un propietario presente. Para estos casos recomenda-

ríamos un vicepresidente, para que siempre haya alguien que pueda representar a la comunidad si fuera necesario. La tecnología nos ayuda enormemente en esta situación sobrevenida. Estas son nuestras recomendaciones para las juntas que se están llevando a cabo; espero que os sean de ayuda si necesitarais celeebrar una junta en vuestra comunidad: #NOalosrebrotes Las autoridades sanitarias aconsejan reducir al máximo reuniones fuera del ámbito familiar, por el riesgo de contagio. Reunirnos en la junta de propietarios con personas, incluso asintomáticas, de diferen-
tes procedencias, países y hábitos de vida, puede ser el lugar que propicie la transmisión del virus y el aislamiento por 14 días a los que asistan, en el caso de darse algún positivo. Por eso, y, salvo que tengas una razón especial para asistir a la reunión, delega tu voto (en el presidente u otra persona), incluso con el sentido del mismo en cada punto y tratemos de reducir el riesgo al ser los menos posibles en la reunión presencial. Si tuvieses alguna pregunta previa a la celebración de la junta o quisieras alguna aclaración en cuanto a los puntos a votar, puedes dirigirlo a tu administrador, estas preguntas se
responderán hasta el día antes de la prevista para la celebración de la junta. Por supuesto que solo deberá asistir a la reunión una persona por vivienda, es obligatorio el uso de mascarillas y mantener la distancia de seguridad. En el caso de incumplirse estas medidas, o de haber alguna indicación de que la junta pudiera ser un foco de contagio, la junta podrá ser suspendida. La salud de todos es nuestra prioridad en estos tiempos tan difíciles. What happens if our meeting is postponed? Can the President decide? The situation regarding meetings in the times of COVID-19 is far from improving. Controlled outbreaks are being reported all over Spain, but most people affected are asymptomatic, so their health is, thankfully, not at risk. A recommendation has been was issued by the College of Chartered Community Administrators in Malaga and Melilla, for all non-urgent meetings to be postponed. Holding a community meeting brings together people from different ‘family units’, making it hard to control any possible outbreaks. I have a colleague in a nearby town who held a meeting a couple of weeks ago, they kept to all the recommended safety measures, however, a family member of someone who attended was positive for COVID-19, so she had to close her office, and all owners who attended the meeting and their families had to self isolate until the results of the tests came back. No one else was infected; however,
their lives were disrupted due to mandatory self isolation, again. This is why we are recommending that meetings are postponed, unless there are urgent decisions to be made. An urgent decision would be that the President is standing down, that the community needs funding or that a pending project needs to be approved. So, what happens if the annual meeting does not take place, can the president make this decision? 1. The President, due to the current pandemic and ‘extenuating reasons’ can postpone the meeting until it is safe and there is a legal definition of how it is to be held. 2. The representatives elected at the last meeting would be maintained until the AGM takes place (President, Vice-president, Committee and Administrator). The community bank should be informed of this to avoid payment issues. 3. Your budget and resulting community fees would be
maintained, the board cannot modify these fees without a meeting. However, and extraordinary fee can be issued if necessary due to urgent works that cannot be postponed. 4. The approval of the accounts would be suspended. 5. New legal actions against debtors or any other issues cannot be initiated unless approved at a meeting. Ongoing procedures can continue. 6. Any other decisions made at the last meeting are still legally valid. An EGM can still be held, as can an EGM called by 25% of owners, as long as the items to be voted on really are urgent and cannot wait. Another question is: can the President legally represent the community if he does not reside onsite? There are many presidents, in our area specially, who do not reside here permanently and do not foresee being able to visit in the near future due to the travel restrictions imposed. A meeting can still take place as long
as there is an owner present. This is when a vice-president is recommend, so that there is always someone who can represent the community onsite if needed. Technology makes this whole situation a whole lot easier to manage. These are our recommendations for meetings that are taking place; I hope they are of help if you need to hold a meeting in your community: Health authorities advise reducing meetings outside the family unit as much as possible, due to the risk of contagion. Taking part in owners meetings, with other people, even asymptomatic, from different origins, countries and life habits can be the place that encourages the transmission of the virus and consequently the isolation for 14 days to those who attend, in the event of any positive tests. Therefore, and unless you have a special reason to attend the meeting, appoint a proxy vote (to the president
or someone else), you can include your vote for each item and with this we can aim to reduce the risk, by reducing our numbers. If you have any questions prior to the meeting or you would like some clarification regarding the points to be voted on, you can send them to your administrator beforehand. Of course, only one person per household should attend the meeting, the use of face masks and keeping the safety distance are mandatory. In the event of non-compliance with these measures, or if there is any indication that the meeting could be a source of contagion, the meeting may be suspended. Marta Mesa, una joven promesa de la Hípica Marta Mesa del Peral (18 años cumplidos, Marbella) se ha convertido en la gran promesa de la Hípica de la Costa del Sol. Esta universitaria destaca de modo progresivo en los diferentes concursos de salto de caballos nacionales e internacionales. Con ver su Curriculum todo queda claro y es que Marta en 2017 fue cuarta en el Trofeo Princesa de Asturias, en 2018 elegida la Mejor Deportista del año en Marbella y ha sido en lo colectivo, subcampeona de España por equipos, en 2019 ganó el pequeño Grand Prix de saltos en Vilamoura y este año, pese al Coronavirus ha sido quinta en el Santa María Polo Equestria, sin lugar a dudas la marbellí, apunta muy alto. “Siempre me ha gustado el mundo de los caballos y aunque no es fácil y hay que desplazarse mucho para los entrenamientos, he querido dar el paso a apostar más en este deporte” dice la amazona, que habitualmente entrena en Mijas, pero sin olvidar la Dehesa de “Montenmedio”

en Vejer. La Pandemia sanitaria la ha vivido confinada en Madrid donde estudia, “estaba como loca por volver a montar y disputar pruebas, ahora con todas las limitaciones voy haciendo lo que normalmente entrenábamos antes”, Marta Mesa, habla para LVR sobre lo que le queda de años y es sincera “todo depende de la Pandemia y los viajes, pero vamos a intentar cubrir un calendario con los grandes concursos”. Su gran novedad del verano es la unión a su cuadra de otro caballo y es que a su yegua “Zobia Bella” se ha unido el caballo “Watson de Trivera” con lo que esto representa “hay que aplicarse más en todos los conceptos, pero vivo una satisfacción única sal-
tando, valen todos los sacrificios posibles en este mundo”. La marbellí quiere que la hípica poco a poco, vaya eliminando el cartel de elitista “es cierto que mantener a los caballos cuesta, pero los sponsors tienen que ayudar y apostar por un deporte que históricamente ha dado buenos resultados a España, eso es lo que soñamos todos”. Marta se ha convertido en
una de las becadas en el programa “Marca Marbella”, una iniciativa que el ayuntamiento ha puesto en marcha para ayudar a los deportistas del municipio con progresión, “estoy feliz por haber entrado en este programa y representar el nombre de mi ciudad por todos los lados, ya voy adaptando el logo a mi vestimenta, lo que no es fácil” dice entre sonrisas. También es lógico que Marta haga referencia a su madre, Inés, “hace de todo conmigo, conduce, ayuda al calentamiento en las com-
peticiones, sufre con los saltos, es clave para mí y un enorme apoyo en todos los sentidos”. En este verano la amazona de la Costa del Sol ha participado en Sotogrande. De sus instalaciones afirma “es la primera vez que he estado aquí compitiendo y me llevo una grata valoración, es bueno para los deportistas tener más opciones para entrenamientos y pruebas”. "I live for jumping, it's worth every possible sacrifice in this world"
18-year-old Marta Mesa del Pera, from Marbella, has become the great young promise of the Costa del Sol's equestrian scene. This fact stands out progressively in the different national and international horse jumping competitions. This is evident from her CV, in 2017 Marta was fourth in the Princess of Asturias Trophy, in 2018 she was chosen the Best Sportswoman of the Year in Marbella and as part of a team has been collectively, runner-up in Spain. In 2019 she won the small Showjumping Grand Prix in Vilamoura and this year, despite the Coronavirus she was fifth in the Santa María Polo Equestria, without a doubt the Marbella rider is aiming very high. "I have always liked the world of horses and although it is not easy and you have to move a lot for training, I wanted to take the step to concentrate more on this sport" says the young woman, who usually trains in Mijas, but also the grasslands of "Montenmedio" in Vejer. The health pandemic saw her confined in Madrid where she studies, "I was crazy to get back to competition, and now with all the limitations I am back to doing what we trained for before", Marta Mesa, speaks to LVR about her
plans "everything depends on the Pandemic and travel restrictions, but we are going to try to fill our calendar with many big competitions". The big development this summer is the addition to her stable of another horse, with her horse "Zobia Bella" being joined by the horse "Watson de Trivera" which means that "more must be applied in all concepts, but I get a unique satisfaction from jumping, and all the possible sacrifices in this world are worth it”. The Marbella rider wants horse riding to, little by little, eliminate the elite image “it is true that keeping horses costs money, but sponsors have to help and invest in a sport that has historically seen good results in Spain, that is what we all dream ”. Marta has become one of the scholarship recipients in the “Marca Marbella” programme, an initiative that the town council has launched to help athletes in the municipality progress, “I am happy to have entered this programme and represent the name of my Town on all sides, I am already adapting the logo to my clothing, which is not easy” she says between smiles. It is also important for Marta to acknowledge her mother, Inés, "she does
everything with me, she drives, she helps warm up in competitions, she suffers with me on the jumps, she is key for me and she is extremely supportive in every way." This summer this young woman rider from the Costa del Sol has participated in Sotogrande. Of its facilities she affirms "it is the first time that I have been here competing and I received a pleasant assessment, it is good for athletes to have more options for training and testing". A View from the Village Adam Paul Whalley-Lewis Welcome to a 'View from the Village', the wonderful whitewashed village of Casares. Although we are only 20 minutes from the coast, things can sometimes look and feel a little different here and I hope that this new monthly piece will reflect that. These are my personal thoughts and views, so please be gentle with any feedback. Let's start with a couple of easy topics, the weather and village life. Our Spanish friends take everything the weather throws at us completely in their stride, our non-Spanish friends want to talk about it, a lot - and it is reassuring for me that our French and Irish friends check the forecast and plan accordingly, just as we do, whilst our Spanish friends have seen it all be-
fore and simply and effortlessly get on with life. I have an App which shows the weather in Casares, Manilva and for the coast, the weather can be different. During the cooler months, it is sometimes good to know that the temperature is three or four degrees warmer on the coast and the wind is not so strong. Recently we have watched the humid air rolling in across the coast and although we have had some humid days, the village has, by and large, been a little fresher and clearer than the view from our terrace suggests is the case as you move down the windmill road. Whatever the weather is doing, the village has predictability and routine which is difficult not to fall in love with. Although we have and will continue to miss the Ferias and Fies-
tas, we know they will be back. If you didn't see the photographs from previous celebrations published by the Town Hall on 2nd August, they are worth tracking down via the website, some lovely photographs of the village and villagers reminding us how the party can go on until 06.00h and almost everyone still looks as though they haven't yet had enough. Casares village looks wonderful in the sunshine as I type this. Our supermarkets are open, the wonderful pharmacy staff are doing their stuff and although sadly not all of the bars and restaurants are open, a lot (most) are. The tourist information office, Casa Natal de Blas Infante, has been open for a while now and the museum is worth a visit. Music and dance have not been completely can-
celled, several concerts and dance shows have taken place. Some of the performances coincide with the Kind Nights of Casares where the Plaza de Espana is closed to traffic on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 21.00h so that people can enjoy the outside space of the bars and res-
taurants safely. The atmosphere is welcoming and the conversation easy, even if the walk back up from the Plaza needs a good slice of courage for anyone who does not live in the historic centre. I hope that you enjoyed this first piece from the village, enjoy the sunshine.

La música y el baile no se han cancelado por completo, y se han realizado varios conciertos y es-
pectáculos de danza y algunas de las actuaciones coinciden con las “Noches de Casares”, en la Plaza de España que está cerrada al tráfico los viernes, sábados y domingos a partir de las 9 de la noche, para que las personas puedan disfrutar del espacio exterior de los bares y restaurantes de forma segura. El ambiente es acogedor y la conversación fácil, incluso si la caminata de regreso desde la plaza necesita un buen esfuerzo para cualquiera que no viva en el casco histórico. Espero que hayas disfrutado de este primer artículo del pueblo de Casares, disfruta del sol.
Una vista desde el pueblo Bienvenido amigo lector a la sección “Una vista desde el pueblo”, el maravilloso pueblo blanco de Casares y es que aunque estamos a solo 20 minutos de la Costa, a veces las cosas pueden verse y sentirse un poco diferentes desde aquí y espero que esta nueva colaboración mensual refleje eso, lo que son mis pensamientos y puntos de vista personales, tanto como me sea posible y por ello te pido que seas, amigo lector, amable con cualquier comentario. Comencemos con un par de temas fáciles, el clima y la vida en el pueblo. Nuestros amigos españoles se toman con calma todo lo que el clima nos ofrece, y nuestros amigos no españoles por el contra-
rio, quieren hablar mucho sobre eso, y me tranquiliza que nuestros amigos franceses e irlandeses verifiquen el pronóstico y planifiquen en consecuencia, tal como lo hacemos, mientras que nuestros amigos españoles lo han visto todo antes y simplemente y sin esfuerzo continúan con su vida. Tengo una aplicación que muestra el clima en Casares, Manilva y para la Costa, el clima puede ser diferente. Durante los meses más fríos, a veces es bueno saber que la temperatura es tres o cuatro grados más cálida en la Costa y que el viento no es tan fuerte. Recientemente, hemos visto el aire húmedo que cruza la Costa y, aunque hemos tenido algunos días húmedos, el pueblo ha
sido, en general, un poco más fresco y más claro de lo que sugiere la vista desde nuestra terraza a medida que avanza hacia los “molinos de viento”que represnetan los generadores de electricidad eólica.. Independientemente del tiempo, el pueblo y su vida es previsible y de su rutina es difícil no enamorarse. Aunque hemos echado de menos las Ferias y las Fiestas, sabemos que volverán. Si no has visto las fotografías de celebraciones anteriores publicadas por el ayuntamiento el 2 de agosto, vale la pena que las busques en su sitio web, son fotografías encantadoras de un pueblo y sus habitantes que nos recuerdan cómo puede continuar la fiesta hasta las seis de la mañana y que casi todo el mundo todavía, parece

La Junta de Andalucía ha sido transparente: "si no hay justificación, en las ausencias reiteradas a clase se activarán los protocolos de absentismo". "El miedo no justifica que los niños no vayan al cole", así que la dirección de los colegios, junto a la Inspección, activarán un proceso que podría acabar en denuncias a los padres, con sus correspondientes sanciones. La educación en España es obligatoria desde los 6 hasta los 16 años y los padres o tutores del menor están obligados a velar por su cumplimiento. Así, aquellos que decidan no llevar a sus hijos al colegio podrían ser denunciados por un delito recogido en el Código Penal con penas de prisión de 3 a 6 meses o una multa. Lo dice el Código Penal, en su artículo, 226: "el que dejare de cumplir los deberes legales de asistencia inherentes a la patria potestad, tutela, guarda o acogimiento familiar o de prestar la asistencia necesaria legalmente establecida para el sustento de sus descendientes, ascendientes o cónyuge, que se hallen necesitados, será castigado con la pena de prisión de tres a seis meses o multa de seis a 12 meses”. También parece clara la postura de la administración (la nacional y la andaluza): la presencialidad, al menos en las primeras etapas (Infantil y Primaria) es requisito imprescindible, "los niños deben volver a las aulas porque en determinadas edades la educación a distancia directamente no funciona" se asegura desde Educación.
Children's non-attendance at school could lead to fines for parents The Junta de Andalucía has made it clear that: "if there is no justification, repeated absences from class will lead to absenteeism protocols being activated". "Fear does not justify that children do not go to school", therefore school officials, together with the Inspectorate, will activate a process that could lead to actions against parents, with their corresponding fines. Education in Spain is compulsory from 6 to 16 years old and the children's parents or guardians are obliged to ensure compliance. Those who decide not to take their children to school could be denounced for a crime including prison sentences of 3 to 6 months or a fine. It is stated in the Penal Code, article 226: "whoever fails to comply with the legal duties of assistance inherent to parental authority, guardianship, foster care or to provide the legally established necessary assistance for the support of their descendants, ascendants or spouse, who are in need, will be punished with a prison sentence of three to six months or a fine”. The position of the administration (both national and regional) also seems clear: presence, at least in the early stages (Infant and Primary) is an essential requirement, "children must return to classrooms because at certain ages distance education is not sufficient" according to the Education Ministry.

Benítez) photography is one of his great passions. At present he is focused on the conceptual, metaphorical, rhetorical and, at times, surreal image. "I enjoy working without the use of Photoshop, digital montages or any other type of manipulation, but creating meticulously, and in detail, from real objects, settings and atmospheres, photographs that provoke us to think and feel".
Damian Vargas is an emerging author of action thrillers with a vein of dark humour. Damian is a self-exiled Brit, living and working in Spain on the Costa del Sol. A child of the 1970s and 1980s, he was brought up on an entertainment diet of intrepid adventure novels, gritty crime dramas, epic war stories and lowbudget British science fiction television. Experiencing everyday life in southern Spain opened his eyes to the dark underworld that occurs (mostly) beyond the view of the annual influx of British and other holidaymakers. The regular criminal goings-on, coupled with the
rich tapestry of life and stunning locations on ‘the Costa’, sparked a firm desire to write fastpaced action stories. His first book, ‘Six Hard Days in Andalusia’, is the first of these. Others are already in progress and several more planned. His motto is “Wisdom Comes To Those Who Stray”. He has a love for indie/punk rock in dank seedy venues, a fascination with the number ‘27’, has met three billionaires in his life, and harbours an intense dislike of spiders.

Benítez. La muestra, titulada "Metáforas Visuälis", que se compone de 23 obras fotográficas y 6 esculturas, será inaugurada a las 19 horas, pudiendo ser visita-
da hasta el 23 de septiembre de martes a sábados, de 09 a 20 horas, con acceso libre. Francis J. Benítez (Francisco José Sánchez Benítez) tiene en la fotografía una de sus grandes pasiones. En la actualidad está centrado en la imagen conceptual, metafórica, retó-
rica y, a veces, surrealista. “Disfruto trabajando sin el uso de Photoshop, montajes digitales ni ningún otro tipo de manipulación, sino creando minuciosa y detalladamente, a partir de objetos reales, escenarios y atmósferas, fotografías que nos provocan a pensar y sentir”.

Tiendas benéficas St George La organización benéfica St George cuenta con tres tiendas benéficas, dos en Sabinillas, Manilva y otra en La Cancelada, Estepona. En Sabinillas, una de las tiendas vende ropa, zapatos, sombreros y accesorios de segunda mano, mientras que la otra vende una amplia gama de muebles usados, objetos decorativos, artículos para el hogar, libros, CDs, DVDs, etc. En la tienda de Cancelada se pueden encontrar todos los mismos tipos de artículos que en las dos anteriores además de muebles más grandes como sofás y camas.
Gracias a las generosas donaciones recibidas, hay nuevos artículos en todas las tiendas a diario. ¡Pásate por las tiendas regularmente para no perderte ninguna ganga! Además de contar con algunos artículos geniales, las tiendas benéficas de St George también ofrecen la opción de alquilar algunos de sus ofrendas como sillas de ruedas, muletas, cunas de viaje, etc. La organización de la tienda siempre agradece las donaciones de artículos usados de calidad, y puede organizar su recogida si fuese necesario. Saint George Charity Shops
The St George Charity operates three charity shops, two in Sabinillas, Manilva and one in La Cancelada, Estepona. In Sabinillas one of the shops sells quality second hand clothing, shoes, hats and accessories; whilst the other sells a wide range of secondhand furniture, decorative items, household goods, books, cds, dvds, etc. Our shop in La Cancelada sells the same full range of secondhand items as our Sabinillas shops and also stocks larger items of
furniture and beds. Thanks to our generous donors there are new items in the shops daily, so visit regularly so as not to miss out on that bargain. As well as stocking some great quality items the St George Charity shops also rent out various items such as wheelchairs, walking aids, travel cots, etc. The shop management welcomes donations of quality secondhand items, and can arrange collection of larger items that cannot be brought in a car, or where appropriate.

The Saint George Charity runs a food bank initiative to help local people who are finding it difficult to make ends meet after the current pandemic crisis and this facility has never been more needed than now. Seeing the number of people receiving assistance rocket from a couple of dozen to some 138 individuals the Charity has managed so far, with the generous response from
the local community, to respond to this emergency, although it has drawn on all the Charity's resources to do so. Whilst things are beginning to improve and a few of the people we have helped are beginning to find their feet again financially, we anticipate that the consequences of Covid-19 will rattle on for the majority long after the virus itself comes under control. Banco de alimentos Saint George La asociación benéfica Saint George Charity, es la responsable del Banco de Alimentos, que ayuda a a numerosas personas del municipio con dificultades reales para llegar a fin de mes, tras la crisis originada por la Pandemia del Covid-19, una actividad que esta organización desarrolla de forma habitual pero que en este tiempo se ha convertido en una de las acciones más importante desde su nacimiento como entidad benéfica. De forma habitual, la organización presta ayuda a un número de personas que nunca había sobrepasado la cifra de 24 y desde la declaración del estado de
alarma por Coronavirus, la cifra ha crecido hasta las 138 personas, algo que la entidad benéfica ha logrado superar y lograr prestar ayuda hasta el momento, siempre con la generosa respuesta y ayuda de la comunidad local, ante esta esta emergencia, pero que ha obligado a la organización al empleo de todos sus medios económicos. Una subasta en las redes sociales recauda 852 euros para el banco de alimentos de St George Dean Tyler Shelton, presidente de la Sociedad Benéfica Duquesa de San Jorge, recibió con agradecimiento un cheque por valor de 852 euros, que fueron conseguidos a través de una serie de subastas realizadas
a través de las redes sociales. Las subastas fueron organizadas por Stuart en el "The Flying Squirrel Monte Duquesa", situado en el Patio, Monte Duquesa, y contaron con aportacio-
nes donadas de forma voluntaria por un importante número de negocios locales: The English Butcher, Danimo ' s Pizza Takeaway, JJ Fish Chips Chips, Heaven Bar, Bliss, Matt Heath Golf Coaching, Gaston Golf Tours y La Ardilla Voladora. Local bar raises 852 € for Saint George food bank On Tuesday 21 July, Dean Tyler Shelton, President of the Duquesa Charitable Society of St George, gratefully accepted a cheque for 852 euros, which was raised through a number of silent auctions. The auctions were organised by Stuart at the The Flying Squirrel Monte Duquesa, situated in the Courtyard, Monte Duquesa,
and featured some great offers generously donated by a number of local businesses including: The English Butcher, Danimo's Pizza Takeaway, JJ Fish & Chips, Heaven Bar, Bliss, Matt Heath Golf Coaching, Gaston Golf Tours, and The Flying Squirrel. These Silent Auctions were held over a number of weeks on The Flying
Squirrel's Facebook Page, and were so successful it is planned to repeat the campaign next year. The Saint George Charity would like to thank Stuart from The Flying Squirrel along with all those businesses who provided the auction lots and of course those members of the public who bid on them.

Me gustaría agradecer a todos los miembros que vinieron a la AGM el 3 de julio para votarme como el nuevo Presidente de ADANA. Es un inmenso privilegio ocupar este puesto. También gracias a todos los que viven en el extranjero, pero también enviaron su voto y apoyo. Sus cálidos deseos y cartas de apoyo son realmente apreciados. Estoy muy agradecido de que tenga la confianza en mí para continuar con el gran legado que es ADANA. Puede que algunos de ustedes no lo sepan, pero no soy un recién llegado aquí. Primero vine a ayudar en el refugio en 2004. Luego, nuevamente en 2007. Limpiando los corrales y encontrando hogares para los muchos cachorros, que siempre parecían tener abundancia, comencé a tomar café una vez al mes en mi casa para recaudar dinero para comprar comida para los perros en el refugio. Continué haciendo esto por varios años. Luego, hace tres años, me convertí en voluntario a tiempo completo y fui nominado para el consejo, donde me asignaron la responsabilidad de gerente de refugio. Tengo la intención de continuar como presidente de trabajo práctico.
A message from Adana's new president, Susie Brown I would like to thank all of the many members who came to the AGM on 3rd July to vote me in as the new ADANA President. It is an immense privilege to hold this position. Also thank you to all of you who live abroad, but sent in your vote and support as well. Your warm wishes and letters of support are genuinely appreciated. I am very grateful that you have the confidence in me to continue the great legacy that is ADANA. Some of you may not know, but I am not a newcomer here. I first came to help at the shelter in 2004. Then again in 2007. Cleaning the pens and finding homes for the many puppies, which we always seemed to have an abundance of, I then started having coffee mornings once a month at my home to raise money to buy food for the dogs at the shelter. I continued doing this for several years. Then three years ago, I became a full time volunteer and was nominated to the board, where I was given the responsibility of Shelter Manager. I intend to continue as a hands-on working president.

Un algecireño afincado en Manilva, publica un poemario dedicado a la Pandemia
El libro, presentado recientemente, tendrá edición en inglés y el autor ya prepara la edición de una segunda obra.
El pasado mes de agosto tuvo lugar en Marbella, la firma de libros del escritor algecireño, afincado en Manilva, Juan Antonio Almanado en lo que es, hasta la fecha, su primera publicación en el mercado y es que a Juan Antonio Almanado, lo que más le seduce es “mostrar mis sentimientos con palabras”. Tras ver la luz este poemario, su primer libro publicado y un fiel reflejo de “las vivencias sobre la pandemia de la COVID-19” como relata a LVR, Juan ya está inmerso en nuevos proyectos que son, una novela con la Segunda Guerra Mundial como telón de fondo y por otro, un segundo libro de poesía, donde quiere “dejar salir todas las palabras agolpadas en dirección a la mente del lector”. Juan Antonio nos anticipa a LVR el título y la portada de su próximo libro que se publicará este mismo mes de septiembre, coincidiendo con la publicación de la versión ya en inglés de “Poesía para la Humanidad, crónicas de la vida en confinamiento”, una nueva obra de poesía bajo el título “El último suspiro del planeta, poesía para los sentidos” que como describe el propio autor, es un libro de poesía “sencillo, directo y fácil de entender”. Para terminar, Juan nos asegura que septiembre es un mes cargado de proyectos, para un autor que llega con fuerza y ganas al mundo de la escritura.

Ahmed Ksiri y Juan Emilio Ríos Vera, después de la buena aceptación de su primera novela al alimón, Abdul, el moro asturiano, vuelven a unir sus sentimentalidades, para escribir una historia totalmente diferente y que aborda prácticamente todos los asuntos de la rabiosa realidad actual: inmigración, corrupción financiera, fanatismo religioso, xenofobia, precariedad laboral…, pero que también está ungida por la esperanza en un mundo mejor y más solidario.

El Puerto Sotogrande, con su certificado de “Puerto Seguro” acogió la XXI Copa de Vela El Puerto de Sotogrande ha recibido la certificación de Puerto Seguro “Marina Safe”, en un acto de izada de bandera junto a la torre de control, el acto contó con la presencia del alcalde accidental, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, así como la edil de Turismo, Ana Ruiz, y el teniente de alcalde de zona, Oscar Ledesma, acompañados del director del Puerto, Miguel Angel Díez, y del presidente de “La Ciudad Accesible y Habitable”, Antonio Tejada, así como otras autoridades y empresas relacionadas con el puerto. “La Ciudad Accesible y Habitable” otorgó al Puerto Deportivo Sotogrande el reconocimiento de “Puerto Seguro Marina Safe Oro

DIEZ FRUTAS que sí comen los perros Ronald Rosenfeld D.V.M. Sabinillas - Tel: 656681889 Peras, manzanas, plátanos, arándanos... Estos alimentos no solo pueden formar parte de la dieta humana. "Frutas como la manzana y la pera aportan grandes beneficios al perro", señala el veterinario y dietista canino, Carlos Alberto Gutiérrez, autor del blog Nutricionista de perros. Los beneficios que tienen algunas frutas para el can han sido también estudiados por Rick Woodford, autor del libro 'Alimenta mejor a tu mejor amigo' ('Feed Your Best Friend Better', Andrews McMeel, 2012). "Las comidas y piensos procesados para perros contienen el balance apropiado de proteínas, grasas, vitaminas y minerales que el animal necesita", explica Woodford, que también escribe el blog The Dog Food Dude. Sin embargo, añade Woodford, estos alimentos envasados para perros también contienen algunas carencias: "carecen de antioxidantes y otras vitaminas y sustancias que sí contienen los alimentos naturales como la fruta". Estas sustancias presentes en la fruta, añade, son importantes para asegurar la salud del can a largo plazo. "Previenen enfermedades como el cáncer o las dolencias de corazón en el perro", afirma. Algunas frutas, además, son ricas en fibra, apunta Gutiérrez
por su parte. "Aunque los canes no necesitan tomar mucha, ingerir pequeñas cantidades de fibra beneficia su sistema digestivo", dice. Antes de introducir cualquier fruta en la alimentación de un perro hay que consultar con el veterinario o nutricionista canino. No todas las frutas son buenas para el can: las hay algo peligrosas e, incluso, tóxicas para perros, como las uvas y las pasas, siempre que el animal las ingiera en grandes cantidades. ¿Qué frutas sí son beneficiosas? "Todas deben estar libres de pipas y semillas antes de ofrecérselas al can", remacha el autor de 'Alimentar mejor a tu mejor amigo'. Lo importante es lograr una dieta equilibrada para el perro, señala, por su parte, el veterinario Fausto Andrés. "Si se alimenta con la cantidad de proteínas suficientes, se le puede ofrecer frutas sin problemas", asegura.
¿Cómo lograr que el perro coma fruta?
Es mejor cortar la fruta en trozos, para que el perro muerda su carne Introducir las frutas en la dieta del can desde que es un cachorro es una de las claves para que el animal acepte este alimento. Para ello, Gutiérrez propone mezclarlas con otros alimentos, como sardinas enlatadas o pollo, y hacer un puré con los frutos. Woodford aporta otro consejo: cortar la fruta en trozos. "Muchas frutas están envueltas en una piel dura, que puede suponer una resistencia para el can. Cortarlas en pedazos ayuda a que muerda la carne de la fruta y que no sea la piel lo primero que encuentre". La pauta, de nuevo, es no caer en el exceso. "La fruta no debe sustituir a la alimentación habitual, sino ser ofrecida como premios o regalos", concluye Andrés.
Frutas para perros: consejos rápidos Un resumen rápido, para no perderse. Hay frutas beneficiosas para el perro. Entre ellas, la manzana, los arándanos y el pláta-
no. Otras, como las uvas o las pasas pueden ser tóxicas, si el can las ingiere en grandes cantidades: dañan sus riñones. Algunos veterinarios, además, recomiendan retirar las semillas de las frutas (manzanas, peras albaricoque, etc.) que se ofrecen al perro: son perjudiciales e inflaman su aparato digestivo, en especial si son grandes.
¿Otro consejo? Antes de introducir frutas en la dieta canina hay que consultar con el veterinario o nutricionista: no todos los perros aceptan el mismo tipo de dieta. Cualquier cambio en su alimentación debe ser paulatino y supervisado por un profesional: no se pueden descartar posibles alergias. Como es obvio, las frutas no pueden sustituir la dieta habitual del can: se trata de un suplemento que debe ofrecerse en pequeñas cantidades. Mezclar peras o manzanas con alimentos naturales y sabrosos, como el pollo, ayuda a que el animal acepte estos alimentos.

TEN FRUITS that dogs eat Fruits like apple, banana and blueberries provide antioxidants and fibre to the dog Pears, apples, bananas, blueberries ... These foods cannot only be a part of the human diet. "Fruits like apples and pears can provide great benefits to the dog," says veterinarian and canine dietician, Carlos Alberto Gutiérrez, author of the blog Dog Nutritionist. The benefits of some fruits for canines have also been studied by Rick Woodford, author of the book 'Feed Your Best Friend' (Andrews McMeel, 2012). "Processed dog food and biscuit contains the proper balance of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals the animal needs," explains Woodford, who also writes The Dog Food Dude blog. However, adds Woodford, these packaged dog foods also contain some shortcomings: "they lack antioxidants and other vitamins and substances that are contained in natural foods like fruit." These substances, present in the fruit, he adds, are important to ensure the health of the dog in the long term. "They prevent diseases like cancer or heart ailments in the dog," he says. Some fruits, moreover, are rich in fibre, notes Gutiérrez. "Although dogs do not need to drink too much, small amounts of fibre will benefit their digestive system," he adds. Before introducing any fruit into a dog's diet you should consult with the veterinarian or canine nutritionist. Not all fruits are good for the dog: there is something dangerous and even toxic for dogs, such as grapes and raisins, when the animal ingests them in large quantities.

"Many fruits are wrapped in a hard skin, which can cause a resistance to the dog. By cutting them into pieces helps to bite into the flesh of the fruit and that is not the skin the first thing they encounter." The rule to follow, again, is not to give excesses. "Fruit should not replace the usual food, but be offered as treats or rewards," Andrés concludes.
Fruits for Dogs: Quick Tips A brief summary, there are fruits which are beneficial to our dogs. Among them, are, apples, blueberries and bananas. Others, such as grapes or raisins, can be toxic if they are ingested in large quantities: they
may damage their kidneys. Some veterinarians also recommend removing the seeds from the fruits (apples, apricot pears, etc.) that are offered to the dog: they are harmful and may inflame the digestive system, especially if they are large. Another tip, before introducing fruits into the cogs diet you should consult with a veterinarian or nutritionist: not all dogs accept the same type of diet. Any change in their diet should be gradual and su-
pervised by a professional; also you cannot rule out possible food allergies. Obviously, fruits cannot replace the dog’s usual diet, it is a supplement that must be offered in small quantities. Mixing pears or apples with natural and tasty foods, such as chicken, helps the animal to accept these foods.

La Virgen de África une Sabinillas y Ceuta De todos es sabido que Sabinillas ha sido desde principios de los años 80 un lugar donde muchos ceutíes adquirieron viviendas, sobre todo en la zona de La Colonia. Y allí, en este rincón de Sabinillas, luce un mosaico de la Patrona de Ceuta, la Virgen de África, una imagen del siglo XV, de estilo gótico, que fue enviada desde Portugal por el infante Enrique el Navegante en 1.421. Y como no podía ser de otro modo, de esto quería hablaros, porque fueron un grupo de ceutíes los que inauguraron este mosai-
co el 3 de Agosto de 1.989, promovido por el recordado D. José García Cosío, que era el presidente de las Cofradías de Ceuta, y que además fué el cronista oficial de la ciudad de 1.972 hasta 1.996. En sus memorias, plasmó así ese día: “En este día tuvo lugar en S. Luis de Sabinillas un día ceutí, motivado por la inauguración de un mosaico de la V. de África en la calle que lleva su nombre en esta barriada manilveña. Recibí el apoyo del concejal de festejos de Manilva Diego Rojas y del concejal de turismo de Ceuta An-

Comenzó la fiesta con una Misa Rociera delante de la plaza de la Iglesia, oficiada por el vicario de la diócesis de Ceuta Sebastián Araujo, cantando la Misa el coro de la hermandad del Rocío de Ceuta, (invitado y costeado el desplazamiento por el Ayuntamiento de Manilva) así como la banda de cornetas y tambores de la cofradía de La Amargura. Presidieron el oficio Antonio Parra, alcalde de
Manilva y Fructuoso Miaja Sánchez, alcalde de Ceuta. Después la gran cantidad de asistentes se dirigieron a descubrir el mosaico, cubierto por la bandera nacional. Una vez inaugurado, se degustó una paella para 1.500 personas y los políticos fueron atendidos en el chiringuito “Los Bandarrias”. Posteriormente en el Ayuntamiento se intercambiaron placas y escudos y el alcalde de Ceuta ofreció una caseta al alcalde manilveño en la feria ceutí del año siguiente”. 6 años más tarde, el 6 de Agosto de 1.995, se colocaron en el mosaico, un teja-
dillo, 2 faroles y un florero, promovido también por D. José García Cosío, un gasto que ascendió a 30.000 pesetas, sufragado por una suscripción del Centro de Hijos de Ceuta. Actualmente, son muchos los ceutíes que siguen comprando en la localidad la segunda residencia, además de los que nos visitan y pasan aquí sus vacaciones de verano, atraídos por la cercanía, el clima, la tranquilidad, nuestra gastronomía, y como dice el último eslogan porque Manilva tiene “las playas infinitas de la Costa del Sol” y son para disfrutarlas.

The Virgin de Africa unites Sabinillas and Ceuta Everyone knows that Sabinillas has been a place in which many Ceutans acquired homes since the early 1980s, especially in the La Colonia area. And there, in this corner of Sabinillas, you can find a mosaic of the Patron Saint of Ceuta, the Virgin de Africa, based on a 15th Century image, in the Gothic style, which was sent from Portugal by the Infante Henry the Navigator in 1421. And how could it be otherwise, I wanted to tell you about this, because it was a group from Ceuta who inaugurated this mosaic on August 3, 1989, promoted by the fondly remembered D. José García Cosío, who was the president of the Brotherhoods of Ceuta, and who was also the official chronicler of that city from 1972 to 1996.
Here are his memories that he captured that day: “On this day, a Ceutan day took place in San Luis de Sabinillas, motivated by the inauguration of a mosaic of the Virgen de Africa on the street that bears her name in this neighbourhood in Manilva. I received the support of Manilva's Councillor for celebrations, Diego Rojas and Ceuta's Councillor for tourism, Antonio Vázquez Sarmiento, who welcomed the idea, encouraging me to do this when Rociero Sunday was celebrated there. The party began with a Rociera Mass in front of the Plaza de la Iglesia, officiated by the vicar of the diocese of Ceuta, Sebastián Araujo, and singing the Mass was the choir of the

brotherhood of Rocío de Ceuta, (invited and their travel paid for by the Manilva Town Council) as well as the drum and bugle band of the La Amargura brotherhood. Officiating were Antonio Parra, Mayor of Manilva, and Fructuoso Miaja Sánchez, Mayor of Ceuta. The large number of attendees then went to observe the unveiling of the mosaic, which was covered by the national flag. Once opened, a paella for
1,500 people was enjoyed and the politicians were treated at the "Los Bandarrias" beach bar. Later on the Council plaques and shields were exchanged and the Mayor of Ceuta offered the Mayor of Manilva a stand at the Ceuta fair the following year”. 6 years later, on August 6, 1995, a canopy, 2 lanterns and a vase were placed on the mosaic, also promoted by Mr. José García Cosío, at a cost of 30,000 pesetas,
paid for by a subscription from the Children's Centre of Ceuta. Currently, many Ceuta people continue to buy the second residence in the town, in addition to those who visit us and spend their summer holidays here, attracted by the proximity, the climate, the tranquility, our cuisine, and as the recent slogan says because Manilva has “the infinite beaches of the Costa del Sol” and they are here to be enjoyed.

Cuquita Kitchen... Hablamos con Orielo’s Kitchen A Juan, o mejor al “Chef Orielo” hace once años le detectaron una intolerancia a la Lactosa y nos cuenta que “entonces creí que este problema me limitaría muchísimo y que tendría que dejar de comer mis platos favoritos”, recordando que “sobre todo porque en 2010 apenas había productos sin Lactosa en los supermercados”. Orielo nos dice en la charla que “no me di por vencido y aunque no soy cocinero profesional, ni médico, ni nutricionista, hice un blog de recetas sin Lactosa, bueno ya lo conocéis “Orielo’s Kitchen”, recetas sin lactosa para ayudar y compartir todo lo que he ido aprendiendo y sigo descubriendo en esta gran comunidad de lactosillos“. ara los que sufren de intolerancia a la lactosa no es fácil salir a comer fuera. Elegir un restaurante significa un esfuerzo extra, pero poco a poco, las cartas de menú van incluyendo los símbolos y las características de cada plato para este colectivo social y es que entre el 20 y el 40% de la población española podría sufrir este problema, según la Fundación
Española del Aparato Digestivo (FEAD). Uno de los que han sufrido en sus carnes es Juan Fernández, conocido en las Redes Sociales como “Chef Orielo”. Almeriense de nacimiento y residente en Málaga, donde desde 2017 trabaja como profesor de secundaria de la especialidad de Administración de Empresas.
For those who suffer from lactose intolerance it is not easy to eat out. Choosing a restaurant means extra effort, but little by little, menus now include the symbols and characteristics of each dish for this social group, with between 20% and 40% of the Spanish population possibly suffering from this problem, according to the Spanish Foundation of the Digestive System (FEAD). One of those who has suffered is Juan Fernández, known in Social Networks as “Chef Orielo”. Almerian by birth and resident in Malaga, where since 2017 he has worked as a high school teacher specialis-

Juan, or rather “Chef Orielo”was diagnosed with an intolerance to Lactose some eleven years ago and he tells us that “then I believed that this problem would limit me greatly and that I would have to stop eating my favourite dishes”, remembering that “this was mostly because in 2010 there were very few Lactose-free products in supermarkets ”. Orielo tells us during our chat that "I did not give up and although I am not a professional chef, doctor, or nutritionist, I made a blog of Lactose free recipes, 'Orielo's Kitchen', recipes to help and share

He declares that it is a humble and tiny blog, although he received the award for the 2nd Best Cooking Blog in Spain in 2014 by Canal Cocina TV and tells us that “thanks to this I was able to record my own programme for Cook Bloggers on Canal Cocina, which was launched in 2015, two years later I received the Silver Button from YouTube for the 100,000 subscribers.” That same year, our friend Juan, published his first book on “Desserts without Lactose”, with a prologue written by the singer Mónica Naranjo (also a 'lactosilla' like us), “it was something super cool, as was the tour of presentations, because it led me to sign my book for people in Malaga, Granada, Almería, Marbella, Madrid and Barcelona ”, he tells us excitedly. Chef Orielo is very happy “because I am starting to teach online cooking workshops, with simultaneous interpretation in sign language, because people in the deaf community asked me for it so that they are able to enjoy my reci-
pes without problems. I feel very, very happy and proud of all these achievements, especially for having created the largest community of 'lactosillos' and 'lactosillas' in the world, so that we can live life #happysinlactose". Fit and strong at 50! Jojo Ruby France For those that know me, know I absolutely love working out, I do it for my living, I do it for my hobby and I also research it at any opportunity. I know most of you would think that crazy- but exercise is what makes me tick.the feeling I have after a good sweaty session makes my endorphins flow- I just love that feeling, and I feel fitter and stronger now than I did aged 20! What I have learned over many years is, Not all routines are created equal. Over 15 yearsrding fitness, please get in touch.
So last month I wrote about being fit and strong, and this month I’m going to tell you what I actually do!
1. Lift the “big four” The squat, deadlift, bench press, and shoulder press are the best strength-training exercises.The pull up and dips are great moves too, but don’t make them the focus of your workout—they can be ‘add on exercise ‘ to complement the bench and shoulder press, keeping your pulling muscles in balance with the pressing ones.
2. Use barbells first Forget all the fad equipment. The barbell is king, dumbbell is queen, and everything else is a court jester, they may have their place, but they’re not essential. Start your workouts with barbell exercises, such as the “big four,” as described above. Barbells let you load a lot of weight, and lifting heavy is the first step toward getting stronger. Once your heaviest strength exercises are out of the way, you can move
on to dumbbell and bodyweight training.
3. Keep it simple Some trainers make their clients lift with a certain rep speed, like three seconds up, one second down. That’s great for advanced lifters, but if you’re just starting out know this: There’s no need to count anything but reps during a set. Simply focus on raising and lowering your weights in a controlled manner, pausing for a one-second count at the top of the lift. Using an arbitrary tempo can lessen tension on your muscles or force you to use varying amounts of weight, slowing your progress. The only way to be sure you’re getting stronger is if your loads consistently increase.
4. Maintain a log Write down your exercises, sets, reps, and the fate of each workout. Keep track of your best lifts and the most reps you’ve done with a certain weight on an exercise. Constantly strive to improve those numbers. Alway aim for good technique over weight, the sim is to be strong and not injured.
5. Don’t overdo it Try to stick to three or four lifts per workout. Keeping your workouts short helps you take advantage of hormonal surges. When you do too many exercises in a session, at least some of them get done half-assed. All you need is one main lift per workout (one of the big four), one or two assistance lifts (for keeping the body in balance and further strengthening the muscles that perform the main lift), Doing any more lessens your results.
6. Think five You should rotate many different rep ranges in your workouts, but sets of five seem to offer the best blend of muscle size and strength gains. If you’re pushing through one of the big four moves during strength training, you’ll find that your form often breaks down after five anyway.
7. Add weights slowly The main reason people plateau and stop gaining strength is that they go too heavy for too long. Abandon your ego and do your main lifts using 10% less than the most weight you can lift for the given rep range. Increase the weight each session — but by no more than 5k — and stick with the same lifts. You’ll rarely plateau again.
8- Cardio is a must if you want to
be lean and healthy, but long-distance running or cycling increases levels of hormones that break down muscle tissue. To get stronger while getting leaner, do cardio in short, intense bursts. Go to a moderately steep hill and sprint
to the top, then walk back down. When you’re ready, sprint again. In your first workout, do only half as many sprints as you think you could. In your next workout, do two more sprints than you did the first time. Continue adding two sprints to your workouts until you can’t improve anymore. Or add in body weight exercises, skipping, Kettlebells etc, aim for intensity and not a long duration. And finally - Make sure you balance your workouts, upper-lower, front- back etc Stretch everything after lifting weights, it really helps recovery. Consult with your GP before starting any new exercise regime, I highly recommendation an induction lesson or PT from a professional before you start to lift weights, learn how to lift before you lift heavy. Esta joven promesa del ciclismo sabe de sacrificios y deja claro que "aunque sea lo que más te guste hacer, no es nada fácil, son muchas horas de entrenamiento y dedicación". Su equipo senior femenino jugará la Liga Femenina 1, equivalente a la segunda categoría nacional y el equipo masculino ha dado el salto a la Liga EBA, el cuarto escalón del basket español. La Federación Española de Baloncesto ya ha dado a conocer los calendarios. Las chicas jugarán en septiembre la Copa de Andalucía con cuatro rivales más, debutando en casa el 3 de octubre ante el NB Paterna
valenciano. En cuanto a los chicos su primer partido será el 11 de octubre, en el Pabellón de la Lobilla, ante el CB La Zubia granadino. Este año
los aficionados al baloncesto de la comarca están de enhorabuena por el buen nivel que se verá en los partidos de los equipos esteponeros.
Both CAB Estepona's men and women will see league action This coming basketball season, CAB Estepona is flying high. Presentado el proyecto del futuro estadio de fútbol de Marbella
En Puerto Banús se presentó el proyecto del nuevo estadio de fútbol de Marbella, que nace con vocación de ser “el de la Costa del Sol”. Un proyecto que llega de la mano de la empresa Best Of You, cuyo CEO Oscar Ribot lo bautizó “como una joya urbanística que se convertirá en el símbolo de la ciudad”. Con la presencia de la alcaldesa Ángeles Muñoz, el concejal de Deportes Manuel Cardeña así como representantes de partidos políticos, sectores empresariales, sponsors y con un espectacular video de recreación de cómo será el estadio. Moderno, multiusos, con capacidad para unos 18.000 espectadores, 2.000 plazas de aparcamientos subterráneos, zona comercial, hotelera y también servirá para albergar grandes
eventos musicales y de otro tipo de actuaciones donde se reúnan un importante número de personas. Sin pistas de Atletismo y sobre el actual Estadio Municipal Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas, se pretende levantar este nuevo estadio del que Ribot asegura “ahora se necesita que el Ayuntamiento inicie el procedimiento adecuado y buscar agilizar la construcción porque esto va a ser un icono de la ciudad, que todo el mundo va a
admirar, será un proyecto Medioambiental sostenible”. No hay fechas concretas para el inicio de las obras y fuentes municipales han descartado que se puedan iniciar en este año, tampoco se ha evaluado el costo y qué inversor o inversores podrían entrar en el proyecto. Según el concejal de Deportes “hay muchos temas por ir aclarando, pero hay tiempo y el primer paso se ha dado, con la presentación del proyecto”.
