El alcalde de Manilva, Mario Jiménez, la concejala de Playas, Eva Galindo y varios ediles, han visitado la playa de Sabinillas para comprobar la construcción de la zona de sombra destinada a personas discapacitadas.
Según comentaba Eva Galindo, "aunque se va a habilitar de inmediato esta instalación, junto al puesto de Socorrismo en la playa de Sabinillas, se han solicitado a la Diputación Provincial de Málaga, la instalación de otras dos".
Se trata, según Galindo de "ofrecer el mejor servicio a estas personas y que puedan disfrutar de la playa. Por ello, también tendrán la posibilidad, previo aviso al equipo de socorristas, de ser trasladados al mar con transporte especial y

Se trata del conjunto residencial "Small Oasis Big Life" que ofertará 500 viviendas de distinta tipología a precios asequibles y Live Really Big, con 5.700 m cuadrados de zona verde, que pondrá en el mercado 190 viviendas en 2 fases de 78 y 112 cada una. Ruiz manifestó su satis-
facción porque asegura "no sólo se fijan en Manilva para realizar promociones nuevas, sino que las que estaban olvidadas se reactivan, siendo esto muy importante para que no haya en el municipio construcciones de este tipo que ofrecen una mala imagen". El "Mercado del Mar" vuelve al Paseo Marítimo de Sabinillas
A partir del 10 de julio y hasta el 30 de agosto, todos los se podrá visitar y disfrutar una nueva edición del "Mercado del Mar", en el Paseo Marítimo de Sabinillas, a la altura de la Noria.
Un año más y ya son 14, este será el escenario de este especial mercadillo que podrá disfrutarse todos los viernes, sábados y domingos a partir de las 20:00h. El edil, de Comercio Fran-

El servicio de transporte público municipal llegará a las urbanizaciones Desde el 13 de julio el ayuntamiento puso en marcha una nueva línea de autobús urbano con el objetivo de ampliar este servicio a las urbanizaciones. Alba Jiménez, edil responsable del área de Transportes, ha manifestado sobre este importante tema que "en principio estará operativo durante los meses de verano, aunque no se descarta la posibilidad de extenderlo a todo el año".
RECORRIDO
Saliendo desde el Centro de Interpretación Viñas de Manilva (CIVIMA), el Bus se trasladará por Manilva Green, Pueblo Mexicano, hará una parada junto al Cuartel de la Guardia Civil para continuar hacia la zona del Puerto, El Hacho, Los Hidalgos, Princesa Kristina, Hacienda Guadalupe y llegará hasta Bahía de las Rocas. Tras esta vuelta, continuará hasta Sabinillas.
HORARIO
De lunes a viernes, el horario de mañana será: a las 10,00 h., 11,30 h. y 13,00 h. y por la tarde, los recorridos se realizarán a las 16,00 h., 17,30 h. y 19,00 h.

The bus leaves from the Manilva Wine Centre (CIVIMA), the Bus route will include Manilva Green, Pueblo Mexicano, the Guardia Civil Barracks before continuing towards the Port area, El Hacho, Los Hidalgos, Princesa Kristina , Hacienda Guadalupe and finally Bahía de las Rocas, before returning to Sabinillas. The timetable is from Monday to Friday, with the morning schedule: 10 am, 11.30 am and 1 pm, and in the afternoon, departures from 4 pm, 5.30 pm and 7 pm. Tickets per journey are 1.25 euros, whilst for pensioners 75 cents. Mandatory use of a mask on the bus as well as respect for physical distance are required.

Del 13 al 25 de julio, jóvenes locales participarán en esta decimoséptima edición de un campus didáctico, que se llevará a cabo en las magníficas instalaciones de la Dama de Noche en Marbella. Un año más se contará con la colaboración de la Obra Social "La Caixa" en forma de becas a los niños de entre 8 y 16 años, que están en riesgo de exclusión social a la integración. Manilva Solicitors “ TIE”- THE NEW RESIDENTS CARD FOR BRITISH SUBJECTS AFTER BREXIT TIE FOR UK NATIONALS WITH A RESIDENT CARD OR CERTIFICATE
From 1st January 2021 the UK will no longer be a member of the European Union, that means all the British citizens who would like to become a Spanish Resident would need to apply for the new residents card, called the “TIE” The Spanish Government has established a new procedure for British people who wish to reside in Spain which is in operation now. Following is an explanation of the process and the requirements
FIRST TIME APPLICATION (WITH NO RESIDENT CARD OR CERTIFICATE)
UK Nationals that already have the Resident Card or Certificate are not obliged to apply for a TIE as together with a passport they are sufficient proof of residency and identity. However, some people may still want to apply for the TIE which is also possible although as I said not necessary. To apply for the TIE If you hold residency: -

NOTE ***People with under 5 years residency will get a TIE valid for 5 years and those with over 5 years residency will get a TIE valid for 10 years, both automatically renewable upon application. As you can see to obtain a residency card now for British subjects is more involved and requires, more patience, more documents and time to deal with each public office. We can take care of all of this for you. We can obtain all the appointments, assist you in person, check your documents, submit the official forms for each meeting and the payment of the stamp duty. Manilva Town Hall's Foreign Residents Department, represented by Councillor Laura López, met recently, at the Estepona National Police Station, with Ezequiel Camacho, Local Brigade Chief for Citizens´ Safety and Natalia Cortijo, Chief Inspector with the Local Brigade for Foreign Residents and Frontiers, in order to obtain, first-hand the changes in the procedures for foreign residents and, specifically, the procedure for British Citizens to obtain residency once Brexit is enforced. The councillor wishes to highlight the importance of carrying out these procedures correctly, as the Spanish Government has introduced a new document for United Kingdom citizens, all protected by the Withdrawal Agreement, which is a Foreign Identity Document or TIE.
You are reminded that British residents that already have a certificate of residence and are legally resident in Spain, will have their rights protected. For those who do not have a certificate of residence, but live in Spain and would like to continue living after 1st January 2021, they will have to request an Identity Foreign Document or TIE. This procedure will be carried out in the Subdelegación de Gobierno in Málaga. This is a new introduction into the procedure, together with some other aspects of the process. For the modification procedures, or in order to change to the TIE, if a British resident already has the Certificate of Residence of the European Union, the process can be carried out at the National Police Office, in this case in Estepona for residents of Manilva. wish to change the current Certificate of Residence of the European Union, in paper format, or green card, for the new TIE, this procedure can also be carried out in the offices of the National Police Station, but is not mandatory. Estepona El Ayuntamiento de Estepona baja de los 100 millones la "deuda heredada"
El Ayuntamiento de Estepona asegura que ha pagado ya más de 200 millones de euros de la deuda heredada, que ascendía a 300 millones de euros en junio de 2011. En concreto, el débito municipal se sitúa en 99,5 millones de euros. El alcalde de Estepona, José María García Urbano, ha explicado que se trata de un “hito en la gestión municipal que con austeridad, responsabilidad en el gasto y en los pagos, no
sólo se ha conseguido no generar deuda nueva sino que se han pagado en los últimos ocho años más de 200 millones de euros, lo que supone en 66% de la totalidad de este débito heredado". “Estepona ha vivido una gran transformación y una modernización en equipamientos e infraestructuras notoria en la ciudad, que ha ido acompañada de una gestión seria, eficaz y responsable de los recursos
municipales”, ha señalado García Urbano. De esta forma, el regidor ha recordado el esfuerzo realizado en los primeros años de gestión para ordenar las cuentas municipales para, a continuación, mantener en los sucesivos ejercicios una política económica de responsabilidad, cumpliendo con todas las obligaciones económicas y respondiendo y saldando esta deuda heredada.
Reducción de impuestos En materia de impuestos, el alcalde ha subrayado que en 2011 se adoptó el compromiso de reducir los impuestos a los ciudadanos, acumulando ya el IBI y la tasa de basura una reducción del 20% para todos los ciudadanos.
Al respecto, ha remarcado que “el día que esta ciudad no tenga que emplear los importantes esfuerzos económicos que se dirigen en estos momentos a pagar esa deuda heredada, la ciudad tendrá los recursos económicos suficientes
para continuar el ritmo de inversión, seguir mejorando los equipamientos e infraestructuras públicos y para, entonces, llevar a cabo la mayor bajada de impuestos realizada en esta ciudad, con una reducción del IBI a la mitad”

Las invitaciones son posibles gracias a un acuerdo de colaboración firmado entre el Ayuntamiento de Estepona y Parques Reunidos, la empresa responsable del recinto, según ha explicado hoy el alcalde, José María García Urbano. Las entradas se podrán recoger en el Ayuntamiento de Estepona, en el edificio Puertosol.
El regidor ha señalado que Selwo Aventura sigue siendo uno de los símbolos turísticos de la localidad y una visita obligada para los turistas, ya que es uno de los mejores parques de Andalucía, en continua renovación y mejora de sus instalaciones. Un año más, Estepona se distingue por su "playa sin humo" La playa de La Rada ha sido declarada un año más por la Junta de Andalucía como un espacio libre de humos, se trata de una zona que se ubica en pleno centro de la ciudad y que habilitó el Consistorio en 2019 con el objetivo de garantizar que los ciudadanos puedan disfrutar de un espacio donde no se pueda fumar frente al mar. La edil Susana Aragón, ha destacado que esta playa sin fumadores es la única de estas características en la Costa del Sol y se ubica en la céntrica playa de La Rada, en el mismo área del
año pasado y ocupa una superficie aproximada de 1.000 metros cuadrados. Asimismo, la responsable ha comentado que esta medida tiene como obje-
tivo promover hábitos de vida saludables y mejorar la salud de los usuarios de la playa. También, Susana Aragón ha recordado que esta zona libre de hunos en La Rada pretende sensibilizar a la población sobre la importancia de evitar que los residuos de tabaco permanezcan en el litoral. Que Estepona cuente con una "Playa sin Humo" contribuye también a mejorar la imagen de la costa de la ciudad, se asegura desde el Consistorio, ya que cada vez son más las personas que quieren contar con espacios públicos donde no sufran las molestias del tabaco. Hay que recordar que el municipio cuenta con un servicio diario de baños asistidos y zonas de sombra en la playa para personas con movilidad reducida. Asimismo, se han ampliado las playas con servicio de socorrismo y se ha incorporando un dron que podrá realizar labores de rescate.

La Escuela Municipal de Ajedrez (EMAE) organiza, un año más, partidas de ajedrez en el paseo marítimo, durante todo el verano. La actividad "Juega con Nosotros" es gratuita y está abierta a todo el público que lo desee. Se llevará a cabo en la zona de los tableros gigantes de ajedrez, del 1 de julio al 28 de agosto, de lunes
a viernes, de 19:30 a 22:30 horas, bajo la supervisión del profesor de la EMAE, Miguel Abril. Además de los tableros de mesa para partidas rápidas, estarán disponibles doce tableros de gran formato, de 20 metros cuadrados cada uno, y piezas gigantes realizadas en plástico prensado de una longitud de 55 centímetros.

¿Podemos celebrar una Junta General Ordinaria (JGO)? ¿y una Extraordinaria? ¿Son legales las reuniones telemáticas? Ahora que el estado de alarma ha terminado, y todos nos estamos acostumbrando a la “nueva normalidad”, las preguntas que surgen son: ¿Podemos celebrar la JGO o JGE de nuestra comunidad? ¿Podemos celebrar una reunión telemática? La respuesta a la primera pregunta es sí. Podemos celebrar una junta, siempre y cuando se cumplan todas las medidas de seguridad recomendadas, pero aún así, hay muchos propietarios que prefieren que no se celebren. La Ley de Propiedad Horizontal indica que la JGO
debe celebrarse anualmente; pero conocemos sanciones o multas para la Comunidad por no celebrarla. En Cataluña, se ha autorizado que todas las JGO se puedan posponer hasta el próximo año. El resto de España aún estamos a la espera de que se legisle algo similar. Esto no significa que las reuniones no puedan celebrarse, significa que se considera que poner a decenas de personas en la misma habitación, gritando durante horas, puede suponer un problema de salud (antes del COVID-19 también lo era!). Por lo tanto, reco-
mendamos posponer todas las juntas hasta el próximo año, a menos que haya algo urgente que decidir. En cuanto a las reuniones telemáticas, Cataluña se nos ha vuelto a adelantar, han legalizado las juntas telemáticas, pero el resto del país aún está pendiente de que se legisle. Hay muchos propietarios que quieren asistir, pero no pueden debido a las restricciones de movilidad o por recomendaciones medicas, y esos propietarios tienen derecho a asistir y participar en las decisiones de la comunidad. Hay una forma de evitar
esta situación. Como las delegaciones de voto si son perfectamente legales, la Comunidad puede celebrar juntas ‘mixtas’, lo que significa que cualquier persona que asista a la reunión de forma remota necesitaría enviar su delegación y su representante votaría por ellos. La diferencia con estas reuniones es que el propietario que ha otorgado el poder podrá participar en la junta de forma remota y en tiempo real, para que puedan decidir por sí mismos y no cargar al representante con el peso de estas decisiones.
Para que esto sea legalmente aceptable, la Comunidad necesitaría establecer un protocolo a seguir. Este protocolo evitará futuros litigios de propietarios o terceros que no estén de acuerdo con el resultado de la reunión, este protocolo no es formal, pero espero que os ayude: 1. El Administrador deberá enviar una primera comunicación a todos los propietarios indicando que se utilizará un sistema de comunicación bidireccional para la reunión. Los propietarios que no quieran asistir telemáticamen-

te deben poder asistir en persona. Esta comunicación necesariamente incluirá los puntos del orden del día. 2. Envío del orden del día de la junta, junto con instrucciones específicas sobre cómo conectarse a la reunión. Recordando a los propietarios que no desean asistir en persona, que envíen su delegación de voto a su representante. 3. Aprobación, en el punto 1 de la reunión, para que las reuniones comunitarias se puedan realizar mediante sistemas de comunicación telematicas bidireccionales. Esto debe ser aprobado por unanimidad por los
presentes y representados, con el voto presunto del ausente. Por lo tanto, los propietarios que se conectan de forma remota tienen una voz, pero no voto, su voto debe ser a través de su representante, que necesariamente estará presente en la reunión. Debido a la situación actual, necesitamos cambiar nuestras costumbres y agilizar el funcionamiento normal de la comunidad con el uso de la tecnología, que, con suerte, se convertirá en una práctica común, y que se introduzcan sistemas como el blockchain, que registrará los votos de forma remota, por lo que la delegación de voto no sería
necesaria. Para entonces, esperamos haber superado la problemática actual y que hayamos aprovechado esta situación para implementar estos sistemas, que no se están utilizando por el miedo al cambio. Debemos ser respetuosos con nuestros vecinos, no sabemos por lo que ellos o sus familiares están pasando en estos tiempos tan complicados y sabemos que, si nos mantenemos unidos, (con la mascarillas puesta, por supuesto!), podremos ganar esta batalla. Can we hold our yearly AGM? What about an EGM? Are online meetings legal? Now the state of alarm is over, and we are all getting used to the ‘new normal’, the questions arising are: Can we hold and AGM or EGM in our Community? Can we hold an online meeting? The answer to the first question is yes. We can hold an AGM or an EGM, as long as all the safety measures are adhered to, but even so, there are many owners who would prefer the meeting not taking place. The Horizontal Property Law does indicate that AGM’s need to take place yearly; however, there are no known sanctions or fines to the Community for not holding an AGM. In Cataluña, where they have their own legislation for communities, they have authorized that all AGM’s can be postponed until
next year. The rest of Spain, has not approved this yet, but it is on the drawing board. This does not mean that meetings cannot take place, it means that putting dozens of people in the same room, shouting, for hours on end, may present a health risk (it already was before COVID-19!). So, we highly recommend postponing all meetings until next year, unless there is something urgent to be addressed. Regarding online meetings, Cataluña is ahead of us again, they have legalised online meetings, but the rest of the country are yet awaiting legislation. There are many owners who want to attend, but cannot due to the travel restrictions or health recommendations, and those owners have a right to attend and participate in the commu-
nity decisions. There is a way around this situation. As proxy votes are perfectly legal, the Community can hold ‘mixed meetings’, meaning that anyone attending the meeting remotely would need to send their vote in, and their proxy holder would vote for them. The difference to these meetings in the past, is that the owner who has given the proxy will be able to participate in the meeting remotely and in real time, so they can decide for themselves, and not burden the proxy holder with the weight of these decisions. For this to be legally acceptable, the Community would need to establish a protocol to be followed. Thus avoiding future litigation from owners or third parties who do not agree with the outcome of the
meeting, this isn’t set in stone, but will help everyone to move forward: 1. The Administrator will need to send a first communication to all owners indicating that there will be a bidirectional communication system used for the meeting. Owners who do not want to attend online must be allowed to attend in person. This communi-
cation will necessarily include the items to be discussed at the meeting. 2. Sending out the formal agenda for the meeting, along with specific instructions on how to connect to the meeting. Reminding owners who do not wish to attend in person to send their proxy to their representative. 3. Approval, in item 1 of .....

This needs to be approved unanimously by those present and represented, and anyone who does not vote is presumed in agreement. So, owners who connect remotely have a voice, but not a vote, their vote needs to be via their designated proxy who will necessarily be present at the meeting. Due to the current situation, we need to change our customs and allow the community to continue its course with the use of technology, which will hopefully become of common practice in the future, such as the used of blockchain, that will record the
votes remotely and then proxy holders will not be needed. By then, the serious problems we are experiencing today will have been overcome, and, we can take avail of the situation to implement these systems that have not been used in the past due to the fear of change. Be considerate with your fellow owners, as you do not know what they or their families are going through in these difficult times, and we know that if we stick together (with our facemask of course!), we can win this battle. El Ayuntamiento ha acometido la reparación de la pasarela de madera del sendero del estuario del río Guadiaro, con el objetivo de poner en valor este espacio natural. Además de sustituir las barandillas y baldas de madera que están deterioradas, se está realizando una limpieza de
vegetación para facilitar el tránsito de las personas y, también, para aumentar el campo de visión y poder así disfrutar de la belleza de este paraje natural. El paraje natural del estuario del río Guadiaro tiene 35 hectáreas de extensión, de las que se protegieron inicialmente 27 en 1989 y se ampliaron
en otras 8 hectáreas en 2013. Este enclave también ha sido declarado Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves en 2002 y en la modificación de 2013 quedaba declarado también como Zona de Especial Conservación (ZEC) y su integración en la Red Natura 2000.
Repairs carried out to the Guadiaro estuary walkway San Roque Council has undertaken the repair of the wooden walkway at the Guadiaro river estuary path, with the aim of enhancing this natural space. In addition to replacing the rails and wooden slats that have deteriorated, the vegetation has been cut back
to give the public ease of passage and to open up the views so that people can enjoy the beauty of this natural area. The Guadiaro River estuary nature zone covers an area of 35 hectares, of which 27 were initially protected in 1989 and expanded by an-
other 8 hectares in 2013. This area has also been declared a Special Protection Area for Birds in 2002 and in the 2013 amendment it was also declared a Special Conservation Zone (ZEC) and its integration into the Natura 2000 Network.

El caballo reina cada verano en San Roque Sotogrande es la capital mundial del Polo cada verano En verano hablar de caballos en nuestra zona como punto de atracción turística, significa hablar de Sotogrande. A un paso de la Costa del Sol, en el municipio de San Roque se venera al equino porque genera un flujo turístico clave, incluido para los municipios malagueños limítrofes. En este verano especial con el Coronavirus como desgraciado protagonista, finalmente se va a poder disfrutar del espectáculo de los caballos y por partida doble. La organización de Santa María Polo Club y su gemela del Equestrian han optado por celebrar los eventos, con todas las medidas sanitarias establecidas hasta el más mínimo detalle. Y se abrirá con los saltos de caballo. El Santa María Equestrian Club de Sotogrande ha confirmado cuatro pruebas de hípìca en sus instalaciones para este verano. Exactamente se ha denominado el SMEC Summer Tour 2020, con 4 Concursos Nacionales de Salto, dos de categoría 3 estrellas y dos de 2 estrellas: CSN2* 16-18 de julio CSN3* 23-25 de julio CSN2* 13-15 de agosto CSN3* 20-22 de agosto Situado en la zona de Puente de Hierro después de su puesta en marcha a finales del pasado año, en este tiempo se ha mejorado tanto el entorno como el interior del recinto. Como han indicado sus responsables “no ha sido fácil reactivar las pruebas por los problemas que todos conocemos, pero esperamos contar con un buen número de jinetes y amazonas de España y fuera”.

Y el Polo llegará después La 49º edición del Torneo Internacional Mansion de Polo tendrá lugar desde el 25 de julio al 30 de agosto en el Santa María Polo Club, donde se disputarán las copas de Bronce, Plata y Oro. Se mantiene así en el calendario uno de los principales eventos deportivos y de ocio del verano en Andalucía. Heart FM will be taking on the 106 frequency, broadcasting from Gibraltar to Nerja, with Radio Mix focusing on developing a purely online format, which is the future of radio broadcasting. Both stations will simultaneously air the morning shows, with Neal Adams and Lee Jay between 8 am and 12 noon as well as Radio Mix’s exclusive specialist shows such as Rabbit’s Riddims, Going Places, Indie Andaluz, Riff Monkeys and It’s A Way Of Life, which go out at 10 pm. At other times Heart and Mix will separate and broadcast our own great playlists for which we’ve become so popular. Rompe o abre el cielo un crepúsculo de gaviotas. Las familias han estado en la playa. El sol ha ofrecido su perfume de luz como una fuente que arde y al atardecer se marcha; es por eso que las gaviotas, desde el cielo, con alas de arena, iluminadas, bordean la vieja torre y la inmensa roca que está cercana a la orilla; algunas se visten con las olas al antojo de las mareas. Todos están... Allí los hombres, como pausas de agua, como barcos del tiempo. Todos celebran el cumpleaños del mar. Hay un mar rebelde que se desintegra en hojas azules porque un árbol dormido se despertó en el otoño por un amor imposible y pleno de piratas y sirenas. Mas, hay un mar no viejo, no anciano, un mar sin edad, sin barrera de carne o materia de sazón. Este mar tiene las virtudes de la paz; es sereno, sus olas dejan jugar siempre a los niños en la orilla, una mano en la arena en el hoyo del sueño. Arena cálida en la superficie, y abajo, las raíces del mar la refresca, así la arena húmeda se pega en las manos, arena engomada en la piel. Los niños en traje de baño saltan un montículo, casi una duna, elaborada por ellos mismos, antes que se deshaga. (Duna, preñez de playa inmaculada). En el mar nadan hombres y mujeres, pendientes del día claro y la noche azul; este mar enjuga con algas de sal los cuerpos; y nadar allí es como volar, es verter el duelo del pecho por las manos. También hay un mar de noche extendida, dormido para siempre, que se quedó en la gloria del perfume de la dama de noche, y que no supo andar en el amanecer porque unas huellas dolían realmente. El mar, el que nace ahora y después, el único mar, el que está vivo en los ojos: y allí se baña un mundo, abierto con el aire el corazón besado de corrientes. Y nada el universo junto al hombre. Superó una de las farolas de la acera y sonrió al ver como su sombra se iba desplazando hacia un lado hasta quedar tras de él. También se percató de que el humo del cigarrillo también salía de su sombra. La verdad era que nunca se había fijado en ese detalle. De repente tosió con cierta brusquedad, como si sus pulmones le estuvieran diciendo que ya valía, que no fuera tan persistente en fumar, que le diera tiempo a recuperarse después de cada cigarrillo. Hizo un gesto de despreciativo con su mano derecha y la ceniza se precipitó sobre su abrigo de paño. Soltando una maldición, sacudió la ceniza a manotazos mientras la sensación de que había alguien detrás de él se agudizó. En esta ocasión, sí se giró, incluso con temor lo hizo, y entonces la vio junto a él, sonriendo con una sonri-
sa feroz, como si disfrutara del momento, como si le importara un pimiento el terror que solía causar entre los que la veían. La impresión tan fuerte que le produjo la vista de tan odiada señora, fue la culpable de que sintieran un pinchazo en el centro del pecho y las rodillas se le doblaran debido a la pérdida de fuerza vital; lentamente, su cuerpo fue doblándose hacia el suelo. En aquel momento, poco le importaba mancharse el abrigo. Realizando un enorme esfuerzo, miró hacia arriba, hacia la culpable de lo que le estaba sucediendo en aquel momento; quiso amenazarla con su dedo índice, decirle que la odiaba, que no deseaba saber nada de ella. Pero la Parca, después de mirarle con desprecio, giró su cuerpo y se marchó en dirección a otro lugar, a otro sitio en el que una nueva víctima despreciara su existencia. No era nada personal, era su trabajo. ¡Como disfrutaba realizándolo!

En Sabinillas, una de las tiendas vende ropa, zapatos, sombreros y accesorios de segunda mano, mientras que la otra vende una amplia gama de muebles usados, objetos decorativos, artículos para el hogar, libros, CDs, DVDs, etc. En la tienda de Cancelada se pueden encontrar todos los mismos tipos de artículos que en las dos anteriores además de muebles más grandes como sofás y camas.
Gracias a las generosas donaciones recibidas, hay nuevos artículos en todas las tiendas a diario. ¡Pásate por las tiendas regularmente para no perderte ninguna ganga! Además de contar con algunos artículos geniales, las tiendas benéficas de St George también ofrecen la opción de alquilar algunos de sus ofrendas como sillas de ruedas, muletas, cunas de viaje, etc. La organización de la tienda siempre agradece las donaciones de artículos usados de calidad, y puede organizar su recogida si fuese necesario. Saint George Charity Shops
The St George Charity operates three charity shops, two in Sabinillas, Manilva and one in La Cancelada, Estepona. In Sabinillas one of the shops sells quality second hand clothing, shoes, hats and accessories; whilst the other sells a wide range of secondhand furniture, decorative items, household goods, books, cds, dvds, etc. Our shop in La Cancelada sells the same full range of secondhand items as our Sabinillas shops and also stocks larger items of
furniture and beds. Thanks to our generous donors there are new items in the shops daily, so visit regularly so as not to miss out on that bargain. As well as stocking some great quality items the St George Charity shops also rent out various items such as wheelchairs, walking aids, travel cots, etc. The shop management welcomes donations of quality secondhand items, and can arrange collection of larger items that cannot be brought in a car, or where appropriate.

The Saint George Charity runs a food bank initiative to help local people who are finding it difficult to make ends meet after the current pandemic crisis and this facility has never been more needed than now. the local community, to respond to this emergency, although it has drawn on all the Charity's resources to do so. Whilst things are beginning to improve and a few of the people we have helped are beginning to find their feet again financially, we anticipate that the consequences of Covid-19 will rattle on for the majority long after the virus itself comes under control. Banco de alimentos Saint George La asociación benéfica Saint George Charity, es la responsable del Banco de Alimentos, que ayuda a a numerosas personas del municipio con dificultades reales para llegar a fin de mes, tras la crisis originada por la Pandemia del Covid-19, una actividad que esta organización desarrolla de forma habitual pero que en este tiempo se ha convertido en una de las acciones más importante desde su nacimiento como entidad benéfica. Age Concern Estepona y Manilva has a new President! On June 10th Tony Aldous stood down due to ill health and Marie-Andrée Gleeson was elected President. Marie-Andrée Gleeson, became a shop volunteer in May 2013 and Duty-Manager in February 2014. In
June 2015 she joined the Executive Committee as Shop Manager. During 2016 Marie-Andrée started picking up welfare cases and became Welfare Officer and Vice-President in 2017. Since then she has liaised with many different organisations and departments both Spanish and English with her work for Age Concern. She and her team have worked very hard during the State of Alarm feeding the elderly and infirm in our area with the help of many donations of food. We wish her well and are sure she will be a great President and representative for ACEyM. We would like to say a big thank you to Tony Aldous for all his hard work with ACEyM over the last 17½ years. Stephen Brooksbank Rest in Peace Age Concern Estepona y Manilva would like to say how sad they were to hear of the unexpected death in early June of Stephen Brooksbank. He was one of the founder members of Age Concern Estepona y Manilva in 2003/4 and worked tirelessly to help others. In February 2017 he moved on to help found Age Concern Marbella & San Pedro. Ex-President Tony Aldous said that Stephen will be sorely missed as he was instrumental in helping countless people on the Costa del Sol.

Casares, un atractivo para los hoteles de “superlujo” en la Costa del Sol El Hotel Doña Julia Conrad Costa del Sol, tendrá una inversión de más de 70 millones de euros y una generación de empleo cercana a los 200 puestos de trabajo.
El municipio de Casares, con unos 7.000 habitantes censados, está a un paso de convertirse en uno de los puntos de atracción de turismo de más lujo de toda la Costa del Sol. Ya lo es por derecho con la presencia del Hotel Finca Cortesin y del campo de golf que lo circunda. Pero ahora viene el futuro Hotel Doña Julia Conrad Costa del Sol, que abrirá en 2022 con unos 70 millones de euros de inversión. Ya lo dijo el alcalde Pepe Carrasco (IU) en el acto de presentación, “hoy es un día muy importante e histórico para nuestro municipio, donde hemos demostrado con tanto tiempo
de gestiones, que ha sido muy positiva la colaboración entre las distintas administraciones”. Casares conjuga playa y sierra en sus tres núcleos y una idiosincrasia especial hacia el tipo de turista que llega a su municipio. Mucha apuesta por la naturaleza, el ocio sin contaminación, el deporte y el relax. Para la economía de Casares es importante destacar que las empresas del municipio del área servicios construcción participarán en las obras del nuevo hotel y que buena parte de los 200 puestos de trabajo, que serán necesarios para su apertura también será

Así lo afirmó a La Voz del Resident el director gerente de desarrollo de la Cadena Hilton en España y Portugal, Carlos Miró, quien aseguró que “si no ocurre nada inesperado, en octubre de este año comenzarán las obras y todo debería de estar terminado en el primer cuatrimestre del año 2022”. La inversión llegará a los 70 millones de euros para contar con 194 habitaciones, así como un Spa, varias piscinas y también restaurantes. Según Miró “en el mundo hay 6.162 hoteles de la cadena, pero sólo 34 de la marca Conrad, la Premium de la compañía y tenemos en perspectiva 15, uno de ellos este de Casares”. Hay
que recordar que el fondo de inversión Platinum Estates logró recuperar el terreno y ha conseguido convencer a la cadena norteamericana Hilton para gestionarlo. El de Casares será el primero de la marca Conrad Hotels and Resorts en España. La consejera delegada de Turismo Costa del Sol y vicepresidenta de la Diputación Provincial de Málaga, Margarita del Cid, acudió a la presentación y fue clara al destacar la gran fortaleza de la costa en establecimientos de calidad y de lujo, “el segmento de lujo es un segmento con enorme potencial para la zona que mueve en el destino más de medio millón de visitantes anuales y el gasto medio de este tipo de turista supera los 600 euros diarios y el presupuesto de viaje oscila entre 3.000 y 50.000 euros, por lo que es

un segmento que conlleva importantes beneficios para la actividad económica del destino”, aseguró. En cuanto a Finca Cortesin está abierto ya como Hotel y Campo de Golf después de la Pandemia. Casares, attracting "super luxury" hotels to the Costa del Sol The Hotel Doña Julia Conrad Costa del Sol, will see an investment of more than 70 million euros and will generate close to 200 jobs. The Costa del Sol municipality of Casares, with some 7,000 registered residents, is one step away from becoming one of the most luxurious tourist attractions on the entire Costa del Sol. It can already make this claim thanks to the presence of the Hotel Finca Cortesin and the golf course that surrounds it. But now comes the future Hotel Doña Julia Conrad Costa del Sol, which will open in 2022 with around 70 million euros of investment. Mayor Pepe Carrasco stated at the presentation, "Today is a very important and historic day for our municipality, where we have shown with so much time in negotiations, that the collaboration between the different administrations has been very positive" . Las personas que no utilicen la mascarilla obligatoria en público, pueden recibir una multa El Consejero de Sanidad ha anunciado que habrá multas para aquellos que no utilicen la mascarilla obligatoria en Andalucía, el gobierno autonómico aprobó el uso obligatorio de mascarillas incluso cuando se observa el distanciamiento social. El Gobierno andaluz presentó al Consejo de Gobierno la petición de la obligación de utilizar mascarillas en público para prevenir las infecciones por Coronavirus, incluso manteniendo la distancia de seguridad, algo que ha sido presentado por el Consejero de Salud y Familia, Jesús Aguirre, quien agregó que “esta norma puede ocasionar multas para aquellos que no utilicen la mascarilla”. En una entrevista en la Ca-
dena Ser, Aguirre señaló que “será la Policía Local quien deberá sancionar y multar a quienes no utilicen mascarillas, de acuerdo con las regulaciones estatales, lo que puede conllevar una multa de 100 euros”. Con respecto al uso de mascarillas, el consejero de Salud ha detallado que la obligación “ayuda a crear conciencia entre la población, a no relajarse y olvidar que estamos en una Pandemia", dijo Aguirre. Aguirre ha mencionado que la Junta de Andalucía está considerando más medidas, además de la mascarilla obligatoria. El consejero reveló también
que puede haber un límite para los velorios y los funerales, un punto caliente donde se han ocasionado algunos brotes. People not wearing the obligatory mask in public could be fined Andalucia approved the mandatory use of masks last Monday even when social distancing is observed. The Andalucian Government plans to bring to the Government Council on Tuesday the obligation to wear masks when in public to prevent Coronavirus infections, even if the safe distance can be maintained. This has been put forward by the Minister of Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, who added that this rule will mean fines for those not wearing amask in Andalucia. In an interview on the Ser network, Aguirre pointed out that it will be the Local Police officers who will have to sanction and fine Andalucians who do not wear a mask. According to state regulations, not wearing a mask carries a pe-
nalty of 100 euros. Regarding the use of masks, the Minister of Health has detailed that the obligation helps to raise awareness among the population, to "not relax" and "forget that we are in a pandemic," said Aguirre. Aguirre has mentioned that the Junta are considering more measures, in addition to the mandatory mask. The Minister revealed that it may see a limit to wakes and funerals, a hot spot where some outbreaks have been caused. Aguirre has also indicated that gatherings of young people and in family gatherings are where social distance measures are most infringed. "People are greeting each other as before leading to increases of contagion," Aguirre has warned.

Francisco Ledesma “El Pipa” 88 años dedicado a la música, porque como él mismo dice, “toco desde que mi madre me parió”. Y nos cuenta en esta breve conversación que su amor por la música empezó cuando tenía unos dos años y nos cuenta de forma pausada que “vino a Manilva el Regimiento Pavía y al ver y escuchar la banda de cornetas y tambores, ya me puse a aporrear todo lo que cogía”, y nos cuenta algún dato más que recuerda como es el que si en la calle había alguien tocando el acordeón “cogía una cuchara y golpeaba la mesa llevando el ritmo”. Francisco compartió su
temprana afición con el trabajo en el campo, también en la construcción y los últimos años en el Ayuntamiento. “El Pipa” nunca estudió música y nos asegura que “todo, todo de oído y eso sí, le daba a cualquier palo” y lo que comenzó como una afición se convirtió en toda una vocación, llegando a dirigir, la Banda de Música municipal, donde había nos cuenta, toda clase de instrumentos como “clarinete, trompeta, saxofón, bajo…”. Francisco Ledesma ejerció su dirección también en la nave central de la Iglesia de Santa Ana de Manilva, así como en las proce-
siones y fiestas locales y ahora en sus ratos libres, va con frecuencia a ver ensayar a la Banda Municipal y nos cuenta entre sonrisas, que le encantan “Las Parrandas” en las fiestas locales. Quedo con “El Pipa” como le gusta que le llamen, en vernos cuando ensaye la banda, cosa que por otra parte a quien escribe estas líneas le apetece mucho, y aquí lo dejo en la céntrica calle Mar, en esta soleada mañana de Mayo y aprovecho “para irme con la música a otra parte”. Ha sido todo un placer, haber compartido este tiempo con Francisco.

88 years dedicated to music, because as he himself says, “I have played since my mother gave birth to me.” In this brief conversation he tells us that his love for music began when he was about two years old when “the Pavia Regiment came to Manilva and when I saw and heard the drum and bugle band, I already started pounding everything I could”, he also remembers someone in the street playing the accordion “I would take a spoon and hit the table along to the rhythm”. Francisco shared this early interest in music with his working life in the fields, also in construction and in recent years at the Town Hall. “El Pipa” never studied music and tells us that “he played everything by ear and yes, using anything as a
drumstick” and what started as a hobby became a whole way of life, leading to the Manilva Town Band, where he told us that, they played all kinds of instruments such as “clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, bass, etc.” Francisco Ledesma also enjoyed performing in the central nave of the Church of Santa Ana in Manilva, as well as in local processions and festivals and now in his spare time, he frequently goes to see the Manilva Town Band rehearse and tells us between smiles, who doesn’t love “Las Parrandas” at local fiestas. So we leave “El Pipa”, as he likes to be known, on this sunny May morning, with a promise to see him rehearsing with the band. It has been a real pleasure to share some time with Francisco.

A “Conchita” no le gusta el drama, más bien todo lo contrario Tomando un café, aquí al fresco en la terraza de “La Bodega de Agustín”, no sé si observar el panorama o el paisaje, pero creo que mejor me quedo con el paisaje. Hoy quería deciros amigos lectores que hace ya tiempo que he tenido el placer de conocer a una gran persona y me pide el cuerpo y la mente, contaros alguna cosa sobre ella. Entre “humo de cigarro que fuma Gardel”, como dice la canción del gran Manolo García, está “Conchita" y así aquí con sentado frente a una taza de café empieza todo, ¿quién es Conchita? Y es que así sin más, el nombre puede pasar desapercibido, pero amigos lectores, si decimos “la sobrina de Paco Bocanegra”, ya todos le ponemos cara y entonces sí que nos situamos. Nacida en Cañete la Real, y hasta los 19 años afincada en su pueblo natal, nuestra “Conchita” Inmaculada Concepción Romero Bocanegra, venía más que encantada a veranear a Manilva y concretamente a casa de su tío. Gran aficionada y activa al arte dramático y la poesía, empieza a compaginar en los años quizá más duros de su vida, sus dos grandes pasiones. Pienso para mí que quizá su vida ha sido digna de un guion dramaturgo basado en el drama, pero a “Conchita" no le gusta el drama, sino más bien todo lo contrario, es dicharachera, espontánea, servicial y podría estar así un buen rato pero no se acabarían los adjetivos, así que terminaré con decir que es una Artista, sí con mayúscula, en sus papeles de comedia y humor. Sus inicios en el mundo del teatro se remontan a su etapa escolar, algo que retomó después de pasados varios años, digamos que por el 2005, más o menos y me cuenta que empezaron a hacer sus primeros pinitos, seis o siete personas, recuerda entre ellas a Pepe García, José el Policía y otros. Así poco a poco, a fuego lento, es como hace unos cinco años su arte toma forma y se consolida en la Escuela Municipal de Teatro de Manilva, participando en innumerables obras de conocidos dramaturgos, “Como los chorros del Oro”, “Ganas de reñir”, “Concha Puerto”, “El Cerrojazo” y así un largo repertorio de esta
amiga y vecina y de la Escuela Municipal de Teatro. Y no quisiera terminar este café, sin mencionar el mejor y más duro papel de aquella joven de 27 años que regentaba el “Bar Pepe, el papel de luchadora, de madre y padre de valentía y coraje, pero nada de dramas, la mejor actriz de la vida que no sale en el papel couche. Me despido de vosotros hasta el próximo café, amigos lectores y no encuentro mejor
forma de hacerlo que con un fragmento de una poesía de Inmaculada Concepción Romero Bocanegra, mi “Conchita”, lo leo y admiro tal descripción en unos versos que no dejan indiferente a nadie, sin duda una historia resumida que emociona. ¿Por qué pasó presurosa? Por qué la muerte envidiosa te arrancó el Dios justiciero de los brazos de tu esposa.

"Conchita" does not like drama, rather the opposite Having a coffee, here al fresco on the terrace of "La Bodega de Agustín", I do not know whether to observe the panorama or the landscape, but I think I better stick with the landscape. Today I wanted to tell you, dear reader, that for a long time I have had the pleasure of meeting a very special person and she obliges my body and mind to tell you something about her. Born in Cañete la Real, and until 19 years old, settled in her hometown, our “Conchita” Inmaculada Concepción Romero Bocanegra, came more and more to delight in her summers spent here in Manilva, specifically at her
uncle's house. A great fan of, and active in, dramatic art and poetry, she began to combine, in perhaps the hardest years of her life, her two great passions. I think to myself that perhaps her life has been worthy of a playwright's dramatic script, but “Conchita" does not like drama, but rather just the opposite, she is chatty, spontaneous, helpful and could be like this for a long time. but adjectives would continue, so I will end by saying that she is an Artist, yes with a capital A, in her comedy and humorous roles. Her beginnings in the world of theatre go back to her school stage, something that she took up after several years had passed, let's say that around 2005, more or less, and she tells me that they started taking their first steps, six or seven of them, she remembers among them Pepe García, José the Policeman and others. So little by little, it is about five years ago that her art

took shape and consolidated in the Manilva Municipal School of Theatre, participating in countless works by well-known playwrights, “Como los chorros del Oro”, “Ganas de reñir”, “Concha Puerto”, “El Cerrojazo” and more in the long repertoire of this friend and neighbour of the Municipal Theatre School. And I would not want to finish this coffee, without mention of the best and hardest role taken on by that 27-year-old girl who ran the “Bar Pepe", the role of fighter, mother and father, of bravery and courage, but no drama, the
best actress of life that does not appear in the glossies. I say goodbye to you until the next coffee, dear reader and I can't find a better way to do it than with a fragment of a poem by Inmaculada Concepción Romero Bocanegra, my “Conchita”, I read it and I admire such a description in these verses that leave no one untouched. Fit at 50 Jojo Ruby France For those that know me, know I absolutely love working out, I do it for my living, I do it for my hobby and I also research it at any opportunity. I know most of you would think that crazy- but exercise is what makes me tick.the feeling I have after a good sweaty session makes my endorphins flow- I just love that feeling, and I feel fitter and stronger now than I did aged 20! What I have learned over many years is, Not all routines are created equal. Over 15 years ago I realized what I was teaching- the classic 45 minutes a day of work, 3-5 days a week , wasn’t actually working. Yes the initial results were great, but after 6 months progress of both myself and clients had plateaued . In fact I became Very frustrated to think I was doing “all the right things,” but somehow moving the wrong way. I wasn’t leaner, fitter or stronger. I wanted to know why?
“Conventional wisdom wastes a lot of time at the gym” Exercise doesn’t have to be boring: I was out-of-my-mind bored
with my previous routine. The joy was gone. Rot was setting in. I was paying more attention to my play list than I was the actual workout. I realized Jogging for miles on the treadmill is NOT going to get you the result you expect. (You’ll probably just end up with aching joints and not much else).
• Doing isolated exercises like
•
bicep curls or lat raises isn’t going to burn fat and tone you up the way you think it will. (Moving one muscle at a time is a very inefficient way to workout). Doing sit-ups is NOT going to get you flat abs. (What sit-ups will do is mess up your back, so don’t waste your time).
So I came out with some new ways of getting fit. Initially I used this new process to train myself, but the results were impressive , so I started to use them with my clients. Some of my workouts go completely against the grain and aren’t anything like you see people doing at the gym, but the results will speak for themselves. My meth-
ods have worked so well for fatloss, muscle gains, improved cardiovascular health, and generally being a much fitter person. There’s very little machinery involved, most of it is low impact but high intensity stuff, with some lifting of free weights involved. But it works! It’s varied, interesting and definitely challenging, I rarely have music playing, my workouts need all of my concentration. Most of all it is sustainable for life, it can be adapted to suit all levels. AND MOST im-
portantly it’s quick, most sessions consist of a warm up, mobility, technique training- followed by an intense 20 min workout! Next month I am going to go into more details about the stuff I teach and practice. Giving you some tips and what exercises really get you fitter, what you can do to make you stronger and of course answering the big question, how to make the belly smaller. La sensación que tengo después de una buena sesión hace que fluyan mis endorfinas. Me encanta esa sensación, y me siento más en forma y más fuerte ahora que hace treinta años! Lo que he aprendido durante el paso de los años es que no todas las rutinas son iguales. Hace más de 15 años me di cuenta de que lo que estaba enseñando, el clásico 45 minutos de ejercicio cada día, 3-5 veces a la semana, en realidad no funciona. Sí, los resultados iniciales fueron excelentes, pero después de 6 meses mi progreso
y el de mis clientes se había estancado. De hecho, me sentí muy frustrada al pensar que estaba haciendo "todas las cosas correctas", pero algo no cuadraba. No era más delgada, más en forma o más fuerte. Quería saber, ¿por qué?
“La sabiduría convencional desperdicia mucho tiempo en el gimnasio” El ejercicio no tiene que ser aburrido: estaba aburrida de mi rutina. No me hacía feliz. Me estaba estancando. Estaba prestando más atención a mi lista de reproducción que a mi entrenamiento. Me di cuenta de que correr kilómetros en la cinta de correr NO te dará el resultado que esperas. (Probablemente termines con dolor en las articulaciones y poco más).

(Mover un músculo a la vez es una forma muy ineficiente de hacer ejercicio). Hacer abdominales NO te dará abdominales planos. (Lo que harán las sentadillas es romperte la espalda, así que no pierdas tu tiempo).
Así que busqué nuevos métodos para ponerme en forma. Inicialmente utilicé este nuevo proceso para entrenarme, pero los resultados fueron impresionantes, así que comencé a usarlo con mis clientes. Algunos de mis entrenamientos van completamente contra la corriente y no se parecen en nada a lo que se hace en el gimnasio, pero los resultados hablan por sí mismos. Mis métodos han funcionado muy bien para perder grasa, ganar músculo, mejorar la salud cardiovascular y, en general, estar mucho más en forma. Hay muy poca maquinaria involucrada, la mayoría es de bajo impacto pero de alta intensidad, con algo de levantamiento de pesas libres. ¡Pero funciona! Es variado, interesante y definitivamente desafiante, rara vez escucho música, mis entrenamientos ocupan toda mi concentración. Sobre todo es sostenible de por vida, se puede adaptar a todos los niveles. Y lo más importante, es rápido, la mayoría de las sesiones consisten en un entrenamiento de calentamiento, movilidad y técnica, ¡seguido de un intenso entrenamiento de 20 minutos! El mes que viene voy a entrar en más detalles sobre las cosas que enseño y practico. Dándote algunos consejos y enseñándote qué ejercicios realmente te ponen en forma, qué puedes hacer para fortalecerte y, por supuesto, respondiendo la gran pregunta, cómo perder la barriga. Leigh Baw was a member of our club from the sub-14 category, to sub-18 with two seasons being the top scorer in his category, later for studies he left for England where he played in: Bicton College (Exeter Chiefs Academy) (AASE) 2016 - 2017, Bridgewater College (2017 - 2018) Leigh played at centre and wing, but has now developed into a formidable front row player. Maxim who plays for Marbella Rugby Club, Andalucia and Spain U18’s, has also represented the Los Pirates Invitation Team in 15’s and Beach Rugby competitions. The owners of Rugby Tour Spain, Guy Leleu and Adrian Parsons have extensive first class experience as players and coaches playing rugby at the highest levels in many countries including the UK, France and Spain. Our local area boasts many rugby clubs who field teams at all levels and ages from Minis to Vets. All the clubs compete in the Andalusian provincial league and there are several 15s and 7s tournaments throughout the year. Andalucía is also home to a fast growing and hugely popular beach rugby circuit which is played from the end of July through to early September. The clubs based in these areas are all keen to host touring teams and offer great hospitality during the famous “tercer tiempo”.
