El alcalde destaca el impacto económico y la transformación que supondrá el “gran bulevar” El regidor invita a la oposición a sumarse a este proyecto, que supondrá una inversión privada de más de 30 millones de euros, y que tiene todas las garantías y formalidades legales
E
l alcalde de Estepona, José María García Urbano, ha destacado el impacto económico en el municipio y la transformación de la ciudad que supondrá la ejecución del proyecto del ‘gran bulevar’, que convertirá este espacio en un importante área de expansión comercial, turística y de ocio, en pleno corazón de Estepona, con una inversión privada de más de 30 millones de euros. Por ello, ha invitado a los partidos de la oposición a ayudar al Ayuntamiento y sumarse a este proyecto, que “tiene todas las garantías y formalidades legales”. El primer edil se ha referido a la “transparencia máxima” con la que se ha tramitado este expediente; de forma que la documentación sobre el proyecto ha permanecido durante meses en exposición pública, hasta en tres ocasiones, para ser consultada por cualquier interesado; se ha sometido a un periodo de presentación de alegaciones, sin que particulares o partidos políticos hayan presentado alguna; y se invitó a la oposición a participar en todo el procedimiento de contratación y adjudicación del proyecto, junto a los técnicos municipales, si bien, éstos declinaron dicho ofrecimiento. El ‘gran bulevar’ recuperará una zona ahora degradada de la ciudad y dará respuesta a una serie de reivindicaciones históricas que vienen realizando los ciudadanos de Estepona desde hace décadas como es la creación de una zona comercial abierta, de ocio -con seis salas de cine- y hotelera, con un establecimiento cinco estrellas, en pleno casco urbano, que situará a la ciudad a la vanguardia de la provincia en infraestructuras. Asimismo, contará con un edificio para la futura Casa Consistorial, de manera que todas las dependencias municipales se concentrarán en un único inmueble para facilitarle los trámites y gestiones a los ciudadanos. Terminada la construcción, se estima la creación de cerca de un millar de puestos de trabajo nuevos para la ciudad. “Es un proyecto que solo tiene bondades para Estepona, que convertirá la ciudad en un foco
de atracción turística y de generación de empleo”, ha agregado el alcalde. El sistema de concesión administrativa permitirá que la adjudicataria del proyecto, a cambio de un canon valorado y fijado por los servicios técnicos municipales y consistente en edificar el nuevo ayuntamiento y urbanizar todo el entorno de la zona del bulevar, construya y explote durante 75 años el hotel y el centro comercial y de ocio, los cuales revertirán al municipio de Estepona pasado dicho tiempo.

The Mayor also pointed out the open and transparent way with which the processing of this project had been carried out, with public consultation and opportunities provided for concerns and objections to be heard. The Grand Boulevard will revitalise an area of the town that has become somewhat neglected in recent years, and responds to demands from the local population for such facilities as an open shopping area, a multi-screen cinema, central 5-star hotel, etc., which will further cement Estepona’s position as one of southern Spain’s major tourist centres. In the near future the Grand Boulevard will also house the new Town Hall building with all the local government offices and departments housed under one roof. Once finished the Grand Boulevard is expected to generate almost one thousand jobs. “This is a project that can only benefit Estepona, in terms of job creation and adding to the town’s tourist image”, added the Mayor. The Grand Boulevard will be administered by private enterprise in exchange for an annual fee on a 75 year concession, after which period the rights revert back to the municipality of Estepona.

Las protestas continúan en contra de la construcción de gasolinera Continúan las Protestas contra la construcción de gasolinera en la zona de Huerta Nueva de Estepona, cerca de la antigua estación de bomberos y próxima a unas 500 viviendas residenciales, cuyos propietarios han protestado durante años para que paralizaran el proyecto. La propietaria, Patrimonial Almenara, decidió construir la gasolinera en 2005, cuando el entonces alcalde, Antonio
Barrientos, buscó un acuerdo para paralizar la construcción a cambio de la reestructuración del terrero para viviendas y uso comercial. Desde entonces no ha sido posible la recalificación, designada para uso industrial, y en 2013 las autoridades locales fueron forzadas a rescindir el acuerdo empezando los trabajos.

Protests continue against petrol station construction Works have resumed on the controversial petrol station being constructed in the Huerta Nueva area of Estepona, near the old fire station and in close proximity to the homes of over 500 residents who have been campaigning for years to put a stop in this project. The owner of the property, Patrimonial Almenara, decided to build the petrol station back in 2005, when the then Mayor, Antonio Barrientos sought a deal to halt the construction in exchange for redesignating the land for housing and commercial use. Since then it has not been possible to rezone the land, which is designated as for industrial use, and in 2013 the local authorities were forced to rescind the agreement and works began on the construction. The town hall offered the company to pay rent on the land, which would then be
used for sporting purposes, but this was declined.

Ciudadanos Comunitarios Nos comunican desde el Padrón de habitantes de Estepona que muchos ciudadanos no han aún renovado su situación de empadronados en el Municipio y por lo tanto corren el riesgo de ser borrados del registro de empadronamiento antes de final de este año 2013. Rogamos contacten con la oficina del padrón si no está seguro de seguir estándolo. Los controles se efectúan en función de la última información disponible en la base de datos del INE
(instituto de estadísticas) relativa a actualizaciones en el Padrón, así como, en su caso, de las posibles fechas de expedición o última renovación de las tarjetas de residencia1, de modo que únicamente se realizarán cuando no se hayan producido movimientos en un período de cinco o dos años, dependiendo si están inscritos en el Registro Central de Extranjeros o no (si tienen tarjeta de cualquier tipo también están inscritos en este Registro).

Cualquiera que haya pasado por la Avenida Litoral en Estepona recientemente, probablemente en cualquier visita a Carrefour, o en la entrada o salida de la ciudad no habrá podido perderse haber visto que algunas de las palmeras de la carretera han adquirido un colorido especial hecho de punto. Nunca he escuchado hablar de las grafiteras del hilo pero aparentemente la idea viene de Estados Unidos. Es una especie de grafiti utilizando lanas en lugar de pinturas para cubrir superficies públicas. Las tres palmeras en la foto han sido vestidas de color con la aprobación de las autoridades locales, y se debe al trabajo de dos mujeres locales, Pilar Marín y María José Reina, las cuales se han dedicado a decorar las palmeras con el punto y el crochet, y así ocupar su tiempo libre. Habiendo visto ejemplos de éstos en internet, decidieron prestar toda su atención a las palmeras de la Avenida Litoral, y a pesar de la oferta de ayuda y materiales por parte del ayuntamiento, decidieron hacerlo a su costa.
El resultado ha sido muy satisfactorio encontrando apoyo y ánimo para continuar por parte de los locales residentes y visitantes. En sus planes está continuar decorando más palmeras.
Yarn Bombing Estepona’s palm trees Anyone who has travelled up Estepona’s Avenida Litoral recently, maybe on a visit to Carrefour, or on their way in or out of town cannot have failed to notice that some of the palm trees lining the road have acquired some colourful knitwear. I’d never heard of ‘Yarn Bombing’ before but apparently it is yet another new fad imported from the US, a kind of benevolent graffiti, only in this case using knitted wool rather than paint to cover public surfaces. To be fair the three trees in the picture have been ‘bombed’ with the full approval of the local authorities, and is the work of
two local women, Pilar Marín y María José Reina, who took up knitting and crochet for something to occupy their time. Having seen examples of yarn bombing on the internet, they decided to turn their attention to the trees in Avenida Litoral, and despite offers of help and materials from the council they decided to do it off their own back. The result has been a massive approval from local residents and visitors and there are plans for more such installations in the near future.

XXIV ADANA Dog Show in May ADANA’s blue ribbon event, the annual dog show, is scheduled to take place on Sunday May 4th 2014 in the Palacio de Congresos in Estepona. Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the show has grown from strength to strength, attracting more and more participants and spectators. It is a great fun day out for all the family, and, even more importantly, an important fundraiser for ADANA with the potential to bring in more than 5,000 Euros for the care of abandoned dogs. This year’s show will include classes to test obedience and agility as well as the usual light-hearted beauty pageant. The highly popular classes to find Estepona’s hottest dogs and coolest canine chicas return
along with specialist classes for small and large pedigrees and Spanish breeds. As ever, the judges will be looking especially at ex ADANA dogs as well as older, beloved companions, all of whom could be worthy winners of the coveted Pippa Trophy. The show will, of course, have lots of stalls, offering a wide range of goodies for people and dogs: jewellery, gifts, accessories for canines and humans and much more. The Great British Café is back, run by Trisha and her volunteers, offering hot tea, bacon butties and mouth watering cakes and bikkies. And, after the success of the Christmas champagne bar, ADANA are introducing it to the dog show – should prove particularly popular with the winners!

La Junta afirma que no hay presupuesto para la carretera Manilva-Gaucín La Consejería de Fomento admite que el arreglo de la vía no cuenta actualmente con financiación. Su titular, Elena Cortés, en una reciente reunión con la Alcaldesa de Casares, explicaba que a corto plazo no hay actuaciones previstas para la A337 ya que el año pasado el presupuesto de carreteras se destinó principalmente para el pago de deudas y desbloquear las obras ya iniciadas. Junta declares there are no funds for Manilva-Gaucin road improvements The Regional Ministry for Economic Development has admitted there are no funds allocated for the A337 Manilva-Gaucin road. In a recent meeting with the Mayoress of Casares, the head of the Ministry, Elena Cortés, explained that there were no immediate plans for the road, as last year’s budget mostly

went for the payment of debts and to reactivate stalled projects already begun. The Minister has promised to meet with the group of municipalities campaigning for the refurbishment of the road and discuss a schedule of works. Mayoress, Antonia Morera,
explained that the Minister recognises the urgent need to repair the road, and the dangers the poor condition posed to road users. To this end the Ministry is studying options to improve the road that could fit in with the current budget constraints.

El Plan de Actuación de Casares Costa recibe el visto bueno de la asamblea ciudadana
El Equipo de Gobierno de Casares organizaba la pasada tarde en la Tenencia de la Costa un debate abierto al que han acudido unos 60 vecinos. Entre los asistentes, ha habido una mayor afluencia de residentes procedentes de otros países. Durante la reunión se han aclarado numerosas dudas y se han debatido varias propuestas para incluir en el documento. Entre ellas, la construcción de una guardería que dé servicio a las familias de la costa o adecentar la parcela
reservada a equipamiento escolar para propiciar el esparcimiento infantil. Las iniciativas del Ayuntamiento también han tenido una buena acogida por parte de la asamblea vecinal.Algunas de ellas son la finalización del paseo marítimo hasta el término municipal de Estepona, con la construcción de un puente peatonal sobre arroyo jordana. La reordenación y mejora de contenedores de basura. Ampliación de los Jardines del Rosario. La Reparación y adecuación de los acerados,
saneamiento y alumbrado público. O la finalización de viales pendientes y acondicionamiento de zonas verdes. El Plan de Actuación de Casares Costa es un documento sobre las acciones realizadas y proyectadas por el Ayuntamiento para la mejora de las urbanizaciones y playas de la costa. Tras este primer contacto se van a realizar nuevas rondas de debate para sacar una propuesta definitiva que se elevará a pleno para su consideración, aprobación y puesta en marcha.
El Banco de Alimentos de Casares “Desván Solidario” adquiere alimentos de primera necesidad para las familias con escasos recursos Los productos se han comprado en el supermercado Eroski de Sabinillas. Se han comprado productos básicos como azúcar, leche, aceite, tomate, atún, gel o champú. Para ello se ha utilizado parte del dinero recaudado con la venta de calendarios del cuerpo de bomberos, que asciende a unos 450 euros. La compra ha estado supervisada por la coordinadora del Banco Municipal de Alimentos, Paula López. También por la cabo de bomberos del retén de Manilva, Inmaculada González. Ambas han contado con la ayuda de un operario del Ayuntamiento de Casares para las labores de transporte y traslado del material adquirido. Casares Action Plan well received by local residents Some 60 local residents met with representatives from Casares Town Hall with a view to discussing the plan of action for the Casares Costa area. The majority of those attending were foreign residents for whom a number of queries were answered and a number of proposals were discussed for inclusion in the Action plan document, including the construction of a children's nursery and the cleaning up of the plot allocated for a new school to be used as a children's play area. The assembly also welcomed plans by the local government such as the completion of the promenade in the Estepona direction with the construction of the pedestrian bridge over the Arroyo Jordana, improvements to the refuse areas, enlargement of the Rosario Gardens and improvements to street lighting and utilities. Once a draft of the Action Plan document has been put together their will be further discussions before the final version is put into action.
Firefighters’ calendar raises fund for local Food Bank The Casares food bank has been swelled by the addition of various items paid for by funds raised from the sale of calendars featuring members of the local fire fighting services. A sum of 450 euros was raised which went towards the purchase of items such as sugar, milk, cooking oil, tomato, tuna, soap and shampoo. The purchases were supervised by the coordinator of the Municipal Food Bandk, Paula López, along with a member of Manilva’s retained firefighting team, Inmaculada González. The products were bought at the Eroski Supermarket at the Los Hildalgos Commercial Centre near Duquesa, Manilva, who were sponsors of the calendar, and who promised to provide a trolley of shopping worth 100 euros at the next purchase.

Un camino peatona unirá las urbanizaciones de la zona del cruce con Marina de Casares Los trabajos de conexión peatonal de la zona norte de Casares Costa se han iniciado entre los Jardines del Rosario y Majestic Ayer comenzó la ejecución de un nuevo proyecto de infraestructura en la zona de Casares Costa que supondrá la construcción de diversos caminos peatonales que unirán Marina de Casares con Bahía de Casares, en la zona del cruce, y los Jardines del Rosario con Majestic. Se trata de cerca de dos kilómetros de caminos asfaltados explica la concejal delegada de Casares Costa, Antonia Pineda, una infraestructura muy demandada por los vecinos de la zona y que les va a permitir trasladarse de una urbanización a otra a pie o en bicicleta, sin tener que coger el coche. El recorrido estará ejecutado en hormigón que será tratado con pintura acrílica, y tendrá una anchura de un metros en algunos tramos y dos en otros. Las obras han comenzado en el tramo que va desde los Jardines del Rosario
hasta la primera entrada a Majestic,. Un tramo de 460 metros lineales junto a la zona verde en la que el Ayuntamiento construye una pista polideportiva y un parque para perros. La obra tiene un presupuesto de 62.000 euros, está siendo realizadas por el Ayuntamiento de Casares con medio propios y en la misma trabajan operarios contratados a través de la Bolsa Municipal de Empleo. Finalizado este tramo se construirá la conexión de esta zona a Marina de Casares que incluye un tramos de 91 metros desde el acerado de la zona del cruce (junto a la tienda de muebles) hasta el arroyo de la Parrilla, otro de 650 metros lineales por la urbanización Arroyo Parrilla hasta el nuevo parque infantil, y un último tramo de 263 metros que discurre por Marina de Casares. Desde el Ayuntamiento se plantea una segunda fase para la mejora del firme y hormigonado del paseo que discurre paralelo por la carretera de Casares (MA-8300), desde la primera entrada a Majestic, donde quedará la fase que se ejecuta actualmente, hasta la urbanización Casares del Sol.
New footpath to connect Majestic and Marina de Casares A new pedestrian walkway that will link urbanisations on the northside with Casares Costa is to be built. The two miles of paved walkway will connect Marina de Casares with Bahia de Casares, Jardines del Rosario and the Majestic urbanisation. The aim is to give residents in the area the ability to walk between the developments without having to use a car. The new walkway will be
one metre wide in some sections and two metres wide in others. It will be constructed of concrete with an acrylic paint covering and the works will cost 60,000 Euro which is being funded by the ayuntamiento. The project will also help take several people off the unemployment register and it should take about two months to complete.

Walking Festival in Casares 12 and 13 April Casares are organising a Walking Festival over the weekend of the 12 and 13th April. El Ayuntamiento, en un hito histórico, paga seis millones y medio de euros a la Seguridad Social
Town Hall pays six and a half million euros to the Treasury
A través de una gestión sin precedentes y como un hito histórico, el Ayuntamiento de Manilva, a través de su alcaldesa, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez y la concejalía de Hacienda, a cargo de Marcos Ruiz, ha realizado una transferencia de seis millones trescientos cuarenta y siete mil cero ochenta y seis con ochenta céntimos, más de mil millones de las antiguas pesetas, a la Unidad de Recaudación Ejecutiva de la Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social. Cabe recordar que la primera edil manilveña y el edil de Hacienda mantuvieron reuniones en Málaga, Sevilla y Madrid con Hacienda y la Seguridad Social para buscar los mecanismos necesarios y flexibles para poder afrontar la nueva situación del Ayuntamiento de Manilva. Acuerdo este que concedieron y firmaron los órganos supramunicipales por la seriedad y la rigurosidad expuesta por los citados responsables municipales. La deuda total del Consistorio es de 42 millones de euros incluidas las ya disueltas sociedades municipales. Con el acuerdo adoptado ya se ha pagado seis millones y medio de euros, y el resto se hará de forma fraccionada en diez años, destacando que esto no supondrá endeudar más al Ayuntamiento ya que se ha pagado con recursos propios sin solicitar ningún tipo de préstamo. El esfuerzo y el trabajo constante desde la alcaldía y hacienda ha posibilitado que
In an unprecedented move, the Manilva Town Hall, through the actions of the Mayoress Antonia Muñoz, and the Councillor for Finance, Marcos Ruiz, has transferred the sum of 6,347,080 euros to the Spanish treasury in respect of social security payments. This follows a series of meetings in Malaga, Seville and Madrid in which a mechanism was sought to create a workable and flexible solution to address this historic debt which totals some 42 million euros and relates to debts dating back to 1983 including that amassed by various, now dissolved municipal companies. The arrangement that has been reached with the treasury involves this initial payment of 6,347,080 euros followed by a series of payments over the next ten years, providing the local government pays its way and doesn’t increase the debt. This agreement provides a solid foundation on which the municipal finances and local economy can be built. It has also allowed access to state funds and subsidies which will result in a better level of service for the local population. Antonia Muñoz has expressed her “immense satisfaction at this unparalleled achievement in this payment, which is a result of all the hard work and austerity measures introduced in recent years which has allowed the municipality to remain solvent and now provides for a bright future for the people of Manilva”. For his part the Councillor Marcos Ruiz commented “the months of continuous meetings and hard work have paid off with this agreement. We will continue to work hard and make sacrifices, because on this the future of Manilva depends”.

EL CONSEJO DE LA GEUMA APRUEBA ASUNTOS RELEVANTES PARA EL MUNICIPIO El Consejo de la Geuma en su última reunión ha tratado varios puntos de interés para el municipio. Se han aprobado licencias urbanísticas y se han debatido temas referente a disciplina, planeamiento y gestión urbanística. A dicho Consejo asistieron la alcaldesa de Manilva, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez, el concejal de Urbanismo, Diego Urieta y el de Infraestructura y Obras, Mario Jiménez, además del primer teniente de alcalde, Emilio López Berenguer. Por parte de la oposición, estuvieron presentes Manuel Gil por parte del PSOE y José Miguel Ahumada del Partido Popular. El Secretario municipal, Joaquín de Salas y el Gerente de Urbanismo, Ildefonso Narváez completaron la mesa. Uno de los puntos aprobados por unanimidad de los presentes ha sido el proyecto de ampliación de vial en el Sector del Peñoncillo. Por lo tanto se concede licencia para ampliar las instalaciones del Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria Las Viñas construyendo aulario. También se aprobó el proyecto de remodelación de los aparcamientos en la urbanización Playa Paraíso, que tiene por objeto definir los trabajos de acondicionamiento y de regulación de la zona. En cuanto a la mejora de las
infraestructuras municipales, el vial del Peñoncillo ampliará sus carreteras de dos a cuatro, por lo que mejorará el tránsito por otras de las vías de salida y entrada a Manilva. Según manifestó Diego Urieta: “los asuntos tratados serán muy beneficiosos para el municipio, ya que hablamos de ampliar el Instituto Las Viñas de Manilva, con lo que eso repercutirá en mejorar la calidad de las infraestructuras y por lo
tanto, facilitar la labor docente. Por otra parte, también seguimos facilitando a los vecinos la posibilidad de regular sus viviendas.” En definitiva, continuó en sus declaraciones el edil: “se trata de crear las bases sólidas, con una política de transparencia y compromiso, para que el municipio de Manilva tenga unas miras de futuro halagüeñas”, finalizó.
Con el nuevo tramo de paseo de la Colonia se mejorará el parque Recientamente ha visitado el parque infantil de la colonia, la alcaldesa de Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, acompañada del delegado de Parques y Jardines, Antonio Parra. El motivo de esta visita no era otro, que el comienzo de los trabajos de remodelación de esta zona infantil, que tendrá que ser retranqueada debido a las obras que se realizan en el nuevo tramo de Paseo marítimo. Gracias a estas labores que tendrán una duración aproximada de entre un mes y mes y medio, esta zona de ocio presentará un aspecto totalmente novedoso, con un vallado de protección que seguirá la línea estética del paseo marítimo, arboles nuevos, bancos, etc... Además, todos los juegos infantiles serán restaurados por una empresa especializada antes de ser colocados de nuevo. La zona Biosaludable, será eliminada momentáneamente, para ser colocada en un futuro en el propio paseo marítimo. Los citados responsables municipales han querido pedir disculpas a los vecinos que puedan verse afectados por estos trabajos.

This will improve traffic flow on this alternative route to and from Manilva and was passed unanimously by the panel. Also a license has been granted for the expansion of facilities at the IES Las Viñas secondary school including the building of additional classrooms. A remodelling project at Playa Paraiso will
provide for more parking in that area. According to Diego Urieta “these matters are of importance to the town, with the school expansion improving the infrastructure and facilitating a better educational environment for local children. We are also working to allow local residents to formalise the status of their properties”. “In short” he continued “ this is creating the solid foundation, with a policy of transparency and commitment which will provide Manilva with a bright future”.
Improvements to la Colonia park in Sabinillas The Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, accompanied by the councillor for Parks and Gardens, Antonia Parra, recently visited the childrens’s park at the La Colonia end of Sabinillas. The reason for the visit was to see the commencement of works for the remodelling of the park, which is being carried out in conjunction with the promenade extension which has led to alterations to the layout of the park. The park will have a new look, with protective fencing, new trees and benches. The play equipment is being totally renovated by a specialist company, before being reinstalled in some six weeks time. The exercise equipment has been removed and will be relocated to a dedicated area on the new section of Paseo Maritimo. The local authorities apologise for any inconvenience during these works,.

El ayuntamiento refuerza a Manilva Town Hall reinforces Manilva como pueblo blanco Andaluz as a Pueblo Blanco Manilva contará en breve con un nuevo rincón con encanto dentro del término municipal. Según informó el edil de infraestructura y obras, Mario Jiménez, el objetivo del equipo de gobierno es dotar a Manilva de rincones que refuercen la idiosincrasia del núcleo como pueblo blanco andaluz. Por ello, se ha creado un pasaje entre las calles Iglesia y Muro Aguilar, que estará concluido y abierto al público en una semana aproximadamente. Se trata de una zona a la que se ha dotado de solería de chino lavado, enmarcado con tira de mármol amarillo. En este lugar se ha colocado nuevo alumbrado, un área de descanso y se ha embellecido con plantas ornamentales, entre ellas un olivo de gran porte. Además, este nuevo pasaje contará con una escultura alegórica a la música. Según Jiménez, ya son varios los pasajes y rincones singulares que se han creado en este núcleo urbano y que están dando al municipio zonas donde vecinos y visitantes pueden sentir esa imagen de antaño que Manilva nunca debe perder y con la que tanto se identifica.

The aim, according to the Mayor, Antonia Muñoz, and the councillor for public works, Mario Jimenez, is to create these charming and practical locations that reinforce the town’s image as a typical Andalucian Pueblo Blanco. The passage has a traditional style surface known as Chinese laundry, with small stones set into a concrete base, with a yellow marble framing. There is new lighting and benches, and it is embellished with ornamental plants and an olive tree. There will also be a sculpture on the theme of music. This passage joins a number of similar places that have been created in the town of Manilva providing visitors and residents with an image of the past with which the people identify.
Nuevo carril bici y zona de esparcimiento para los vecinos El primer tramo del mismo está prácticamente ejecutado y discurre desde la rotonda de Mercadona a la Urbanización Pueblo Mexicano. La delegación municipal de parques y jardines del Ayuntamiento de Manilva, está trabajando intensamente en una nueva zona de ocio y esparcimiento para los vecinos de la localidad. En esta ocasión se trata de un área de 10.000 metros cuadrados, que ya es de titularidad municipal, que servirá para el paseo de las familias y donde se construirá un carril bici para los cada vez más aficionados a este deporte. El primer tramo del mismo estáprácticamente ejecutado y discurre desde la rotonda de Mercadona a la Urbanización Pueblo Mexicano. El segundo tramo partirá desde este último punto y llegará a Villa Matilde. El recorrido tendrá un suelo firme de hormigón impreso en color rojo y estará perfectamente señalizado. Se trata de un recorrido en medio de un entorno verde, con baja dificultad y acceso para todas las personas, ya que no presenta pendientes. El tramo desembocará en una zona de descanso en el área de Maicandil, con canasta de baloncesto, un pequeño mirador y un parque biosaludable. Con este tipo de zonas se consigue

Esto no quiere decir, según Ruiz, que haya que estar sujeto a las condiciones de Cajasur, ya que la financiación puede ser con cualquier otra entidad elegida por el comprador.

La Policía local investiga nuevos vertidos ilegales en el polígono La Policía Local está investigando un nuevo vertido ilegal en el Polígono. Los autores de este hecho contra la salud pública, el medio ambiente y la imagen del municipio quedarán denunciados y sancionados. Cabe recordar que ya han sido denunciadas catorce personas del municipio por irregularidades de vertidos. Por ello, la delegación de Medio Ambiente y Limpieza hace un explícito reconocimiento a la labor de los agentes de la Policía Local por las tareas que están llevando a cabo en materia de prevención, vigilancia y sanción de las infracciones que se cometan en este sentido. Te recordamos que como ciudadano de Manilva has de empadronarte en la ciudad en que vives o trabajas, así como comunicar los cambios de domicilio que lleves a cabo. El Ayuntamiento de Manilva ha iniciado una campaña informativa para que los ciudadanos se empadronen en el municipio, lo que les reportará “importantes beneficios”, según el concejal de Estadísticas, Marcos Ruiz. El edil recordó que los ciudadanos que se empadronen en el municipio podrán optar a ayudas en impuestos públicos como el IBI, así como inscribirse en cursos, talleres y actividades municipales. También podrán matricular a sus hijos en los colegios públicos, obtener certificados de residencia, seguridad social o ayudas económicas y sociales. Estar empadronado también da derecho a votar en periodos electorales, optar a ayudas por desempleo, darse de alta como autónomo o formalizar matrimonios civiles. Además, tienes que recordar que en función de los que estemos empadronados, así recibiremos recursos económicos de Diputación y del Estado. Tu presencia sí es importante para todos; de ello dependen nuestras escuelas, centros de salud, carreteras, hospitales, juzgados, y un largo etc. Los interesados en darse de alta en el Padrón Municipal deberán dirigirse a las oficinas situadas en el Ayuntamiento de Manilva o en la Tenencia de Alcaldía de Sabinillas. Según los últimos datos municipales, de los 14.800 habitantes de Manilva, algo más de 6.700 son extranjeros, de los que casi 3.000 son británicos. Padron registration campaign The Manilva Town Hall would like to remind residents that they are required to register on the Padron of the municipality in which they reside, and to report any change of address. To this end the Councillor for Statistics, Marcos Ruiz, has initiated an information campaign not only to stress your responsibilities but also the significant benefits or registration. These benefits include discounts for IBI, as well as elegibility for local classes, workshops and other municipal activities. Registrations allows residents to enroll their children in local schols, obtain certificates of residence, social security and social or economic aid. Being registered also entitles you to vote in local and European elections, obtain unemployment benefits, register as self-employed or get married. La Alcaldesa y la Policía Local planifican las próximas fechas La Semana Santa es la previa a los meses de verano y ya el municipio aumenta su población tanto por la festividad en sí como por el turismo de sol y playa. La Alcaldesa incidió en tres puntos claves, que no son otros que la seguridad ciudadana, una campaña rigurosa y estricta con respecto al cumplimiento de las normativas de los animales y en cuanto a limpieza, la higiene, el control y la responsabilidad al depositar la basura en los contenedores y hacer uso de ellos. Se trata, según trasladaba la alcaldesa a la Policía Local, de concienciar por una parte a la población para que estas campañas tengan éxito y redunden en el bien común, y por supuesto, ser rigurosos con la normativa y tener un control exhaustivo de todo lo que puede perjudicar a la población. Se hizo un balance general, pero las próximas fechas serán las que ocupen el protagonismo. La Semana Santa es la previa a los meses de verano y ya el municipio aumenta su población tanto por la festividad en si como por el turismo de sol y playa. Aunque se sentaron las bases para afrontar el verano con garantías de atender al ciudadano y velar por su calidad de vida,
una vez pasada la Semana Santa, habrá más reuniones entre la alcaldesa y la Policía Local para realizar una planificación más milimétrica y que todo esté en perfectas condiciones en materia de seguridad para afrontar un verano repleto de actividades
y actos que requerirán un trabajo serio y organizado. Antonia Muñoz agradeció a todos los agentes y a su Jefe la buena imagen que mantiene el término municipal gracias a su esfuerzo, constancia y dedicación.
El Ayuntamiento facilita los entrenamientos a moto Club Manilva La primera edil manifestó su satisfacción por poder contribuir a que estos jóvenes puedan practicar su deporte favorito y tener un lugar para entrenar La alcaldesa de Manilva, en representación del Ayuntamiento y Javier López, como presidente de Moto Club Manilva, han firmado un convenio para que dicha asociación deportiva pueda utilizar el recinto ferial. Con la puesta en marcha de este nuevo club con el objetivo de fomentar las diferentes disciplinas del deporte del motor en especial la de Motociclismo y con motivo de la inclusión de algunos de sus pilotos en el próximo campeonato de Andalucía de Motociclismo y la necesidad de entrenar para la competición, solicitaban al Consistorio un lugar para los entrenamientos. Antonia Muñoz, que estuvo acompañada por el concejal de Deportes, Mario Jiménez, como viene siendo habitual con todas las asociaciones locales, tendió la mano a estos jóvenes y durante dos días a la semana tendrán cedida la zona de aparcamientos asfaltada del Recinto Ferial para sus entrenamientos. Esta cesión lleva adjuntada la responsabilidad derivada de la ocupación y uso de las instalaciones, corriendo la asociación con los gastos de conservación, mantenimiento y utilización del inmueble.
Además, se mirará por el bien general y no habrá ningún tipo de molestias a la vecindad ni utilización del alumbrado público al ser los entrenamientos en plena luz del día.

The Mayoress and Local Police plan ahead The Mayoress of Manilva has held a meeting with the local police to discuss the policing and security for upcoming events including the Semana Santa processions and subsequent summer events and activities. Antonia Muñoz met with Local Police Chief, Francisco Luque, and a number of officers to discuss the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment for both residents and visitors. The Mayoress declared that the three priorities were public safety; a campaign to enforce the regulations concerning animals and their owners; and the control of rubbish disposal. According to the Mayoress it is important that on the one hand the police raise awareness of the laws through information campaigns, etc., but also are strict in applying the laws where required for the good of the population as a whole. Further meetings have been scheduled for the summer once Easter is out of the way, during which more specific plans can be drawn up for the summer’s programme of events. Antonia Muñoz thanked all those present for the good Manilva’s good image thanks to the efforts and dedication.
Agreement signed to let Manilva Motorcycle Club to use fairground The mayoress declared her pleasure at being able to enable these young riders to practise their chosen sport, train and improve so that they can compete successfully. The Mayoress of Manilva representing the town hall and Javier Lopez, President of the Manilva Motorcycle Club, have signed an agreement allowing the club use of the fairground for practice. This new club promotes a number of motorcyle sporting disciplines and has some of its riders entered in the Andalucia Motorcycling Championships and require a practice track. Antonio Muñoz, who was accompanied by Sports Councillor, Mario Jimenez, continued the council’s policy of providing assistance to local associations and has allowed the club to use the fairground two days a week for its activities. Turismo organiza un concurso de fotografía Habrá tres premios para las mejores fotografías. Un primer premio dotado con 200 € más placa, un segundo de 150 € más placa y el tercero al que se le otorgará 100 € más placa. La Delegación municipal de Turismo a través de su responsable, Emilio López, ha convocado un concurso de fotografía para premiar las imágenes que mejor reflejen la esencia del término municipal de Manilva. En esta actividad podrán participar todas las personas mayores de 18 años, de cualquier nacionalidad y país de residencia. Entrarán en concurso las fotografías recibidas entre el 1 de abril y el 30 de septiembre de 2014 ambos inclusive. La Delegación de Turismo se reserva el derecho a suspender, aplazar o cancelar el concurso, en cualquier momento anterior a su finalización, siempre que existan causas que así lo justifiquen, asimismo podrá ampliar y reducir el plazo si así lo considera oportuno. Las fotografías tendrán que ser entregadas en dos formatos: formato digital y papel. Las obras no podrán ir protegidas con cristal. Los interesados en el concurso deberán entregar las fotografías, que serán un máximo de tres, en la Delegación de Turismo, situada en el edificio Mikonos, en el Puerto de la Duquesa. Las fotografías deben ser originales, no presentadas en concursos anteriores y no editadas con ordenador. Los participantes

Entries must reflect beautiful images of Manilva. Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of all the terms and conditions below and in particular the authorization by the photographers to publish their work on the Manilva town hall’s website, tourism website and any promotional activities the department organises, as well as the transfer of publishing rights. The competition is open to all people over 18, of any nationality and country of residence. Only photographs received between April 1 and September 30, 2014 inclusive will be entered in the contest. Photographs may be submitted in both digital and paper format. Photos submitted on paper will require a minimum size of 15 x
21 cm, with no maximum limit. Photographs submitted in digital format must have a minimum of 1,600 X 1,200 pixels. Both color and black and white photos will be accepted. The pieces may not be protected with glass. Those interested in the competition can submit up to three photographs at the Tourism office located in Puerto de la Duquesa where the forms must be submitted. Photos must be original, unedited and not submitted in any previous contest. They must also specify the location which must be within the municipality of Manilva. The jury will be appointed by the department of tourism and the result of the contest will be announced before the end of October 2014, and will be final. All works will be exhibited to the public on the same day they are judged.

Manilva contará con su propia subestación eléctrica Desde hace más de un año, la delegación de urbanismo a través de la GEUMA, trabaja junto a Endesa y diversas promotoras con intereses en el municipio, para tratar de llevar a cabo una obra tan importante como la construcción de una subestación eléctrica, que dote al municipio de suficiente solvencia energética, con el fin de que nuestra localidad, que a día de hoy se surte de la Subestación de Casares, no tenga déficit en esta materia. El edil responsable, Diego Urieta, ha comunicado que después de múltiples e intensas reuniones se ha conseguido que Endesa Distribución Eléctrica S.L.U, tramite una innovación para la construcción de esta instalación en la Zona de Alcorrín (Camino de Martagina). Esta obra tendrá un presupuesto de ejecución material de 4.145.292,01 €. Precisamente, el mes pasado el consejo de la GEUMA dio el visto bueno a la continuación de la tramitación que posibilite finalmente que la localidad pueda contar con una Subestación que garantice un servicio acorde al crecimiento que ha experimentado Manilva en los últimos años y que absorba el futuro crecimiento. También se trató en el último encuentro, como indicó Urieta, las obligaciones de
la empresa para con el Ayuntamiento en aspectos relativos a tasas, impuesto de construcciones, garantías de incumplimiento e infracciones y prestación compensatoria.
Para la alcaldesa de Manilva, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez, es un paso importantísimo de cara a ofrecer mejor servicio a la ciudadanía y que no tengamos que depender de otras poblaciones.
Cultura te lleva a la Semana Santa de Málaga El programa de actividades de la Delegación de Cultura, previstas para la Semana Santa, incluye una excursión a Málaga para el lunes día 14 de abril para ver los Pasos Procesionales de la capital. De este modo, todo aquella persona que lo desee, podrá recorrer las calles malagueñas para seguir en directo a los titulares de las distintas Cofradías Malagueñas. Muchas son las Hermandades que se dan cita el Lunes Santo Malagueño; Entre ellas podemos destacar las Cofradías de La Crucifixión y María Santísima en su Soledad, la Cofradía de Ntro. Padre Jesús de la Columna y María Santísima de la O, conocida popularmente como “Los Gitanos” o El Santísimo Cristo del Perdón y Ntra. Señora de los Dolores, conocida por todos los malagueños, como “Los Dolores del Puente”; Estas procesiones se complementan con la Cofradía de “La Pasión”, con la del Cristo Coronado de Espinas y Ntra. Señora de Gracia y Esperanza “Estudiantes” y como no, el más venerado y querido del Lunes de pasión, Ntro. Padre Jesús Cautivo, que junto a María Santísima de la Trinidad, harán un largo recorrido para bendecir todos los rincones malagueños. La citada delegación, dirigida por Eva
Galindo, como ya viene siendo habitual, fletará un autobús para visitar y disfrutar de la Semana Santa Malagueña. La expedición saldrá a las 18:00 horas desde la redonda de entrada a Manilva, y recogerá a continuación a los vecinos de Sabinillas en la parada de Supersol, para dirigirse a la capital malagueña. El regreso será a las 1:00 h desde el lugar
que se indique. El precio es de 7 euros por persona. Para realizar la reserva es necesario dirigirse a la Delegación de Cultura de Manilva, sita en Plaza Martín Carpena s/n o a la Delegación de Fiestas, sita en el Edificio de Usos Múltiples de Sabinillas. Para reservar la plaza es necesario abonar la cantidad anteriormente indicada.

Trip to the Semana Santa processions in Malaga Manilva’s Culture Department are organising a trip to Malaga on Monday, 14 April, to witness some of the city’s spectacular Easter processions. On the Monday there are a number of processions by various brotherhoods such as those by Cofradías de La Crucifixión y María Santísima en su Soledad, la Cofradía de Ntro. Padre Jesús de la Columna y María Santísima de la O, popularly know as the “Los Gitanos” o El Santísimo Cristo del Perdón y Ntra. Señora de los Dolores, known by the people of Malaga as “Los Dolores del Puente”. These processions are complemented by the Cofradía de “La Pasión”, con la del Cristo Coronado de Espinas y Ntra. Señora de Gracia y Esperanza “Estudiantes” and one of the largest and most emblematic processions the Ntro. Padre Jesús Cautivo, que junto a María Santísima de la Trinidad which visits all corners of the City. The coach leaves at 6 pm from the roundabout at the entrance to Manilva town, picking up from the bus stop opposite the petrol station in Sabinillas. The coach returns at around 1 am. Tickets are just 7 euros and are available from the Culture Department in Plaza Martin Carpena, next to the football ground in Manilva, or from the Fiestas Department in the Edificio Usos Multiples in Sabinillas.

Por tanto, es posible presentar demanda de divorcio en España si es nuestro país la residencia habitual de los cónyuges, si en España está
COSTS AND IMPLICATIONS OF A DIVORCE IN SPAIN WHEN MARRIED ABROAD el último lugar de residencia de los cónyuges, si es España donde vive el demandado, o si es España el lugar de residencia habitual del cónyuge que pide el divorcio o demandante. En cuanto al proceso existen dos formas de llevar a cabo un proceso de divorcio: MUTUO ACUERDO o CONTENCIOSO. Hablamos que un divorcio es de MUTUO ACUERDO cuando ambas partes están de acuerdo en divorciarse de forma amistosa. Para ello, hay que establecer un convenio regulador en el que se especifiquen las consecuencias del divorcio, estos es: reparto de bienes, relaciones para con los hijos, etc. Para iniciar el proceso de divorcio de común acuerdo, es necesario presentar la demanda de divorcio, acompa-
ñada por el certificado de inscripción del matrimonio, el convenio regulador que regirá el mismo así como las certificaciones literales de nacimiento de los hijos, en el caso que los hubiera. Por el contrario, hablamos que un divorcio en CONTENCIOSO cuando uno de los cónyuges solicita el divorcio sin el consentimiento del otro o cuando entre ambos no se ha llegado a un acuerdo previo. En este caso los cónyuges, al no estar de acuerdo en divorciarse, no acompañan convenio regulador junto con la demanda por lo que será el juez quien determine los detalles y la situación en la que quedará cada cónyuge en relación al reparto de bienes, obligaciones para con los hijos, pensiones compensatorias, etc.. Cabe decir que siempre que sea posible, se aconseja divorciarse mediante el proceso de común acuerdo frente al divorcio contencioso, al tratarse éste de un proceso mucho más largo, complicado y costoso para ambas partes. Sea cual fuere el caso, recomendamos a todas aquellas personas que estén pensando en divorciarse que contacten con un Abogado, éste les ayudará y asesorará durante todo el proceso a fin de poder llegar a un acuerdo que satisfaga los intereses del demandante. Can I get divorced in Spain if married abroad? This is the first question that a person living in Spain may ask when wishing to get a divorce form a marriage in another country. In Spanish law, regulation 2201/2003 governing enforcements in matters relating to divorce, states that a person seeking divorce may do so in the place that suits their interests. Therefore, if you wish to get a divorce in Spain the demand should be presented at the courts in one of the following locations:1. The common habitual residence of the spouses, when one of said spouses is still resident. 2. The habitual residence of the defendant spouse. 3. In the case of a joint application the demand should be presented to the court situated in the location of the habitual residence of the applicants, where they have been residing for a minimum of one year before filing for the divorce. 4. The habitual residence of one spouse. 5. The place of the common nationality of both spouses. 6. Therefore, it is possible to file for a divorce in Spain if it is the country of habitual residence of both or either of the spouses. There are two ways of carrying out a divorce:- By MUTUAL AGREEMENT or through a CONTESTED DIVORCE Firstly, in the case of DIVORCE BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT, whereby both parties agree to divorce amicably, a regulatory divorce agreement must be established in which the consequences of the divorce must be stipulated i.e. division of assets, maintenance payments, custody / visiting rights for children, etc. To start the process of an uncontested divorce the spouses would need to submit the application for a divorce, accompanied by the Marriage Certificate, a divorce agreement document, and if applicable, together with certified copies of the spouse’s children’s birth certificates. Secondly, in the case of CONTESTED DIVORCE, whereby one spouse requests a divorce without the agreement of the other party, or when the spouses cannot agree on the terms of the divorce and when no divorce agreement document has been prepared then a judge would be required to determine the conditions of the divorce agreement. The Judge would establish the division of assets, the amounts of maintenance payments, and in cases where children are involved, each spouse’s obligations and rights regarding them. This would result in a much longer, more complicated and more expensive procedure. In all situations where a person is contemplating divorce it is advisable from the beginning to contact a solicitor who would be able to assist, help and guide the claimant through the whole process ensuring that their interests are protected and that they achieve an appropriate settlement. Foreign residents driving in Spain must renew their licenses or exchange them for a Spanish license. At Sabimedic we are currently conducting a campaign to provide information regarding the laws on driving in Spain on a foreign driving license to prevent foreign residents inadvertently committing an offense through ignorance of these regulations. Foreigners who are resident in Spain, can use a driver’s license from their country of origin during the first 6 months from the time of residency being granted. At the end of this period you must obtain a Spanish driver’s license. Certain countries have a reciprocal agreement with Spain whereby licenses can be exchanged without the necessity to take a Spanish driving test. These countries include: • European Union members and those
making up the European Economic Zone - Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. • Certain non-EU members including Andorra, Japan, and Switzerland. Duquesa Charitable Society of St. George goes from strength to strength It has been a couple of months since The Duquesa Charitable Society of St George opened its charity shop in Sabinillas and things have gone from strength to strength thanks to the hard work of Carol and her team of volunteers. The shop, which is situated in Calle Duquesa de Arcos, stocks a wide range of quality second hand items including clothes, shoes, accessories, books, small household items, etc. The shop is managed and staffed by unpaid volunteers with all the income from the shop going to support good causes in the local community. The shop is open from 10 am to 1.30 pm Monday to Saturday with plans to expand the opening hours in the near future. The Duquesa Charitable Society of St George is also about to launch its collection tin campaign with the charity’s tins going into local shops, bars, restaurants,

Jornada sobre una visión práctica del Seminar on a practical vision of Horizontal Derecho de Propiedad Horizontal en el Property Rights in the Palacio de Congresos, Estepona Palacio de Congresos, Estepona El pasado día jueves 13 de Marzo de 2014, tuvo lugar en el Palacio de Congresos de Estepona, una jornada sobre una visión práctica del Derecho de Propiedad Horizontal, organizado por el Colegio de Abogados de Málaga, a través de su delegación de Estepona. Los ponentes de la charla fueron, el Abogado de Ammex y Legal Service, D Ildefonso Ortega Moreno, el Juez del juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción nº 2 de Estepona, D Nimrod Pijpe Molinero, y el Secretario Judicial del Juzgado de Primera Instancia e
Instrucción nº 5 de Estepona, D Antonio Sáenz Morejón, ofreciendo una visión práctica de la problemática presentada en los Juzgados, a la hora de reclamar judicialmente deuda a morosos, así como el reconocimiento de créditos preferentes frente a los Bancos. La Jornada, convocada a penas con una semana de antelación, fue un rotundo éxito, al asistir a la misma más de 60 abogados, jueces y profesionales del derecho, que estuvieron intercambiando sus conocimientos sobre la materia.

who spoke of the practical issues presented in the Courts when pursuing long term debt and the recognition of preferential claims against the banks. The seminar, convened in the space of barely a week, was a resounding success with more than 60 lawyers, judges and legal professionals in attendance and sharing their knowledge and experience on the topic.

Age Concern
Estepona and Manilva Talk by the Police The National Police have been in contact with Age Concern about the need for older people to guard against falling victim to crime. In view of this a talk in English by the police has been arranged for Tuesday 29th April starting at 11 am in the Age Concern Drop-In-Centre which is situated in Calle Zaragoza, Estepona. It will focus on the simple steps that people can take to protect themselves against crime. This is a very timely talk as the summer
season draws closer with more people in the towns and countryside. Many of us have been the victims of crime which could have been avoided if the person had been vigilant. Tony Aldous, Age Concern’s Press Officer, says that he remembers the times that he would never be caught out – but he was and regretted ever since not listening to those much wiser than him. Spain celebrates Easter with its spectacular Semana Santa processions This month sees Spain celebrate its most religious festival with the Semana Santa (Holy Week) Easter processions. The processions portray various acts from the arrest, crucifixion and resurrection with the 'Tronos' borne by teams of costaleros, literally 'sack men' who form part of the hermandades and cofradias, religious brotherhoods (and sisterhoods). Other members of the procession dress up in penitential robes with their distinctive 'capirotes' the tall conical hats and may often walk the streets barefoot or blindfolded. A brass band accompanies the procession, playing traditional religious hymns or 'marchas' written for the occasion. These Holy Week procession begin or
Palm Sunday and continue until Easter Sunday with the most dramatic being on Good Friday. Malaga has some of the biggest processions, but locally if you only get the chance to see one procession you should head to San Roque for their Good Friday 'Gran Magna' procession in which 14 individual Tronos are paraded through the streets, each with its attendant band and entourage. Many of the San Roque tronos date back to the 17th and 18th century and date back to when San Roque was founded by the Spanish former inhabitants of Gibraltar. Estepona Floral Art Club will be holding next month’s flower arranging demonstration on Tuesday 20th May from 3.15pm to 5.30pm at Tikitano Beach and Restaurant, Estepona, where there is plenty of parking. Back by popular demand, the demonstrator will be Dulcie Lofting, NAFAS Area Demonstrator from Norfolk. This will be an enjoyable, sociable event for anyone who is interested in flowers and art, and visitors are welcome to join the Club members for lunch at Tikitano’s, before the demonstration. If you want to have lunch beforehand, please call Tikitano’s directly on 952 79 84 49 to make your lunch reservation, and state that you are attending the flower club’s demonstration so that the special Club lunch menu will be made available to you. Making sense of your Internet Television options A plain English guide by local company Webease

thebistro So three months after the naysayers lampooned us with names such as scaremongerers and opportunists it finally happened. Astra 2E was moved into place in February of this year and the vast majority of us lost access to our Free-to-Air TV channels via sky before the end of the month. If you, like many people, have been canny and not run into a solution too quickly now is a great time to look at all of the options, weigh them up and decide which suits your technical knowhow, your pocket and your comfort zone. Currently and for reasons I will go on to explain a subscription free IPTV service such as provided by Webease is the best value option for secure provision of TV, sports and movies but before we conclude let’s have a look at our options. As we had been explaining all along this has left people with a number of options and like any market place we suggest that you, the consumer, select the solution which suits your preferences, style and budget.
So what are the options? Well at the time of writing many Sky channels are still available on Sky HD although this does not include the UK terrestrial channels such as BBC and ITV. This of course will require a Sky HD subscription which usually requires a UK address etc. and will cost approximately 40 euros per month depending on the package. If you have the monthly budget and require the HD quality for all of your TV streaming this may be your option but remember Sky do not have a broadcast licence for Spain and are currently still involved in legal battles regarding broadcasting here. As such even though you pretend to be in the UK you may still find that the HD channels are moved and you will lose this service too. Only time will tell. Then there are the solutions which are all various versions of people advising you that they can reconnect your sky either via re broadcasting sky’s signal to your existing dish or putting in special
code. In my recommendation regarding all of these solutions is to steer well away from them. Some such as the reprogramming scam currently doing the rounds in Alicante are a straight up cons whilst others will simply be short lived. Let us be clear nobody has the licence to rebroadcast Sky in Spain as Sky themselves do not have a license to broadcast in Spain. As such anyone calling themselves Sky’s licenced reseller is to be avoided.
Then there is the IPTV solution which seems to fall into 3 sections IPTV do it yourselves. I have skimmed through many a blog showing people how to buy and configure IPTV boxes themselves. These are usually very good and as I explain regularly in my seminars this is perfectly fine if you have the time and technical know-how. You can also learn to maintain your own car, install your own kitchen, do your own plumbing in fact there was nothing to stop you getting on the roof and installing your own Sky satellite system but most of us plumped for letting the professional do the job for us as it saved us the time and hassle of getting it wrong. If you are not technically minded or don’t want the hassle of buying and programming your own box then like most things buy a box from the professional. As for buying IPTV from a professional the 2 options are a subscription based service or a subscription free service. I have heard that subscription services are better as they guarantee that you will receive a TV in the long run. But that is completely illogical. Just because you have paid someone something for a year does not protect them from going bankrupt, failing to deliver the service you have contracted, or just doing a runner especially if you have paid for it up front. Another misnomer is that you pay the subscription because the IPTV provider you pay is paying a third party for the service you enjoy. In most cases this is simply not true. These
people are not paying the BBC or ITV to show their programmes or use their catch up TV, do you want to know why. It goes right back to the official Sky reseller argument. Neither the BBC not ITV have a license to broadcast in Spain so how then could you pay them to be an official reseller. Very few of these subscription services are actually paying for the TV you watch. All you are paying for is the private tunnel or VPN which directs your device to their servers allowing them to switch you off if you fall behind on your subscriptions and the VPN which allows you to use UK catch up by fooling the servers that your device is in the UK Finally we have the one off payment IPTV service. This is a simple service where a quality IPTV box is purchased and configured and installed on your behalf. The boxes are configured to access free TV stream which are broadcast across the internet and as the internet is an intellectual property free zone with regards to its ability to be regulated these streams will remain free for the foreseeable future. A one off payment provides you with a one year hardware swap out warranty, all UK TV, a number of foreign channels, hundreds of sporting channels and live sporting events and well as up-to-the-minute box office movies as well as phone support. If IPTV is the solution you choose we would be happy to assist you with the best quality system and service at the lowest price on the market. But whatever you do please do not listen to the neigh Sayers, the same people who told us that we would never lose Sky are in the same pubs telling us that it will all be back again by summer. Shameless in their misinformation and ability to barefaced when proven wrong take thins hint from me, these are the people who told me we wouldn’t ever lose channel 5.

Cultura Manilva anima a los niños a participar en la escuela de teatro La Delegación de Cultura, dirigida por Eva Galindo, pretende fomentar el teatro entre los más jóvenes. Por ello, se anima a este sector de población a que participe en la Escuela Municipal de Teatro creada recientemente, para que disfruten de la puesta en escena, de meterse en divertidos y diversos personajes de la interpretación. Se trataría de un grupo reducido, por lo que el aprendizaje es mucho más directo y las condiciones más cómodas. Culture Manilva calls on youngsters to join local theatre school Manilva’s Culture Department, directed by Councillor Eva Galindo, is aiming to develop a love of theatre among the municipality’s younger residents, by encouraging them to join the recently created Municipal Theatre School, where they can enjoy the fun of acting and staging theatrical shows. It is a small group, so learning is more direct and personal, and is a comfortable environment in which to perform. Rehearsals are held in the Manilva Wine Centre theatre between 6 pm and 7 pm on Fridays. Organizado por el AMPA, con la colaboración del colegio y la Concejalía de Educación del Ayuntamiento. El AMPA del C.E.I.P Blas Infante de Casares, con la colaboración del colegio y la Concejalía de Educación del Ayuntamiento, ha convocado por segundo año el Concurso de Cuentos Breves para alumnos de Primaria y ESO. La iniciativa que se puso en marcha por primera vez el pasado curso pretende estimular la capacidad creativa de los alumnos y desarrollar sus habilidades de lectura y escritura, fundamentales para su aprendizaje. En el concurso podrán participar alumnos matriculados en el centro escolar durante el presente curso, para lo que se convocan cuatro categorías: 1º Ciclo de Primaria Alumnos de 1º y 2º Curso, 2º Ciclo de Primaria
Alumnos de 3º y 4º Curso, 3º Ciclo de Primaria Alumnos de 5º y 6º Curso y ESO: Alumnos de 1º y 2º Curso A todos los participantes se les hará entrega de un diploma acreditativo. Y se establecen 2 premios por categoría, que en el ciclo de Secundaria será un libro electrónico (e-Book) para el relato ganador y un lote de libros como segundo premio. Convocado el IV Concurso IV Secadero Children’s de Narrativa Infantil Narrative Contest y Juvenil del Secadero For children from 8 - 11 years and 12 to 16 years. Los trabajos se pueden presentar hasta el 13 de Abril en la biblioteca, sita en la calle Estepona La Tenencia de Alcaldía del Secadero vuelve a convocar el Concurso de Narrativa que establece dos categorías, una Infantil dirigida a niños de 8 a 11 años y otra Juvenil para jóvenes de 12 a 16 años. Las narraciones deben presentarse antes del 13 de Abril en la Biblioteca Municipal, en C/ Estepona, 47, en horario de lunes a jueves de 17:00 a 19:00 horas. Las obras deberán presentarse en un sobre con el título y categoría incluyendo los datos personales del autor (nombre, dirección, teléfono de contacto). Según se establece en las bases las narraciones deben estar escritas en castellano, ser originales e inéditas, y tener una extensión mínima de 10 páginas tamaño DIN A-4 por una sola cara. En el concurso podrán participar persona sin importar su nacionalidad, aunque deben ser residente en Secadero (Casares).

The contest is open to students enrolled in the school during the current year, and will be competed for in four categories: First and second year primary students. Third and fourth year primary students. Fifth and sixth year primary students. First and second year ESO (secondary) students. All participants will be presented with a diploma, and there are two prizes per category. In the secondary students category the prizes are an electronic book reader (eBook) for the winning story and a selection of books as second prize. The winners of the primary categories will win a year’s worth of free activities (dance school, football, etc.) and a book, and the second prize a set of books. The jury will be composed of representatives of AMPA, the director of CEIP Blas Infante, teachers and the head of the Municipal Library of Casares. The presentation of diplomas will be on April 23, coinciding with International Book Day. The awards ceremony will be on May 1.

STOA Galería de Arte Exposición Temporal “La Estepona que amo” de Conchi Álvarez
La Galería de Arte STOA expone, desde el 7 de marzo y hasta el 6 de junio, la individual de Conchi Álvarez “La Estepona que amo”. Son pinturas realizadas, la mayoría, en acrílico sobre tabla y, como novedad en esta artista, seis pequeñas encáusticas sobre papel. Esta muestra inició su andadura hace más de veinte años con un cuadro que tituló “Calle esteponera I”. Con el numeral romano la artista dejaba bien clara la intención de continuar haciendo paisaje urbano, pero la serie sobre Estepona quedó aparentemente aparcada durante mucho tiempo. Otros géneros ocuparon su interés hasta que éste reapareció, indirectamente, a partir de la prolífica serie sobre La Alcazaba de Málaga, un espacio urbano singular al que Conchi ha dedicado más de cincuenta pinturas. Precisamente la última obra realizada para la exposición individual “La Alcazaba que amo” (Galería STOA, 23 septiembre-25 noviembre de 2011) fue “Callejuela hacia La Alcazaba”, enlazando y articulando la serie sobre el monumento malacitano con el retorno al paisaje urbano. La Estepona que amo está llena de luz y color. Las obras recorren espacios pertenecientes a su centro histórico, dotado de fuerte personalidad, fruto de una fisonomía singular y urbanismo irregular. “Veinte años después” es la continuación de la serie esteponera,
como esas Vírgenes poco agraciadas, pero generadoras de un fervor sin igual. Como París tiene la Torre Eiffel o Pisa su torre inclinada, y son el emblema de la ciudad, Estepona también tiene en ella su torre-icono. “Calle Fraile” muestra también cómo la aparente fealdad deviene en belleza o cómo la aberración urbanística de una ventana en esquina, puede tener su encanto particular, caso de “Esquina Calle Torrejón”. “El Antiguo Ayuntamiento” es el claro ejemplo de cómo la artista puede fijar su atención, caprichosamente, en aspectos secundarios, como la solería, o imaginar un hipotético diálogo entre calles, como en “Las tres calles”, o simplemente regodearse en la belleza intrínseca de la “Escalinata sirena” o la “Calle Damas”, o en la gracia andaluza indiscutible de “Calle poeta Luís Rosales” y de “Calle Carlos Herrera”. Esa Estepona, la que ama, considera que es la ciudad perfecta para vivir, perfecta para crear, perfecta para disfrutar, perfecta para…
partiendo del mismo lugar de “Calle esteponera I”. Hay rincones misteriosos y encantadores, como “Escalera a ninguna parte”; espacios incomprensibles y

STOA Art Gallery - Exhibition “The Estepona That I Love” The Stoa Art Gallery is currently hosting, until the 6th of June, a solo exhibition by Conchi Álvarez entitled "The Estepona that I love.” The paintings are mostly in acrylic on board and, as an innovation for this artist, six small encaustics on paper. This exhibition began over twenty years ago with a painting titled "Street in Estepona I". With that Roman numeral, the artist left very clear intention to continue painting the cityscape, but the series on Estepona was apparently paused for a long period of time. Other genres took her interest until this one reappeared, indirectly, from the prolific series of La Alcazaba in Málaga, a unique urban space to which Conchi has dedicated more than fifty paintings. Actually, the last painting from her solo exhibition, "The Alcazaba that I Love" (STOA Gallery, September 23-November 25, 2011), was "Alley to La Alcazaba", which linked and articulated the series on the Malaga monument with the return to streetscapes. They are urban spaces always sunny, from solitary walks seeking rays of sun in winter and cool shades in summer. Without people, in order for the love between the artist and the model to arise. With her camera, she captures the spaces that have moved her, those urban features with which a fluent communication has been established, an emotional impact and even a real love. From
her walks, she returns to her studio enriched and longing to give life to those experiences with her colors. "The Estepona that I Love" is part of an ambitious series the author calls "Urban Daydreams", a title that defines well the very personal action involved in painting only cities in which this quasimagical action occurs: walk, apprehension of spaces, internal explosion and gestation of inspiration. Right now Estepona, also Malaga... but there are already more places where that magic occurs. The Estepona that I love is full of light
and color. The works of art overview spaces belonging to its historical centre, with its strong personality, which comes from a unique appearance and irregular urban planning. "Twenty Years Later" is the continuation of the Estepona series, starting from the same place "Street in Estepona I". There are mysterious and beautiful spots, like "Stairway to Nowhere"; incomprehensible and humour filled spaces, such as "Forbidden, forbidden". Streets which inevitably live in the shadow of the omnipresent Torre de los Remedios, which
is like one of those unsightly Virgins, but that generates a unique kind fervour. Just as Paris has the Eiffel Tower or Pisa has the Leaning Tower, which are the symbol of their city, Estepona also has its symbol in the tower. "Fraile Street" also shows how the apparent ugliness becomes beauty or how urban aberration of a window in a corner can have its charm, as in "Torrejón Street Corner". "The Old City Hall" is a clear example of how the artist can fix her attention, capriciously, in minor aspects, such as the flooring, or imagine a hypothetical dialogue between streets, as in "The three streets", or just take pleasure in the intrinsic beauty of "Mermaid Staircase" or "Damas Street" or the undisputed andalusian grace "Poet Luis Rosales Street" and "Carlos Herrera Street". That Estepona, the one she loves, which she believes is the perfect place to live, perfect for creation, perfect to enjoy, perfect city for... Albert Hammond joins the star studded line up at Starlite this summer
Singer songwriter Albert Hammond is the latest artist to be added to the concert programme for this summer’s Starlite Festival in Marbella. Besides releasing hits such as “It Never Rains in Southern California” and “Free Electric Band” Hammond also wrote a number of hits for other artists including “The Air That I Breathe” (Hollies), “One Moment in Time”
(Whitney Houston), “When I Need You” (Leo Sayer), and “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before” (Julio Iglesias) among many others. Hammond joins an already impressive lineup including The Beach Boys, Tom Jones, Julio Iglesias, The Pet Shop Boys, Kool and the Gang, among many others performing at this year’s Starlite from July 23 to August 23.

ESTEPONA y su enclave natural del puerto de Peñas Blancas han marcado un referente de evento deportivo del automovilismo en la especialidad de montaña. Esta prueba disputada este fin de semana ha conseguido deslumbrar por el recorrido del tramo cronometrado, por el entorno con la Costa del Sol presente, el clima primaveral, y por la organización impecable de RS Sport. Sin olvidar al público, gran protagonista, por su afluencia masiva como por su ejemplar comportamiento, perfectamente ubicado y respetando las órdenes de la organización -destacado despliegue de seguridad-. La jornada dominical ha comenzado la matinal con la subida
de entrenamientos en la que Andrés Vilariño (Osella 2000) ha marcado un nuevo récord (3:54.049) muestra de sus intenciones de victoria. Jonathan Álvarez ha sido segundo (4:03.039) y Ángela Vilariño (4:03.888), tercera –resueltos sus problemas de batería-. La sorpresa venía de parte de Javi Villa quien, en la arrancada previa a la presalida, rompía la dirección de su BRC, y no realizaba esta sesión de entrenamientos, viéndose privado de probar los cambios realizados ayer en su montura. La subida de Carrera 3 ha resultado un emocionante duelo entre los Vilariño, padre e hija. Con escasas diferencias en los parciales de la subida, finalmente, Andrés (3:54.578) se ha apuntado la
victoria absoluta con 6 décimas ventaja sobre Ángela. Javi Villa calcaba su mejor tiempo de ayer, quedando a cinco segundos del vasco. En las clasificaciones por clases, Vilariño acumula su tercera victoria de Categoría 1, pleno de triunfos que también firma Javi Villa en la Categoría 2. Igualmente, el almeriense José A. Aznar (Porsche 911 GT3) consigue el triplete en Categoría 3 (GT y turismos). La clasificación Scratch final, con la suma de las tres carreras, proclama a Andrés Vilariño como vencedor absoluto (11:52.054), por delante de los CM-BRC de Javi Villa (11:58.222), y del asturiano afincado en Marbella, Jonathan Álvarez (12:05.913). Last weekend’s opening event of the season will prove a hard act to follow with the beautiful surroundings, great weather and excellent organisation by RS Sport and the local authorities. The spectators should also be thanked for their support and for their cooperation in respecting the officials instructions and participating safely. Sunday’s events began in the morning with the practice sessions during which Andrés Vilariño (Osella 2000) showed his winning determination by breaking the course record ((3 mins:54.049 secs), Jonathan Álvarez was second (4:03.039), and Angela Vilariño third (4:03.888) thanks to battery problems on the previous day. The third and final race saw a

Éxito del VIII Torneo De Esgrima organizado por el Club Internacional “Andaluzía” en el Castillo de la Duquesa El Club Internacional de esgrima “AndaluZía” junto con la Asociación Ayuda Animal y el Ayuntamiento de Manilva organizaron el mes pasado el VIII torneo de esgrima del circuito de la Asociación Gerónimo Sánchez de Carranza. Más de 200 participantes de las principales provincias andaluzas tomaron parte en categorías de menores de 12 años y veteranos. En esta ocasión la esgrima se unió a una buena causa, la adopción y el cuidado de perros y gatos abandonados, de la mano de la asociación sin ánimo de lucro Ayuda Animal capitaneada por Lourdes Garrido. Los muros y estancias de este monumento se poblaron de niños y mayores que disfrutaron no solo de una bonita jornada de esgrima sino de talleres de manualidades, pintacaras, degustación de productos típicos, exhibición de esgrima histórica y cetrería de la mano de Jorge y Susana y sus maravillosas aves rapaces. Los jóvenes tiradores del Club “AndaluZía” se alzaron con los principales galardones y en categoría de veteranos resultó ganador nuestro maestro Paul Holder y medalla de plata Manuel Vidal en un trepidante asalto en el salón de armas del
castillo. Consiguieron su condecoración Alex, Emiel, Íñigo, Mario, Henrry, Harry, Ximena, Loui, Oscar, Mateo, Jimmy, Billy, Alisa, Jasmine, Carlota, Catherine, David, Hamish, Oliver, Amelia, Itziar, Kimberly, Héctor, Jesús, Yann, David, Gleb, Emily, Ascanio, Mireau, Maddy y Allegra.

The event was organised by Club Internacional “Andaluzía” in the Castillo de la Duquesa The “AndaluZía” International Fencing Club, together with the Asociación Ayuda Animal charity anf Manilva Town Hall, organised last month the VIII Fencing Tournament, part of the Asociación Gerónimo Sánchez de Carranza circuit. Over 200 of Andalucia's top fencers took part in the under 12s and veterans categories, and on the occasion the fencing accompanied fund raising activities for this worthy cause, headed by Lourdes Garrido, which seeks adoption for abandoned cats and dogs. The Castle was filled with children and adults who not only enjoyed some fine combat but also craft workshops, face painting, local gastronomy, a display of historical fencing and a falconry exhibition.
Club AndaluZía's young fencers took the top honours and the winner of the veterans was the club's Paul Holder, with silver going to Manual Vidal after a blistering battle in the Castle's weapons room. 1ª PRUEBA DE ESCALADA VILLA DE MANILVA
El próximo día 26 de abril se llevará a cabo la 1ª Prueba malagueña de escalada Villa de Manilva 2014. Una iniciativa impulsada por la Delegación de Deportes que dirige Mario Jiménez y que cuenta con la colaboración de las empresas Vendaval Sport, Verticalia, Gat-fricción y la agrupación manilveña Grucam. El Torneo, que se celebrará en el rocódromo del pabellón municipal Las Viñas a partir de las diez de la mañana, se desarrollará bajo la modalidad bloque y está destinado a las categorías alevín, infantil, juvenil, absoluta y promoción. Las inscripciones se realizarán

A programme of nine marathons was inaugurated at the end of March, this type of circuit XVI Diputación Provincial de Málaga, was expected to be the hardest, longest and most complete test of the last few seasons . Fifteen members of the Manilva Cycling Club participated in the categories of athletics and MTB. Remarkably the 1st position went to Fernando Gonzalez in the U23´s, 4th place to Antonio Herrera also under 23 and 3rd place to Alejandro Granados in the Elite category and finishing 9th overall. As reported by Alejandro Granados , the next race will be on the 27th of April in Alora. Both the Mayor, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez and Councillor for Sports, Mario Jiménez wanted to congratulate these champions for their record and desire to improve their sporting successes.
Manilva will host the I Manilva Climbing Trials on Saturday April 26, organised by the Manilva Sports Department, headed by Councillor Mario Jimenez, with the collaboration of Vendaval Sport, Verticalia, Gat-fricción and the local climbing group Grucam. The tournament, which will be held at Manilva's climbing wall in the town's sports hall, begins at 10 am and will be competed for in the 'block' discipline, and with the age

NUEVO LOGRO DEL CLUB CICLISTA DE MANILVA Con un programa de carreras de nueve maratones se inauguraba el pasado mes de marzo, esta modalidad del XVI Circuito Diputación Provincial de Málaga, que se prevé la más dura, larga y completa de las últimas temporadas. El X Homenaje a la Legión de Ronda daba el pistoletazo de salida con un recorrido que si ya
se preveía extremo y exigente con sus 75 kilómetros y más de 3.600 metros de desnivel acumulado, habría que sumar la aparición de los agentes climatológicos de agua, frío y barro, que llevaron la competición al punto de supervivencia para cruzar la línea de meta. Quince integrantes del Club Ciclista de Manilva participaron en las modalidades de Atletismo y MTB. Destacable la 1ª posición para Fernando Gonzalez en Sub23, la 4ª posición para Antonio Herrera también en Sub 23 y la 3ª posición de Alejandro Granados en la categoría Élite y entrando el 9º en la general. Según nos informaba el propio Alejandro Granados, la próxima carrera será el día 27 de Abril en Álora, también puntuable para el Campeonato provincial, uno de los objetivos principales marcados por el club. Marbella Rugby Club Un año más, la cantera del Marbella Rugby Club se refrenda como el rival a batir de las competiciones oficiales andaluzas. Tras la clasificación para la final de los sub-16, que ya hicieron sus deberes la pasada semana, este fin de semana recibían los conjuntos marbellíes Sub-18 y Sub-14 a Universidad de Granada y Marianistas de Jerez, para la disputa en el “Bahia´s Park” marbellí, para la disputa de los respectivos partidos de vuelta del Campeonato de Andalucía. Ya en la ida, los sub18 sentenciaron la eliminatoria con un marcador de 12 a 51 y que en la vuelta terminaron de certificar el pase a la final, con un contundente 78 a 7. Por su parte los Sub-14, se había traído de Jerez de la Frontera, una renta menor que sus “mayores” de 5 a 19. Ya en el partido, sufrieron de lo lindo para poder abatir la férrea defensa de los jerezanos, que durante todo el primer tiempo supieron aguantar y llegar al descanso con empate a cero. En el segundo periodo, tras los ajustes pertinentes,
el mejor juego dinámico a la mano, permitieron a los locales abrir el marcador y continuar con nuevas anotaciones, para concluir el encuentro con un claro 21 a 0. Para las finales, tenemos ya rivales en Sub-16 frente al Cajasol Ciencias de Sevilla, que en principio se jugaría el 4 de mayo, aunque se está tratando de adelantar al 26 de abril, para no tener ese parón tan
prolongado. Y en Sub-14 se jugará la final frente al C.A.R. Sevilla, que se celebrará en Jerez de la Frontera, que también albergará la final de consolación, que disputarán los anfitriones del Marianistas de Jerez y el C.R.A. Portuense. Queda por determinar el rival en sub-18, que saldrá de la eliminatoria que tienen que disputar Cajasol ciencias y Mairena Rugby. La fecha prevista es del 26 de abril.

The U14s played their second leg of their Semi-final of the Championship of Andalucia against Marianistas from Jerez on Saturday. The first half was a long drawn out battle between the two sides that ended in a 0-0 draw. After a vital change at half time, with Gabriel Udo moving from centre to his natural position at scrum half the back line were able to receive quick, safe ball which meant that the centres were able to run the ball & 3 quick trys were run in through great team play to end the match with the victory to Marbella. Por otro lado, el pasado viernes se celebro en el Palacio de Congresos de Marbella, la Gala Del Deporte De Marbella 2014, donde se premiaba los éxitos, logros y trayectorias de deportistas, equipos y clubes durante la temporada 2012/13. El Marbella Rugby Club un año más estuvo presente y fue nominado en siete de las trece candidaturas presentes. El gran año de la cantera marbellí fue refrendada y premiada con el Premio Labor De Cantera. Tanto el equipo SUB-18, como su capitán Facundo Munilla, como su entrenador principal Pablo Munilla (sin olvidarnos de sus compañeros del staff técnico J.A. Cervan y Jorge Boccardo), fueron premiados como Mejor Equipo Masculino, Mejor Jugador Promesa y Mejor Tecnico. También fueron finalistas y optaron a estos premios. Con solo 24 años y tarjeta del Challenge Tour, el catalán ha peleado de tú a tú con el experimentado grupo de jugadores que hoy luchaban por el trofeo. Una tarjeta de 66 golpes, dos birdies por un bogey en la primera vuelta y cinco birdies sin errores en la segunda, le han llevado a la segunda plaza de la clasificación, empatado con Richie
Ramsay a dos golpes del ganador, el italiano Marco Crespi. García Pinto comenzó a jugar al golf a los cuatro años gracias a su abuelo. Se hizo profesional en 2008 y en 2012 se unió al Challenge Tour donde logró 8 Top25. El año pasado ganó el Open de Kenia y quedó 8 veces entre los treinta mejores, pero no logró la tarjeta para el Circuito Europeo, su gran objetivo, que después de esta semana tiene más cerca al colocarse segundo en el ranking del Challenge. Adrián Otaegui ha completado también un
sensacional torneo y con los 70 golpes de hoy ha finalizado sexto empatado con Marc Warren, Kristoffer Broberg y Oliver Fisher. Pero la victoria final ha sido para la perseverancia de Marco Crespi, que a sus 35 años juega su primera temporada en el Circuito Europeo después de once años como profesional. Es, de hecho, el debutante ganador más veterano de la historia del Tour. Su mejor resultado hasta la fecha era un cuarto puesto en Sudáfrica. El italiano, que empezó a jugar a los 13 años porque su padre era
caddie del Club de Golf de Milán, ha dominado a la perfección los movidos greenes de La Reserva de Sotogrande y eso le ha dado la victoria. En el 13 también fallé pero después hice birdie al 14, que me encanta –he hecho birdie todos los días en este hoyo-. En ese momento me puse 2 por delante a falta de 4 por jugar y entonces Felipe hizo otro bogey al 15 y me vi ganador del torneo. “El día más complicado fue el segundo en el que jugamos 27 hoyos, fue muy largo pero jugué muy bien con mucho viento. Ayer hice 10 birdies, fue un día más fácil. “Llevo 11 años de profesional y esta es mi primera temporada en el Circuito Europeo ¡aunque

Llegué aquí si ponerme metas, sin expectativas y las cosas no han podido salir mejor. “He entrenado mucho durante el invierno porque solo hemos tenido un torneo hasta ahora. Cuando entreno paso hasta 8 horas en el campo de golf y eso da para todas las facetas del juego. Mentalmente me encuentro muy bien, así que esa parte no la trabajo especialmente. “Este resultado es muy importante, pero queda mucha temporada, ya lo aprendí el año pasado, cuando gané en Kenia. Hay que seguir peleando y consiguiendo buenos resultados”.
Italian Marco Crespi wins the NH Collection Open Marco Crespi insisted a good start was key as he won his first European Tour title at the NH Collection Open in Spain. The 35 year old, who came through Qualifying School at the 11th attempt in November to earn a first season on The European Tour, completed victory on only his 25th career start. A three under par 69 gave the Italian a ten under total at La Reserva de Sotogrande Club de Golf and a two shot win over Spain’s Jordi Garcia Pinto and Scotland’s Richie Ramsay. Crespi turned in a four under par 32 to race into a three shot lead, but bogeys at the 12th and 13th jeopardised his chances. The two-time Challenge Tour winner had only finished in the top ten of a European Tour event once before, finishing fourth at the South African Open earlier this season, but held his nerve and birdied the 14th before paring his way in for victory. “I started very well today,” said
Crespi. “I birdied the first and that gave me the confidence to go low. “I just had to manage my pressure on the back nine. “I lost a couple of shots on 12 and 13. On 12 I hit a very bad eight iron to the green, my only bad shot of the day. On 13 I had a very long iron, a three iron, and it wasn’t a really bad shot. “But then I birdied the next; I really like the 14th because I birdied it every day. “I played very good and I am very happy.” Earlier Ramsay had birdied his first four holes to move into a share of the lead, with Crespi, who had birdied the first, and overnight leader Matthew Nixon. But Crespi had further gains at the fifth, eighth and ninth to surge clear, and a double bogey six at the ninth effectively ended the Scot’s chances of a third European Tour title as he signed for a closing 68. Garcia Pinto birdied four of his last five holes for a 66 as the 24 year
old posted his best European Tour finish, while Nixon and Chile’s Felipe Aguilar shared fourth on seven under. “Putting has been the key this week,” added Crespi. “The greens were perfect, I felt very confident and the ball rolled beautifully. “I have been waiting a long time for this moment and I would like to dedicate my win to my wife Elena and to Carlotta, our two year old daughter.” Garcia Pinto added: “I have been working hard all winter. I spend eight hours on the golf course, working on all aspects of the game and the results are starting to show. “I came without expectations and things have turned out nicely; 66 is a great score to finish the tournament but we have a long season ahead. “I learned that last year when I won in Kenya, I must go on working and trying to score consistently week after week.”

Uno de los motivos más frecuentes para visitar al médico son los dolores de cabeza. Hay muchos tipos y causas para el dolor de cabeza. Es la hora de recordar de las orugas Thaumetopoea pityocampa, o sea, la procesionaria, quienes están saliendo de sus nidos de nuevo, ya que el clima se calienta y aproximamos la primavera. Estas orugas podrían estar fuera ahora o es posible que no van a verlos hasta abril, dependiendo de dónde se encuentre. Lo principal a recordar es que estén atentos en su búsqueda y que tuviera cuidado donde hayan pinos. Mantenga sus mascotas alejadas y no trate de tocarlos o manejarlos. Los pelos blancos están cubiertos con y contienen una fuerte sustancia irritante y tóxica. Esta forma de pasear en fila es una estrategia de protección que da la impresión de una serpiente para disuadir a los posibles depredadores, como las aves, por ejemplo. Si alguna parte de la fila de las orugas se altera se envía un mensaje a todos los demás y liberan su sustancia irritante, de los finos pelos que cubren los cuerpos de las orugas, hacia el intruso. Esta irritante no es muy diferente a la quemadura de ortigas, inicialmente, aunque algunas personas tienen una reacción alérgica alta y pueden necesitar tratamiento médico. En el caso de los bebés y los perros este irritante puede ser fatal. Los nidos de sí
mismos al estar lleno de este irritante, las personas que trabajan o que pasan por debajo de los árboles con nidos pueden notar, como mínimo, una ligera irritación ocular y/o problemas respiratorios debido al polvo flotando en el aire. ¡Algunas personas han perdido un ojo y algunas animales han fallecido debido al efecto de este tóxico, en los casos de un contacto más intenso! El mejor consejo para evitar problemas con ellos será mantenerse alejado de ellos y sus nidos, si usted tiene un árbol de pino con un nido busca la ayuda de un profesional.

The main thing to remember is to be on the lookout and to be careful. Keep your pets away and do not try to handle them. The white hairs are covered with and contain a very strong irritating toxic substance. This marching off in lines is a protective strategy giving the impression of a snake to deter would-be predators, birds for example. If any part of the caterpillar train is disturbed a message is sent to everybody on board and an irritant is released from the fine hairs covering the caterpillars’ bodies towards the intruder. This irritant is not initially dissimilar to the burn of stinging nettles but it is much more noxious, some people have a severe reaction and may need medical treatment. passing underneath trees with nests may notice mild to severe eye irritations and/ or respiratory problems, in the mildest of cases due to slight irritation from the powder drifting through the air. People have lost an eye and animals have died in cases of more severe exposure!
