Residential Our ultimate goal is to provide residents with a healthy and comfor table home. We take a per formance-led approach to designing passive and ac tive systems for housing. Simulation for thermal comfor t, daylighting and energ y consumption is a central par t of this process

Emerging Trends:

06

07

09

Transition from Code for Sus tainable Homes to voluntar y qualit y mark s

Passivhaus cos t premium reducing as supply chain matures

Increasing concerns around overheating risk and resilience to climate change

Greater integration of home automation and higher expec tations of comfor t and wellbeing

Key Success Fac tors:

08

Seamless integration of passive design element s and low-energ y MEP s ys tems

Early input into building form, massing and orientation to enhance daylight, passive solar gains and manage overheating risk

Per formance modelling of future occupanc y to assess viabilit y of s ys tems in place of SAP assumptions

Meeting growing demands for improved environmental qualit y

Keeping it simple - designing out complexit y

Our of fer A focus on regulator y compliance ins tead of real per formance has led to building s that do not wor k for t heir o cc up ant s . T his is a t rend t hat we are ac t i vel y working to change.
