BRAND SELECTION Vera Wang began a sweeping makeover of the bridal industry in 1990 with the opening of her flagship salon at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City. Nowadays Vera Wang is considered the best brand in the wedding gown fashion.

Vera Wang’s principle of decorating the spaces where her gowns are exhibited is simplicity. Nothing is allowed to disturb the view of a bride, main attention is attracted to the gown.

BRAND’s PHILOSOPHY When creating gown collection, VW divides all her brides into 5 categories: traditional innovational minimalistic individualistic romantiŃ

Spring 2013
Colors is something that helps VW to represent these 5 characters. Yet, every dress can be produced in white, and color just helps a woman to understand which character she is forgetting about labels of a white dress.

CONCEPT Accordingly to the brand image, the following steps were taken into consideration while designing an exhibit space: - 5 dresses represent 5 characters; - all the characters are connected, there is a slight difference between them; - an inspiration for installation comes from whirlpool - element associating with mixing and eliminating borders;

REFERENCE PROJECTS The Reddress was created with aim to question the roles we play as a participant or performer. Up to 238 spectators are able to immerse themselves and wrap up inside the colossal gown, while a performer climbs up a concealed staircase inside a dress.

Gabriel Dawe works with colorful threads. One color when intersecting with another color on a different angle can create feelings and moods.

LAYOUT RENDER
Considering all mentioned above, the exhibiting installation was created and put within the church. The path is organized so that visitors could walk through the installation, see every dress one by one and get a feeling of continuity.

INSTALLATION DESCRIPTION The main element of the exhibition is an installation out of thick threads with the main item in the middle and four others forming a shape of a whirlpool.

Thus, the exhibition space is organized within one installation, connecting all the exibiting items through a thread, which changes its color along the installation path.
