MODULE 1 HOW TO DRAW A CROISSANT?

.01 MEASURED DRAWING OF A CROISSANT
How to measure a Croissant? First, I took photos of three views of the croissant and scanned three sections of the cut croissant including the base. Second, I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the pictures using Photoshop. After that, I traced them and added some shadings and hatchings. At last, used axonometric method to draw the cross-sectional croissant. Throughout the process I learn the foundation skills of axonometric drawing which is helpful for my module 2 mario world.

World: 26-6 .02 NEW MARIO WORLD
The making of new Mario world. The new Mario world explores the use of colour to create an aesthetically appealing and balanced composition which reflects a three dimension effect. Elements such as the characters, signs and icons were added to enhance the liveliness and sense of compositional balance presented. The use of similar colour and the stairs also played around with the concept of the ‘hidden’.

Projection of 2D Mario image. The Mario image was rotated on a 45 degree angle and its objects projected onto the paper with 2B pencil.
Locate each point of object . Draw 10*10 rotated 45 degree grid to locate each point of the object.
Combination of two worlds. The process above was repeated but for the second Mario image which was projected onto the bottom half of the complete Mario world.

.03 PAPER LANDSCAPE
The making of new landscape The original terrain is like a hill. My paper model is adopted from the idea of volcano by creating different shapes to illustrate the hourglass. The model is created from a combination of 2D papers and 3D models. The 3D models are created from three different shapes with similar models. I tried to achieve the paper modellings by following the landscape that was given to me. Therefore, I tried to attach each paper models by considering the curved landscape. But it is not really successful because I was running out of time to stick the models together carefully so it looks messy.

ities & the sky OLD QUAD ISOMETRIC WITHCNOTATIONS
2: BeersheBa
CITY&SKY 2 BEERSHEBA From the route that marco pole walks through, we could imagine the feeling of macro polo when he saw the dirty and messy city at first he walks through it with a heavy mood. Then walks quickly to the sky city. The transition of space line can show the parts of two different city. From the light feeling notation it is obvious that the atmosphere of the sky city is much better. There is a strong contrast between two city.

PERSPECTIVE 1 “MAGNIFICENT HEVEAN
This scene is represents the celestial Beersheba which is a city of pure gold, a jewel-city. The citizens accumulate noble metals and rare stone. So I put many sparkle object and add gold texture on the column to make it looks magnificent. In oder to make it reasonable all the objects are lit by direct sunlight. In addition, I select the sun, star and cloud element to show this is a celestial city. I make the characters in the distance to highlight the objects.

PERSPECTIVE 2 “THE FECAL CITY” This scene focuses on the Beersheba below the ground. As the story mentions that it is full of rubbish, dirty and messy” or even that its substance is dark, like the pitch that pours down from black hole tho black hole......” It is obvious that I put many dirty objects to creat a sense of sick and twisted world. Also I add the crack on the column add the dark hole at the back to make it more creepy. Because this is the world from the belif of the citizens so it is not real. Hence, I scale the objects especially the rat in a bigger size to make this city abstract.

REFLECTION
A range of equipment and softwares being covered in the modules overall assisted in my ability to produce variations of technical work. While Module 1 was heavily based on drawing and rendering which helped to enhance more manual skills that are relevant to designing and also enriched my capabilities in using softwares like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign and Adobe Illustrator. It was a task for me to use the Rhino at first since I never used such three- dimensional modelling and paneling tool but there is always a first time. In contrast to the tutorials and workshops the content of the lectures is particularly helpful in getting inspiration. For instance, the lecture in regard to the distinction between the frame and the field help me provide depth and reasoning according to my story. And also the reading about the notation is quite interesting and is useful for me to narrate my city story. Because of the unreasonable time arrangement and the changing of my idea halfway through the process, the outcome of my Module 3 is not presentable. I was running out of time to fold the module so it looks rough which makes it not successful. Therefore, a reasonable time management is extremely important in the process. In addition, sticking to the original idea is significant somewhile. Through pin ups, I also consider that I obtained a sense of how to build the critical thinking and how to inspect my own work more thoroughly to develop my own styles and techniques within the task. Four modules that I accumulated sufficient knowledge and professional technical knowledge is full, verbal presentation practice ability has been improved, psychological also have a qualitative leap.
