Anyone who visits Crested Butte, Colorado leaves with mountain-town envy. Full of historic charm and soulful spirit, the old mining town is home to Eleven’s flagship property, Scarp Ridge Lodge, and its quaint next-door neighbor, Sopris House.

HISTORY

Crested Butte, which sits 8,885 feet above sea level, was historically a mining and ranching community. When a ski resort opened on Mt. Crested Butte in the 1960’s, this end-of-the-road paradise experienced a legendary revival and has since been aptly dubbed “Colorado’s Last Great Ski Town.” Averaging 300 inches of snow per year, winters in Crested Butte rival the summers, which are filled with festivals, parades, farmer’s markets, live music, and an endless list of outdoor pursuits like hiking, biking, fishing, and rock climbing amidst the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado.”

A two-night full buyout minimum is required to host your wedding at Scarp Ridge Lodge.* Buyouts of Scarp Ridge Lodge include pre-arrival planning with an Eleven Experience Manager, chef-prepared breakfast and après, an in-room minibar, house alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and round trip airport transfers to Gunnison. Event exclusions apply; please reach out to the sales team for details.

PRICING & INCLUSIONS OVERVIEW

A venue fee of $5,000 and 2-night minimum buyout is required.

Buyout Requirement

Venue Fee Inclusions

Venue Fee: $5,000

• The venue fee covers the cost of one event. Should you be interested in hosting more than one event at Scarp Ridge Lodge, such as a welcome party, reception dinner, or postwedding brunch, please let us know and we would be happy to discuss options and pricing with you.

• Use of venue common areas for reception, cocktail hour, and ceremony. These spaces include Scarp Ridge Lodge’s lobby, dining area, kitchen, bar, and great room.

• Furniture removal in the kitchen, bar, and lobby. Furniture can be rearranged or removed (except the dining room tables) with prior consent from our Lodge Manager.

• Event set-up and breakdown time.

• Access to event bathrooms with attendants available for upkeep during the event. Each bathroom is equipped with amenity baskets and Aesop hand balm and soap.

• Wedding planning services: Day-of coordinator services are required and pre-event planning services are highly recommended. Eleven does not provide these services but our preferred vendors list can be found on page 27.

• Food: All catering must be arranged by an outside caterer.

Our bar program delivers a highly personalized level of service, a keen eye for detail, and a topnotch assortment of beverages to delight you and your guests throughout the event.

External Catering Options

All catering must be arranged by an outside caterer. See page 27 for recommendations.

All alcohol at Scarp Ridge Lodge must be provided and served by Eleven.

Details

House alcohol is included for guests of the lodge during the stay. During the event, a discount onbar package will be applied for guests of the lodge. All alcohol at Scarp Ridge Lodge must be provided and served by Eleven. No outside alcohol is permitted.

Bar Staff

Bartenders will be provided by Eleven at an additional fee of $25/hour per bar staff member. The number of bar staff is based upon the number of event guests. There is a 4-hour minimum for bar service.

• 1-20 Guests: 1 Bartender

• 21-45 Guests: 2 Bartenders

• 46-75 Guests: 2 Bartenders and 1 Barback

• 80+ Guests: 3 Bartenders and 2 Barbacks

SOPRIS HOUSE OVERVIEW

A next-door neighbor to Eleven’s flagship property, Sopris House is full of history and character, just like the town of Crested Butte.The original 1882 building infamously became the Spritzer Bar, a saloon bought in 1942 and operated by Slovenian immigrants. It is now an intimate four-bedroom home with a private saloon, reminiscent of its original personality but reimagined with immaculate alpine style.

STAFFING AND COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS

Staff Role

• Our staff will ensure that the property, including the buildings and operations, remains functional.

• Our staff are not trained as event staff and will not act as such, but they are excited to deliver an amazing experience for you and your guests as trained Eleven hospitality staff.

Staff Style

• In keeping with Eleven’s unpretentious personality and the lodge’s rustic atmosphere, staff are likely to wear flannels instead of black tie attire. You can generally liken the level of formality to a fireside PBR ambiance instead of a goldplated, white-gloved presentation.

Communication Pathways

• The Lodge Manager will be responsible for communication with wedding planners and all wedding related questions, comments or planning.

• The Experience Manager will be responsible for planning the rest of the guests’ stay, including activities, rooming assignments, and travel logistics to the property.

• Wedding-related planning through the Lodge Manager can begin earlier, but the Experience Manager’s role planning on-property guest stays will begin 30 days out. We know that wedding planning involves extensive preparation and we want to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported through the entire process.

Communication Timing

• The Lodge Manager will connect with the wedding planner (and wedding party if necessary) at approximately 60 days out to ensure that everyone understands the inclusions and exclusions. At this point, the Lodge Manager can also field any other questions regarding the event and assist with pointing you in the right direction where necessary.

• The Experience Manager will connect with the wedding party and the guests staying at the property 30 days out to plan the entirety of their stay beyond the event, including itinerary, guest information forms, travel logistics, and more.

BUDGETARY EXPECTATIONS

Incidental Billing

• All incidental expenses accumulated during the stay will be charged to the final bill. In most cases, the wedding vendor expenses will be coordinated through the wedding planner and billed separately.

• All bar expenses will be paid upon checkout.

PREFERRED VENDORS

Eleven is happy to work with any vendor but we request approval for anyone not listed on our preferred vendors list should their billing go through Eleven.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LATE CAN OUR PARTY GO?

Music must end by 10:00 pm at the property due to state and/or local noise ordinance and regulations. All event guests not staying at the property must depart by 11:00 pm. Live music and/or DJ’s will not be permitted after 10:00 pm. Their congregation on the property after the event is prohibited.

CAN I PLAN MY OWN WEDDING?

Day-of wedding coordinator services are mandatory and pre-event planning services are highly recommended. We are happy to recommend a local planner that can assist with your event. Eleven is only responsible for lodging and the venue itself and is not responsible for any event planning details.

WHAT ARE THE LIQUOR LICENSE RULES IF I BUYOUT BOTH PROPERTIES?

Sopris House does not have a liquor license and therefore, Eleven is not permitted to supply any alcoholic beverages for guests. Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages between the two properties due to the licensing law of Scarp Ridge Lodge. You are more than welcome to stock the Sopris Bar yourselves or hire an outside vendor to work your event. Our vendor recommendations can be found on page 27.

AM I ABLE TO HOST A REHEARSAL DINNER OR WEDDING LUNCHEON AT THE PROPERTY?

We would be more than happy to host all of your wedding celebration events. Other events have different costs associated with them, so please reach out to the sales team for additional pricing and information.
