The British Museum At the British Museum in London you can see the world! It is a museum dedicated to human history, art and culture from all over the world. Children can follow activity trails and go on a journey of discovery around the Museum. You can find out about life in Ancient Greece and the Egyptian mummies. Or you can go on an African adventure or become an archaeologist for a day!

School dinners in the UK Do you have lunch at school? .............................................................. Do you like the food you eat at school? Why/Why not? .............................................................. School dinners (lunch is also called ‘dinner’) are the hot meals that children eat at school. It’s nice to sit and eat together with your friends.

There is a main course, a dessert and a drink. Some children take a packed lunch to school. In a packed lunch there is usually a sandwich, juice and a piece of fruit.

School dinners must be healthy. The Eatwell Plate shows us that it is important to eat food from the five food groups. Don’t eat too much food from the sugar group. It’s not good for you!

Fruit and vegetables Protein (meat, fish or cheese) Carbohydrates (rice or pasta)

Remember! Eating the right food helps you to concentrate and learn well. It also helps you to grow and be healthy.

Learn to draw

Draw a triangle for the body. Draw three squares for the head.

Draw two rectangles for the ears and two small circles for the eyes.

Draw two big triangles on the side of the body.

Draw two triangles for the back legs and two rectangles for the front legs.

Colour your dog. Write ENGLISH on the dog’s tummy. Cut out and stick your dog on your English exercise book.
