Maybe not the lie he wanted off the tee, but it certainly set up a great photo opportunity.

The year 2016 was definitely one for the history books. The Philadelphia Junior Tour saw a record number of memberships, meaning more junior golfers are taking advantage of an opportunity to play the game at a competitive level, gaining critical experience for future golf opportunities. An increase in members really does two things. First and foremost, more members equal more competition. Competitive fields allow players to play against some of the best players in the Philadelphia Section on a more regular basis. This type of experience is what many of our players seek on our Tour, and we are happy to say, the competition is only getting better. Secondly; the game of golf itself. Many argue the game is in a decline and golf is not booming as it once was. When we see over 900 junior members on the Philadelphia Junior Tour alone, we are reassured that the great game we have all come to love is doing just fine now, and will be in great hands in the future. The level of talent we see each and every year is exceptional. Just when you think that junior golfers cannot get any better, our members prove us wrong; and believe us, we love every bit of it. Our Tour provides an opportunity for advanced beginners to tee it up along-side nationally ranked juniors. Again, that’s the type of experience that is going to drive players to achieve success. We are thankful for everything our juniors and parents do to help make the Philadelphia Junior Tour a success. Each and every week, fields of players travel tens to hundreds of miles in order to showcase their talents and abilities. Just as excited as players are to tee it up, we are equally excited to host tournaments for them. It is truly what we love to do. The 2017 schedule will be released in full in the near future. As our players know, a nice golf shirt comes along with a Tour membership and next year’s are looking really sharp. We encourage you to register for membership next year as soon as possible so that you can take advantage of your membership as much as possible. This means optimizing the amount of tournaments you play in. We again want to express just how much we appreciate you, the junior, for playing in our events, and you the parents, for your continued support of your junior player(s) and the Philadelphia Junior Tour. We want to wish everyone a fun and safe holiday season and we cannot wait to see each and every one of you next season. Many thanks, PJT Task Force
