For centuries, precious goods were transported from Sichuan to all points of the globe along the great rivers that coursed through the province. The salt from Ji Gong was transported from Sichuan to the world along this river, via Yangzhou. This is the story of a place. A tale of two cities and two rivers. The mighty Yangtze meets the Chishui river at He Jiang, long Sichuan’s commercial hub. From there the Yangtze and Chishui rivers connect to Yangzhou and Chengdu, respectively.
