Fucture Venice
Description. This exercise aim to explore the form of a imaginary future city above the water, after the global environmental disaster, that cause se level changing. 3 iterations have been tested. The idea of the following 3 iterations, all describing about the concept that, the future Venice above water, will be a new oasis that not only can be use as shelter, but also vegetation species storage, that can protect and growing species for future generation.

Exercise1-Future Venice
The outer structure can be used for green wall as well. And under the water is another storage and the columns on the corners can be used to transfer oxygen underneath at the same time.

This form is showing a networ of the central space to the surrounding functional areas for different using, and the circulation is connected to show an idea of a whole community.
This form tells the story of a new living oasis ( a tree) over the water, that the underneath area is for storage, and the lift that transfer users to top is another conservatory and sightseeing purpose.
Central are is using as a educational and storage puropose conservatory & showcase.
The office and residential floorplates will be around the lift, and the vegeations also will be planted on the structure both inside and out. The whole structure is a showcase, and encouraging a new living style-living interwine with nature above the water after disease.

This inside-out gallery design, is an combination of irregualr form. Instead of designing along the axis, tring to male the circulation more circulated, using tunnels to link each functional form/space. While also using a conseratory as a central attraction point.
Château de Chambord Domenico da Cortona,1547
This design had been inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, a classical yet unique French style castle. Deisgned on an axis and grid, with double helix staricase, so passengers will moving in the same area yet meet each other. The most inspiring part of the deisgn are the sculpture columns and decorated roof above.

Description. This exercise aim to explore the landart of the future floating city. Iteration1 Aim to create a symbiosis floating oasis. My first impression to describe life and continuity is branches & leaves.Echo to the conecept, the land is designed with connected underwater tunnels and above-water roads as “branches”, different zoning and functional area as ‘leaves’. Showing the idea of unite and mutualism.

Iteration3 The Melbourne typical crop farm field as the inspiration, the land is becoming a second farm after the global warming issues, to keep providing resources for residents. With traditional farm barn form houses, as residential and agricluture resource storage at the same time. Linking by crop field strips as a natural link. The small houses with mechanical design, can rotate with any degree, to meet with naighbour, or move to another strip of crops. Each small cube belongs to several families or certain company, they have to take responsbilities to the crops and otehr vegetation grwon in their own house. Kisho Kurokawa
fig1. First Version of Algricultural City
fig2. Second Version of Algricultural City(Model)
Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa designed “Agricultural City.” Aim to replace the agricultural towns in Aichi, which was destroyed by typhoon in 1959. The accommodation was to be raised above the ground to deal with future Flooding. The grid was intended to be between 300 and 500 meters; Kurokawa challenged the assumption that the city and the country need to be antagonistic. Natural growth of the agricultural city is provided by a grid system of streets containing the utility pipes underneath. While each of the square units composed of several households is autonomous, linking these units together creates a village. The living units multiply spontaneously without any hierarchy, gradually bringing the village into being as the traditional rural settlement has developed throughout Japanese history

A combination of different scale of modular houses, rotate with certain degree to create a free and orgainc planning. Creating individual small central space for each group of small units. Green space on top of the unit as roof garden. Central space as an attratcion point in an organic form, inspired by the shape of water bubbles being pocked, with underneath office areas. The individual bubble shape buildings on edge of the strips will be use as educational purpose consevatories and fertilizer collection spot for plants. The strips have two different layers, top for crops, underneath as pedastrian tunnels for circulation. The rectangular space created by the grids, will be use for aqiatic plants. As well as the underwater tunnels for vehicles, and with a sightseeing purpose. 51

Kengo Kuma-Nest We Grow With material of timeber & danpalon
1.The scale of the project, especially the scale of the crop strip grids has been changed from 2.5m width each to 5m. For more flexible circulation above underneath is still for service pipes and tunnel when necessary. The main movement for users will still remain above the strips. Some main roads for vehicles are 15m width each. The combination of each strip including one central pathway in the centre, and crop areas on two sides. Some horizontal stirps have also been moved further down, the height difference will be used staircases.) 2. The central attraction building for a public event and species storage underneath, has been moved to the east edge, for sight viewing purpose as well, especially during the sunset. With the small thresholds on the surface to create a poetic scenery and atmosphere with the effect of sunlight and shading. The previous inside-out gallery has been replaced with a new one, been inspired by WallHouse II, been placed in the centre. This gallery will also have an underwater area and will connect to underwater sightseeing tunnels, which has been shown in the mid-sem present. Will be used as a circulation centre transaction spot underneath the water. Trying to add on more circulation pathways on the gallery to connect the other buildings. 3, The residential and office buildings will be intertwined. On both North and South housing complex, a staircases tower for main circulation to transfer between each floor. Under levels will be used for offices, upper levels including roof gardens are for residential. The continuous corridors inside this modular house, aim to weaken the boundaries between each module, no matter offices or residential. Greenery/ vegetation is also been placed on the pathways, and central courtyard for some of the horizontal modular group, user can even plant their own plant to create their own style So the whole structure of the office+residential building can be seen as a vegetation showcase, also reach the aim of living/working in-between nature. The materiality of these houses is lvl timber and Danpalon (a precedent material shown in pic4-Nest We Grow by Kengo Kuma) for surfaces. (sustainable reason )And glass for top gardens. My idea renders for the final is a similar style of pic6.
