Pastor’s Pitch : Good News of Great Joy The Asda Christmas advert says “Let’s make Christmas Special.” Nothing from Asda or any other supermarket will ever make Christmas any more special, anymore awesome, than it already is. There is no supposed ‘magic dust’ that will beat the true message of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. Let me explain what makes Christmas not only special but absolutely amazing. Jesus, the son of God, the one who created everything, came to earth as a tiny baby, God with us. An act that showed His great love for us coming alongside humanity on earth and experiencing life exactly as we do. Jesus came as the Saviour, the one who would provide forgiveness for everything that we have ever done wrong, (yes everything) and the joy of freedom from guilt and judgment, by His death on the cross. Jesus, the King of Kings, also brought hope, hope of a kingdom in the future that will not only be better, but will be perfect. What makes Christmas not just special but absolutely amazing is the love of God, the joy of salvation and the hope of a future kingdom in Jesus Christ.
