Elmfield Activities Sundays Morning Worship Services are held every week from 10.30am - 12.00 noon. During the service, frequently enhanced by video clips relevant to the theme of the day, we normally celebrate Communion. Any children present leave the service after about 25 minutes for their separate activities in God’z Zone (4+ to 9+) and Revive (for 10+ age). A crèche for pre-school children is also available. Evening services at 6.30pm involve a series of talks under the heading ‘Sacred Space’. On the 1st Sunday the Youth group are responsible for arranging the service. On the 2nd Sunday of the month we celebrate Communion during this service. We do not meet on a 5th Sunday of a month. Refreshments are served from 6.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend any of these services.

Pastor’s Pitch : Bad News !! A day doesn’t go by without hearing another news story about some awful crime having been committed. As I write, America is mourning the death of 17 high school students in a mass shooting in Florida, more details of charity workers using prostitutes are coming out, Hollywood continues to try to excise the blight of sexual harassment and knife crime escalates in the capital. What is the answer to this avalanche of sin and wrongdoing? We largely see this problem as someone else’s problem. “Why are other people so bad?” Why do they do such things?”“It must be their upbringing,” and yet we all know that we do wrong things, that we do things that we do not want to do. I hear you protest, “Nothing as bad as the things that we read of in the paper.” True, but they are still things that spoil relationships, that hurt others, that gnaw away inside us, that hurt and offend a perfect God.

“It is our upbringing!” No! It is our nature. The Bible tells us that we are by nature those who do wrong, all of us, even you. So what is God’s solution? God’s solution is Jesus. Jesus, who was perfect, who never sinned, who took on Himself the punishment for us who had sinned. Jesus was sent to die on the cross in our place, to take away our sin. He rose from the dead three days later proving that he had broken the power of sin over our lives. In the midst of so much bad news discover the good news of Easter this year at Elmfield. Nick Addington, Pastor, Elmfield Church
