Context of Practice 3 Research Proposal EP251810

Research Question; To what extent do Technological developments in production and distribution impact on Graphic Design ? I plan on researching into the correlation between technological developments & advances, and Graphic Design practice today. I plan on focusing more specifically on hand-rendered typography and handmade or analogue print methods, also looking into the idea that ‘Print Isn’t Dead’. I feel as though I have gained a broad knowledge of these subject matters throughout COP2, and plan on refining my research and enabling myself to come to a more specific, well researched and clear conclusion in COP3. I plan on exploring various way in which hand rendered Graphic Design it utilised to suit or cater to a particular demographic, and wether the use of these analogue methods is something conciously considered by the audience. To do so, I will carry out primary research in the form of questionnaires going out to customers of various shops using these design techniques within their branding, as well as the shop owners themselves, to gain a wider knowledge of their recognition of the effect their chosen aesthetic style of branding is having.
