2017 All Original Season of
Classic Tales Retold Sharing the beauty, power, and wonder of classic stories offer a way to embed their important lessons and truths in our children and carry them forward forever.
Pollyanna Saves Jimmy Bean adapted from the book by Eleanor H. Porter Pollyanna Whittier has been orphaned. She is sent live with her wealthy but stern Aunt Polly. Though not wanted by her Aunt, Pollyanna's positive philosophy of life (which is literally the only thing her father left her) sustains her and eventually changes the whole town plus saves another orphan.
The Jungle Book Two adapted from the book by Rudyard Kipling The adventures of Mowgli, Baloo and many new animals as well continue in this story which is taken from Kipling’s second book. If you like the Lion King, you’ll love this play. The Kipling stories it is taken from have all of the drama and humor that accompany animals who encounter challenges in the wild.
A Christmas Carol adapted from the book by Charles Dickens This retelling of the remarkable story of Ebenezer Scrooge is true to the original. Though not a musical, it is a play with music. Though not a comedy, it does have many very funny moments. Though fictional, it does allow us to travel to another time via Scrooge’s journey, and rejoice with him in man’s ability to change. Adaptations written & directed by Diane Crews Tentative Performance Months are April – September – December Specific Dates & Location TBA
