If God Is Able Then What Is Keeping You From Your Miracle? Luke 18:26-27 “And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Henry nelson Matthew 17:2021 says, “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for assuredly, I say to you, If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Amen!
I
am thankful that we serve an awesome and mighty God! I am glad that He has everything in control even though it seems that everything around us is out of control! I readily admit that there are times that God seems a million miles away, but in reality, He is closer than you think. Amen!
He is as close as the mention of His name! Whatever your needs may be, He is always there to help bear our load. If we are tempted, He is able to deliver. If we are sick, He is able to heal. And whenever we need a miracle, God is still the miracle worker! Amen! I do not want, in any way, to portray our Savior as some kind of errand boy who is at our beckon and call. But, I do want to say that God is concerned about His children, and He is always there to answer the prayer that is ushered out of a heart of faith! It seems that many times the reason why you fail to receive an answer from God is not because you have not prayed. It is not because you have not known God’s Will or Way. But, it is because of a lack of your faith! Amen! It has never been a question of God’s ability or power, for by our text you read that “for with God all things are possible to them that believe!” So if you will allow me again to ask the question, “If God is able, what’s keeping you from your miracle?” We serve an awesome and mighty God!
There is no lack to our God and His mighty power. He is not some gray-headed grandfatherly figment of our imagination that walks stooped over with some weather beaten staff in hand. The God of this Bible that is declared to be the Almighty God who knows no limitations or bounds. He is the Ancient of Days who fills up all space and time! He is the Great Creator of this universe who has made all things including man whom He made in His own image! And what God becomes to us strictly depends upon how we really see Him. How big He becomes depends on how you put the magnifying scope of His Word to your spiritual eyes, and focus in upon a God who is bigger than anything you could ever imagine! Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Amen When you think that the moon is just over 100 thousand miles away from the earth. And Pluto, the farthest planet in our solar system is nearly 10 billion miles away. And traveling even farther, 50 billion miles from the earth is what scientist call Interstellar Space, and even it reach-

12th Annual Religious Hall of Fame Banquet Slated for Saturday By Lola Searcy

ore than 12 years ago, while driving along in his car, Mr. William “Bill” Blair was divinely prompted to start the Religious Hall of Fame. “Pastors for centuries have committed their lives to the ministry of people. There are numerous Halls of Fame hailing the feats of countless people, but who has done more for our lives, communities and society than the preacher” our heritage is steeped in the grassroots of our Pastors”, exclaims Dr. Blair. This Saturday at 12:00 pm (High noon), at the Sterling Hotel, located at 1055 Regal Row, here in Dallas, the tradition continues. Dr. Blair will add another twelve men to the list of the more than 150 past inductees who hold the distinction of being a part of the only organization of its kind in the country!
Prophet James Andrews, Jr.,
was born, raised and educated in the Dallas Independent S c h o o l District. As a child he was brought up at Prophet James Andrews, Jr the Bexar S t r e e t Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas under the pastorate of his late grandfather, the Rev. R.L. Robertson. Prophet James is also the nephew of the current pastor, Dr. C.C. Robertson, President of the national Missionary Baptist Convention of America. Prophet James has evangelized throughout the country and in 1989 founded the Dallas Rhema Word Church. This was

the first Black prophetic ministry to come to Duncanville, Texas. With Prophet James’ love for the Lord ad for God’s people he decided to further his education by attending Bible College in Kingston, Jamaica and Seoul, Korea in the Hallelujah Mountains.
Dr. Bernard Black was born in
Tyler, Texas. He attended Elementary and High School in the Tyler Independent S c h o o l District. He Dr. Bernard Black attended W i l e y College in Tyler and Wiley College Extension School in Ft. Worth. Rev. Black continued his education in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Grand Canyon university, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Steven’s Baptist College, Master’s Degree from International Bible Institutional Seminary and a Doctorate degree from Guadalupe Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Black also holds a Certificate from Bishop College, Lacy Kirk Institute. Dr. Black has served as Pastor of the South Phoenix Baptist Church since 1965. The church has grown from a small property, to one of the leading churches in the State of Arizona. Dr. Bernard Black serves as the Moderator of the Zion Rest District Association, President of the Arizona State Convention, as well as Vice-President of Financial Affairs in the national Missionary Baptist Convention of America.

eSoto High School graduate and basketball player standout, Chelsea Gardner has signed a

scholarship to play basketball at the university of Kansas. But not only did Chelsea excel on the basketball court; being a member of the 1st team All-District, Defensive Player of the year, uSA Junior AllState High School Basketball Team; All-State 5-A Team, 5-A District, her athletic accomplishments go on and on. And not only is Chelsea a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court, excels in the classroom as well. She graduated from DeSoto High this past June in the top 10 percent of her class of 544 members. She has also received the national Achievement Academy Award, and the national Mathematics Award. She is very active in her community working and volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas oak Cliff Branch. She participates in the young Leadership Keystone Club, Collegiate Steps, just to name a few.
Chelsea is the daughter of Aubrey and Lois Gardner. She has one brother, one sister and two nephews and one niece. She is a member of the Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Hutchins, Texas where she serves in the Sunday School, usher Board and youth /young Adult Choir. Chelsea plans to major in Computer Engineering at the university of Kansas.

People who own real estate and mortgage companies are the ones who have the power to cause real problems for the homeowners. It seems harder for Black communities, because right now it seems that we are going back to the old days. “Last Hired – First Fired”. This causes a great problem for most people, they can not come up with the money to get things straight because the mortgage company can go up on the payment every few months, because of this, or that reason which you really do not understand because you do not know anything about the mortgage business. They do not tell you that they have sold your note 2 or 3 times to other banks. They do not mention these facts to you. After draining you of all your little money by threatening letters they send you, a letter of foreclosure and it scares you to death, so, in order not to be embarrassed by getting set out by officials we up and leave our homes without any protest, or “Fight Back”. That is playing right into their hands. For your information there is another way. Another way for you to keep your home in tact. There are some people that I know who can make a difference in this matter. These people are feared by mortgage companies, because they know these people understand the working order of these companies and that Is nerve racking to them, because they know

they cannot pull the wool over their eyes. These people I am talking about have helped many, many people save their homes, plus money. Sow to please the Sprit
A
man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we Geraldine will reap a harvest if we do not give Davidson-Hooker up.”_ Galatians 6:79 In the spring, a farmer prepares the soil, plants the seed, and waits several days for the first signs of life. Many weeks pass before a few inches of growth occur and several months go by before it’s time to harvest. Much hard work and patience go into reaping a bountiful crop. The soil of our spiritual field is rich, full of nutrients and moisture; and whether we realize it or not, we are working hard and planting in our field every single day. Let me say that again: Every day as we go out into the world we are planting into our spiritual field. Anything we plant is going to grow and produce a harvest according to what we have planted. Every day we are given the opportunity to go into the field and plant new seed; “His compassions never fail, they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23). We are also given the choice of which seed to plant. Seeds of faith and forgiveness are essential for our eternal survival. Seeds of hope and trust are necessary for a life of peace and contentment. And seeds of love, purity, worship and praise are the seeds which will make our fields beautiful a fragrant offering to the Lord. But there is another type of seed - the seeds of lies and deception, of worldly passions and self exaltation. unfortunately, once these seeds are planted, they can grow faster and stronger than all competing plants. If allowed to grow, these sinful seeds will rise up to dominate the field and choke everything which draws us closer to God; “The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature” (Luke 8:14). Today is a new day with a new opportunity to plant. We must not grow weary of planting that which draws us closer to God; “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think of such things” (Philippians 4:8). Today, we WILL plant - so let’s plant wisely! Let’s sow seed which glorifies our Heavenly Father and honors Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior; and let’s nurture our field with an unending love. Let’s sow the seeds of a bountiful harvest which is free of weeds as we daily abandon the sinful nature and sow to please the Spirit.

ur church school lesson was “Walk in God’s path” Judges 13:1-8, 2425. The lesson opens with Israel in captivity again. In all of the lessons for this eld Lloyd T. Before we judge them too harshly we must take a close look at ourselves and ask are we consistent in our love and obedience to God. The Philistines have oppressed them for forty years but because of his love and compassion for Israel God chose a woman who had not been able to have children to be the mother of a special son, named Samson. Sampson was a nazirite unto the Lord. As strong as Samson physically he was one of the weakest men spiritually he had no self control. He was born to begin to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. Jesus came to deliver
us from bondage to sin and he did not fail. our morning message was brought by Evangelist Vickie Dean from the subject “Show me something”Jam.2:1420; 26. The point was well made that there are many within the church community that are more talkers than they are doers of God word. The church of old works spoke for them. The world today is looking to the church for spiritual leadership but becomes disillusioned when they see more talk about how God want us to live than they do people that are actually living according to God’s word. There is a saying that drives home the point “I can’t hear what you are saying for watching what you are doing” and “I would rather see a sermon that hear one any day”. As believers we must let our light shine more now than ever because of the darkness that exist in our world. o you have needs in your life that cannot be fulfilled by man? Well, with the right attitude, we can find ourselves on the mountain of expectation. With this attitude of Pastor Clarence Henderson expectation, you are just right for a miracle. We are to pray expectantly. Prayer is not a one-way conversation. Just as we allow God to speak to us when we read and study his word, so also we delight in His speaking to us after we have prayed. But at times, we knock and then run away before he opens the door. Therefore, because we now have an attitude of expectation, we learned how to wait patiently on the Lord. ultimately our strength is renewed and our coming out of the prayer closet is better than our going in. Wo! “He rewards us openly”.

n the nFL supposedly everybody is trying to make a run at the Super-Bowl. Believe me there is no set way to get there or win it. The current Champion Green Bay Packers made the play- offs by the closest of margins. The Cowboys Leon Simon won three Championships in the 90’s with arguably the best 53 players. Some teams have won with Hi-powered offenses, lock down defenses, some even with great special team play. Those are the 3 phases of the game. The new England Patriots won 3 with the team concept. I don’t mean to imply that the Patriots were void of talent. But at the introduction of their first Super-Bowl win they had the whole team come out, no individuals. The Pittsburgh Steelers came within a cat hair of winning last year, with the worst offensive line in nFL history. With the exception of Troy Polamolu they might have had the worst secondary in Superbowl history. Knowing this apparently great or good coaching is another way. The Cowboys down through the years are second only to the Steelers in Super-Bowl wins, and it seems they’re going to try the Steelers’ way this year. Great coaching, because they had a

A couple of them should not have been in the league period! Rob Ryan, the brother of Rex Ryan head coach of the new york Jets and son of Buddy Ryan, former defensive coordinator for arguably the best defense ever; the ‘85 Bears will try to coordinate this defense into respectability, and if he does he should get a head coaching job immediately.

He accepted the call to Pastor the St. Luke Baptist Church in Houston, Texas in December of 2002. He currently serves as Pastor of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas . Dr. Obie L. Davis was born in Tyler, Texas to the parentage of the late Mrs. Evie Cox and Mr. obie Davis, and raised in Dallas, attending C.F. Carr and George Washington Carver Elementary Schools. He was called by God to preach the Gospel in April of 1979, and preached his Dr. Obie L Davis first sermon on June 17, 1979. He attended Southern Bible Institute, where after four years he graduated in 1984. In 1986 he was ordained for service under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J.J. Raven, Pastor of the Greater Progressive Baptist Church. Dr. Davis served faithfully under Pastor Raven’s leadership and in August of 1988, being led by the Holy Spirit, he organized the Safe Way Baptist Church of Duncanville, Texas. Rev. Davis obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Vision International university. In 2003, Rev. Davis received his Doctorate degree.
Rev. D.W. Dewberry, Sr. serves as Pastor of the
Good Tree Missionary Baptist Church in the oak Cliff area of Dallas for the past 17 years. Pastor Dewberry is a native of Elm Grove, Louisiana. He moved to Dallas in 1978 where he became a member of the Rev. D. W. Dewberry, Sr St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. o.G. Mayes. It was under the leadership of Pastor Mayes that Pastor Dewberry accepted his calling into the Gospel ministry in April of 1983. Pastor Dewberry served faithfully under Pastor Mayes’ leadership for ten years until God commissioned him to organize his own church. on the 1st Sunday in June of 1993, he organized the Good Tree Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to being the pastor of the Good Tree Missionary Baptist Church, he serves as the 1st Vice Moderator of the Greater Bethesda Baptist District Association.
Pastor Johnny A. McGee is a native of Benton, Louisiana and a graduate of C.H. Irion High School in Benton, Louisiana. In 1964 Pastor McGee accepted the divine call into the ministry. In 1967 he was ordained into the ministry by page 9
