The Radio Community Mourns the Loss of Lynwood Henderson By Lola Searcy

T
he radio community is saddened by the news of the death of Mr. linwood Henderson. to many of our readers, he is most commonly known as Cuzzin’ linnie; the former Disc Jockey and radio personality who many credit with breaking the color barrier in Dallas – ft. worth radio in the 1960’s. He had a style that was defined as innovative and unique, because of the way he communicated on the radio. Mr. Henderson started his career in the late ‘50’s with Jimmy Jones on KPrs radio out of Kansas City, Missouri. it was during that time that the great sam Cooke nicknamed him, “the Cuz”. Cuzzin’ linnie was hired by Gordon McClendon at time when racial tension was still very prevalent in the city of Dallas and in the state of texas. Cuzzin’ linnie was able to cross racial lines with the music he played. He played music that people, “all people” enjoyed, regardless of race, color or creed. He style was similar to that of the late DJ wolfman Jack, and some

Casey anthony found not guilty on murder charges, but charged with four counts of giving false information to law enforcement officers. and to further add to this madness, she may not serve any more time, based on the time she has already served. the Casey anthony trial is being compared to the 1995 O.J. simpson trial. this was not O.J. simpson’s trial all over again, but thousands watched daily as the anthony trial unfolded, just as they did during the simpson trial. and, as the verdict was read, the media canvassed several audiences to
