Women and the election
FOUNDING THOUGHTS
By William “Bill Blair Elite News Founder
God Does Not Like Ugly! The recent weather at the Republican N a t i o n a l Convention in Florida should alert members of the grand old party that God does not ugly. President Barack Obama The Republicans had to shorten the length of their convention and tell speakers to cut their speeches in half. Now, they will get a little bump from the convention and continue to march towards certain defeat on the national level as Mitt Romney challenges President Barack Obama. The Republicans have denied the existence of global warming while most weather experts have said that it is a reality. Perhaps the weather experienced by them in Florida will be a wakeup call to some of them who are still running away from the facts about climate control and the conduct of human beings. The real storm has yet to come. Just wait until the real facts are known about the Romney/Ryan ticket. They want to eliminate Medicare as we know it and replace it with a voucher system that will be run by the same type of people who helped Romney run the Bain Capital; the company he helped to build that ruined the financial lives of many hard working men and women across this country. The fact of the matter is that most people do not believe a single word that comes out of the mouth of Milt Romney. He once supported rights for people of alternative sexual preferences. Now, he says that he is against that position. He also says that he does not believe in a federally mandated medical system that covers most of our citizens. Yet, while he was the Governor of Massachusetts he signed legislation that provided health care for all of that state’s residents. Even members of the Republican Party have questioned Romney’s ability to tell the truth. They called him a flip flopper who was opposed to telling the truth. Many news commentators have characterized Romney as a politician who will say anything to get elected. That is unfortunate, not only for Romney but for the country itself. He tells the Tea Party that he drinks tea and he tells coffee drinkers that he is a fan of their brew. Will the real Mitt Romney please stand up! Well, the truth of the matter is that having the real Romney standing up is a real problem. There is no real Romney. There is a fake, plastic, unrealistic man who has wanted to be President all of his life. While it has been his dream for a number of years it will not happen this time! Just keep watching! Did you ever wonder what the safest place in the world is? A Fallout Shelter? A Bank Vault? A Bomb Shelter? Perhaps a prison surrounded by an army? Well, we can find the answer in Psalms 91. According to Psalms 91, the safest pace in the world a shadow. In particles it must be the shadow of the Almighty. In verse 1 “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almightyâ€? and in verse 4,â€?He shall cover you with his Feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.â€? According to Hebrews 10, we have an open invitation to come right into the presence of God and dwell in the secret place – under His wings. And remember when the shadow is God you are in the will of God, and that is a safe place to be.

Toliver’s Talents
By Mark A. Toliver II
High School Football Preview Dallas-Fort Worth are you ready for some FOOTBALL? The 2012 season is just around the corner, and it's going to be a good one! The metroplex is full of talent and that talent is well represented in several national and state rankings. Let's start with the surrounding cities and work our way: LANCASTER - Coach Gilbert will alternate players Nick Harvey(336 passing,5 TD, 4 INTs) and senior Demarcus Ayers (4TD passes, 6 TD catches) at QB and WR and both will play DB Daeshon Hall will play both TE and DE(60 tackles and 11 sacks. Other standouts included DB Dakota Austin, DE/OT George Ramos, and RB Joseph Paden WR Nick Alexander. WAXAHACHIEfinished last season 9-3 and was codistrict 15-4A Champs. The Indians return 7 players who receieved first or second team alldistrict honors last year.WR Terrance Hawkins (48 catches,890 yards 9 TDs) Quinn Sargent(594 receiving yards,7TDs ) Quin Sargent (484 receiving yards 2TDs) these guys can get up and down the field very well.QB is the big question. No returning player completed a pass on varsity last year. Interior line should be solid C Jacob Aquilar and G Gennard Johnson make a setting duo.CEDAR HILL-Finished tied for first In District 5-5A . Cedar Hill returns 9 starters on offense and 4 on defense. Cedar Hill is loaded with talent and have several D-1 prospects. Laquvionte Gozalez and Quincy Adeboyejon have both committed to Texas A& M Brandon Harris is a very talented received that completed the depth at the wide out position.
RB Jared Rayford will carry the load this year. H-Back Travis Wilson and QB Damion Hobbs make Cedar Hill very dangerous on the offensive side of the ball. DESOTO- returns 8 started on offense and 2 on defense. Those 8 help build one of the most explosive offensive units of last season(46.8 points per game) QB Desomd White (730 passing yards, 714 rushing yards 9 total TD) Dontre Wilson 767 rushing yards 15 TDs and 246 recieving yards 5 TD) WR Rickey Daniels (548 recieving yards, 3 TDs) On Defense Taylor Young is a big time hitter(82 solo tackle) and one of the best linebackers since (Jesse Armstead) Safety Nick Orr (41 Tackles 3 int) KIMBALL- finished 9-3 last year and made the playoffs.Teriyon Gipson (933 yards 12 TDs) Prentaviois Morehead (761 receiving yards 11 TDs) DL Justin Manning should be named to the Blue Chip list this year and one of the big reasons why the knights could surprise a lot of folks.MADISON - returns 11 starters from a team that was undefeated in district play. The Trojans were faster last year and the are faster this year. Madison's has great coaching and a great offensive game plan. This could be the year for the green and gold.SKYLINE- finished 2011 14-1 QB Devante Kincade is a 6-0 175 double threat athlete who passed for 3,270 yards and 38 TDs and rushed for 857 yards and 17 TDs. WR Ra'Shaad Samples a speedster with great hands and great speed (65 receptions for 1,369 yards and 19 TDs) defense is really strong this season for the Raiders DL Kerrick Huggins and Roderick Moore will be a problem fo running back and quarterbacks. DB Will Barrow is cat quick and great in the secondary and Cedric Collins is just as good. Skyline has great talent at every position but linebacker could be aJuly small issue. This could be the year we see the Metroplex get a State Championship!! But no football game has ever been won on paper, the players still have to play the game!! So Play on Playas, Play On

Gucci Mane at Dallas Erykah Badu Palladium Ballroom or Chuck Berry at the Fort Worth Convention Center? The "So Far Gucci" mixtape is bangin, but how often do you see a legend. Chuck Berry was before R&B. His duck walkin, hard rockin style has been admired by everybody from Elvis to Mos Def! See ya Saturday Night in "Funky Town"! My partner Bloodhound Benny reports from Hollywood that Eddie Murphy is working with the producers of that banana's FX Network cop show "The Shield" to bring "Beverly Hills Cop" to TV as a series. Murphy decided not to make any more movies for the franchise, feeling TV would be the right place for it! I wonder what young actor would play the Axel Foley role? Thanks Benny! Hat's off to Tichina Arnold! We know her as Pam on the TV show Martin. Tichina tied the knot with St. John University mens basketball coach, Rico Hines in Hawaii last week. Prayer's for Terrell Owens. He was cut from the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and some of his baby momma's are already reportedly giving him static about the hefty child support he owes. Good news from the Internet: Bill Cosby is alive and well, despite rampant rumors that he went to comedy heaven on the net this week. Tyler Perry studios in Atlanta are fine, despite another fire. This time the cause was a careless smoker, which caused a couple hundred thousand dollars damage. Finally the comedy that was the Republican Nation Convention has come to a close...You may have heard about the delegate that threw nuts at an African American CNN camerawoman and proclaimed,"This is how we feed the animals" or noticed the same black people over and over in camera shots? Bet they were tired, as replacements were obviously not available, lol! God Bless America and the Democratic National Convention which runs Tuesday Sept. 4th thru the 6th in Charlotte North Carolina! I'd get there a day earlier for Carolina Fest, the family friendly Labor Day celebration in Uptown Charlotte, if I was rollin that way. Happy Birthday to You and Celebs this week: Dr. Phil 62, David "Hutch of Starsky and Hutch" Soul 66, Peggy "Mod Squad" Lipton 65, Pee Wee Herman 60, Gloria Estefan 55, Branford Marsalis 52, Chris Tucker 40 and Michael Jackson should have been 54 on Wednesday! Follow me on Twitter @smokinkevan and Facebook at Kevan Gointonegril Browning! Thanks for Rollin With A Brotha in the Elite News.
The roof is expected to implode and the floor is expected to shatter as one of the greatest gospel competitions in the country takes place at the Verizon
Theater in Grand Prairie on September 6 at 7.30 p.m. Six of the Dallas area’s leading gospel choirs will take place in the songfest that is being sponsored by Verizon Wireless, the telecommunications company which has been sponsoring the talent showcase, called How Sweet the Sound, for the past five years. Some of the world’s leading gospel musical talents will be among the judges that will crown the King of gospel music that night. “Bring your best,” said CeCe Winans, one of the judges. “Excellence is what we will be looking for and it is what God deserves.” Winans will be joined in judging the event by Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker and Donald Lawrence. The legendary Fred Hammond will also participate in the program, according to Linda Stewart, the press representative for the competition. The local groups that will in competition are Marquinn Middleton & the Miracle Chorale, Carnel Davis & Incorporated to Praise, St. Mark Sanctuary Choir, St. John Church Music
Ministry and God’s Tabernacle of Deliverance and Selah. The winner of the local completion will compete against winners of similar events held in cities across the country such as Atlanta, Washington, Newark and Detroit. “Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound Gospel Celebration pays tribute to gospel music and provides choirs a platform to showcase their talent,” Stewart said. Verizon is presenting $200,000 in prize money. “Verizon is pleased to once again bring this dynamic program to the community,” said Marquett Smith, vice president of corporate communications and community relations for the media magnate. “It allows us to connect with our customers and celebrate the impact that local church choirs and gospel music have on the community.” Ticket information can be obtained at w w w. a x s . c o m , o r b y c a l l i n g 888-929-7849. Tickets can also be purchased at the Verizon box office, Stewart said.

Words of Wisdom By Geraldine Davidson- Hooker
In April 2011, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting'. Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day... like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first? The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!?? Maya Angelou said this: I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better

tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/ she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as 'making a life'. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
