Behind The Wheel With THE KING (Arthur Prayther)
TOYOTA PRIUS 4-DOOR My time truly flies when you are having fun. As we told you back in 2000 when we test drove the first U.S. Prius, this vehicle would change the course of the auto industry. Well it has as the hybrid models have reached sales of over four million units and still growing day by day. Clearly Toyota has taken the lead when it comes to Hybrid automobiles and the Prius leads the way. Going back to 2000 when Toyota made several Prius models available to the media but at that time those were 1997 models that had already been proven and tested. It wasn’t long before governmental agencies started using this economically sound product for their fleets and then moved into the private sector and on into the general population. Without a
doubt the Prius we tested the other week is clearly one of the world’s best buys coming in at just under $33,000. Under the hood is a 1.8 liter DOHC 16 valve-VVTi In-line four cylinder engine with EV/ECO Power modes. This Hybrid Synergy Drive System creates 50 miles per gallon and saves an estimate of more than $7,000 in fuel cost over a five year period. Let me assure you this is fact because due so many hybrids we’ve tested in the past three months we have yet to add fuel during our week long test runs. Let us not forget there is more to this than what you hear in the radio ads or see on TV ads. Fact is the Prius is just as well built as any other Toyota product line
as well as just as safe. To begin with the Prius comes with an overall rating of Five-Star from the NHTSA. Frontal crash driver side Five-Star and front passenger 4-Star while side crashes have 5-Star ratings for both front and rear passengers and a rollover rating of Four-Star. Power transforms to the pavement on 15 inch alloy wheels with covers and P 195/65R 15 steel-belted tires. Electric power steering provides smooth handling and four-wheel disc brakes stops this baby very swiftly and smoothly. The front independent suspension adds to some nifty handling also. On the outside you can see the Prius is neat and sporty with a rear spoiler, blue accent car badges and color keyed power heated and fold down outside mirrors. Please don’t let all the safety features and economic numbers fool you this is still a good looking automobile as well. Once you are inside you’ll find a well thought out interior layout with push button start and touch tracer display with multi-func-
tion display with trip info and audio with navigational as well as an outstanding sound system. The JBL system comes equipped with a 6.1 inch touch screen with backup camera AM/FM/CD with MP3/WMA and 8-speakers complete with a 90-day free trial of SXM radio, HD radio and USB ports as well as blue tooth connect ability. The driver will be pleased to find a power/lumbar seat with tilt/telescopic steering wheel

with controls. A center armrest with two cup holders and an overhead storage compartment and power outlets along with dual compartment glove box rounds out the some of the interior comforts. Plus the rear seats fold down with a 60/40 split adding to what is already one of the tops in class interior. Well as we told you 12 years ago the automobile of the future is here today!

KIA RIO EX 5-DOOR PROVIDES QUALITY AT 18 GRAND By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View It’s been several years since Korean International Auto-manufacturer (KIA) started marketing automobiles in the United States. We will be the first to say they have come a very long ways. Fact is the new KIA Rio EX 5-door we tested the other day has some pretty good quality and priced at just over $18,000. To start with its powered by a 1.6 Liter gas direct injection four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with active eco system, A electric power steering
provides quality handling and 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers gives it a pretty good look.
In days where buyers are looking to save every cent on their automobile purchase, the KIA Rio easily fits most budgets.
Our test vehicle came in a bright signal Red/Beige and a good color scheme to say the least. But back to the economic value of the product 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway is what people want to hear about.
Safety is a quality also found in the new KIA Rio with dual front advanced air bags and font seat mounted side air bags and a full-length side curtain air bags to name a couple. Anti-locking brakes and traction control with electronic stability control, Hill assist control and vehicle stability management helps to round out the safety features for the Rio.
Let us not forget that 90% of this vehicle parts come from Korea and the final assembly point is Korea so is the engine and transmission.
KIA Rio EX are outside mirrors with turn signal indicators and they actually are heated-power fold down mirror. The vehicle also comes with a soft touch dash and rear camera display to
name just a couple. In closing we feel this product is well put together and those who are in the market should give it a good look.
Sounds come from a standard AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with Sirius satellite radio with three-month subscription. There is a USB port and auxiliary input jacks. Bluetooth wireless technology also is an available standard. When it comes to warranties the KIA Rio is in the head of the class with a 10-year/100,000 miles limited power train warranty and five-year/60,000 miles, plus five-year/60,000 mile roadside assistance please ask your local dealer for details. PRIUS C JUST RIGHT FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View As the summer hits full swing first year college students will be shopping for a vehicle that hauls all their stuff and still gets good economic numbers. We think Toyota Prius C is just what the doctor ordered for these students. To begin with the Prius C is equipped with a 1.5 Aluminum 16-valve VVT-I inline four cylinder engine. This generates 50 miles per gallon and the power hits the ground on 15 inch steel wheels with covers and P175/65R 15 inch tires. Ventilated front disc and rear drum brakes teamed with elec-
tric power steering makes the Prius C a good quality handling vehicle. Safety consists of the Star Safety System with VSC, Trac, ABS with electric brake distribution as well as brake assist and smart stop technology. With driver and front passenger air bags mounted in the side of the front seats, this vehicle even had knee air bags and front and rear side curtain air bags. Keep in mind these are more commonly found in more expensive luxury touring sedans. Please don’t forget this Prius C we tested came in at just over $23,000. We are talk-
ing about a steal to say the least.
seats.
One of younger buyers concern is the sound system. Well the new Prius C has a six-speaker SXM radio with 90-day free trial and as a 6.1 inch touch screen with AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA and HD radio with I-tunes tagging along with E-tune and audio with navigational system as well. Other along these lines is USB, Bluetooth and advanced voice recognition.
This 2WD five door HB is just about as good as a first year stu-
dent could expect and we want to remind parent to take a look at this model before they make their investment.
The driver is greeted by a sixway power seat and that twotown fabric gets your attention along with 60/40 rear fold down

VETERAN OF THE WEEK: BENNY (MWD) By John Engel A King-Size View Benny B-163 arcotics Detection and Partol September 11, 1997 – January 3, 2010 In October 2007, Benny was declared "excess". When I came upon the November 29th entry in his file, the handwritten entry read:
plans were made to destroy him. Debbie’s adoption of Benny was the beginning of the Military Working Dog Adoptions organization. Through this group an individual or family can adopt a retired hero and give them a loving home for life. Benny visited wounded veterans and gave them love and hope. He lived his senior years in a loving home with his new
friend, Simba, the family cat, who was unsure of Benny on his first night but decided to welcome him anyway and they often slept together. Little is recorded about his active duty career but it is known that Benny spent long hours searching for drugs which caused bone degeneration. This, coupled with sleeping on a hard concreted kennel floor caused discomfort and pain. Benny
never complained and even healed to a point after being allowed to sleep on soft pillows in the comfort of his new home. In death, Benny will be remembered by the many whose lives he touched. Both as a working animal in the front lines of a war zone in the Mid-East, a beloved family pet and a therapy dog that loved to be around soldiers, Benny is a true hero.
"Euthanasia and Necropsy to be scheduled for December 2007 or January 2008" The above are journal entries from Benny’s medical records. After faithfully serving his country for ten years our government decided that he was no longer of any value and decided to dispose of him as they would a worn tire or broken rifle. This huge German Shepherd never volunteered for the life he was trained to live. He went and proudly served our nation. Thanks to the efforts of Mike and Debbie Kandoll, Benny was allowed to live his remaining years as a useful citizen and beloved companion. During his active duty, Benny was B-163 for the records. It is the number that was tattooed in his left ear identifying him as a MWD. When he became no longer useful to the military
A KING-SIZE MOVER AND SHAKER: MS. LISA LEWIS By Dr. Victor Keys A King-Size View Our King-Size Mover and Shaker for the month of June is Ms. Lisa Lewis. Ms. Lewis and I met a few years ago and little did I know that I was in the midst of such a dynamic woman. She not only works well with children and young adults, she is also a very talented singer. Ms. Lewis started out singing in her church’s choir over thirty years ago. She was also a member of Carter G. Woodson Junior High School’s choir and made a tremendous impact as a singer and songwriter for her high school choir. During my interview with Ms. Lewis, I learned a lot about her and of all the things I learned; her love for singing Gospel Music stood out
the most. She has the ability to take the center stage during a performance; she has a wide range of pitch and sings extremely well in the studio. Ms. Lewis stated that she recently performed for the Juneteenth Celebration at Emancipation Park. She added that “the reviews were wonderful” and they have asked her to return next year. Ms. Lewis also informed me that she has over 5 years of experience in recording and producing Gospel music. She released her first album entitled “God Said I Could” in 2007. Her second album, “I am Loved” will be released in the fall of 2012. Thanks to Ms. Lewis’ beautiful voice, Gospel music will continue to live on and be appreciated by millions.

Out and About with John Engel MILITARY WORKING DOGS 4500 brave servants went into battle in Vietnam. Less than 200 returned. They showed us love and loyalty. They saved countless lives. They lived with dignity and grace. They served with valor and bravery. They were soldiers and they were dogs. Yes, I am talking about Military Working Dogs (MWD). Those that did not come home were disposed of in a humane manner, but were never given the chance to live a civilian life. Dogs have been used in our military since World War II. They served many functions over the years. During our current conflict, MWDs have saved hundreds of lives by alerting our soldiers to the threat of hidden explosives. They have help recover the remains of our fallen and locate the living in the rubble that follows bomb blasts. In return, our government decides that after their purpose is served they can be disposed of as you would a broken truck transmission. In 2008 Mike and Debbie Kandoll located Benny, Service number B-163, at Langley Air Force Base. It took over 20 calls to find the correct people to allow Benny to become a civilian pet. The usual procedure is to euthanize the animal if a proper home cannot be located within one to three months. Debbie used this experience to found the Military Working Dogs Adoption organization. Through her group, she matched suitable animals that have been screened by trained professionals to the home that will become the dog’s Forever Home. These
changes were made through a combined effort of our military, politicians and concerned Americans. The life of a MWD is not easy. They train for months, living in a cement floored kennel. They live with their handlers 24 hours a day and are never allowed to play or have fun. The sniff for drugs or bombs and are often the target of snipers. Many come home with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and can never be placed. Some are very afraid of loud noises that remind them of weapons fire. In return, for many years they were destroyed when they were done serving. In fact, for years it was considered an “UNAUTHORIZED USE OF GOVERNMENT ASSETTS” to transport an animal back to the states after they were done serving. In addition to placing MWDs, Kandoll places registered service dogs. For example, Suzy is trained to be a service dog to help her master deal with the trauma he suffered from the war. She wears a service dog vest and is allowed anywhere her master is allowed. Working with the Wounded Warrior Project these animals can make the lives of the people they serve much better. Most, like Suzy, are shelter
recluses that would otherwise be put to sleep. They are living their lives serving others while spending their time in a warm loving home. Suzy came from the Animal Service Center of Mesilla Valley in California. The shelter, in addition to screening and donating the dog, provided spaying, micro chipping, medical evaluation and shots for the dog.
Page 5
pet, and therefore loses its MWD status," she explained. "So it would be fraud, waste and abuse for the DOD to transport that pet." This error can be corrected by calling or writing your congressman or Representative and asking him to support legislation to overturn this policy (see attached sidebar).
If you are interested in adopting one of these heroes, you can contact the organization through their web site at: http://www.militaryworkingdogadoptions.com. There you can also read stories about the brave dogs and donate money to further the cause.

“Equipment” to “MWD Troop/Soldier”. This change is necessary in order to undergird the reclassification of a RETIRI G MWD from the current “Excess Equipment” to “MWD Veteran” or “Military K9 Veteran”.
On November 6, 2000 HR 5314 was passed by the House of Representatives that allow retired military animals to be adopted by former handlers, law enforcement agencies and other individuals. This was the beginning of the changes that allow us to preserve these brave dogs that served us so well. Unfortunately this bill has a flaw. There is no clause to provide transportation from overseas to a U. S. based military facility. As it now stands, retired OCONUS (OVERSEAS) MWDs must be transported at adoptive owner’s expense as a “pet”! In an August 28, 2009, article, Air Force Major General Mary Kay Hertog clarified why adopters must bear the brunt of transport for adopted dogs returning from overseas. "Once that dog is adopted, it becomes a Military Working Dog Adoptions/US War Dogs Proposed Amendment to the MWD Adoption Bill HR5314 We are asking the Congress to pass the following amendment to HR 5314: MWD Transport, Reclassification and Recognition Amendment to HR 5314 RETIRI G MWD TRA SPORT 1. Experts estimate that the average MWD saves 150 soldier lives during his tenure of service. This is a LAUDABLE FEAT which should be recognized in an OFFICIAL CAPACITY.) CARL WILLIAMS GOES FROM ORIGINAL GANGSTER TO ONE GOD AND IS TURNING HIS LIFE AROUND By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Dallas, Texas-After spending most of his adult life in and out of prison, Carl Williams is making a transformation into a productive person these days. Williams grew up in the south side of Dallas and admits he lived a life of crime and he is extremely grateful that he actually lived to tell his story. Williams said he has been a bad character but God has transformed him from the ‘Original Gangster’ he used to be into a server of One God and that way he can keep his stage name of O G. “All I want to do is let people know I have been set free and I’m focusing on doing whatever it takes to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. Williams thanks God for his transformation and says he is truly a witness of what the power of God can do for a person.
Now known as Brother O G, Williams is currently working on his music career as a Gospel Rap Artist under the direction of the legendary group Yarbrough and People who had a big hit “Juicy” a few years ago. His first CD called “I’ll Follow Him” is on the way and the single “Ain’t Nobody Mad But The Devil” is already out. He also has “This Little Light of Mine” on CD and both are outstanding gospel rap songs. In February of 2011 Williams
joined Lifeway Church of Dallas under the leadership of Dr. Karen Hollie-Thibodeaux who is the senior pastor. Keeping his passion for working with youth who are interested in music, Williams has found a home here. Working hand and hand with Sister Tanya Anderson of Lifeway Church where they have a youth ministry, he’s also working on a foundation called “I am Somebody”. The idea is to show children they can be what they want to be through Jesus Christ.
Williams dreams of being able to minister to people of all ages and make them aware of the consequences of making poor choices in life. “I want them to live for Christ and not for man and to always do what’s right”.
special events. Williams is doing whatever he can to stress the importance of keeping their record clean to young people!
Keeping his golf game sharp and his mind working hard as he socializes with prominent pastors and surrounding himself with positive people, Williams is all over the Metroplex performing at youth explosions and church events as well as other

LADY LOTION HAS OUTSTANDING MOTION ON THE BLUES STAGE By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Dallas, Texas-Born in Dallas, Dorinda Walker was destined to be a star. Starting out at the tender age of five years old Walker sang before a crowd of 200 people but to her it was like 2,000 but it got her ready. Taking a page from her mother (Betty Jean Mills) who never sang professional but her step father Oscar Mills was a deejay and played in a band. Music gospel and blues were all around Walker as she grew-up in the East and later in Oak Cliff areas of Dallas, Texas. Crediting her mother for putting on red, blue and green lights and those pole lamps in their living room, gave them the club feeling. Playing the sounds of the late Big Mama Thornton “Hound Dog” set the tone for Lady Lotion. While in high school Dorinda would sing in talent shows and her sister Jav-Lyn went on to start singing blues while she continues to sing gospel. “People use to tease our mother saying she had one of the devil’s side and one on the side of the Good Lord”. As time went on Lady Lotion would start to get on stage with her sister at the clubs but wasn’t ready for a lead role in the industry yet. But in 1984 she started out and used what she had learned over the years and people loved her. Two years later she got it going well when she was performing at a
Fort Worth club she didn’t feel the crowd was into what she was doing “I have to get a feel for the crowd and that’s the way I operate”. With thoughts of giving up the blues her road manager advised her to give it one more shot. It was then when she started singing Johnnie Taylor’s big hit Steal-Away while the owner and her boyfriend were sitting near the stage. She took a bottle of lotion and asked to barrow the owners boyfriend and she proceeded to rub lotion all over him and the crowd went wild after that they started calling her Lady Lotion. After starting out as Miss International because of the acts she had been on stage with in the area. She had gotten clearance from the owner so there were no hard
feelings. Some 11 years later in 1997 Lotion went to Europe and Finland and she did both blues and gospel over there. They even interviewed her over there but she never got it interpreted. Lotion likes to get a feel for the crowd and she wants people to follow her and get into a grove. “It’s really no different because people want to hear good singing and over the years I’ve continued to sing both”. Lotion has worked with Howard Branch, R.L. Griffin, Mel Waiters, Denise LaSalle and Ernie Johnson to name a few. We had the pleasure of seeing Lady Lotion perform as one of the guest stars at Ernie
Johnson’s birthday party back in April 2012. Faced with a near death situation in 2001 Lady Lotion, who works as a security guard, found new meaning to be thankful. On Scyene road in East Dallas a speeding automobile became airborne and crashed into the vehicle Lotion was driving and she thought it was the end. “My ears popped and I said Thank God I’m still alive. They had to extract her from the automobile with crowbar and she was rushed to the hospital. Both the occupants of the other vehicle died. People were looking into my car and I would read their lips when they said “That’s Lady Lotion”. Many well wishers called her up while in the hospital; it just floored her to know
that many people she didn’t know cared about her. “I just keep going sometimes it’s easier than it is other times but the Lord has blessed me”. Teaming up with Jav-Lyn and Chonita Turner to record a live Texas Blues Women CD, Lotion is still going strong. But now that she’s working more we look forward to seeing Lady Lotion perform. For those of you who have yet to see her on stage you don’t know what you are missing!

ZEPHANIAH COLEMAN INTRODUCES RAP SONG TO GET PEOPLE READY TO VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Reminding me of a fellow I knew back in the day Ronnie Coleman’s son Zephaniah Coleman has introduced a rap song “Go and Vote” to help create interest in getting people involved in the political process. The 22-year old business management major at Prairie View A & M University got help from his Mom (Julia Coleman) and his sister Franquetteas they put
the words together. It just goes to show how much Ronnie and Julia Coleman have done to get their children ready for the tough challenging world we now live in. Their children now have a set of books and book works and each time you purchase one of them half of the funds go toward funding for the efforts in getting voters to the polls. No doubt Barack Obama is their choice. Zephaniah explained to a KCOH AM 1430
radio audience on two weeks ago with Tommy D. Armstrong. “I feel Barack Obama is my President and it’s my duty to help him get back in office so he and finish the job he has started. “My family and I will do all we can to help that become a reality”. Young Coleman went on to say their goal is to actually travel to some of the swing states and register voters so they can go and pull the level to give the President another 4 years.
We will be following this very closely as the election draws near. To hear the song simply log-on to www.youtube.com and search for ‘goandvotesong2012’

COLEMAN FAMILY HAVING POSITIVE IMPACT By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Former Houston Oiler Running back Ronnie Coleman has always been a big part of our community. That’s still true today long after his 8th year NFL career ended in 1981. Coleman came to the Oilers from Alabama A & M University or College as it was called at the time in 1974. He would go on to have 700 career carries for 2,769 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. A quality
receiver out of the back field Coleman had 150 career catches for 1239 yards and six touchdowns. In his second year he was part of the Oiler team that turned the franchise around and headed it in the right direction. Three years later the Oilers drafted the Heisman Trophy winner from UT a fellow by the name of Earl Campbell. A year later with Earl Campbell nursing some badly bruised ribs Coleman made the big catch over the middle as the Oilers
beat San Diego and the great Dan Fouts as Bubba McDowell picked him off 4 times. Coleman best year coming in 1975 when he had 790 yards rushing and scored 5 times and was always a great team player. Now days after working at several high schools as teacher and coach, Coleman and his lovely wife Julia are operating their ministry (Universal Pendulum Salvation Ministries) and helping others is what they focus on.
The Coleman family left to right Zephaniah Coleman, Franquette Coleman, Mrs. Julia Coleman and Ronnie Coleman guess with Tommy D. Armstrong on KCOH AM 1430 on Just Us Saturdays
During the Hurricane Katrina days their ministries helped to receive and donate more than 150 THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF CLOTHING, SHOES, and MATTRESSES AND OTHER NEEDY ITEMS TO THOSE WHO LOST IT ALL IN THE STORM. After years as an airline stewardess Julia now spends her time in the friendly skies helping people across the world as indicated by her recent trip to Africa. That’s what it’s about for the Coleman
family and all indications are it always will be. The multi-talented family recently teamed up to write a song “Go and Vote to help get people involved in the Presidential re-election of Barack Obama. CYPRESS RANCH MUSTANGS GALLOPS TO CLASS 5A STATE TITLE By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Round Rock, Texas-Before a crowd of more than 3,800 fans the Mustangs of Cypress Ranch won the Class 5A title with a 4-1 victory over A & M Consolidated. The baseball title came in only the third season for Coach John Pope and his Mustangs. Scoring two runs in the first inning and getting one more in the second on a solo shot by Corbin Martin and the sixth inning an insurance run was added. Zach Brosch scattered four hits and one run in 5.2 innings pitched and got the win while Jonathan Whitley tossed 20 balls and got four batters out to seal the deal. Others notables were the diving catch made by Corbin Martin as one of his four put outs and led to his getting the Most Valuable Player. Second baseman Bryce Stark caught the throw from Martin tagged out Ethan Townsend who was off second base then Stark chased Cody Hamilton back toward first, tossed the ball to Derek Dickerson and looked on as the sophomore tagged the runner to end the game. It was then the celebration began. There were plenty of heroics to go around for the Mustangs as Martin made the sacrifice fly to score Dalton Lemoine in the sixth inning after he moved to third
on a balk. Pitcher Zach Brosch had two pick offs and force A & M to play it safe in the later inning. To run down the lineup for the winners Leon Byrd-SS, Bryce Stark-2b, Zach Smith-rf, Derek Dickerson-1b, Justin Monsour3b, Dalton Lemoine-c, Dalton Stark-dh, Corbin Martin-cf, Bryce Johnson-lf, Zach Broschp, and Jonathan Whitley reliever who got the save.
A & M Consolidated reached the finals by beating a good Corpus Christi Carroll High School 2-1 in the semi-final game. It was Cypress Ranch over Arlington Marin 6-0 in the other semifinals game to set up the show down. In Class 4A, Rockwall won over Cleburne 10-1 to take the title. Cleburne beat Lake Travis 9-7 the night before as Rockwall got past Montgomery 6-3 in the other class 4A semi-final game.
The Class 3A title went to Pleasant Grove who beat West 4-0 for the honors. West had beaten Sweeney 10 to 3 while Grove edged Robinson 4-2 in the other class 4A semi-final game. In Class 2A Jarrell whipped Bushland 9-2 after beating Elkhart in 13 innings 3-2 the night before. Bushland edged Brock 1-0 in the other class 2A semi-final game.
The Class A title went to Fayetteville who rolled over Stamford 10-0 and ended in just five innings. But in the semifinal game Fayetteville ease past Price Carlisle 5-4 while Stamford beat Dodge City 4-1 in the other class A game. With this we conclude our 30th year of high school sports coverage. Be sure and go on line at www.kingsizeview.com to see this all a whole lot more!
The Tigers losing pitcher was Ford Moore who had 101 throws at the plate allowing eight hits and four runs in the loss which was his first in 11 starts this year. Moore had eight strike outs and had two walks as he went the distance facing all 27 batters for Cy-Ranch.

HOLLIE SEALS-DALLAS CARTER-UH
STUDENT OF THE WEEK Fort Worth, Texas-While visiting her aunt Hollie Seals and her mother Almeta Seals, we were in the Fort Worth Store number 76 on East Berry Road when we were putting A King-size View newspaper in the store. Her mother struck up a conversation with Dr. Victor Keys and we learned about Hollie and decided to make her our Fiesta Student of the Week. The lovely and talented young lady finished number 10 in her class at David W. Carter High School in the Oak Cliff area of South Dallas. After losing her father (George Seals) a while back, Hollie says her mother took over and kept her on the straight and narrow path.
“Oh I owe everything that I am and will be to my mother because she has taught me right from wrong and followed up on all things in life. I wouldn’t be going to the University of Houston if it were not for her”. With a love for math in the classroom at Carter, Hollie says she wants to get involved with the administration portion of education. “Yes sir teaching would be fine but I want to take a more of a leadership role because I want to be able to give back to the community I grew up in”. When asked if she would change anything in life Hollie quickly
responded by saying she feels her life’s course was set for a reason and she would not change a single thing. “My mom taught me things happen for a reason in life and you must roll with the punches life gives you and make the most of a bad situation when it comes time to do so”.
Dallas ISD more funds to help make our school better overall, but I certainly would recommend Carter to anyone and I’m proud of my school”. Hollie said one of her main goals in life is to work to be in position to give back to the Oak Cliff area because it has done so much for her.
On the subject of Barack Obama becoming the first African American President and the job he is doing she stated “Under the circumstances, I feel he is doing the best he can, people must understand the hand he was dealt”.
On her visit to the University of Houston Hollie said it felt more like home and it’s not that far away and she can stay in close contact with her mother. “She has been there for me all these years and I want to get a quality education and be able to help her along the way”.
We moved on to ask if she would change anything at Dallas Carter if she could, she had a very interesting answer. “No because I feel the administration did the best with what they had to work with, but I do think the state of Texas should’ve given

We want to applaud Mrs. Seals on being a hands on mom and I just know Hollie is going to do well in Houston at the UH and we are glad to have met her!

COACH OF THE WEEK-JOHN POPE CYPRESS RANCH
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK CORBIN MARTIN-CY-RANCH Round Rock, Texas-Center fielder Corbin Martin had one run off one hit and two runs batted in to win the Most Valuable Player at the Dell Diamond helping Cy-Ranch win the Class 5A title 4-1. A & M Consolidated were the runner up as the Mustangs scored twice in the first inning and scattered a run in the second and sixth inning to hang on for the title. The one run shot that Martin tagged in the second was on a fastball inside. “I got a good turn on it and I just started to run then I notice it was going over the fence and man that felt great”. On the defensive side Martin also played a role with four put outs during the game. The key one coming when he looked up and saw the ball coming toward
center field and making the right guess, when he picked up the overthrown ball throwing it, to set up an improbable double play to end the game. “I saw one guy stop and one guy run so I just threw it and we made the play to win the game”. Martin went on to add the defense made the key plays at the right time. He also praised starting pitcher Zach Brosch on pitching a real good game and making some key pick offs before the ball sailed high on him in the 7th innings. “We work hard on our defense two hours a day and it truly paid off for us. Martin closed by saying the Mustangs motto is “Hard Work Pays Off”. That was certainly the case on this day and the Mustangs have a state championship to back it up!
By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Round Rock, Texas-Head Coach John Pope took home the state Class 5A championship after his Mustangs won a 4-1 title game over A & M Consolidated. It was a hard fought win after the Mustangs whipped Arlington Martin 6-0 in the semi-final game the day before. Keep in mind this is only the third year Cy-Ranch has competed on the Class 5A baseball level. This is a true sign that Coach Pope, who is assisted by Kipp Pridgeon, has done a marvelous job of winning it all this time around. They went 32-8 for the season and are Class 5A champs. “It was an exciting game and A & M Consolidated gave us all we wanted and then some”. Pope went on to say his team kept battling until they came out on top. Up 4-1 late in the game the Tigers made their last run but thanks to a high throw, the motions lead to a run down to end the game. Pope joked that’s the way we drew it up. “It simply was a run down and we do work on that and our kids executed beautifully to end the ballgame”.
The Mustangs had already scored twice in the first inning off errors by the Tigers and Coach Pope believes if you put pressure on teams it gives you a better chance to win. “If you strike out that’s the worst thing you can do, but if you ground out the guy has to first field the ball, then make the throw to get you out”. As the coach continued to address the media following the game he made it clear the team that plays good defense has a much better chance to win the game. “If you play good

defense get some good pitching and get some timely hits along the way you have a chance to win ballgames; our kids have played hard on defense all year long”. Putting pressure on your opponent forces them to make plays to beat you is Coach Pope Approach to the game. That’s what happened as the Mustangs galloped to the state title in only their third season of varsity baseball. Congratulation to Coach Pope, his staff and his team for bringing the title back to Houston.

A RISING STAR-CYPRESS RANCH-ZACH BROSCH By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Round Rock, Texas-With a total of 81 balls tossed at the plate Zach Brosch won for the 8th time in as many starts. It was the 32nd win of the season in 40 games for third year program Cy-Ranch. But it was good enough for a 4-1 win over A & M Consolidated to claim the Class 5A baseball championship. Brosch went 5.2
innings allowing four hits and one run with four strike outs after facing 18 batters. Jonathan Whitley came on and got the save with a total of 20 pitches thrown. After Jonathan Whitley’s high throw that sailed into center field and Corbin Martin made a good throw to get the double play started Brosch said “That was just a crazy-happy ending”. Happy it was because the double play gave the Mustangs the last two outs and the Class 5A title. Having only two walks in the game Brosch kept the Tigers batters off balance and did just enough to give his team a chance to win the game. Whitley came in with four batters allowing two hits but no runs and had to throw only 20 balls to get the save.

LEON BYRD-CYPRESS RANCH By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Round Rock, Texas- As you can tell by looking at the dirt on his jersey, shortstop Leon Byrd certainly doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. The outstanding shortstop helped the Mustangs of Cypress Ranch win the Class 5A title with a 32-8 mark. The senior with good glove skills is
headed to Rice University this fall and will join one of the best college baseball programs in the country. The state title game wasn’t one of his best but he still managed to score a run but struck out twice and put out the other two times he was at bat. But Rice is glad to have his services and
you can rest assure this kid is well on his way. Coach John Pope made it clear in the post game interviews he certainly believes in having a good defense. Those of you who know the game of baseball knows the shortstop is the key to good infield play. We are looking forward to seeing this guy at Rice in the coming years and we know he is going to be a great said Jerry Woodley of The College Sports Report!

STUDEWOOD COBRAS OPEN CAMP FOR 37th YEAR By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View The Studewood Cobras opened their camp for the 2012 season and it marked the beginning of their 37th season. They started out in the fall of 1976 as the Charlotte Allen Cobras and later on the Houston Independent School District did not want them to use the school’s name and thus the brain trust of the Cobras went with the neighborhood name and thus the Studewood Cobras were born.
association. At one point the Cobras won on all three levels and had some undefeated seasons. In the early eighties the Cobras received support from King Arthur’s Productions and were featured in the Houston Forward Times Newspaper. That trend continued to our years at KYOK AM 1590, KENR 1070AM, KNTH 1070 AM, Access Houston and the Houston Informer and all the way into the introduction of A King-Size
View. Through the past 10 years the Cobras have also had Fiesta as a cooperate sponsor and are truly keeping things going after all these years. The Penrice families have sent all their children through the program and many have gone on to have great careers in high school and some in college and yes some in the pros. We at King Arthur’s Productions are proud of what the Cobras have meant over the years and look forward to working with them in this their 37th season!
Many thanks go out to the late Bud McCoy and the late Mrs. Oreia Smith and the many others who were there when the Cobras got started. When the Cobras were about four years old, Walter Penrice joined his brother James “Big Daddy Pen” Penrice and formed a team that won seven straight Super Bowls in the Texas Costal Little League

The Way I See It By BIG John Chandler BETTER LATE THAN NEVER I learned a long time ago to wait until the ink is dry before passing the latest gossip to someone else. So when I heard the latest news from the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) I first didn’t believe it. Young athletes have been left alone with adult coaches all over the country. The Sandusky sexual abuse cases shocked people from coast to coast but this is the natural order. No one looked after the safety of adolescents anywhere. It truly was sad to hear how
these incidents occurred over years and no one was willing to speak up for these children. Well finally, the AAU has changed its policies first stating young athletes can no longer be left alone with their coaches and secondly mandatory background checks on all staff including coaches and volunteers. I wondered to myself why this had taken so long to implement these policies. Was the AAU only interested in making a buck instead of teaching young men and women the
true meaning of sports-to win humbly and loose with grace and class, to learn to trust your teammates, listen to your coaches and play by the rules of the game. Texas many years ago didn’t allow athletes to participate in summer league programs. Our athletes weren’t considered to be the best in country. Fast forward to today and Texas athletes by all accounts are the best in the country in all sports. Our high school baseball and softball players are the best in country, basketball has replaced New York as recruiters are actually listing Texas as the best state to find athletes and Texas High School football athletes are wanted by all colleges and universities nation-wide. Our AAU programs have won numerous national titles and our athletes have opportunities that many
older Texas athletes never had. I readily admit the AAU program is good for athletic development, make no mistake about it. But can anyone doubt that a background check for anyone wanting to have access to children should be required? We don’t allow teachers into the classroom without rigorous backgrounds check and remember teaches have access to our children nearly a third of their lives. How could we allow individuals to have access to our young boys and girls on out of state trips during the summer and no one knows who these adults are or what they believe and represent? The former president of the AAU Robert Dodd allegedly engaged in inappropriate acts with young boys. And yet these safety regulations come nearly 30 years later. I can’t understand or give anybody a reasonable explanation regarding these
issues and I’m not going to try to at this time. We must protect the safety of our children at all times. No excuses should be tolerated. Frankly there are no excuses for abuse of children. I have enjoyed high school and youth sports all of my life. I have a deep respect for adult coaches and volunteers that work with our young athletes. It is a very difficult job but it is rewarding. These new rules are needed because we live in a different time and era. We can’t close our eyes to the truth. There are some sick people among us that will hurt our loved ones. We must get involved and see to it that these crimes be punished to the full extent of the law. One bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole bunch, but will if not removed! That’s just the way I see it!

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot; the law that was given to the children of Israel, by God through Moses:
Exod 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. 26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake. 27 And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake. (KJV) Lev 24:15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death. 17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. 18 And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. 19 And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; 20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. 21 And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. 22 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God. 23 And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses. Deut 19:19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you. 20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you. 21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for
foot. (KJV)

Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.(KJV) Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, 16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. 17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 18 For there is verily a (1)disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and (2)unprofitableness thereof. 19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.(KJV) Definitions:(1)Disannulling115 athetesis (ath-et’-ay-sis); from 114; cancellation (literally or figuratively): KJV— disannulling, put away, rejection……(2)Unprofitableness512 anopheles-unprofitable, useless Heb 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.(KJV) Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.(KJV) Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.(KJV) As one striving to be a Christian (Follower of Christ), the name Christian supersedes anything else that one is. This also binds one to follow the example of Christ, and those that followed him, when he stated “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34) (Acts 7:60). Striving to be a
Christian, the bride of Christ (John 3:29-30) (2 Cor.11:2) (Rom.7:4) (Eph.5:23), also binds one to the Law of Christ, (Gal.6:2; which is found in the Apostles’ doctrine, which is in the New Testament Scripture). When reading Luke 6:27-37, it teaches us how (“The Children of the highest”) must think and live. So, when someone asks me what do I think about war, I must tell them first as a Christian, my thoughts carry no value: “Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” “1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (KJV)
As one striving to be a child of God; a follower of Christ; through the Apostles’ doctrine and commands, I must hear their words in order to be a believer and a soldier of Christ “John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”; “1 Tim 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:” “2 Tim 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (KJV) True Christians are not of this world (carnal/secular) but are of Christ (spiritual). “Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” “Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” “2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” “I Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” Neither is our warfare of this world (carnal/secular), it is a (spiritual) one: “2 Cor 10:1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: 2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself
think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.”
Those striving to be Christians, must understand the will of the Lord to be right (righteous) with God: “Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” (KJV) John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.(KJV) Matt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.(KJV) Matt 17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.(KJV) Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.(KJV) John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.(KJV)
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.(KJV) Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (KJV) James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 2 Pet 1:16 For we have not followed (1)cunningly devised (2)fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a
voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.(KJV)
Definitions:(1)cunningly devised-4679 sophizo (sof-id’zo); from 4680; to render wise; in a sinister acceptation, to form “sophisms”, i.e. continue plausible error, (believable error): KJV— cunningly devised, make wise……(2)fables-3454 muthos (moo’-thos);perhaps from the same as 3453 (through the idea of tuition); a tale, i.e. fiction (“myth”), an invention, a falsehood: KJV— fable. 2 Pet 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:(KJV)
Now let’s read the commandments given by Christ: Matt 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye (1)resist not (2)evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, (3) Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that (4)hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(KJV)
Definitions:(1)resist not -436 anthistemi (anth-is’-tay-mee); from 473 and 2476; to stand against, i.e. oppose: KJV— resist, withstand……(2)evil4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros’); from a derivative of 4192; hurtful, i.e. evil vicious, facinorous; neuter (singular) mischief, malice: KJV— bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, malicious, wicked (-ness)….. (3) Love your enemies -25 agapao-1) used of persons: to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly…..(4)hate -2190 echthros-1) hated, odious, hateful 2) hostile, hating, and opposing another 2) a man that is hostile 3) a certain enemy 4) the hostile one Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. (KJV) Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. (KJV) Now let’s read the examples and commandments given by the apostles’ of Jesus Christ to the Church.

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. (KJV)
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.(KJV) Rom 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. (KJV) Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (KJV) 1 Cor 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 1Thes 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. (KJV) 2 Tim 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: 15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words. 16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. (KJV) Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. (KJV) 1 Pet 2:20 For what glory is it,
if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 (1)Who, when he was reviled, (2)reviled not again; (3)when he suffered, (4)he threatened not; but (5)committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (KJV) Definitions:(1)Who, when he was reviled-3058 loidoreo (loydor-eh’-o);from 3060; to reproach, i.e. vilify, to reproach, to rail at, to revile, to heap abuse upon: KJV— revile….(2)reviled not again-486 antiloidoreo (antee-loy-dor-eh’-o);from 473 and 3058; to rail in reply, to revile in turn, to retort railing: KJV— revile again…..(3)when he suffered-3958 pascho (pas’-kho); including the forms (patho (path’-o) and pentho (pen’-tho)), used only in certain tenses for it; apparently a primary verb; to experience a sensation or impression (usually painful): KJV— feel, passion, suffer, vex…..(4)he threatened not546 apeileo-to threaten, menace……(5)but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously-3860 paradidomi (par-adid’-o-mee); from 3844 and 1325; to surrender, i.e yield up, intrust, transmit, 1) to give into the hands (of another) 5) to permit, to allow b) gives itself up, presents itself: KJV— betray, bring forth, cast, commit, deliver (up), give (over, up), hazard, put in prison, recommend. Christians can not even think on SECULAR things and be right with God; let alone be involved in carnal warfare (2Cor.10:1-7), neither in fighting, killing, or even hating anyone, in any manner. Phil 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who (1)mind (2)earthly things.) 20 For our (3)conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV) Definitions:(1)who mind 5426 phroneo (fron-eh’-o); from 5424; to exercise the mind, i.e. entertain or have a sentiment or
opinion; by implication, to be (mentally) disposed (more or less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively, to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience): KJV— set the affection on, (be) care (-ful), (be like-, + be of one, + be of the same, + let this) mind (-ed), regard, savour, think. (2)earthly things1919 epigeios (ep-ig’-i-os); from 1909 and 1093; worldly (physically or morally), existing upon the earth: KJV— earthly, in earth, terrestrial, SECULAR. (3)For our conversation is in heaven-4175 politeuma (pol-it’yoo-mah); from 4176; a community, i.e. (abstractly) citizenship (figuratively): KJV— conversation. 4176 politeuomai (pol-ityoo’-om-ahee); middle voice of a derivative of 4177; to behave as a citizen (figuratively): KJV— let conversation be, live.
Christians are those that have been baptized into the one body, the one church; those that are members of the one faith; those that have put on Christ (Gal.3:27), according to the apostles’ doctrine (Acts2:41-47). We must also remember the name Christian and the instructions for their lifestyle, is found in the Apostles’ Doctrine, which is found only in New Testament Scripture. Christians must follow these instructions circumspectly, to be right (righteous) with God; “Eph 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that (1)ye walk (2)circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Definitions:(1)ye walk-4043 peripateo-to walk: b) Hebrew for, to live 1) to regulate one’s life 2) to conduct oneself 3) to pass one’s life….(2)circumspectly-199 akribos (ak-reeboce’); adverb from the same as 196; exactly, accurately: KJV— circumspectly, diligently, perfect (-ly). An Eye for an Eye? Absolutely not, according to the Lord Jesus Christ and his Apostles’. Those striving to be Christians must remember what manner of spirit they are of, the spirit of Jesus Christ. Please read; Luke 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. (KJV) I Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome
them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.(KJV)
Dear reader, remember the purpose of these articles is to seek the TRUTH according to THE WORD, thereby exposing ERROR, which is false doctrine, for the purpose of saving our souls. We believe this is best
done by definitions and the preponderance of scriptures; which is having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of scripture. Again we believe this allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic. Thanks again for your interest in the WORD of TRUTH; GRACE and SALVATION; John 17:17-21; Acts 20:29-32; James1:21-25. After all it is our MAP to HEAVEN, and away from HELL!
