We test drove the Chevrolet SS Sedan the first Chevy V8 rear-wheel performance Sedan since 1996. Going back to the big Caprice LTZ man it seems like such a long time ago. Equipped with a LS3 6.2 Liter V8 engine that produces 415 horses and 415 pounds per foot of torque. Man this baby scats from 0-6 in about 5 seconds and that bass exhausts sound coming from those chrome tips duals out the back takes you back to the 60s and

DODGE CARAVAN CELEBRATES 30TH YEAR By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View South Houston, Texas-It’s good to see a home grown vehicle reach 30 years of productions. That’s the case with the 2014 Dodge Caravan SXT as we test drive it the other week. Our test vehicle and all its features came in handy as we assisted Bishop Joe Simon’s Community Outreach Programs meeting with Well Fargo. The meet was the discuss the foreclosure properties the Giant Home Mortgage Lender is making available through Churches and Non-profit Organizations for low to moderate income families. A new stylist grille greats you on the new Caravan and the overall sleek look and outstanding interior layout makes you forget you are in a Mini-van. Power for this vehicle is a 3.6 Liter V6 24-valve VVT engine and it’s mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Economically speaking the new Caravan offers 18 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway, and offers a 20-gallon fuel tank. The good thing is we had the opportunity to put six full adults plus all the production equipment and we still had a firm ride

and good pickup as we went to and from the Church where the meeting was held to eat before going to a Church of the Lord and Savior, where George Foreman is the pastor later in the evening. Let me say the Dodge Caravan has came a very long ways over the years. Now it would have to be one of the industry’s leaders when it comes to quality for the price. Fact is fully equipped our test vehicle came in at 32, 475. That wonderful to say the least. Standard features includes power liftgate, both left and right power sliding doors making for easy access in and out of the vehicle. They also have safety features in the event you bump it and the door re-opens automatically. A full compliments of air

bags for this van as well as such features a 4-wheel disc brakes and all the safety features you expect to find on Sports Touring Sedans. Inside the new Caravan you are greeted to a comfortable layout with pass-through center console and clear and easy to read instrument cluster and big driver friendly gauges. The four bucket seats a leather trimmed and armrests for them with the second row fold in floor seats. Steering wheel mounted controls help make the steering give off a more expensive look. The way the front seats are contoured it makes you get that racecar like feeling! Sounds are provided by a 430 CD/DVD/MP3/HDD with 40 GB Hard drive and28 GB avail-

able and navigation plus Sirius Satellite radio to go along with it. The smooth ride is enhanced by 17-inch polished aluminum wheel with Satin Carbon Pockets. With an overall 4-star score from the NHTSA with five stars for both front and rear passengers in side crashes being its high point. Dodge had confidence in this

vehicle by offering a 5year/100,000 mile power train warranty along with 5-year or 100,000 miles Roadside assistance but restrictions do apply. Please ask your local Dealer for details. In closing please allow me to add the Leather Suede Buckets seats with Black/light gray stone interior went well with the Granite Crystal Metallic clear coat exterior finish.

JEEP PATRIOT 4 X4 FINDING A PLACE IN THE MARKET By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Missouri City, Texas- For the 2014 model year the new Jeep Patriot Latitude 4 X 4 is pushing its way into the crowded small SUV market place. Value is high and the price is very competitive and those are two of the items required to make a dent in a big market. With a base price of just under 24 grand and our test vehicle max out at just over 27 Grand we consider it a good solid buy. With brand new overall styling the new Patriot 4 X 4 has an aggressive looking grille and big round head lights that reminds you of the 70s. A big vertical grille goes well with the new wider stance and aggressive side panels. One thing about the Patriot it is 68 per cent from the United States and Canada with the final assembly point being Belvidere, Illinois. The engine is built in the U S while the transmission is built in Mexico. Our test vehicle came in Dark Blue Pearl Coat Exterior paint

with a Dark Slate Gray time and seat colors. Needless to say we were impressed with the color schemes of this model and people at work took notice as well. Power plant is a 2.4 liter In-line 4-cylinder DOHC 16 valve VVT engine mated to a continuously variable transmission with offroad crawl ratio. Among the standard features are supplemental side-curtain front and rear airbags. Just to show how much Jeep stands with this vehicle it has a 5-year/100,000 miles power train limited Warranty and 3year or 36,000 mile basic limited

warranty along with 5-year or 100,000 miles roadside assistance. Such features in Hill start Assist and 4-wheel disc anti-locking brakes with Brake assist and speed control. The safety list is strong with advanced multistage front air bags along with side-curtain front and rear air bags and front seat mounted side air bags along with active headrest restraints. A tire pressure monitoring and stability control with electronic roll Mitigation to round it all out. Inside the new Jeep has a 6.5 inch touch screen display and a 40 GB Hard Drive with 28 GB

available. Uconnect 430 CD/DVD/MP3/HDD with remote USB port, Sirius XM Satellite radio with voice command Bluetooth.

In closing please allow me to add the new Patriot also has folding flat load floor storage and full-length floor console.

The Way I See It By BIG John Chandler SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE I don’t get surprised anymore by the columns I write I submit to the part, but I was somewhat caught off guard when a fan came up to me and said I was right about the attendace at the girls playoff games. Manvel 5A Region III Champion on 2014 deserved more support from all of us. I’m goin to Austin March 1, 2014 to watch Manvel play for the state title if they win their state semi-final on Friday 2-2814. I’m to keep writing about this because these young female athletes deserve the support! I’m glad to know that my columns are reachin the public in such way that people see things differently. As I entered the M.O. Campbell Center in the Aldine Independant School District to attend the Region II 5A and 4A Girls Basketball tournament, I

noticed the same sight I’ve observed for the last twelve months. Where were the fams? I kid you not dear readers...where were the fans!? They were not outside the arena, nor was there a big crowd on the freeways going north to get to the site. Yes this was the annual rodeo parade for Saturday 02/22, but that was completed by noon. Their was plenty of time for fans to load everyone up in the car, SUV or truck to make the trip to Campbell to support these young athletes. But sadly few did. I have thought about this issue for years but never sat down at my computer to type a column about it. This time I had to because it is painful and an outright shame of all of us. These young ladies very hard to play sports. They are not only competing against each other but sadly a mindset that should be out of our minds years ago. There seems to a dead

Yes I know that sounds stupid to print this but yes there are many of us walking around muttering this idiotic thought. Some of us won’t support young women playing sports even if we are related to them. I watched talented athletic young ladies play their hearts out to have the chance to advance to Austin Texas to play for a state championship. Many have worked for this moment for years. They just DESERVE the support of family and close friends to enjoy this special moment. I sat there in the arena and watched the joy of League City Clear Springs celebrating their 2013 Region III basketball title, They won it and Temple Church and La Tonya says it a big part of her life. On the subject of school changes La Tonya says if she were in charge she would not force students to wear uniforms and she would increase the lunch period back to one hour instead of the 30 minutes it now is. “Our lunch period use to be an hour and every since they changed it to 30 minutes it’s just simply is Not enough time to sit and relax and enjoy your lunch period”. When asked if she would change anything if she could live her life over again? LaTonya said not a thing because she feels gotten the most out of her life so far. In closing La Tonya praised her parents and especially her mother on being her most driving force in life. “She stays on us and follows up on all our class work and make sure we get it done! Please allow me to add we spoke briefly with Tamica and she expressed to us she know what pitfalls are out there and makes sure her children avoid them in life. Currently working and going to school to become a Registered Nurse, Tamica is leading by example for her children to follow!

had a blast doing so. It’s just a outright shame that they did it with so few fans in the arena. Katy Seven Lakes High School, Clear Springs’ opponent, wasn’t any better regarding fan attendance. I understand that we all have a ton of things to do in 48hour weekend. Families are loaded with children activites, errands and sometimes (we know “sometimes” always means “most times”) activities that just wears everyone out and then Sunday is upon us and its time for the 40-hour grind beginning Monday all over again. I get that. But can’t we squeeze in a couple of hours for these young ladies; our daughters, neices, cousins and friends? Don’t we understand that those little girls sitting in the stands

with those big eyes are watching those young ladies on the court and thinking to themselves that soon very soon when they reach thier teenage years they too can play basketball!? Can we just think of them sometime? No I guess not, because the attendnaxe will continue to be small and we will always question as to why. We have people wasting gas and attempting to crash phony alleged stars and ‘their’ parties just to gossip about who was there at the event, what they were wearing and more importantly who they were seen with. The more times change, the more things never seem to change. That’s just the way I see it!

THE A-NOTE with Aaron Watson

BE INSPIRED The one thing that is missing more so than anything else these days is inspiration. The inspiration that led Stevie Wonder to make the song "Love's in Need of Love Today," What made Dr. King have "A Dream" and that made John F. Kennedy speak the words "My fellow Americans ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you can do for your country". Too often we think that to inspire we have to be seen as some type of famous public figure. This has been the gate keeper to the possibilities that have the potential to raise the hopes and dreams of youth all over the world, starting in our own homes. The best of the best is inside of all of us, but lack of inspiration has given us a reason to look to others for what can be done within ourselves. The reason public figures get so much

attention (Good or Bad) is because we have resigned our power to influence our children over to them. Have you ever notice that people today are more engaged in their smart phones and tablets than they are in other human beings? The only thing that seems to spark a real conversation between two human beings face to face these days is bad news or unfounded rumors. With that said how can we ever get back to inspiring one another? Could fear be stronger than the promise of a better tomorrow, could the thought of failure be a deterrent to even trying to make a difference, I think not. Perceive what you will, but get to know me and you will find the spirit of a champion willing to give my experiences to all who will listen. I will be the Stevie, the Dr. King, and the J.

STAY ON TRACK Just when you think you've seen it all then you realize you haven't. Just when you think you've reached an age when you think you've got people and things figured out "surprise" you don't.

It's not that you don't have wisdom from your trials, tribulations or from past mistakes and new successes. But it often happens right when you sink your toes into the carpet and really begin to relax that

someone will jolt you back into reality. When you have taken years of building friendships and relationships and you think people know you and you know them they can often show you a side of themselves that you have never seen before. Once the immediate shock wears off you can choose either to maintain a close relationship with new boundaries set in place or walk away quietly. People that often say they want

the best for you but have not even achieved the best for themselves should be viewed without rose colored glasses and seen for who they really are. Maybe a wolf in sheeps clothing. If you are able to take their negative comments and continue on your journey with the stride of a beautiful Clydesdale then you know you are on your way. You have to two options 1.address them or 2. pretend that nothing has happen. Both should be approached with care and caution. You can have a conver-

sation and set those boundaries or you can know in your heart that what really matters is the confidence you have in yourself is sufficient and keep it moving. Either way stay true to yourself and continue to live your life. Although it feels like it would be most satisfying to point out all the wrongs in their lives trust me in the end it doesn't make you feel better. What feels best is to live YOUR best life.

Out and About with John Engel

TEXAS CITY

I have been spending a lot of time in and around Texas City recently, both for business and pleasure. What got me interested in the background of this town is a large sheet metal sculpture at the intersection if I-45 and Emmitt Lowery Expressway, but more on that later. Texas City is the third largest port in Texas, behind Houston and Galveston and is the eleventh largest port in the United States. The city was founded by three brothers in

1981. They were in the area hunting ducks and saw the potential for a deep water port. Two years later the Federal Government gave the Texas City Improvement Company permission to dredge the port to eight feet. The Company also constructed a four mile rail line to connect the port to Galveston, Harrisburg, Houston and eventually the entire national rail network making this port a real force in international trade. Over the years the channel was dredged to forty feet and the port extended for one and a half miles. In 1900 dredging was halted during the hurricane that devastated Galveston. However, the port remained open and no ship traffic was diverted from Texas. This put Texas City in the spotlight as a serious deep water port. In 1905 the Texas City Refining Company was established to handle the Texas crude produced as a result of the Spindletop discovery. For years this was the only refinery to manufacture was and lubricating oils. During the Mexican Revolution in 1913 the United Stated positioned the Second Division in Texas City to fight off the threat from the Mexican Army. This involved over 14,000 troops and 3,000 animals. The deployment overwhelmed the city and increased the population almost

Texas City continued to prosper until 1947 when the French Ship Grandchamp loaded with ammonium phosphate fertilizer mixed with diesel fuel from a leaking tank exploded. (This is very similar to the materials used to make the Oklahoma City bomb.) The explosion killed 576 people and injured over 4000. The damage from the blast was estimated to exceed $67 million. This is considered the worst industrial disaster in the history of our country. In 1988 The Emmett F. Lowery Expressway was dedicated to the memory of the Mayor of Texas City who served from 1964 to 1987. Lowery was instrumental in bringing the expressway that links downtown Texas City to I45. At 10 feet above sea level, the city is vulnerable to flooding due to hurricanes. However, when Hurricane Ike, which devastated Galveston in 2008, left Texas City mostly unharmed. The main reason for this was the 17 mile long dyke that protected much of the city. However a 12 foot storm surge ran over the dyke and destroyed most of the buildings and structures but the dyke itself was unharmed. It was closed for three years while the buildings were rebuilt and reopened in 2011. History aside, what interested me in the area was the abundance of art. At the intersection of I-45 and Emmett F. Lowery Expressway are The Longhorns by David Govedare. Dedicated in 2000, the sculpture depicts

several longhorn steer and a solar powered windmill. Govedare has also created two other pieces on display in the city. They are Runners in the Park at the Convention Center and Somewhere on the Trail at the Bay Street Park. All of these works are in sheet metals. Another prolific artist is Jane DeDecker. She has at least seven sculptures around town. Two of my favorites are Like Grandpa with a young boy pushing a wheelbarrow located at the Nessler Center and Safe Haven in Rainbow Park depicting a young girl seeking shelter in her mother’s skirt. These works are in bronze as are most of her sculptures. The third artist whose work I enjoy is Gary Price. Price also works in bronze and Family Outing depicting a family on a bicycle ride located in Central Parkway is a very active and lively work. I also very much enjoy Synergy which is in front of City Hall. Here five hands are linked at the wrist. To me it shows the strength and unity of people joining together. Finally the works of Scott Schaffer really caught my eye. Port Authority and Port Authority II, both located at the convention Center represent two of the most prevalent birds along the gulf coast, the brown pelican and the seagull.

Page 9

These are just a few of the dozens of pieces of unique art that are all around Texas City. If you are interested in viewing more of these sculptures you can view this brochure at: http://www.texas-citytx.org/RecTour/RecTourdocs/scu lptures_brochure.pdf. Information about Texas City in general may be found at: http://www.texas-city-tx.org/. A day trip to Texas City to enjoy the dyke and view the art is a very worthwhile trip for children and adults alike.

kinds of companies with 501(C) 3 including Churches and other Non-profit companies. We have made the information available in A King-size View and www.kingsizeview.com. By the time you read this column more information will be available so companies will know how to access more information on how to get involved in this program! In addition to working with Bethel Church Bishop Joe Simon got a chance to take in a

basketball game at TSU. The Bishop also held many meeting all over the City spreading the word about the good deeds of Wells Fargo and information about his Community Outreach Program. Among the things Simon did was visit SHAPE Center and found it to be very interesting to say the least. He shopped at Fiesta on South Main and was very pleased with the service he received during his visit. A lunch with Keith Jacobsen of Fiesta warmed Simon heart as

the two talked about working for our Lord and Savior. He also visited with Skipper Lee Frazier at his home and on the phone with Travis Gardner formally of KCOH. Visiting with Michael Harris who produced a photo of two of them from the late 80s. Look at the Hair in those photos! Finally when the day was done we took him to Church once again, this time it was where Two-Time World Heavy-weight Champion George Foreman delivers the Word. What a way

to close out his visit to Houston! Let me say many thanks goes out to Lary “Chatta Box” Hale of KTSU 90.9 FM Sports, Don Samuel of KCOH Memory and More on KCOH AM 1230, and Latisha Jackson of KWWJ 1360AM radio for helping us get the word out. Plus C Allen Productions worked hand in hand with Bishop Simon Community Outreach Program as well as many others. Please continue to read A KingSize View for more news about this great news!

Bishop Joe Simon said with a smile on his face we got the people feeling good and that’s fantastic, the Lord is Good”. Wells Fargo Senior Vice President Russ Cross said before heading back to the Airport he was very pleased with the enthusiasm people showed. “King I feel the people are ready to rebuild this community and we at Wells Fargo want to do what we can to help”. PRAIRIE VIEWS BEATS TSU IN THE THRILL UPON THE HILL By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Prairie View, Texas-There’s a Thrill upon the Hill at Prairie View when the Tigers of TSU come to town each year. The annual basketball match-up

between the two SWAC Schools was the talk of the town. The William J. Nicks center was full before half time of the Women game. TSU had won the first meeting in triple overtime and the Panthers wanted to get back at them. With the Panthers got off to a great start but TSU fought back to close to within 47-41 at the half. It was more of the same in the second half as TSU caught out and went out front by a good margin only to have the Panthers close the gap and take the lead for good. The scored was tied 5 times and the lead changed 15 times in the barn burner. Demondre Chapman had a big game with 23 points 3 boards and a steal. “I had heard a lot about this Murray guy (Aaric 6’10”) the first time I went against him I just tried to play defense on him but tonight our coaches told me

to attack him and make him work on defense”. Chapman was able to get the line making 5 of 9 free throws and he felt good about Rasi Jenkins gave them some great minutes in the win. “Jenkins has worked his butt off and he is willing to help us win by doing the dirty work like taking charges blocking shots and so forth I love the way he is playing for us”. In closing Chapman said the Panthers played smart football down the stretch by not rushing and working the clock and taking good shots. In the women game the Lady Tigers of TSU edged P V 63-60 after leading 33-31 at the half. The Lady Panthers received their SWAC Championship rings at the half time of the game. TSU rode the hot hand of Brianna Sidney who led the way

with 23 points while Jazzmin Parker added 11 and Sarah Williams chipped in 10 as the won for the 9th time in 10 conference games. First year coach

Johnetta Hayes-Perry has got the Lady Tigers rolling! The photos tell the story about the Thrill Upon The Hill!

THIS WEEK IN BASKETBALL: LADY MAVS OF MANVEL WINS REGION III TITLE By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Everyone felt all along it was the Lady Mavericks of Manvel the favorite to win the girls class 5A region III basketball title. It just so happen with Brianna Turner leading the way they did just that as they ran away from

Brianna Turner led the way and now has her bags packed for Austin

Cy Woods 58-42. Leading by as many as 20 points at 46-26 the Lady Mavs lived up to their billing having now beaten all 28 Houston area opponents they faced. Their 36-2 mark is truly impressive when you consider the two losses came to

Nationally ranked teams including two-time Defending State Champs Duncanville. But coach Bryan Harris don’t want to look past Plano West, the school they face on Friday night in order to face the Duncanville game winner. With most of their team

returning from last year’s regional quarter finalist, they set their sights on going to the big dance and they are headed to Austin. The McDonald’s All-American Turner says it’s been rough with of Houston really going after

them game after game. She led a three year run that netted an average of 34 wins a season. Beating a good but young Cy Woods team, the Lady Mavs have their work cut out for them in Austin. We certainly want to wish them the best of luck!

COACH OF THE WEEK: BYRON RIMM II-P.V. By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Prairie View, Texas-In his 8th year in charge of the Men’s Program at Prairie View Byron Rimm II is holding his own. The 99 graduate of Cal StateLos Angeles and his staff of Ansar Al-ameen, Byron Smith, Randy Washington and Jethro Hillman are working hard to get the Panthers to play consistence basketball. “We felt we had to get this win going against our cross-town Rival. The Panthers came into the TSU game at 45in Conference play and won it 85-77. “Our guys played hard and it was by any means neces-

sary tonight and I’m proud of the intensity our guys showed on the court tonight. A packed House at the William J. Nicks Baby Dome witness the Panthers hard fought victory over TSU. Using a good balance scoring attack the Panthers won it when it counted most. “ Yes Montrael Scott (26 Points), Demondre Chapman (23 Points) and John Brisco (16 points) all shot the ball well tonight, plus it was the little things that made the difference”. With the game on the line Reggis Onwukamuche drew the charge that put it out of reach for

TSU. Plus the big block by Rasi Jenkins who had 5 points and 7 boards and two big blocks. “ The big block by Rasi was great he’s only 6 feet 6 but he has long arms and it came hand, plus Reggis stepped in and drew the charge we got the plays when we needed them.

guys”. In closing Luis Monks lay-up gave the Panthers the lead for good. “Yes you know Luis

came up big and went down the middle I actually thought he was going to dunk the ball but he made a smooth lay-up”.

Rimm was glad to get out of the game with a 5-5 Conference mark when the dust settled. “You know TSU got some great kids on their squad probably two or three guys who are going to play pro so that 3 overtime game back in Houston gave us confidence we could play with these

WHAT IS TRUTH? Is the Observance of Easter, authorized by God through Jesus Christ and his Apostles? Please Get your Bibles and Follow this Study! Is the Observance of Easter, by the Church or anyone else, authorized by God through Jesus Christ and his Apostles? We ask this question because, those of us that proclaim to be Christians, have been given a commandment by the words of the apostles of our Lord and Savour Jesus Christ; “1Thes 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” But first, bear with us as we be scripturally reminded of the order of things, if you will, “The Chain of Command” in the belief of GOD. Jesus DEFINES those that are and those that are NOT of God, please read; “John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” God made it clear in His Word, that we MUST hear Jesus Christ His beloved son, and in verse 8, him ONLY; “Matt.17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.” John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. Jesus, the only one that God has commanded us to hear, tells us how we must believe on him; “John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.20 either pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” We must believe on Christ only in the manner he has stated, through his Apostle’s word, simply because he said so; being the head of every man; “1 Cor 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would

have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” Before Jesus ascended back into heaven, he left instructions with his apostles; “Matt 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” These instructions are for the one church that Jesus is building; “Matt 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Upon what rock; Christ for he is the Head of the church? “Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”(See Eph. 4:1416, 5:23-24) Jesus gave instructions to his Apostles, the ones that God gave him, on how to run HIS church, as they were guided by The Holy Ghost. No one else was given this authority. Remember he told them in verses 16 thru 18 of Matt. 28th chapter, that all power had been given him, by his Father in heaven and in earth. Jesus also told them in verses 19&20 to go and teach all nations, and to baptize. He also made it clear by what names baptism was to be done and what things they were to teach to be observed, and those were the things Jesus had commanded them. There were also things that he had yet to tell his apostles, after ascending back into heaven. According to scripture this was to be done by The Holy Ghost “The Comforter”, The Spirit of Truth, please read; “John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” How then MUST we believe and hear Jesus? According to Jesus, it is NOT through some voice that comes to us, but rather through his APOSTLES words as THEY were guided by The Holy Ghost; the things that are WRITTEN. Please read; “John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.“Eph 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;”. “I Jn 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” We MUST remember the Church by Christ (see Eph.3:2021), the one he is building, and is the Head of, has been commanded not to follow traditions and commandments of men (see Matt. 15:8-10; Col.2:8-12; 1823; Titus1:13-14), but to follow the traditions and commandments of the apostles which is found in New Testament scripture (Acts 2:41-42; 1Cor.11:12; Philp.4:9; 2Thes.2:13-15; 3:6). It is true; Jesus and his Apostles did observed the Passover, before his death. Jesus

was born under the Law (seeGal.4:4), and so was his Apostles. After his cruel death on the cross; the New Testament, which was in his blood (see1Cor.11:25), and after His resurrection, we find no scriptural evidence of him observing such. Neither do we find any instructions in the apostles’ doctrine and or word, for the Church that Christ is building, (Acts 2:47) to observe such. We believe that we are SAFE and COMPLETE ONLY in Christ Jesus, NOT in Moses, Elias or anyone else, note what the apostle Paul admonished the Church in Colosse to do; “Col 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.” Remember Christ left the apostles and only them instructions, and or commands on the things that ARE to be OBSERVED (see Matt.28:16-20), by the Church that he is the head of ; “Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the (1)preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Definition: (1)preeminence4409 proteuo (prote-yoo’-o); from 4413; to be first, to hold the first place (in rank or influ-

ence): KJV— have the preeminence. We must also remember that Jesus Christ, the only begotten of God was and is perfect, and so is The Holy Spirit. They did not forget anything, so that even before the deaths of all the apostles, there were offices put in place for the overseeing of the Church by Christ, the one that he is building (see Matt.16:1618; Acts20:16-17, 26-31, Philp.1:1; 1Tim.3:1-12; 5:17; Titus1:5-11; Heb.13:17-18). They, as well as all those that professes to be Christians, must follow the traditions and commandments of the apostles as they were guided by the Holy Spirit, until The Chief Shepherd shall appear; “1 Pet 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; (1)not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” “2Pet 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:” Definition: (1)not for filthy lucre-147 aischrokerdos (aheeskhrok-er-doce’); adverb from 146; sordidly: KJV— for filthy lucre’s sake, eagerness for base gain; 146 aischrokerdes-eager for base gain, greedy for money I hope we are clear on the order of things (chain of command) according to New Testament scripture. Now let us begin to answer the question; “Is the Observance of Easter, by the Church or anyone else, authorized by God through Jesus Christ and his Apostles?” Let us start with the two origins and there traditions. Now let us by scripture, prove Easter #1. Easter, which means Passover, was given by Moses from God to be OBSERVED by the children of Israel according to the law. It was never given to the Church by Christ, to be observed by Christians according to the Apostle’s doctrine and or word. Christ is the end of the Law (see John 1:17, Rom. 10:1-5).

WHAT IS TRUTH? CONT. Notice the difference in the two Easters, the first one we can find scripture for the customs, traditions and sacrifices that was set in place. Again this was given to Moses by God, for the Israelites and for a specific reason. The preparation of the foods that they were to partake of was specified by God through Moses, Please read;

Definition: Easter 3957 pascha (pas’-khah); of Aramaic origin [compare 6453]; the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it); 1) the paschal sacrifice (which was accustomed to be offered for the people’s deliverance of old from Egypt) 2) the paschal lamb, that is, the lamb the Israelites were accustomed to kill and eat on the 14th day of the month of Nisan (the first month of their year) in memory of the day on which their fathers, preparing to depart from Egypt, were bidden by God to slay and eat a lamb, and to sprinkle their door posts with its blood, that the destroying angel, seeing the blood, might pass over their dwellings; the paschal feast, the feast of the Passover, extending from the 14th to the 20th day of the month Nisan: KJV— Easter, Passover. Exod 12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the (1)purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this

night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. 15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. Definition: (1)purtenance thereof-7130 qereb; midst, among, the inner part, the middle a) the inward part: c) entrails (used of sacrificial animals) Exod 12:47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. The first Easter “Passover” was authorized by God through Moses, to Israel and is of the truth. The instructions of observance and the dates were set, by God, and it was much earlier than A.D. 325. If Christians are under the Old Law “The Law of Moses”, which we are not according to the apostle’s doctrine, then all of the instructions of observance including the SACRIFICES and the dates given, must be followed circumspect, to be right “righteous” with God. There were no fables, nor Greek gods or goddesses, in it. We must remember Christians MUST follow Christ through his Apostles, not Moses. Christ is the end of the Law (see John 1:17, Rom. 10:1-5). Now let us by scripture disprove Easter #2. EASTER: “Bill Petro, your friendly neighborhood historian www.billpetro.com/holidayhistory” “The most joyous of Christian festivals, and one of the first celebrated by the Christians, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, on the first Sunday after the full moon following the vernal equinox. The English word “Easter” corresponding to the German “Oster”, reveals the association of many Easter customs with those of the Teutonic tribes of central Europe. When Christianity reached these people it incorporated many of their heathen rites into the great Christian feast day. Easter month, corresponding to our April, was dedicated to Eostre, or Ostara, goddess of the spring. There was in common the time of spring and the triumph of life over death. The practice of eating eggs on Easter Sunday and giving them as gifts to friends and children probably arose

because, in the earlier days of the church, eggs were forbidden food during Lent (the 40 days before Easter) and were therefore always eaten on Easter Sunday. But the custom of coloring eggs goes back to the ancient Egyptians and Persians, who practiced this custom during their spring festival. The Easter hare, or bunny, comes from antiquity as well. The hare is associated with the moon in the legends of ancient Egypt. It belongs to the night when it comes out to feed. It is born with its eyes opened and, like the moon, is “the open-eyed watcher of the skies”. Through the fact that the Egyptian word for hare, “un”, means also “open” and “period”, the hare became associated with the idea of periodicity, both lunar and human, and so became a symbol of fertility and of the renewal of life. As such, the hare became linked with the Easter, or paschal, eggs. In the U.S. the Easter rabbit is fabled to lay the eggs in the nests prepared for it or to hide them for the children to find. Although Easter was celebrated very early in the church, its date was not established until A.D. 325 when Constantine convened the council at Nicea, where it was decided that it should be observed on the first Sunday after the full moon following the vernal equinox, to be fixed each year at Alexandria, then the center of astronomical science. The date is an approximation, and may vary. This means that its date may vary as much as 35 days!” Bill Petro, your friendly neighborhood historian www.billpetro.com/holidayhistory The second Easter has been disproved simply because, not one scripture was given for the instructions and dates of observance. Not one of the traditional observance given, matched any of the ones given by God. It is also stated that “Easter” is a Christian festival, ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE this is ERROR, which is FALSE DOCTRI E! We must remember “Christian” and “Christianity” are not just words, but are lifestyles! Using the apostle’s doctrine as a reference, as the Church of and by Christ has been commanded to do, Christian and Christianity are the two MOST misused words on earth. Christians MUST follow Christ through his Apostle’s word (John17:20-23). The truth is, the only Easter/ Passover authorized by God was given by God through Moses, to the children of Israel “those under the Old Law”. The second one was given to man by man in A.D. 325 MUCH too late to be of God or Christ for that matter, and it has not one custom or tradition given by God, Christ or his Apostles; thereby it is not of the truth. It’s full of customs and traditions of men; men such as “heathens and Greek goddess-

es”. It also consists of Fables, which are lies; such as egg laying rabbits. Not only does rabbits lay eggs according to the lie that children are told, but they lay hard-boiled, colored ones. This lie is passed on from generation to generation. Children should be taught the truth because the scriptures teach that all liars will have their part, see Rev.21:8. We all may fall short and lie at some point in our lives, but to practice, to observe and to look forward to lying, makes us LIARS.

The scriptures teach that Jesus’ resurrection was early on the first day of the week, at the end of the Sabbath, OT on Easter Sunday or Christian Sabbath. “Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.” “Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.” (see Matt.28:1; Luke24:1) Christian Sabbath, according to scripture is a contradiction, in that according to the apostles’ doctrine the disciples, which were called Christians, came together on the first day of the week, “Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” “Acts 20:6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. 7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to (1)break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.”….Definition: (1)break bread 2806 klao-to break used in the New Testament of the breaking of bread (communion).

Now let us set by New Testament Scriptures the foundation of belief. But first let us look at the only place the word “Easter” is found in the bible and it’s of Aramaic origin; it was used to define the feast of the Passover. According to Acts 12:1-4, these Jews were not of the body, the Church that Christ was building (Col.1:1820; Matt.16:17-18), because it pleased them that king Herod stretched forth his hand to vex certain of the Church. The scriptures then go on to name those of the Church that King Herod vexed, killing James, the brother of John with the sword, and putting Peter in prison. Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) 4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people (KJV) Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) 4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people (KJV)

February 2014 We must remember All FLESH including GENERATIONS ends in Christ; we are neither Jew nor Greek in Christ, according to scripture we MUST become NEW SPIRITUAL creatures, Please read; Exod 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. 2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.(KJV) Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (KJV) Eph 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (KJV) Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. (KJV) All must believe on Christ through the apostle’s word, and after baptism must continue steadfastly in the Apostle’s doctrine. This doctrine is found only in New Testament scriptures. Those Jews that believed according to Christ were his disciples and those that did not, were not of him, Please read; John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV) Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in

(KJV) We must remember according to scripture, Christians cannot be believers and hearers of the word only, but must suffer to be doers, of the Apostle’s Doctrine, Please read; Matt.16:24: Acts 14:22 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we MUST through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. (See also; John12:25-26; Rom.8:1618; 1Thes.3:1-8; 2Tim.2:11-12; 3:12; 1Pet.4:1-2&18) Phil 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.(KJV) James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (KJV) James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? The (1)bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. (KJV) 1 Cor 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took (1)bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.(KJV) Definition: (1)bread-740 artos (ar’-tos); from 142; bread (as raised) or a loaf: KJV— (shew-) bread, loaf. We have been looking but, we have not been able to find in the Apostle’s word, Lent, Palm Sunday, Good Friday or even Easter Sunday, which again would be a CONTRADICTION and CONFUSION(1 Cor 14:33), thereby making them traditions of men. According to scripture, true followers of Christ “Christians” cannot, MUST not, be followers of traditions and customs, not authorized by Christ through his Apostles. Because if we are, then there is a command given by the apostles, for such ones, please read; II Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. 5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. 6 ow we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that (1)ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that (2)walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. Definitions: (1)ye withdraw yourselves-4724 stello (stel’lo); probably strengthened from the base of 2476; properly, to set fast (“stall”), i.e. (figuratively) to repress (reflexively, abstain from associating with): KJV— avoid, withdrawself. (2)walketh 4043 peripateo-to walk: b) Hebrew for, to live 1) to regulate one’s life 2) to conduct oneself 3) to pass one’s life We were able to find Easter “Passover”, not as the Church observing it, but the Jews, before being converted to Christ. There is no need for Jews or anyone else to observe Easter/Passover any more. Remember Christ is the end of the Law and there is neither Jew nor Greek in Christ Jesus (see John 1:17, Rom.10:1-5). We must not frustrate the Grace of God, by observing the things of the law (seeGal.2:14-21, 3:1-5). We are all one in Christ, if all hear and obey the law of God’s only begotten Son (seeJames1:22, Rom.3:27, Gal.6:2), to be right with Him according to scriptures, please read. John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.(KJV) Rom 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that

they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.(KJV) Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.(KJV) Those that has been baptized into the one Body which is the one Church by the one Lord Jesus Christ, must know and believe according to scripture, there is only one Holy Father and He is not on earth John 17:11-13. The belief and obedience of Eph 4:4-5 would make all have the one Spirit of the one Faith striving to be followers of Christ “Christians”, after the one Baptism. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,(KJV) Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.(KJV) 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and (1)one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Definition: (1)one mediator-3316 mesites (mesee’-tace);from 3319; a gobetween, i.e. (simply) an internunciator, or (by implication) a reconciler (intercessor): KJV— mediator.1) one who intervenes between two, either in order to make or restore peace and friendship, or to form a compact, or for ratifying a covenant 2) a medium of communication, a arbitrator We hope it is scripturally clear on the One Mediator between God and man. There is no one else that man can appeal to as a medium of communication, or to make or restore peace and friendship, but Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ. If there is a mediator, between man and Christ, then that would be two

mediators between God and man. According to God, Christ and his Apostles, there is only ONE MEDIATOR. If anything else is taught, it is not of the truth and is false Doctrine! Now to answer the question that was asked at the start of this study. “Is The Observance of Easter, by the Church or anyone else, authorized by God (the one and only Holy Father which is in heaven, through Jesus Christ), the one and only mediator between God and man and His Apostles?” The SCRIPTURAL answer is, ABSOLUTELY OT! If anything else is taught, it is not of the truth and is false Doctrine! Dear reader, remember the purpose of these articles is to seek the TRUTH according to THE WORD, thereby exposing ERROR, which is false doctrine, for the purpose of saving our souls. We believe this is best done by definitions and the PREPONDERANCE OF SCRIPTURES; which is having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of SCRIPTURE. Again we believe this allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic. Thanks again for your interest in the WORD of TRUTH; GRACE and SALVATION; John 17:17-21; Acts 20:29-32; James1:21-25. After all it is our MAP to HEAVEN, and away from HELL, and the continuance in it, is the O LY thing that allows the man of God to be perfect, 2Tim.3:12-17! 2 Cor 13:5 (1)Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be (2)reprobates? 6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.(KJV) Definitions: (1)Examine yourselves-3985 peirazo (pi-rad’zo); from 3984; to test (objectively), i.e. endeavor, scrutinize, discipline: KJV— assay, examine, go about, prove. (2)reprobates-96 adokimos (ad-ok’-eemos); unapproved, i.e. rejected; by implication, worthless (literally or morally): KJV— castaway, reprobate. 2 Tim 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MONTRAEL SCOTT: PV Prairie View, Texas-Oh yes there was a Thrill Upon The Hill as TSU paid a visit to the Panthers of P V. With both scratching their way to the SWAC post season tournament at Toyota Center March 11th-15th. It was Montrael Scott a 6 feet 3 inch guard junior from Dallas Madison High School who led the way with 26 points. The sharp shooter connected on 4 of 7 attempts from 3 point land and added two assists, one steal and 5 rebounds. He was also 4 of 5 from the foul line and TSU simple had no one to stop him. The flow of the game was hot and heavy all game long. “We had lost 3 games in a row and The sharp-shooting Montrael Scott (31) hit 26 on TSU in the Thrill Upon The Hill 2014 - photo by Dr. Victor Keys

that’s bad so we had been practicing very hard and we were ready for this game” Scott went on to add they were not going to lose at home anymore. He also credited Luis Monks who hit a big lay-up to give the Panthers a little breathing room. “Yes sir Louis didn’t play last year because of broken ankle but he is getting back to his form and he going to really help us win games”. With his team counting on him to hit the open shots in order for them to win. “Yes sir I was coming off a couple of poor shooting games but our coaching staff told me to just shot the ball and that’s what I did”.

Not wanting to let his teammates down Scott was almost guiding the ball through the hoop and had and excellent follow through in his first few shots making 9 of 17 overall. A RISING STAR JORDAN LEWIS-APPLETON By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View One of the treasures of covering little league sports is you get a chance to see stars in the making. While covering the Tigers Athletic and Education football organization annual banquet we were introduced to Jordan Lewis. The outstanding 4th grader at Appleton Elementary school says his team worked very hard trying to get to the Super Bowl. Even though they didn’t make it he feels they will in 2014. One of his better games came when they played the Mustangs this year and Lewis will move up to J V in 2014. In the classroom at Appleton Elementary Lewis likes Language Arts best. He went on to say he feels he could very well win The Spelling Bee Championship in the future. In closing we enjoyed our little chat with Jordan and he is on the right track both in the classroom and on the field! THE COLLEGE SPORTS REPORT Jerry Woodley COLLEGE BASKETBALL, THE DRIVE FOR MARCH Did February leave us with any surprises, no. All it told us was that UCONN is #1 and everybody else is playing to get Nashville and get their shot at trying to knock them out. Yes,

word is their old Notre Dame can push them to the edge. And, that maybe true. Can they beat the juggernaut. This is a team that has been playing short handed all season long. Sometimes playing with as

Page 23

http://aksvthecsr.blogspot.com many as 7 healthy players. Depth has carried them this far, and it will continue to do so, along with determination, and tradition. #1 UCONN Lady Huskies is the GOLD standard NOW. The way LaTech, Tennessee, Texas, and USC were the GOLD standard during the growth period of women's college basketball. From the AIAW days to the acceptance of NCAA inclusion. Only Tennessee was able to sustain over a long period. 8 Championships (TENN), UCONN is tied, and is vying for number 9. Can it happen, will it happen, questions, questions. Nashville is the end of the road for four teams out of 64. While there is a drop off after the top 25 in women's college basketball. 68 teams, play-in games, anything can happen, and it has. Their just isn't a clear cut definite stand out, get hot, dominate Men's team out there right now. Syracuse #1(25-2) lost their second game of the year. Back to back, (BC, DUKE) in the ACC. San Diego St #6 (23-3) still not sure of themselves, recently losing 2 conference games on the road. Which leaves Wichita St (29-0) #3, playing in The Valley. Conference tournaments start in less than 2 weeks. Some MidMajor (non-BCS schools) could

blow up and there goes a favorite, a top liner. Conference tournaments gives each team another shot at glory. 4 games, win and move on. Arlington awaits 4 teams, any team, that can get 6 wins.

happens. And when it does, you see the first run. Then the second usually happens towards the last 4-5 mins of 1st period. If nothing more than to give you something to think about while in the locker room.

Houston will be hosting two college basketball tournaments this year. The Southland (March 1216), Merrell Center, Katy, TX. The SWAC (March 11-15), Toyota Center, Houston, TX.

Well after scratching and clawing their way to within 6 points. (13-19, 9:32,1st hlf), an 18-3 run by UCONN the rest of the way was all it took to put everything in perspective. 40-16 halftime lead, think about it. Ironically, neither teams bench scored in the 1st half. UH could only get as close as 25(18-43,19:04). Then it was all UCONN the rest of the way. 92-41 final and UH has 2 regular season games left and the conference tournament.

LADY COUGARS WERE NO MATCH FOR #1 UCONN Not since the days of the old SWC has a women's basketball team (60-55, Texas) #1 come to Hofheinz. Has there been an anticipated look at the new standard in women's college basketball. For the 1500+ in attendance, you got a chance to see what big girl basketball looks like up close. Welcome to The American Athletic Conference. Can't have long scoring droughts.(2-3 mins tops) Defensive lapses are a no-no, unforced turnovers, huge mistakes. Especially against a team of UCONN's caliper. It is what they thrive on. You, to make the mistake. You, to wear down against game pressure. And it is only a matter of time when it

Hopefully, the UH Women's Basketball family will take this whole season in perspective and emerge better prepared for the up coming future. Because even though Louisville(ACC) and Rutgers(BIG10) are leaving after this season. UCONN will still be the train on the track running over whoever is in their way. UCONN 2nd hlf: 32pts in paint; 18pts/T/O; 16F/B pts; 12 pts of bench. UH: 12pts I/Pant; 1pt T/O; 4pts bench.

During his playing days Walter was and outstanding football and track star at Aldine-Eisenhower high school and went on to Kansas where he also participated in the same two sports. “King you known me for a long time and all I’m trying to do is help these kids so they can have a productive life after football”. That’s the reason Walter is looking more into the classroom of some of these kids today. “Let’s face it King if they break their leg and can’t play anymore What are they going to do?’ Once again we want to commend Shawanica Batiste, the

Secretary, Vice President Alvina Reynolds and Athletic Director Carl Shields for help Walter build this organization into a wonderful community group!
