Behind The Wheel With THE KING (Arthur Prayther)

LEXUS IS F 4-DOOR SEDAN My mind quickly goes back to the days when we were taping Behind The Wheel TV Auto show and we test drove the SC 300. Then it was the fastest of all Lexus lineup, but man have that changed. The All new 2014 IS F 4-door sport sedan is powered by a 5.0 Liter DOHC 32 Valve V8 engine with direct & port injection VVT-I intake and VVT-I exhaust. This baby cranks out a whooping 418 horses and 371 pounds per foot of torque. Its mated to an 8-speed sport direct shift transmission with F Spec double wishbone front Multi-link rear suspension with limited slip differential and Brembo Sourced Ventilated disc brakes. Front 14.2 inch drilled

rotors with six-piston opposed aluminum calipers and high-friction pads and rear 13.8 inch, we are talking serious braking capabilities here. All this smoothly dashes to the road surfaces on 19-inch BBS Forged alloy wheels covered by P 225/40 19-tires up front and P 225/35 R-19-inch tires in the rear. Once you hit the F Spec mode you know you are ready for the race track! Please don’t allow all this speed talk fool you, the new Lexus IS F still manages to get 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 MPG on the highway and has combine average of 18 miles per gallon. Not bad for a vehicle with 418 horses under the hood.

Moving over to safety the new Lexus IS F has twin-chamber front airbags along with side curtain supplemental restraint system along with smart stop technology. High intensity head lamps provide excellent vision during night driving. It also has safety connect for automatic collision notification and stolen vehicle location plus SOS Emergency button with enhanced roadside assistance

with one year free trial. That’s a total safety package if there every was one! The luxury and convenience features are far to many to run down but to name a few Smart Access with push button start/start. Leather trimmed F Spec Sport Seat with 10-way power driver and front passenger equipped with memory and heat features. A power tilt Moon roof with one-touch open/close. Even the gauges are electroluminescent with Opitron showing shift indicator oil temperature and voltmeter. The outside mirrors are automatically dimmed

when lights comes into the picture and they also have defroster. Plus the inside mirrors also dims automatically. Sounds come from a 14-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Audio Package with single CD/DVD player with hard drive disk navigation system with the works. As they use to say at the Carnival Do you want to go Real Fast, then test drive the new Lexus IS F and it will take you there! Just in case you are wondering the price tag of our test vehicle tips the scales at just over 68 Grand!

It was a big crowd of over 19 Thousands fans and perfect day for the annual climax of the high school track and field events. The Acura RLX is moving up to the top of the midsize market with the all Japanese product line. With 85 per cent of its part from Japan along with both the engine and transmission being from Japan this is one of the few vehicles that can boost that fact. Going up Highway 290 on a perfect6 day Big John Chandler, Dr. Victor Keys and I made the trip in little or no time. Making a stop in Elgin to chaw down some of the great Barbeque.

Under the hood of the new RLX is a proven 3.5 Liter SOHC 24valve VTEC V6 engine and is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. With enough power to get in and out of traffic and yet get splendid fuel consumption when you want to drive sensible. Fact is the RLX got 24 miles per gallon average with 20 in the city and 31 on the highway. Variable cylinder management allows you to get great economy and still have power when needed. By the way the new RLX also has a tire Sealant kit and inflator kid in place of a spare tire. When this baby came off the boat in California it made room

by pushing some others back. The interior was more car like and the overall fit and finish rates with the best in class. A Quality Kriel Premium Audio System with 14-speakers complete with Satellite XM Radio with HD radio and Bluetooth Hands free link SMB Text Messaging functionality and Pandora internet radio interface. MAZDA6 ROLLING RIGHT ALONG By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View This time around we take a peep at the new 2015 Mazda6 Grand Touring and we think you will like what we found. To begin with in these days of economics one has to think fuel consumption as a big key. Well the new Mazda6 with Skyactiv has a 2.5Liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 184 horsepower and 185 lbs per foot of torque. But the most important thing is it gets 28 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway. This front wheel drive vehicle has skyactiv-drive 6-speed sport automatic transmission producing a smooth operation. Take into consideration the 4wheel disc brakes and electric power assisted steering along with independent front/rear suspension and front/rear stabilizer bars, you have like what you feel when you are behind the wheel. Keep in mind we are talking about a price tag of just over 33 Grand. Power rolls to the pavement on P225/45R 19 inch AllSeason tires wrapped around a 19 inch alloy wheel. When you look at safety the new Mazda6 gets a 5-star rating from the NHTSA with 5-star rating for both front and rear seat riders during side crashes. A 24hour roadside assistance program as well as tire pressure

monitoring system all adds to the overall safety of the vehicle. Throw in smart city brake support and blind spot monitoring system you have to feel safe behind the wheel of this baby. The vehicle is backed by a 36month/36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty and a60 month/60,000 miles power train warranty. Once inside you are greeted to a layout with good full gauges that are easy to read. Leathertrimmed sport seats with 8-way power driver seat with lumbar support as well as memory and heat features. The front passenger has a 4-way power seat with all the other features as well. Sound system includes a 5.8

inch color touch screen display with Bluetooth hands-free phone/audio along with paddle shifters/commander switch and rearview camera. By the time you add the Bose11-speaker

KIA SOUL AN OUTSTANDING SMALL STATION WAGON By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Dallas, Texas-There was a time when it was hard to get me to go on the road in a small vehicle. But after taking the Kia Soul to Dallas the other week we came away with a good feeling about the small station wagon. The KIA Soul is commonly referred to as a small SUV but the KIA folks calls it a small station wagon. But at any rate when Tom Walker and I made the trip to big D we were impressed with the way the vehicle handled as well as the overall comfort of the ride. Please let us not forget we are talking about a vehicle that came in at just over 26 Grand. Now we are talking true value in every sense of the word. Power comes from a 2.0 Liter gas direct injection 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with active Eco system. Electric power steering made the handling a breeze and 18-inch alloy wheel provided a smooth transition to the pavement. This added up to 23 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway for an average mileage of 26 for this well built Korean product. With 93 per cent of its part from Korea and only 2 per cent from the United States and Canada, the KIA Soul has a final assembly point in Korea as well as

both engine and transmission are from Korea. On the safety side the new Soul as dual front advanced air bags with front seat mounted side airbags as well as full-length side curtain airbags. Throw in anti-lock braking system with brake Assist and traction control plus electronic stability control and vehicle stability management. Hill start assist control and tire pressure monitoring system rounds out the safety features. Inside the new KIA Soul sure it has A/C power windows and door locks. But such features as telescopic leather wrapped steering wheel with gearshift knob and mounted controls on the tilt wheel. AM/FM/MP3 Audio system with UVO powered by

Microsoft with rear camera display. Our test vehicle was equipped with Sirius XM Satellite radio which comes with a 3-month free subscription. USB ports and auxiliary Input Jacks as well as Bluetooth wireless technology. The driver seat

has power controls and the rear seats are 60/40 with fold down feature. This adds to what is already a great deal of cargo space in the rear. Warranties for the new KIA Soul is 10-year/100,000 mile Limited power train warranty and 5-

year/60,000 miles Limited basic warranty and 5-year/60,000 miles roadside assistance please ask your dealer for more details. In closing let me say the new Soul panoramic sunroof with power sunshade gives it an even more sporty appeal!

Out and About with John Engel

THE DESTINATION Last month I discussed my dream vacation and the journey of planning. Now it is time to tell you how the planning paid off and what the destination brought us. We left early in the morning, driving to the airport for a 6:00 AM flight. After parking we dragged our bags (five suitcases to check and three carry-on bags) to the airport and checked in. (Note here about planning: double check the weight of your bags before you check in or you will be shifting clothing from

one bag to another in the line at the terminal.) From there we had a long two part flight to Seattle. It was an uneventful flight and we met up with my sister and her husband exactly as planned. Having our papers in a file and ready to present made every step a simple task. We arrived at the hotel and had a full day to enjoy the town. We spent a lot of time on the waterfront and ate a great meal at Pike’s Market. That night we sat around the pool (in heavy coats) and caught up with my relatives

from Northern Michigan. We have discovered that meeting for a vacation every year is much better than traveling to one or the other’s house where life gets in the way. The next day we took a ferry across Peugeot Sound. The $7.00 round trip ride gave us a fantastic view of a part of our country I have never seen. (Note: this is the ferry featured in the new GIECO commercial.) The next day was cruise day. As I said last month we have to leave from Vancouver and return to Seattle. This involved a three hour bus ride with a two hour delay at customs. The strange part of this bus ride is that we never actually had any time off the bus in Vancouver. As soon as the bus stopped at the cruise terminal we were brought through United States Customs and entered property controlled by our government. Effectively, we walked across about 300 feet of Canadian soil. As we boarded we found that

the buffet was ready for us. On our last cruise we had hot dogs and hamburgers that just did not sit well. We had an hour or two before cruising so we walked the ship to get the layout. We were on the eighth deck close to the rear. The dining rooms were below us and the buffet just above us, all at the rear of the ship. Carnival has an area called “Serenity” that is for adults only. It is a quiet place at the rear of the ship behind the buffet to relax and enjoy the views. As this is a May cruise in the upper northwest, we did experience some cool weather. However, we only had rain one day. Our cabin was on the side of the ship that faced the land on the way up and we had spectacular views at all times. Even in the rain we were protected by the deck above us. Room service is included in the price and we often ordered snacks and beverages while we sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view. When it was cold we were all bundled up

in blankets and sipped warm coffee. During our days at sea we enjoyed what the ship had to offer. We saw production shows, comedy presentations and trivia contests. There was always something going on. We also had time to relax and talk. Someone always had a deck of cards and we would play cards and talk. My sister and I fall into our roles with each other as soon as we get together. It is like no time has passed. The first port of call was Anchorage. This is the capital of Alaska and is very unique. This is the only capital of a US state that is not accessible by highway. Everything and everyone has to arrive and depart by plane or boat. We bought passes to the Mount Roberts tramway and rode the cable car up over 1800 feet above the ground. At the top we enjoyed a nature center with some very informative guides. Most of the employees there are natives and have a tribal name as well as a given name. They are proud of their heritage and spent a lot of time explaining tribal customs and traditions. At the top of the tramway we were able to see, up close, a mated pair of bald eagles in a nearby tree. They just sat and watched the world go by. These were two of many eagles we saw on this trip. We also observed whales, sea lions and many others creatures of the area during the entire cruise.

A King-Size View about the wheel chair competition.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK ABBY DUNKIN-NEW BRAUNFELS-CANYON ARIEL JONES HUMBLE-ATASCOCITA ABBY DUNKIN-NEW BRAUNFELS-CANYON Austin, Texas-every since the opened the Mike A. Myers Track and Field complete we have enjoyed the state meet more and more. But his year was special as the UIL under the great leadership of Dr. Charles Breithaupt added wheel chair events. Abby Dunkin of New BraunfelCanyon stole the show when she rolled her way to both the 100 and 400 meters champions as well as the shot put. Her toss of the ball for 18 feet 4 inches beat out the others and also was almost of foot further than Dustin Strelsky for the boys Wheel chair champion. Abby went on to the track and more than 19 thousand fans including media cheered them on and

helped her celebrate during her victory lap. “It was awesome to see all the people here for the races and I tried so hard to make sure they saw my best. Dunkin due to a nerve disorder lost her mobility but it couldn’t damp her spirit as she smiled brightly rolling to a 19.88 in 100 and 1.17.65 in the 400 in the record books. Texas is the 10th state to add wheel chair as an official state track event. Abby will be in the books from now on. “I was so nervous but so excited at the same time, during our shot put there wasn’t too many people out here, but when we hit the track and saw those 19 thousands fans cheering us on it was like Wow”. Dunkin says she thank the UIL because it was another way to get the word out

It was a great time to talk about the path female sport has come from. “Oh I’d say it has come a very long ways, but we felt all along females can accomplish just as much as males and sometimes more”. After starting back in October Abby has gotten the wheel chair racing down pat. With plans to attend UT Arlington and play wheel chair basketball this fall Abby is on the right track. She also spent time with San Antonio Spurs Wheel Chair team and went again all guys. “Yeh, they kind of toughen me up and I’m looking forward to both basketball and track and even a 10K marathon”. Over the years we’ve had some outstanding Athletes but let me tell you Abby Dunkin is right up there at the top!. ARIEL JONES HUMBLE ATASCOCITA Austin-Texas-One of the greatest things about going to the state track and field meet year in and year out is you get the opportunity to see student/athletes grow before your eyes. That’s the case with Atascocita Ariel Jones a senior who is bound for UT this fall closed out a wonderful High School career. This year she placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.64 that

was behind Alexis Duncan of De Soto who ran a 13.39 and Alaysh’a Johnson of Spring clocked at 13.59. “I didn’t feel I got out the blocks that well but I was proud of getting third place but deep down inside I knew I could have done better. So when it came time for the 300 hurdles it was no stopping the talented and charming Jones and she bolted out the blocks and rolled to a 41.78. Still a little ways from the record set by Chava Demart of Cypress Creek of 41.01 in 1998, but certainly good enough to win the state title. “To be honest with you I was still thinking about the 100 and I tried to clear my mind and get ready to run a good race“. Jones said she went back to what she learned in practice that’s to give it her all in the last lap. “I feel I lived up to the plan and came away with the state title and yes sir I feel pretty good about that! Having a special feel for the Mike A. Myers complex, Jones says it’s because that where she plans to be the next four years. “Well I’m running on my home track tonight and definitely plan to run hurdles for UT, so I’m pretty proud about that“. We asked Jones what is she planning on majoring while at UT. “I want to deal with the arts as well as architecture Engineering and somewhat work

Page 8

The sensational Ariel Jones of Humble Atascocita takes home the class 5A 300 meters hurdles gold medal the two of them together”. Engineering is so challenging and it gives you a chance to get involved with the arts as well. In talking with Jones we think it took a while but she finally remembered this old dude interviewing her every since she first came to state years ago. Jones closed by saying she loves the track at UT and think she made a good choice and plans to make the most it. Lord knows we believe she will do well on the track and in the classroom as also!

By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Austin, Texas-May 10th was a near perfect day for the state track and field finals and North Shore’s Kerwin Roach made the most of it. The junior jumper won the state’s class 5A triple jump title with a leap of 49-06 nearly four inches better than Jordan Thomas of Klein Collins who got second place. If the name Roach ring a bell just think back two months ago, he was in Austin to help the Mustangs win the state’s class 5A boys basketball championship. “I think that just goes to show I’m a competitor who is willing to work hard”. Roach went on to say the student athletes at North Shore compete hard in practice making them better when it comes time to compete.

Reflecting back to the basketball championship Roach said; We were in a David and Goliath situation because most of the teams we face had bigger taller lineups, but Coach Green (David) kept telling us we had the hearts of champions”. Looking forward to next year Roach is going to be a leader on the squad and we asked him about that role. “We were a senior team but our sub varsity programs all are looking forward to competing for another state championship and expectations are very high”. In closing Roach made it clear he is looking forward to a great senior season at North Shore and on to college. “I’m certain I want to study computer engineering because the computer is the key to the future“.

THIS WEEK IN TRACK-KINGWOOD BOYS ROLLS TO CLASS 5A TITLE By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Austin, Texas-Funny how no matter what happens in the state meet the mile relay usually decides the Boys Class 5A championship. It was no exception this year as the Mustangs of Humble Kingwood jumped out the blocks and own the 4 by 400 meter relay giving them a one point edge over Klein Oak at 3938 points. De Soto defending champ took third with 34 points. It was Garrett Williamson, Dawson Trudell, DeWitt Thomas and Myles Marshall doing the honor in a time of 3.13.25. Arlington Martin and Converse Judson claimed second and third places. When the dust settled and the more than 19 Thousand fans went home the Mustangs had the title in hand and even the Alternate Zach Alam took part in the celebration as the local guys came through at the end. A busy day for Myles Marshall as he won the 800 meters in a time of 1.51-61 ahead of Robert Ford of San Antonio Johnson who ran a 1.52-01 to take second place. PEOPLE PLEASER I'm an entertainer at heart! Seemingly It has always come natural to me, and doesn't require any extra effort or energy.

Whether its entertaining myself or my friends I love smiling and making people around me smile. It makes my heart sing! And I feel like I'm adding joy to the

world and propelling happiness into the universe. But then there are times when we are given test, a test in an area that we feel we can exceed expectations and win. You think this is what I'm made for and I can do this and you gladly accept the challenge. But the challenge is greater than you can even imagine, it actually becomes work and requires you to exert effort and energy. Often times there are people that make

you feel like you are walking on land mines instead of doing a happy dance; even general conversation begins to feel like the next presidential debate. How far are we to go to motivate, encourage and uplift? A good sign that you are operating at full capacity and giving it all you've got but are starting to overload, is when the butterflies in your stomach turn into knotted up pits of anxiety. When your smile is now turned upside

down and your heart might even ache a bit. Then it's time to retreat and leave them in more capable hands. You can not afford to lose the overwhelming joy that you have worked so hard to obtain. No one can tell you when but you will know. I can only suggest to get back to entertaining yourself and the others that find your fun loving spirit irresistible! Choose Happiness!

CD REVIEW: “GOD'S AMAZING LOVE" BY BETTY HOWARD Betty Howard, a songwriter, musician, and retired music teacher was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She comes from a family of six children. Her parents were both from East Texas, but moved to the Houston area. She started taking piano lessons at the age of 10. Throughout her childhood and adult life, she sang with local church and school choirs. Presently, Betty sings with the Foundry United Methodist Church Chancel Choir.

soothe your soul with beautiful sounds from heaven. It is one album that will truly make a great contribution to your CD collection. The soulful, bluesy gospel style will leave you yearning to play the album again and again.

Growing up in Acres Homes, which is in Northwest Houston, Betty attended elementary, junior, and senior high schools in the Aldine Independent School District. During her senior year, her parents moved to Third Ward, and Betty graduated from Jack Yates High School. After graduating from high school, she went to Texas Southern University where she earned two degrees, Bachelor of Music (AllLevel) and a Master of Education. Throughout her college undergraduate training, she sang with the Texas Southern University Choir and the Women's Glee Club.

1. Three traditional hymns ("Amazing Grace," "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah," and "Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior")

Using her degrees from Texas Southern, Betty taught music and fine arts in the North Forest Independent School District for 26 years and the same subjects in Houston Independent School District for nine years. After 35 years of teaching, Betty retired in 2004. During her teaching career, she composed original songs and also arranged many songs for her kindergarten through twelfth grade students to sing for school and other special programs. Singers like Aretha Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Ray Charles, and Reverend James Cleveland have influenced the music of Betty Howard. To make a long story short, Betty described her music as "Sweet Gospel with a Touch of the Blues." She used her resonant singing voice to sing songs that convey messages of hope, love, joy and eternal life. It is her desire that listening to the songs on her "God's Amazing Love" CD may encourage people to live a more godly life and do everything within their power to get ready for that Great Day. I highly recommend that you listen to Betty Howard's "God Amazing Love " album on Pandora.com and let her music

Betty decided to record her debut gospel CD "God's Amazing Love" at Kena Naya Productions in Tomball, Texas in 2012. The 12 track album consists of:

2. Four inspirational classics ("Oh Happy Day," "One Day At A Time," "The Impossible Dream," and "You'll Never Walk Alone")

3. Two spirituals ("Go Down Moses," and "There Is A Balm In Gilead") 4. Three original songs by Betty Howard ("Are You Ready For That Great Day," "Lord Hear My Cry: Make Me Over Again," and "Oh What A Joyful Reunion We Will Have") All the songs were meticulously arranged by Betty Howard to create her unique style of music. When Betty puts her spin on a song, she always remains true to the basic melody of the song, occasionally adding "blue notes" (notes from the blues scale) to add flavor and color to the melody. Examples of this can be found in her arrangement of Edwin Hawkins' "Oh Happy Day," Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson's "One Day At A Time" and the spiritual "There Is

A Balm In Gilead." To create variety in her music, Betty used the violin, flute, saxophone, and guitar to play bluesy riffs and improvise jazzy solos. "Go Down Moses" is a good example of this. The beautiful exotic sounds played on the saxophone took the recording to a higher level of interpretation as the driving bass guitar outlined the walking movements of Moses going to Egypt. In addition, Guy Ben Murhprey, Betty's producer, arranged powerful parts for the brass quartet which created a strong harmony background for "Go Down Moses" and other songs on the album. Doing this also helped the musicians create the Big Band Sound which is heard on some of the other tracks of this album. Making the "God's Amazing

Love" gospel CD has been a very rewarding experience for Betty Howard. It is her desire that some of the songs on the CD will encourage people to develop a personal relationship with God and do everything within their power to get ready for that Great Day. Finally, Betty Howard has started working on her first video for the song "Lord Hear My Cry: Make Me Over Again." The video filming will be at different locations in the city of Houston. She plans to make a colorful video that depicts the story of the song in a very special way. Hopefully, the video will be posted on You Tube in the near future. In the meantime, continue to enjoy her beautiful music on Pandora.com and Jango.com. "God's Amazing Love " is an awesome CD.

WHAT IS TRUTH? SUFFERING There are many in the religious world today proclaiming to be “Christ-ians”. The name itself indicates ownership. There are many proclaiming to belong to Christ, but they are thinking and doing things their own way. There are lifestyles, things that are put in place for worship, and names that are given to men that cannot be found in the apostles’ doctrine. We cannot have it our way just because it “SEEMETH RIGHT” (Proverbs 14:12 and 16:25; Isa.55:6-9). Christians, (Followers of Christ through His apostles), are not their own because they have been bought with a price (1Cor.6:19-20; and 7:22-23). Christians MUST DENY themselves take up their crosses DAILY and follow Christ (Luke 9:23-24). If we believe that any prophecy given by GOD was true, then we MUST believe that ALL prophecies given by HIM was true. THE PROPHECY A D SOME EXAMPLES OF JESUS CHRIST’ SUFFERI GS, WHO HATED HIS LIFE WHILE O THIS WORLD! EARTHLY APPEARA CE OF THE LORD JESUS: “SUFFERI G” Isa 52:10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. 11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. 12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward. 13 Behold, my servant (1)shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. 14 As many were (2)astonied at thee; (3)his visage was (4)so marred more than any man, and (5)his form more than the sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.(KJV) Definitions: (1)shall deal prudently-7919 sakal (saw-kal’); a primitive root; to be (causatively, make or act) circumspect and hence, intelligent: KJV— consider, expert, instruct, prosper, (deal) prudent (-ly), (give) skill (-ful), have good success, teach, (have, make to) understand (ing), wisdom, (be, behaveself, consider, make) wise (-ly), guide wittingly. Reading, studying, understanding and accepting the prophecy of Jesus’ earthly appearance makes it clear that the “so called” pictures of the Lord Jesus that have been drawn by men are totally FALSE. According to this prophecy, Jesus was neither, beautiful, nor magnificent; fair nor favoured; desired nor handsome. But there were some that were beautiful, fair, favoured and handsome, but according to the previous scripture it was NOT the Lord and

THE PROPHECY OF JESUS’ EARTHLY SUFFERI GS: Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he

had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Matt 8:19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. 23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. (KJV) Matt 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. 3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. WHAT IS TRUTH? SUFFERING 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. 5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. 8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.(KJV) EARTHLY EDUCATIO AL LEVEL OF THE LORD JESUS A D HIS APOSTLES: Matt 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent (intelligent), and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. (KJV) 1 Cor 4:9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. 11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; 12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. 15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. 17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. 2 Cor 10:1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am (1)base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: 2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s. 8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: 9 That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. Definition: (1)base among you5011 tapeinos (tap-i-nos’); of uncertain derivation; depressed, i.e. (figuratively) humiliated (in circumstances or disposition), 1) not rising far from the ground: KJV— base, cast down, humble, of low degree (estate), lowly. 2 Cor 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but

now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. (see also 2 Cor 11:21-28) Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. 12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. 13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. 14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. 15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. 16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? (KJV) Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

WHAT IS TRUTH? SUFFERING 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. (KJV) Phil 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; 26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. 27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. 29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;(KJV) Phil 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be (1)followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us (2)for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who (3)mind (4)earthly things.) 20 For our (5)conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.(KJV) Definitions: (1)followers together of me-4831 summimetes (soom-mim-ay-tace’); from a presumed compound of 4862 and 3401; a co-imitator, i.e. fellow votary, an imitator of others: KJV— follower together.

(3)mind 5426 phroneo (fron-eh’-o); from 5424; to exercise the mind, i.e. entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; by implication, to be (mentally) disposed (more or less earnestly in a certain direction); intensively, to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience): KJV— set the affection on, (be) care (-ful), (be like-, + be of one, + be of the same, + let this) mind (-ed), regard, savour, think. (4)earthly things1919 epigeios (ep-ig’-i-os); from 1909 and 1093; worldly (physically or morally), existing upon the earth, earthly, terrestrial: KJV— earthly, in earth, terrestrial. 1093 ge (ghay); contracted from a primary word; soil; by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe (including the occupants in each application): KJV— country, earth (-ly), ground, land, world. (5)conversation is in heaven-4175 politeuma (pol-it’-yoomah);from 4176; a community, i.e. (abstractly) citizenship (figuratively): KJV— conversation. 1 Tim 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with (1)shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.(KJV) Definition: (1)shamefacedness127 aidos (ahee-doce’);perhaps from 1 (as a negative particle) and 1492 (through the idea of downcast eyes); bashfulness, i.e. (towards men), modesty or (towards God) awe: KJV— reverence, shamefacedness. 1 Pet 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may (1)without (2)the word (3)be won by the (4)conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For after this

manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: 6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any (5)amazement.(KJV) Definitions: (1)without-427 aneu-without one’s will or intervention. (4)by the conversation of the wives391 anastrophe (an-as-trofay’);from 390; behavior, manner of life, conduct, deportment: KJV— conversation. (5)and are not afraid with any amazement-4423 ptoesis (pto’-ay-sis); from 4422; alarm, to be afraid of with terror: KJV— amazement.4422 ptoeo (pto-eh’-o); probably akin to the alternate of 4098 (through the idea of causing to fall) or to 4072 (through that of causing to fly away); to scare: KJV— frighten. WE MUST REMEMBER AS TRUE CHRISTIANS, CHRIST AND HIS APOSTLES ARE OUR EXAMPLES: Matt 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. (KJV) Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) Matt 22:14 For many are (1)called, but few are chosen.

Dear readers remember as always, the purpose of these articles is to seek the TRUTH according to THE WORD, thereby exposing ERROR, for the purpose of saving our souls. We believe this is best done by definitions and the PREPONDERANCE OF SCRIPTURES; which is having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of SCRIPTURE. Again we believe this allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic. Again, thank you so much for your interest in the WORD of TRUTH; GRACE and SALVATION; John 17:17-21; Acts 20:29-32; James1:21-25. After all it is our MAP to HEAVEN and away from HELL, and the continuing in it, is the O LY thing that allows the man of God to be perfect, 2Tim.3:12-17! THE 5TH ANNUAL KEVIN MARSHALL CONFERENCE, MARCH, AND RALLY WAS FANTASTIC By Dr. Victor Keys A King-Size View Fiesta and King Arthur Productions are pleased to announce that the 5th Annual Kevin Marshall Conference, March, and Rally was Fantastic!!! The conference began with a message from God that was delivered by Bishop James W.E. Dixon, II, Pastor of the Community of Faith, and Interim Pastor of the True Light Missionary Baptist Church. Directly following the conference the participants marched behind the Marshall family and to the beat of the Booker T. Washington High School and the High School for the Engineering Professions’ “Baby Ocean of Soul Marching Band”. The parade concluded at Burrus Elementary school, where Principal Jesse Woods a veteran principal at Burrus Elementary School and within the Houston Independent School District, has transformed Burrus Elementary School into one of the best elementary schools in the nation. It is also a beacon for the Independence Heights SuperNeighborhood community. At Burrus Elementary School the Nation of Islam presented Mr. and Mrs. Marshall with a proclamation from the City of Houston. The participants had an opportunity to enjoy the performances of young people and learn what it takes to “Turn to Each Other and Not On Each Other”. Additionally, at the Rally DJ Mike Jones played the sounds that made everybody do the “Wobble” and participants also got to see a “Good Ole Basketball Game”.

ASPEAKER1.COM SCHOLARSHIP DREAM COMES TRUE

with Aaron Watson On Saturday, May 10, 2014 I hosted a scholarship banquet for the community with over 100 attendees in honor of 7 phenomenal high school seniors. I had a vision in 2013 to support and celebrate some of the brightest minds that our communities have produced by way of celebrating them in a formal setting. I really wanted to do something that could give our children a sense of importance and one year later, that vision came to reality as Chandler Brown, Cecily Garcia, Daisha Flowers, Kara Bradley, Kelsey Thompson, Kymberlee Bogan, and Mikyla King became the first ever recipients of the Aspeaker1.com scholarship. The theme of the evening was “True Scholarship inspired by experiences that shaped my life. In my speech that concluded the night, I shared my personal experience and discussed the importance of promoting faith,

integrity and believing in your self. Additionally, I expressed gratitude and that this event could not have been successful without family, friends and the collaborative efforts of the Brandi Deere Foundation and the Brewton Area AAU. To all the student graduating in the year 2014, If I could leave you all with one thing it would be this... school can teach you a lot of things, but it can't teach you to be a good person, that has to come from the heart. I would like to say that this was a blessing for the kids, but I truly believe that the real blessing was for me. This has been a great experience over the last 12 months and has given me the opportunity to dream even bigger that I already dream. So, thank all of you for your support and I look forward to bigger and better things to come.

Good turnout for the scholarship banquet
