Welcome WELCOME, DINERS, TO THE MOST DELICIOUS WEEK OF WINTER! What started in the fall of 2009 as seven days of culinary bliss has grown into a mouth-watering 10 days of winter delight! Welcome to encore’s 2019 Winter Wilmington Restaurant Week. Usually held every spring and fall, our seasonal event was sidetracked from its normal October run after Hurricane Florence came ashore in September and shut down our Port City for quite a while. Numerous restaurants were hurt by the effects of the storm, and some still are recuperating and trying to find their normalcy again. Just like our town’s tenacity and strength, its culinary community didn’t let Flo’s wind and rain keep it down. After giving them time to reopen and make it through the holiday season, encore decided to move restaurant week into winter, and expand its days so diners can get the best deals longer, and from more restaurants than ever! We have over 50 participants this season, offering succulent dining options—many of whom are new to the area, like Steam, Seaside Bagels, Crust, Waterman’s Brewing, Pour Taproom, and True Blue Butcher and Table. We also have decadent standbys returning, like Bluewater, Roko, The George, YoSake, and Dram + Morsel, among others, as well as some who have been around a while but are joining WRW for the first time, like Blue Surf Cafe, Olympia and Greenline Pizza. We are proud to showcase all of the eateries, new and regular alike, that make up the vast palate of our culinary community. WRW features some of their most scrumptious recipes and impressive talents creating prix-fixe menus and specials across the area. A ton of deals are on the table—from French to Italian, seafood to steaks to dinners for two, and so much more! Eat your way through as many of their menus as you can and show them what community means. No matter through what storms we face, support is always available in ILM, to allow us to pick up the pieces, keep moving forward, and become better and stronger along the way.
