“The Hunt for Easter!” will take place at the church on Saturday, April 16. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and run continuously through 1 p.m. Egg hunts for children up to fifth grade will begin at 1 p.m., and a light lunch will be served. All activities are free and open to the community. “There (will be) a welcome table, and we divide (children) into groups of eight or 10 plus their parents. A member of the church youth group will serve as a guide, who will take (participants) from station to station,” Kuharic explained. The first station will depict the birth of Jesus. “Joseph and Mary will be dressed in costume and there will be a baby Jesus,” said Kuharic. This station will also feature live animals. The next station will be set in Nazareth, where children will learn about Joseph. “They will decorate birdhouses in a carpenter shop and talk about Joseph and how Jesus was raised as a carpenter’s son,” noted Kuharic. All materials for decorating the birdhouses will be provided.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Camp Ladybug, an Elizabethtown-based summer program for children and adults with mental or physical challenges. “The people who participate in Camp Ladybug do not have to pay for anything,” Treese noted. “The camp needs financial support to be able to provide its programming.” Treese, who has been playing golf for more than 50 years, said he loves the sport because he’s competing against himself. “I liked team sports, but I found by playing golf, I couldn’t blame anybody else if something went wrong,” he explained. “With golf, you have to prove things to yourself.” He said he’s gotten great feedback over the years for the Pinnacle Cup, which has attracted players from nine states. “I’ve had a number of teams tell me they really enjoy the format,” he remarked. “They have a fun time meeting other people and enjoying a great day of golf.” For more information on the Pinnacle Cup, contact Treese at 717-367-9144 or cdtreese@centurylink.net.

“Letters From Anne and Martin” is an original touring project by the Anne Frank Center. The production is drawn entirely from the text of “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl” and King’s “Letter From a Birmingham Jail.” Starring Parish Bradley as King and Olivia Konteatis as Frank, the performance is directed by Mario Haynes and features sound design by Ilan Ben-Yehuda and moderation by Alexandra Gellner. The Anne Frank Center seeks to use the diary and spirit of Frank as tools to advance Frank’s legacy; to educate young people and communities in the United States and Canada about the dangers of intolerance, anti-
jigsaw puzzles, and board games. Publication dates range from the 1800s to present. Separate fees will be set for hardcovers and for paperbacks. All sales subject to sales tax. For more details, call 717-944-6412 or visit www.middletownpubliclib.org.
