The Hershey Campus of Lancaster Mennonite (LM) School celebrated the commencement of the Class of 2018 at the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey on May 31. The class processional was led by junior marshals Brooklynne Beltz and Ruthanna Eckert. The seniors were joined by family, friends and faculty and staff as they celebrated their final day as seniors. Superintendent Pamela Tieszen opened the ceremony. Former Hershey Christian School history teacher Trevor Kase and former LM Bible teacher Brian Denlinger, along with current Hershey Campus English teacher Curry Snell, were guest speakers. Student speakers Morgan Furjanic, daughter of Martin and Michelle, Harrisburg, and Zachary Neu, son of Kendall and Katharine, Annville, challenged their fellow classmates as they stepped into the next

phase of life. Hershey Campus principal and assistant superintendent Miles Yoder led the traditional turning of the tassels and presented diplomas alongside Tieszen and LM board chair Diane Umble. The highlight of the evening was the traditional “passing of the torch,” symbolized by lighting the candles of the junior class and thus passing the leadership role to them. The 13 members of the Class of 2018 are Morgan Furjanic, Trent Garlin, Jiacheng “Jimmy” He, Logan Hoover, Joshua McCue, Tyler Mills, Hayley Moyer, Zachary Neu, Michael Rosenfeld, Sean Sellers, Darby Seymour, Maggie Shifflett, and Daniel Wagner. The Hershey Campus is located at 1525 Sand Hill Road, Hummelstown. For more information, readers may call 717533-4900 or visit www.lancaster mennonite.org.

Homemade food and baked goods will be available for purchase. A freewill offering will be received. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the meetinghouse. AACA Museum Inc., 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, has announced the arrival of a new Thunderbird in its Williams-Clyne Gateway Gallery, courtesy of the International Thunderbird Club (ITC). A 1965 Ford Thunderbird has arrived and is on loan from Susan Sganga of New Jersey. The exhibit is guest curated by the president of the International Thunderbird Club, Gerard “Bart” Bartasavich. The 1965 Thunderbird, a twodoor hardtop Landau, was built at the Wixom, Mich., assembly plant. The vehicle was then delivered to Country Side Motors located in Springfield where it was sold. Since then, the Thunderbird has been restored to its original exterior color, diamond blue with its original blue vinyl Landau top. The 1965 Thunderbird body, glass and trim, and chrome are in great condition for the age of the car. Its original interior is finished in turquoise blue. It also has a unique slide-away steering wheel. It is powered by the original 390 CID with more than 300 horsepower mated to a three-speed dual range automatic transmission and a 3:00:1 Rear Axle Gear Ratio. A total of 20,974 Landaus No. 63B were produced in 1965. According to the Thunderbird Registry, this is one of only 1,126 registered Thunderbird Landaus remaining and documented in the world. This 1965 Thunderbird is replacing the 1963 Principality of Monaco Thunderbird in the rotating exhibit. Other featured exhibits include Mustangs: Six Generations of America’s Favorite Pony Car, and a 1985 Modena Spyder better known as the Ferris Bueller “Ferrari” in the Historic Vehicle Association Display. For more information on exhibits at the AACA museum, readers may visit www.aaca museum.org.

Hope Within Ministries has named Aimee Bergner as its director of development. She began her role in June. Bergner earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Shippensburg University. For the last 13 years, Bergner has been the center director at Sylvan Learning Center in Palmyra and Lancaster. She brings experience in organizational leadership and development to the position. Bergner lives in Palmyra with her husband and three children.

the second-place student, Elizabeth Pease; and the third-place student, Rory Myers. After studying waterfowl anatomy and habitat, students expressed their newfound knowledge by drawing, painting, or sketching a picture of an eligible North American waterfowl species. The art serves as the final project for this portion of the program curriculum to share what a student learned about waterfowl and habitat conservation. For more information, readers may call 717-273-8551 or visit www.lcctc.edu.
