So participation and turnout are more important than ever.” Each year, about 30 to 40 teams take part in the tournament. “We are hoping for the same turnout, if not more,” Capotrio said. Each team will play at least two games in the tournament. Age brackets include the Rookie Circuit, which is open to students in fourth through sixth grades, and the Junior Circuit, which is for students in seventh and eighth grades. There is also a Senior Circuit, which is open to ninthgraders through adults.

Capital Blue Cross has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania for the fourth consecutive year, placing 23rd among large companies. According to Capital Blue Cross president and CEO Todd Shamash, the designation is awarded based on employees’ evaluations of the company. Most Capital Blue Cross employees began working remotely in March 2020 to best ensure their safety and well-being, while a small number of staff continued to work on-site to provide critical support services. As the COVID-19 pandemic evolved, Capital Blue Cross did, too, reinventing the way its employees work. Many now have full-time remote working status, while some have hybrid inoffice/at-home schedules, and a smaller number work full time on-site. The Best Places to Work rankings were announced

During the “Night of Champions” recognition event, each former team member from the winning rosters was announced by Jack Mariano, Octorara’s public address announcer for its sports teams. These included players from the 10 Octorara championship teams from 1972, 1975, 1986, 1991, 1992, 1999, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016. From 1972 to the present, there have been a total of five Southeastern Clubs Champions League (SCCL) Championships, two ChesMont American Division Champs, two ChesMont League Championships and three District 1 Championships. During his almost 30-year tenure, Wetzel coached four of the SCCL league champs in 1972, 1975, 1991 and 1992 and recorded the first District 1 championship in 1986. In 1999, Octorara captured another SCCL league title led

He has led teams to two additional District 1 championships in 2011 and 2015, two ChesMont American division champs in 2012 and 2015 and two overall ChesMont League championships in 2012 and 2016. Alumna Carla Perella assisted in the event by decorating the gym and creating a championship poster board where the players and coaches were seated in the gym. Lambert reported that Wetzel passed away soon after the “Night of Champions” event took place. “It was nice that he was able to see his old players and to recognize the amount of wins he got,” said Lambert. “Ray and Gary and the former players were very thankful. I did it for all of them. I wanted them to be together again. I wanted to have their names called in that gym. It was a special night.”

STRIVE Toward Better Mental Health “Younger generations are more apt to accept, support, and encourage loved ones to get help (for mental health issues),” said Kim McDevitt, executive director of Mental Health America of Lancaster County (MHALC). “That’s a culture shift,” added McDevitt, who noted that data shows people are being educated about mental health. “That is the only way we will reduce the stigma,” she concluded. McDevitt noted that breaking through the stigma should result in a changed view of overall wellness. “We will be looking at mental health the same way we look at physical health because they’re intertwined,” she shared. “If you aren’t mentally well, you will not be physically well (and vice versa).” Noting that variables associated with COVID-19 have

propelled attitudes toward mental health forward, McDevitt pointed to specific areas where struggles have been clear, including with children and in workplaces. “I think if there’s ever a time to address good mental health support in the workplace, it’s now,” noted McDevitt. “Supervisors need to understand that depression alters the person.” McDevitt added that while job expectations are necessary, flexibility is essential to help maintain employee mental wellness. “Someone who is struggling will be less productive, tardy, not meet deadlines, or be absent. The more (employees are supported) and connected to care, the more they want to give back, and the faster they will want to heal.” According to McDevitt, data is also showing that parents of today’s children are likely to seek support for a child’s mental health needs.

McDevitt noted that teenagers may contact MHALC directly to be connected to resources. Because the northeast portion of the U.S. has higher

A Renovated Space For Events the gymnatorium, where portable basketball hoops will be available for use by attendees of The Factory Youth Center. A landscaped courtyard will be available for appetizers or photos. “The room can hold 309 people with round tables,” noted Nagle, who added that with high top tables more than 500 can be accommodated, and with a dance floor, the capacity will be 350. Phase two of the project will start in the spring. Funded by Redevelopment Authority money from a Community

As the phase one remodel of the gymnatorium in the Together Community Center, 3293 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, neared completion at the end of November, Ellie Green, director of hospitality with The Factory Ministries and Adam Nagle, executive director at The Factory, had nothing but praise for the results. “Stunning,” noted Nagle. Green pointed out that the renovations had opened the ceiling in the 1927 building, formerly the Paradise Elementary School, to expose the steel beams. “It makes you catch your breath,” she noted. Nagle added that the goal has been to preserve the history and look of the room but give it a modern feel. To that end, wood trim around the room and especially the stage has been preserved, and original wood has been salvaged for repairs. Phase one of the remodel, which included the work on the ceiling, updating lighting for both use as a gym and as an event space, and paint, was completed in Factory staff members Ellie Green (left) and Adam Nagle December. in the gymnatorium near the completion of phase one of a Currently, and until phase three-part remodel.

Teams in the tournament vary from groups of dads to moms or teams from Octorara. “One of the nice things about it is that you don’t have to be good at baseball,” said Capotrio. “The soccer team (from Octorara) signs up as a team. We would like to see more girls involved at the youth level. Softball players out there (are invited to) compete.” In addition to crowning the tournament champions, a prize is awarded for Best Dressed Team in each division. “One of the best parts of the tournament is the creativity that people put into their uniforms,” Capotrio said. “You should dress your part as your team’s name. “We’ve had the data for a ADA-accessible. The map was made available while, but we’ve updated it last fall, and parking locations and we’ve gotten the data to a place where we were ready to share it with the public,” said Rachael Griffith, Chester County’s senior trails and open space planner. She noted that the current “beta version” of the map allows the county to collect feedback on the information and usability of the map. “It is a test of the data and the map interface,” she noted. After accessing the map, Odors visitors can find trails in the We Acidic Water county that they may wish to Treat Iron Staining explore. Users can find a trail Bacteria by name or search by surface Hard Water type; however, the map does High Nitrates not include most trails within Drinking Water Systems housing developments or Filters Salt/Chemicals short, isolated segments of trails. “If you click on a trail, a

“This is a good way to let people see what trails are near their house that they may not have been to before or (find) hidden gems,” said Griffith. box pops up with information on the trail, its surface and what uses are permitted,” Griffith noted. What makes the map interactive is that hikers and walkers who use the trails can add input to the map and provide feedback. Users may rate a favorite trail, add comments, upload images and submit errors. “We recognize that this is the first time that this map has been released to the public and that data will not be perfect. We want people to explore the trails knowing that,” Griffith said. “In the ‘About’ tab, people can add comments. If there is something that is inaccurate or there is a trail that is not showing, people can add one or add a comment about a specific trail.” For example, she noted, if there is a trail that does not allow horses, but the map indicates that it does, people can leave a comment that the trail’s only uses are for walking and biking. “The more people that add comments, the better the data will be,” Griffith stated. She said that during the pandemic, people in the county frequented the more popular outdoor trails, especially the Chester Valley Trail, which became overcrowded.

PA residents scramble to get last Walking Liberty Rolls PENNSYLVANIA - Once Pennsylvania residents got wind that Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls filled with Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s were being handed over, there was a mad dash to get them. That’s because some of these U.S. Gov’t issued silver coins are already worth hundreds in collector value. “It’s like a run on the banks. The phones are ringing off the hook. That’s because everyone is trying to get them before they’re all gone,” according to officials at the National Mint and Treasury who say they can barely keep up with all the orders. In fact, they had to impose a strict limit of 4 Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls. So, if you get the chance to get your hands on these State Restricted Bank Rolls you better hurry because hundreds of Pennsylvania residents al-

ready have and you don’t want to miss out. You see, the U.S. Gov’t stopped minting these Silver Walking Liberties in 1947 and there can never be any more which makes them extremely collectible. And here’s the best part. The rolls are unsearched so there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value. That’s why at just the $39 state minimum set by National Mint and Treasury it’s a deal too good to pass up. But you better hurry because these Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls are the only ones known to exist and Pennsylvania residents are grabbing them up as fast as they can. That’s because they make amazing gifts for children, grandchildren and loved ones. Just imagine the look on their face when you hand them one of the State Restricted Rolls — they’ll tell everyone they know what you did for them.

Q GOT ‘EM: Residents all across Pennsylvania who get their hands on these State Restricted Silver Walking Liberty Bank Rolls are definitely showing them off. That’s because they are the only ones known to exist. And here’s the best part, these Bank Rolls are loaded with U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberty coins some dating back to the early 1900’s and worth up to 100 times their face value so everyone wants them.

Last State Restricted Silver Walking Liberty Bank Rolls go to Pennsylvania residents Pennsylvania residents get first dibs on last remaining Bank Rolls loaded with U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value for the next 2 days STATE DISTRIBUTION: A strict limit of 4 State Restricted Bank Rolls per PA resident has been imposed SILVER: one of the last silver coins minted for circulation

ENLARGED TO SHOW DETAIL: year varies 1916-1947

FACTS:

Are these Silver Walking Liberties worth more than other half dollars:

LAST REMAINING: minted in philadelphia, denver & san francisco

RARELY SEEN: minted by the u.s. mint in the early 1900’s

If you are a Pennsylvania State Resident read the important information below about claiming the State Silver Bank Rolls, then call the State Toll-Free Hotline at 8:30 am: 1-800-979-3771 EXT: RWB3533 Yes. These U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties were minted in the early 1900’s and will never be minted again. That makes them extremely collectible. The vast majority of half dollars minted after 1970 have no silver content at all and these Walking Liberties were one of the last silver coins minted for circulation. That’s why many of them now command hundreds in collector value so there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value someday.

How much are State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls worth:

It’s impossible to say, but some of these U.S Gov’t issued Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s are worth up to 100 times the face value and there are 15 in each Bank Roll so you better hurry if you want to get your hands on them. Collector values always fluctuate and there are never any guarantees. But we do know they are the only Pennsylvania State Silver Bank Rolls known to exist and Walking Liberties are highly collectible so anyone lucky enough to get their hands on these Silver Bank Rolls should hold onto them because there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value someday.

Why are so many Pennsylvania residents claiming them:

Because they are the only State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls known to exist and everyone wants their share. Each Bank Roll contains a whopping 15 Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value. Best of all Pennsylvania residents are guaranteed to get them for the state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury of just $39 per Silver Walking Liberty for the next two days.

How do I get the State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls:

Pennsylvania residents are authorized to claim up to the limit of 4 State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls by calling the State Toll Free Hotline at 1-800-979-3771 Ext. RWB3533 starting at precisely 8:30 am this morning. Everyone who does is getting the only State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls known to exist. That’s a full Bank Roll containing 15 Silver Walking Liberties from the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value for just the state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury of just $39 per Silver Walking Liberty, which is just $585 for the full Bank Rolls and that’s a real steal because non state residents are not permitted to call before 5 pm tomorrow and must pay $1,770 for each Pennsylvania State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Roll if any remain.

R080047

PENNSYLVANIA - “It’s a miracle these State Restricted Bank Rolls even exist. That’s why Hotline Operators are bracing for the flood of calls,” said Laura Lynne, U.S. Coin and Currency Director for the National Mint and Treasury. For the next 2 days the last remaining State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls loaded with rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties are actually being handed over to Pennsylvania residents who call the State Toll-Free Hotlines listed in today’s newspaper publication. “National Mint and Treasury recently spoke with its Chief Professional Numismatist who said ‘Very few people have ever actually saw one of these rarely seen Silver Walking Liberties issued by the U.S. Gov’t back in the early 1900’s. But to actually find them sealed away in State Restricted Bank Rolls is like finding buried treasure. So anyone lucky enough to get their hands on these Bank Rolls had better hold on to them,’” Lynne said. “Now that the State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls are being offered up we won’t be surprised if thousands of Pennsylvania residents claim the maximum limit allowed of 4 Bank Rolls per resident before they’re all gone,” said Lynne. “That’s because after the Bank Rolls were loaded with 15 rarely seen Silver Walking Liberties, each verified to meet a minimum collector grade of very good or above, the dates and mint marks of the U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars sealed away inside the State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls have never been searched. But, we do know that some of these coins date clear back to the early 1900’s and are worth up to 100 times their face value, so there is no telling what Pennsylvania residents will find until they sort through all the coins,” Lynne went on to say. And here’s the best part. If you are a resident of the state of Pennsylvania you cover only the $39 per coin state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury, that’s fifteen rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties worth up to 100 times their face value for just $585 which is a real steal because non state residents must pay $118 per coin which totals $1,770 if any coins remain after the 2-day deadline. The only thing Pennsylvania residents need to do is call the State Toll-Free Hotlines printed in today’s newspaper publication before the 2-day order deadline ends. “Rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued silver coins like these are highly sought after, but we’ve never seen anything like this before. According to The Official Red Book, a Guide Book of United States Coins many Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars are now worth $40 - $825 each in collector value,” Lynne said. “We’re guessing thousands of Pennsylvania residents will be taking the maximum limit of 4 Bank Rolls because they make such amazing gifts for any occasion for children, parents, grandparents, friends and loved ones,” Lynne continued. “We know the phones will be ringing off the hook. That’s why hundreds of Hotline Operators are standing by to answer the phones beginning at 8:30 am this morning. We’re going to do our best, but with just 2 days to answer all the calls it won’t be easy. So make sure to tell everyone to keep calling if all lines are busy. We’ll do our best to answer them all.” Lynne said. The only thing readers of today’s newspaper publication need to do is make sure they are a resident of the state of Pennsylvania and call the National Toll-Free Hotlines before the 2-day deadline ends midnight tomorrow. Events from pg 3 Nagle explained that the broader vision for remodeling the gymnatorium is twofold. The building, which was sold to the ministry for $1 in 2017 by the Pequea Valley School District, provides a home for the youth center, social services, a food pantry, and more, but costs to maintain the structure are high. “The heart of this was to find a way that 100% of a donation (to the ministry) goes to programs and staff that support the program,” said Nagle. The second goal was to resolve an issue identified by Project Activate, a program of the Lancaster Community Foundation designed to bring about positive change by building a more inclusive community. “Project Activate discovered there is not a gathering space in this area for events,” said Nagle. “We look at our mission as empowering people, connecting them to resources, and building community. (This remodel) dovetails with our mission of building strong community.” Readers who would like to learn more about The Factory Ministries may visit www. thefactoryministries.com. Those who are interested in renting the room may call 717-687-9594.

Grants from pg 8 will focus on and fund clients with the highest level of need. This program allows agencies to provide immediate assistance until Medicaid or other assistance is available. The board of directors of the Pennsylvania Homecare Association has seeded the Home Care Grant program with an initial donation of $100,000. The Pennsylvania Foundation for Home Care and Hospice will continue to seek funding to support and expand the program. More information on grant eligibility and application forms can be found at www.pahomecare.org/foun dation. The Pennsylvania Foundation for Home Care and Hospice is a nonprofit organization created to promote and support home health, home care, and hospice in Pennsylvania through community awareness, enhancement of career paths for the home health care workforce, and financial assistance for customers of home care.
