Atlantic League Professional Baseball (ALPB) and its clubs announced the introduction of Ballpark Pass, a new concept that will allow any full season ticket holder entry to any ballgame at any park throughout the Atlantic League. There are no limits on how often fans may use their season ticket to gain admission to another park, though certain local conditions may apply. When buying season tickets from an ALPB club, fans will receive an identifying marker for each purchased season ticket. Fans can receive a complimentary ticket at the visiting ballpark for each season ticket that they own. A fan who has four Lancaster Barnstormers season tickets can receive four complimentary admissions to any ALPB regular season game.

Anyone can participate in Red Cross Month by visiting www.redcross.org to make a financial donation, donate blood, become a volunteer, or take a class in lifesaving skills, such as first aid and CPR. On Wednesday, March 23, individuals can also join the annual Red Cross Giving Day campaign by donating at www.redcross.org/givingday to help provide shelter, food, relief items, emotional support, and other assistance for people affected by disasters.

In March, the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross will honor the people who make its mission possible every day during its annual Red Cross Month celebration. This national tradition started nearly 80 years ago when President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first national Red Cross Month proclamation recognizing those who give back through the American Red Cross. Each U.S. president has issued a proclamation ever since.

The Red Cross blood supply remains extremely vulnerable, especially as doctors begin to resume elective surgeries previously delayed by COVID-19’s omicron variant. To make an appointment, visit www.red crossblood.org, call 800-RED CROSS, or download the Red Cross Blood Donor App. Donors who come in to give during March will receive an e-gift card and will be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2022 MLB AllStar Game in Los Angeles, Calif.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to graduating seniors planning to attend postsecondary education. Recipients must be U.S. citizens and Lancaster County residents with a family member who is currently serving or has served honorably in the U.S. military. Selection for this award is based on the individual’s scholastic record, extracurricular activities, and community service with emphasis on demonstrated leadership abilities. The award recipient will be announced in May, and the recipient and his or her parents will be hosted for recognition at Lancaster Chapter MOAA’s June dinner meeting. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, March 30.

Lancaster EMS was recently reaccreditated by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), a nonprofit organization established to encourage and promote quality patient care as well as high professional and ethical standards. CAAS has established national standards that not only address the delivery of patient care, but also an ambulance service’s operations and its relationships with other agencies, community members, and the entire medical community. The EMS accreditation includes successful completion of a comprehensive application and an in-depth, onsite survey by a team of national EMS experts. Accreditation must be renewed every three years. Lancaster EMS obtained its original accreditation in 2005. It reported that it is the only CAAS-accreditated ambulance service provider in Lancaster County, one of five in Pennsylvania and one of 192 in the United States. To learn more about CAAS, visit www.caas.org.

Faith, Family, Farming BY WENDY ROYAL

The Sauder family consists of Tina, Duane, Morgan and Riley.

AU005320

R081171

With the average farm in Lancaster County being 77 acres, Glory Be Farm in Manheim is considered small. Duane and Tina Sauder purchased the farm, where they raise Berkshire pigs, 23 years ago. Still, it wasn’t until January 2020 that they took the crucial first steps to make their small business dreams a reality. Just before the pandemic hit, the Sauders launched their pork snack line. Fast forward two years, and the business continues to grow. In addition to online sales, several Glory Be Farm products bearing the PA Preferred label can be purchased at locations in Manheim, Mount Joy, Lititz, Ephrata, and Elizabethtown. While selling their products is vital to the farm’s success, it’s the lifestyle that makes it meaningful for the Sauders. Like many local farmers, Duane and Tina come from

multigenerational farms. The ninth generation of Tina’s family is currently working the Elizabethtown farm where she grew up. For the Sauders’ two daughters, helping out on the farm is part of their normal day. From assisting with the births of piglets to mucking out the stalls, 16-year-old Riley and 13-year-old Morgan share the responsibilities of the family farm. Both girls are involved in 4-H and show pigs, beef, and goats. Passing a farm on to the next generation is often a challenge as children grow up and have interests apart from farming. “We’re blessed to be able to raise them in this lifestyle and culture. … It’s a passion and a lifestyle that you don’t clock out from,” explained Tina. A florist by trade, Tina had to cut back her hours to focus more time on the farm. When talking about launching the pork snack line just before the pandemic hit, Tina said, “People were (focusing on) getting back to their roots, shopping local. So, while the world was turning upside down, it was a

good time to start the business, but we didn’t know that.” The Sauders share their farm life with followers on social media. With the popularity of farmhouse style, Tina says, many people think farming is a peaceful way of life, and they roman-

ticize it. Using social media allows her to connect with people to share the culture and dispel myths associated with farming. “We love our livestock, and we always say that they have one bad day. …We give them the best life we can (before that day),” she noted. See Farming pg 11

The Sauders’ other goal is to raise awareness. “We’re looking to bridge the gap. … Americans are at least three generations removed from the farm. … It’s our job not only to provide but to educate,” said Tina. Though Glory Be Farm may be small, Duane and Tina’s passion for farming is vast. “It’s so important for us to inspire others to go after their dreams because there were times in our lives that were hardships, and the

dream seemed unattainable. One time my husband and I were talking about it, and my husband said, ‘Well, if that ever happens, glory be to God,’ and that’s where the name (of the farm) came from,” Tina said. When asked if she had an advice for those considering farming or achieving any goal, Tina responded, “You have to take that first step of faith, because you can’t steer a parked car very well.”

PA residents scramble to get last Walking Liberty Rolls PENNSYLVANIA - Once Pennsylvania residents got wind that Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls filled with Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s were being handed over, there was a mad dash to get them. That’s because some of these U.S. Gov’t issued silver coins are already worth hundreds in collector value. “It’s like a run on the banks. The phones are ringing off the hook. That’s because everyone is trying to get them before they’re all gone,” according to officials at the National Mint and Treasury who say they can barely keep up with all the orders. In fact, they had to impose a strict limit of 4 Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls. So, if you get the chance to get your hands on these State Restricted Bank Rolls you better hurry because hundreds of Pennsylvania residents already have and you don’t want to miss out. You see, the U.S. Gov’t stopped minting these

Silver Walking Liberties in 1947 and there can never be any more which makes them extremely collectible. And here’s the best part. The rolls are unsearched so there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value. That’s why at just the $39 state minimum set by National Mint and Treasury it’s a deal too good to pass up. But you better hurry because these Pennsylvania State Restricted Bank Rolls are the only ones known to exist and Pennsylvania residents are grabbing them up as fast as they can. That’s because they make amazing gifts for children, grandchildren and loved ones. Just imagine the look on their face when you hand them one of the State Restricted Rolls — they’ll tell everyone they know what you did for them.

Q GOT ‘EM: Residents all across Pennsylvania who get their hands on these State Restricted Silver Walking Liberty Bank Rolls are definitely showing them off. That’s because they are the only ones known to exist. And here’s the best part, these Bank Rolls are loaded with U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberty coins some dating back to the early 1900’s and worth up to 100 times their face value so everyone wants them.

Last State Restricted Silver Walking Liberty Bank Rolls go to Pennsylvania residents Pennsylvania residents get first dibs on last remaining Bank Rolls loaded with U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value for the next 2 days STATE DISTRIBUTION: A strict limit of 4 State Restricted Bank Rolls per PA resident has been imposed

PENNSYLVANIA - “It’s a miracle these State Restricted Bank Rolls even exist. That’s why Hotline Operators are bracing for the flood of calls,” said Laura Lynne, U.S. Coin and Currency Director for the National Mint and Treasury. For the next 2 days the last remaining State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls loaded with rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties are actually being handed over to Pennsylvania residents who call the State Toll-Free Hotlines listed in today’s newspaper publication. “National Mint and Treasury recently spoke with its Chief Professional Numismatist who said ‘Very few people have ever actually seen one of these rarely seen Silver Walking Liberties issued by the U.S. Gov’t back in the early 1900’s. But to actually find them sealed away in State Restricted Bank Rolls is like finding buried treasure. So anyone lucky enough to get their hands on these Bank Rolls had better hold on to them,’” Lynne said. “Now that the State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls are being offered up we won’t be surprised if thousands of Pennsylvania residents claim the maximum limit allowed of 4 Bank Rolls per resident before they’re all gone,” said Lynne. “That’s because after the Bank Rolls were loaded with 15 rarely seen Silver Walking Liberties, each verified to meet a minimum collector grade of very good or above, the dates and mint marks of the U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars sealed away inside the State of Pennsylvania Restricted Bank Rolls have never been searched. But, we do know that some of these coins date clear back to the early 1900’s and are worth up to 100 times their face value, so there is no telling what Pennsylvania residents will find until they sort through all the coins,” Lynne went on to say. And here’s the best part. If you are a resident of the state of Pennsylvania you cover only the $39 per coin state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury, that’s fifteen rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties worth up to 100 times their face value for just $585 which is a real steal because non state residents must pay $118 per coin which totals $1,770 if any coins remain after the 2-day deadline. The only thing Pennsylvania residents need to do is call the State Toll-Free Hotlines printed in today’s newspaper publication before the 2-day order deadline ends. “Rarely seen U.S. Gov’t issued silver coins like these are highly sought after, but we’ve never seen anything like this before. According to The Official Red Book, a Guide Book of United States Coins many Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars are now worth $40 - $825 each in collector value,” Lynne said. “We’re guessing thousands of Pennsylvania residents will be taking the maximum limit of 4 Bank Rolls because they make such amazing gifts for any occasion for children, parents, grandparents, friends and loved ones,” Lynne continued. “We know the phones will be ringing off the hook. That’s why hundreds of Hotline Operators are standing by to answer the phones beginning at 8:30 am this morning. We’re going to do our best, but with just 2 days to answer all the calls it won’t be easy. So make sure to tell everyone to keep calling if all lines are busy. We’ll do our best to answer them all.” Lynne said. The only thing readers of today’s newspaper publication need to do is make sure they are a resident of the state of Pennsylvania and call the National Toll-Free Hotlines before the 2-day deadline ends midnight tomorrow. Q

SILVER: one of the last silver coins minted for circulation

ENLARGED TO SHOW DETAIL: year varies 1916-1947

FACTS:

LAST REMAINING: minted in philadelphia, denver & san francisco

RARELY SEEN: minted by the u.s. mint in the early 1900’s

HOW TO CLAIM THE LAST STATE RESTRICTED BANK ROLLS If you are a Pennsylvania State Resident read the important information below about claiming the State Silver Bank Rolls, then call the State Toll-Free Hotline at 8:30 am: 1-800-979-3771 EXT: RWB4271

Are these Silver Walking Liberties worth more than other half dollars:

How much are State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls worth:

Why are so many Pennsylvania residents claiming them:

How do I get the State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls:

Yes. These U.S. Gov’t issued Silver Walking Liberties were minted in the early 1900’s and will never be minted again. That makes them extremely collectible. The vast majority of half dollars minted after 1970 have no silver content at all and these Walking Liberties were one of the last silver coins minted for circulation. That’s why many of them now command hundreds in collector value so there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value someday. It’s impossible to say, but some of these U.S Gov’t issued Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s are worth up to 100 times the face value and there are 15 in each Bank Roll so you better hurry if you want to get your hands on them. Collector values always fluctuate and there are never any guarantees. But we do know they are the only Pennsylvania State Silver Bank Rolls known to exist and Walking Liberties are highly collectible so anyone lucky enough to get their hands on these Silver Bank Rolls should hold onto them because there’s no telling how much they could be worth in collector value someday. Because they are the only State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls known to exist and everyone wants their share. Each Bank Roll contains a whopping 15 Silver Walking Liberties dating back to the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value. Best of all Pennsylvania residents are guaranteed to get them for the state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury of just $39 per Silver Walking Liberty for the next two days. Pennsylvania residents are authorized to claim up to the limit of 4 State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls by calling the State Toll Free Hotline at 1-800-979-3771 Ext. RWB4271 starting at precisely 8:30 am this morning. Everyone who does is getting the only State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Rolls known to exist. That’s a full Bank Roll containing 15 Silver Walking Liberties from the early 1900’s some worth up to 100 times their face value for just the state minimum set by the National Mint and Treasury of just $39 per Silver Walking Liberty, which is just $585 for the full Bank Rolls and that’s a real steal because non state residents are not permitted to call before 5 pm tomorrow and must pay $1,770 for each Pennsylvania State Restricted Walking Liberty Silver Bank Roll if any remain.

Wiederseim To Sell Collection Of Ed And Carol Stoudt Of Stoudts’ Black Angus Brewery and Pub Sale To Take Place In Phoenixville On July 24

Pick it up at your favorite antique shop or read it online at antiquesandauctionnews.net This is a vintage Wurlitzer juke box. Wiederseim Associates is pleased to offer the private collection of Carol and Ed Stoudt for auction on Saturday, July 24, at 9 a.m. The sale includes the contents of the legendary Stoudt’s Black Angus d i

The couple opened the Black Angus Antique Mall along with the restaurant and beer garden in the 1980s. Business was good. Why not open a brewery? Based on German beers brewed in the i h i b di i h

for their business and home. They assembled items such as Black Forest carved furniture (including two tall case clocks), whimsical circus novelties, Art Nouveau

running rooster, vintage posters, a large collection of German steins, a restored 1932 Auburn Convertible and a 1937 Ford Woody, partially restored, all of which will be in the July 24 sale. “If you’ve ever been to Stoudt’s, you’ll be very familiar with the items in this sale and won’t want to miss it. The Emporium will give away three gift certificates at the end of the month. Three lucky customers will have a chance to win a $50, $25, or $15 gift certificate to the multidealer shop. Students age 8 and up who want to obtain onstage singing experience are invited to attend Discover Your Voice Camp this summer. Camp will be held at Sopranojam Music Studio (formerly Bella Voce Studio), 120 College Ave., Mountville, with sessions from Saturday, June 11, to Saturday, June 18, and from Sunday, July 10, to Sunday, July 17. Camp will run from noon to 4:30 p.m. most days. Features of the camp will include the Voice Color Wheel, a focus on stage presence and stage directions, arts and crafts, games, and activities. The last day of camp will feature a showcase performance, in which campers will perform a show; each student will participate in a feature presentation as well as group numbers with simple choreography, acting, and blocking. The camp is designed to equip young singing students in cultivating the gift of singing and performing publicly. Students will be given songs that suit their voice type, style, ability, and comfort level. They will receive step-by-step guidance as they work with a coach and progress from a small group setting to a larger group setting and from a small room to a stage with a microphone. There is a registration fee, with a discount for those who sign up by Saturday, April 30. Payment options are available for early registrants, as well. Space is limited, and registration will be open until camps are full. Additionally, there will be a tuition giveaway for two people to win a scholarship to Discover Your Voice Camp. There are four ways to enter, with people receiving one entry for each: they may register for camp by Friday, April 1, with winners having their fee refunded; they may refer friends or family members by tagging them on Sopranojam’s

social media accounts or having them register for camp; they may follow @sopranojam on Facebook and/or @soprano_jam on Instagram; and they may join the email list. Studio owner and camp director Julie Stone will announce the winner at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, via Facebook Live. To register or for more information, visit www.soprano jam.com.

The Lancaster Barnstormers recently hosted Pack the Park, a collection of nonperishable food items, new clothing, toiletries, and other items for those in need in the surrounding community. Donated items were distributed to nearly a dozen community groups, including Lancaster Food Hub, Crispus Attucks Community Center, and Tenfold. Overall, 28 skids of product, totaling over 20,000 pounds, were collected. In addition to donations from individuals and families, several local businesses made contributions, including Grove Collaborative, Johnson & Johnson, Hess Brothers, and Gap View Farm Market. The Lancaster Barnstormers is headed into its 18th year in Atlantic League Professional Baseball. For more information, call 717-5094487 or visit www.lancaster barnstormers.com.
