1922 Born to farmer parents in 1900 in the North of Meuse department in France, Henri Hutin founded a craft soft-ripened cheese plant in Lacroix-sur Meuse in 1922. His recipes, know-how and rigour quickly earned him a reputation for excellence in the region as well as across France, and the title of “Master Cheese Maker.”
1964 In 1960, Henri Hutin introduced Belletoile, the first triple crème ever exported to the USA. During this time, the company began to increase its turnover significantly by expanding its exports to the countries of the European Community as well as across the world. Henri Hutins’ efforts were rewarded with an “Export Oscar” in 1964.
1978 In December of 1978, Hochland, the German cheesemaking group purchased the company from Mr. Hutin. After purchasing the facility, Hochland transferred the company to Dieue-sur Meuse and estatablished a modernised and enlarged cheese plant with a brand new state-of-the-art facility.

As of January 2018, Henri Hutin became the first French cheese manufacturer to be certified VLOG non-GMO. The VLOG non-GMO certification ensures products produced by Henri Hutin are guaranteed non-GMO. In 2018, the company was able to fully remove all GMO feed for cows as well as all GMO milk and cream from their softripened cheeses. In addition to the VLOG non-GMO certification, Henri Hutin has also received their 14001 certification, an international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). Waste water that is generated by production is treated at their own treatment station in order to preserve the environment surrounding the facility. The waste is then sorted and shipped to subsidaries specialised in environmentally friendly waste processing.

• Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. • In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Add the Montchevre blueberry and vanilla goat log and butter and use a fork or your hands to mix until coarse little crumbs form. • Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Stir with a large spoon until just combined. Fold in the blueberries. • Pat the dough into a circle that is about 1 1/2 inches thick. • Cut the dough into rounds and place on a nonstick baking sheet. • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden and high. Let cool slightly before serving.
• Whisk all ingredients except for cheese vigorously until the crepe batter is completely smooth; allow it to rest in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before making into crepes. • Melt a little butter into a large skillet over low-medium heat. Add 3 tablespoons of batter to the pan and swirl until the bottom of the pan is covered with batter. Cook the crepe for 1 minute, or until the crepe is slightly moist on top and golden underneath. • Loosen the edges of the crepe and gently flip it upside down in the pan. Add 2 oz of le Cremeux to top of crepe and fold over. • Cook for 1 minute and transfer the cooked crepe to a plate. Sprinkle orange zest over top of crepe.
