COMEDY MUSIC THEATRE LOCAL THEATRE FAMILY DANCE ENTERTAINMENT FILM
Dear Theatregoers, The Epstein Theatre is delighted to welcome you to its wonderful March – September 2018 season. We’re proud to announce a whole host of top class entertainment, including returning favourites and brand new exciting productions! Kicking things off in spectacular fashion on 25th February with a song and dance extravaganza, it’s the unique sound of The New Jersey Boys who take over for one night only! The music doesn’t stop there as we’ve got every genre you could wish for coming up in the months ahead. The Spirit of Elvis is guaranteed to get you all shook up and dancing in the aisles on 10th March but if it’s atmospheric vocals you’re after, then look no further as Wuthering Heights celebrates The Music of Kate Bush on 29th May. And that’s not to mention the four lads from Liverpool, The Mersey Beatles, who return home to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary White Album on 15th June. As always, we continue to bring you some of the best names in comedy and this season is no exception with the remarkable Joe Lycett selling out not one but two nights at the Epstein in a matter of minutes! If you missed out on that then fear not because local favourites Hot Water Comedy Club have you covered with regular live comedy specials that prove just why their shows are the most talked about in town… But be quick, these tickets don’t hang around long! There’s plenty for the kids too and you can be sure to find something your little Epsteinee will love with Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday bringing a Cbeebies favourite to the stage on 8th May and
best selling classic Dear Zoo is brought to life for the very first time with four performances on 12th and 13th May. Now we know what you’re thinking… It wouldn’t be Easter without another egg-cellent pantomime and this year we’re saying hello to Ray Quinn who leads an all star cast in Jack and the Beanstalk, taking families on a giant adventure from 30th March - 8th April! If all that wasn’t enough there are still plenty of other gems in this packed out season. We’ve got the world premiere of Lennon’s Banjo, a brand new comedy about the disappearance of Lennon’s first musical instrument and the hunt to find it from 24th April – 5th May and former Beatle, Pete Best taking to the stage for three performances! If Shakespeare is more your thing then you’ll not want to miss the return of the critically acclaimed A Midsummer Night’s Dream which plays as part of an alternating repertoire with the greatest love story of all time, Romeo & Juliet from 11th - 21st April. From myself and the entire team at the Epstein, we would like to offer a huge thank you for your continued support with regards to our restoration levy which has allowed us to make improvements to the theatre as we strive to deliver the very best for our loyal audience. We look forward to seeing you very soon at our beautiful city centre theatre. Best wishes, Rebekah Pichilingi & The Epstein Team

Albert and Harold; father and son. One proclaims he’s “a poor old man” while the other protests that actually he’s “a dirty old man!” In actual fact, both are telling the truth. These two warring rag-and-bone-men, in their Shepherd’s Bush scrapyard home, became household favourites for entire generations throughout the 60s and 70s and still they continue to entertain audiences today. Now it’s time to relive some of their finest misadventures through this brand new production. Marking fifty-five years since the show’s first ever broadcast, Hambledon Productions (Hancock’s Half Hour – The Lost Episodes, Educating Rita, Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show) breathe life back into the Steptoe household with this faithful, fresh and hilarious adaptation of original episodes from the longrunning smash hit BBC sitcom.
“I can’t recommend it enough!” Playhouse Pickings
“Both of the leads were excellent. An obvious respect, love and affection is shown to the originals. Just go!” Audience Club
The youngest member of the world-famous Osmond family is joined by The Moon River Band with special guest stars Charlie Green and Emily Penny, and naturally a show with an Osmond would not be complete without some of the chart-topping hits that made Jimmy and his brothers famous. Come and relive the dream with Jimmy Osmond singing the songs of Andy Williams. VIP Ticket Holders - Come and enjoy the sound check prior to the show. Meet Jimmy, have your photo taken with him, get an autograph, and hear him and the band sing a unique song that won’t be part of the show. Also get a complimentary CD. KING KING Thu 10 May, Starts: 7:30pm, Tickets: £21 Right now, King King are a band breaking into a swagger. There’s no denying the momentum of the Glasgow rockers saluted as “the best blues-rock band in the world” (Blues Rock Review) – but for Alan Nimmo (vocals/guitar), Lindsay Coulson (bass), Wayne Proctor (drums) and new keyboard player Jonny Dyke, it’s far from mission accomplished. “We’re not stopping to smell the roses,” says Alan. “We want to take this band as far as we can.” In another year of quantum leaps, perhaps the main event in 2017 is Exile & Grace, released October 6th. “There’s an underlying theme on this fourth album,” explains Alan. “Some of the main songs are about the state of the world, y’know, this beautiful blue planet that’s turning into a battlefield. There’s an edgier, rockier feel this time around, but you’ve got the soulful ballads as well. It’s still King King. It’s just what we’re doing now.”
