The foundation of the Jersey herd came from Ratliffs, Garnett, KS; Meadow View, Pine Grove, PA; Covingtons, Leon, IA; Buttercrest, Croton, OH; and Avon Road, Alma Center, WI. The Golden Medow Dairy Jersey herd has ranked in the top ten in the nation for JPI. The girls have received many local, state, and national production awards. The future of the herd focused on breeding great production cows to high type genetics, and success in the show ring. In 2010, all breeds were switched to 100% sexed semen. These cows will adapt to any operation, as they are milked twice a day in tie stalls and have daily access to sand-bedded freestalls. During the summer they are grazed on a pasture rotation.
