HARDWOOD FARM CONTINUES ON! Donna and I have sold the Livingston dairy farm, along with the two Montfort properties, to our son Chuck.
Chuck has managed the dairy for a number of years. The sale also included the few remaining cattle that we still owned, as well as all feed, machinery, vehicles, and other personal property. The November 19, 2015 test sheet showed 94 cows. The Dec 1st classification listed 43 Excellent cows, along with 3 permanently Excellent dry donors. All but two carry the Hardwood prefix. The two exceptions are: 1) A daughter of a show cow that Chuck owned with Culbertson and Kietzman. 2) A daughter of a pregnant heifer purchased from Steve Holte. Hardwood Farm has long focused on outstanding type with high production of quality milk from cattle with great longevity. This is a conventionally fed stanchioned herd with no TMR. We have long experienced a very high demand for private purchase of breeding stock. You can count on them as being as represented.
