Two years – CTEC

If you have not got your health, what have you got? On this stimulating course, you will explore questions such as, how does a disease, such as diabetes, impact on individuals? How do you become an effective communicator? If you are looking for a career as a nurse, midwife, social worker, teacher or other care professional and want to develop your skills and understanding that are directly relevant, then this is the qualification for you.

Reasons to join us…

The course is up to 50% courseworkbased, giving you maximum opportunity to achieve a Distinction in your studies. There is also an opportunity to organise work experience both locally and at a well-known voluntary organisation called Revitalise. Revitalise work experience allows you to work with disabled adults for a week for a minimum cost.

What will I study?

On this course you will cover many aspects of health and social care, including nutrition for health, developing effective communication, anatomy and physiology, equality and diversity, sexual health, reproduction and early development, health and safety and nutrition for all.

You will also have the opportunity to do some volunteering and work experience at well-known organisations like Revitalise during your studies.

This is the equivalent to one full A level in Health and Social Care.

What’s next?

Our students go on to a variety of further training and careers. Some of our most recent students have gone on to adult nursing, learning disability nursing, social work, midwifery, operating department practice, and primary teaching.
