Two years – T Level

The T Level qualification is an exciting brand new two-year full-time course which has been designed in partnership with businesses and employers that is aimed to give you the knowledge and skills to support your move into a career in health or science.

You’ll gain excellent work experience in the health sector as well as gaining the knowledge and experience you’ll need for applying to study competitive health care courses at university.

What will I study?

During the two-year programme, you will develop the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of health occupations.

You will gain an understanding of health and science including: working within the health and science sector; health, safety and environmental regulations; managing information and data; principles of good scientific and clinical practice; core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules and; genetics, microbiology and immunology.

You will also undertake a high quality, structured and outcomes-focused industry placement, this is an integral part of the new T Level programme. The industry placement will be aligned to your career aspirations identified in your career plan which will be 315 hours and could include up to two employers.

The industry placements will support you to develop a breadth of new skills to provide you with a valuable opportunity to progress towards your career goals.

What’s next?

Progression onto university to study health care, nursing or other related degree programmes, higher apprenticeships or employment in the health and science sectors.
