What are T Levels?

Two years – BTEC

The single A level equivalent course is ideal for those that have enjoyed the theoretical aspects of GCSE PE and are keen to advance their knowledge by studying sport and exercise science. There is a mixture of theory and practical in this academically challenging subject that works well when chosen with Biology, Health & Social Care and Business, amongst many others.

The facilities are state-of-the-art including sports hall, climbing wall, fitness suite, and a FIFA 1 Standard FA-accredited Astro Turf football pitch. The teamwork and employability skills that you will develop during the course will be helpful for any future career in any industry.

We are a TASS Dual Career Accredited Centre and can provide additional support towards your studies and sports performance.

What will I study?

Covering a mixture of theory and practical, in year one of the course you will study subjects such as functional anatomy and specialised fitness training.

In year two you will study applied sport and exercise psychology and coaching for performance and fitness.

What’s next?

The majority of students progress onto higher education and study degrees in sport and exercise science, physiotherapy, sports therapy or sports coaching. Other options include advanced apprenticeships in personal training, community sport and health officer, advanced coach in sport and physical activity, amongst many more.
