Music Technology has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ within the College for over a decade due to continual high grades, high success rates and the 100% pass rate! Our former students have had the opportunity to work with signed bands on projects including music videos and album releases as well as TV and film soundtracks for major companies, such as the BBC, ITV and Sky. Student satisfaction with the course is consistently high, and the teamwork and technical skills developed throughout the course will be helpful for any future career.

What will I study?

As a Music Tech student you’ll cover many aspects of the recording and sound industry, learning classic and modern sound recording techniques, recording your own songs and sounds, and improving your listening skills. You’ll record musicians, bands and soloists, and develop your own skills as an engineer.

What’s next?

Students studying Music Technology have progressed onto university study at institutions around the country, including the prestigious SAE in London, Liverpool and Glasgow.

Our music technologists have gone on to work in prestigious companies such as EA Games, Rough Trade, The Globe Theatre and Beggar’s Banquet Records. Former students have also found success in bands and as solo artists with several gaining millions of streams on Spotify.
