In 2019, Europa Nostra continued to act as a relay between civil society and EU institutions, raising-awareness on the value of cultural heritage for Europe and actively contributing to the EU policy debate and policy-making process.
En 2019, Europa Nostra a continué d’agir en tant que relais entre la société civile et les institutions européennes, valorisant la valeur du patrimoine culturel pour l’Europe et contribuant activement au débat et au processus d’élaboration des politiques de l’UE.
In October, we released the Paris Manifesto: “Let us relaunch the European project through culture and cultural heritage!”, with the endorsement of hundreds of key heritage stakeholders who attended the European Policy Debate (photo 1 and 2) during the European Cultural Heritage Summit that took place on 27-30 October in Paris.
En octobre, nous avons publié le Manifeste de Paris : “Relançons le projet européen par la culture et le patrimoine culturel”, avec le soutien de centaines d’acteurs clés dans le domaine du patrimoine qui ont participé au colloque (photo 1 et 2) organisé lors des Assises européennes du patrimoine culturel de Paris (27-30 octobre).
Another important advocacy tool was Europa Nostra’s Statement on the future of EU-funded heritage research, published in May. The Statement outlines Europa Nostra’s position, priorities and expectations on EU-funded research related to cultural heritage in the context of the future EU Programme for Research and Innovation ‘Horizon Europe’ 2021-2027 (photo 3, VERONA project, 2019 Award winner in Research). Europa Nostra also continued advocating at the highest level of EU policy-making for a stronger recognition of cultural heritage as a positive catalyst for Europe. 12 | Annual Report | 2019 | Rapport annuel
La déclaration d’Europa Nostra sur l’avenir de la recherche liée au patrimoine financé par l’UE, publiée en mai, a également constitué un outil de sensibilisation important. Ce communiqué expose la position, les priorités et les attentes d’Europa Nostra à ce sujet dans le cadre du futur programme de recherche et d’innovation de l’UE “Horizon Europe” 2021-2027 (photo 3). Europa Nostra a également continué à plaider pour une plus grande reconnaissance du patrimoine culturel en tant que catalyseur positif pour l’Europe.
