HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE ď ľ

Delphi is located in central Greece. Since the 8th century AD, when the cult of Apollo prevailed, Delphi's sanctuary gained a particularly important role in the ancient Greek world.

PLACES OF INTEREST ď ľ

One of the most important monuments of Delphi is the Temple of Apollo, which was centrally located in the city. In the temple were the ceremonies related to worship, the most important of which was the process of divination. People went to the oracle of Delphi and Pythia and told them oracles. The temple before taking its present from the ruins we see today was destroyed twice (in 548 BC by fire and rebuilt around 510 BC by a large Athenian family of Alcmaeonides and by the earthquake of 373 BC). where it was rebuilt in 330 BC by the architects Spintharos the Corinthian, the Xenodorus and the Agathon).
