Location Pella is a part of “Macedonia” but administratively belongs in the Region of Central Macedonia. Pella borders with FYROM in the north and with Imathia prefecture in the south. The capital of Pella is the town of “Edessa” .
Geographical Features The mountains that surround Pella are five: “Mount Vora”, “Mount Vermion”, “Mount Paiko”, “Mount Jenna” and “Mount Pinovo” The main plain of the prefecture is plain of Pozar in the north. It is named after the ancient city of Pella, the capital of ancient Macedonia, the birthplace of Alexander the Great.
