Letter from the Editor “The spring, summer, is quite a hectic time for people in their lives, but then it comes to autumn, and to winter, and you can’t but help think back to the year that was, and then hopefully looking forward to the year that is approaching.” Enya Isn’t that so true? Slow down and enjoy each moment. This issue is one of my favorites to date. I was blessed to work with tons of fabulous party planners. Their love for their work shines through. I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I do! Alessandro’s Olympic Games by: World Wide Party by Elena Galli

his summer is all about Olympic games! Alessandro, the birthday boy, is all about sports and games so the Olympics was the perfect party theme for him. This party was in Dubai. We had a great outdoor space to organize games and set the atmosphere. I prepared the dessert table with mini-Nutella jars with customized labels, medal cookies, chiacchere, an Italian pastry, mini donuts in the 5 Olympic colors, and mini cannoli. It was all delicious! The most fun part of the party were the games: we divided the kids in color groups. (black, red, blue, yellow and green) There was an obstacle run, a basketball challenge, a ball toss game, and finally, swimming in the pool. Everybody won, of course, and kids had a blast! As favors, we gave away golden medal cookies. Mermaid Party by: 4 Kids Cakes

hen you first think of a Mermaid themed party, a certain cartoon classic comes to mind. While some elements from that movie are fun to include, we wanted to stay away from a cartoon feel, and have it be more of a big girl party. The birthday girl, (my daughter) insisted she and her friends be able to go swimming in a Mermaid Grotto. Tell All Signs Came to the rescue, and made a sign for us. Oriental Trading had the perfect blow up pool toys and shell whistles to add to the fun. A great new vendor I found, Carla’s Garden & Décor made the wood crates for the pool area to hold towels & toys. For the girls swimming attire, the choice was easy. If you’re looking for top quality & gorgeous bathing suits – you have to check out Rad Swim. The girls loved their summer line. They even had the cutest wraps for them that coordinated with their suits. I also wanted to find a way for those girls to still feel like mermaids out of the water too. That’s where some amazing vendors came in. The tshirts & leggings from ShopLunamar.com were spot on, and a total hit. Scarlet Harlow created the most gorgeous mermaid crowns for the girls too. Her work is stunning. Seriously. I could just scroll through her Instagram page for hours. We added a chunky bracelet by Viv and Olive, and a charm bracelet by Charm It to complete their look. The first reaction when the girls saw themselves were squeals of joy. They had fun with the Mouse Ears & Ariel Bow too, loving that they could change up their looks. The dessert table was anchored on either side by large crates made to look like treasure chests topped with loot. From the jewelery, & crowns, to shell soaps & messages in a bottle from Kate Aspen – they had lots of choices. Simple white gumballs filled tubes from Hoopla Events as the Pearls in the treasure. Now in this birthday girls treasure, her favorite thing in the entire world is cotton candy – and Fluffpop’s gourmet flavors did not disappoint. The custom Mermaid Tail Piñata by Lisa Frank Parties was the perfect anchor for display. Gummy Shells, Jelly Bellys, & “sea grass” Licorice from Oh Nuts! Were a hit & the colors were perfection.

The gummy shells are good. If you like gummy candy, you’ve got to try them. For the main dessert table, Lilly Paul Designs created the backdrop. I wanted to hint at water and the tall sea grass, and as always – she created exactly what was in my head. For the cake, the birthday girl wanted a cotton candy flavored ice cream cake (I wasn’t kidding when I said it was her favorite). So that’s what she got. It had a water color butter cream finish, with a chocolate shell on top. Party On Designs printables were the perfect food cards placed in the Kate Aspen shell place holders. Roni’s caramel apples are even more gorgeous in person, and yummy too. Whether it was tying the treats to the colors or shells & theme of the party – each vendor hit it out of the park. Sweet Treats by M made the most adorable sugar cookies. I think the seahorse was my favorite. The place settings were fun to put together. I started with wood veneer chargers I found at Michaels, and then I weathered them. Using a gray milk paint from Michaels paint isle, I watered it down a bunch, and wiped it on with a rag. That’s it. I now had weathered beach wood chargers. Add to those Create Ur Plate’s glass dessert plates and clings designed by Party On Designs, and they all tied together. Candy wands pulled in a fun element to each place. Drinking jars from Kate Aspen in the same aqua color with lids were accented with straws from Hoopla Events finished off the setting. I have to say we’ve done all sizes of parties, and this one is a favorite, with the small number of guests, there was less stress. And don’t tell me you wouldn’t want to have a moment to try on one of those crowns too?! I did!

Jett’s Cake Smash by: Green JAM Mama

imultaneously the SLOWEST and FASTEST year of my life after 3 years waiting for this miracle baby. Years of shots, surgeries and hell. Finally get to experience motherhood which is the greatest gift I’ve ever received. When Jett turned one we had to have an adorable cake smash photo session. I had recently gotten my first die cutting machine and heat press, and I wanted to make everything custom for my sweet boy. I spent hours cutting and assembling the adorable alligator banners and Jett’s romper and diaper cover. Jett’s nursery is decorated in similar blue and green alligators, so it seemed fitting to have his first birthday celebration match. My husband and I are so in love with our little miracle boy.

Coachella Birthday Party by: S is For Sweet Events

oachella (pronounced koe-CHEL-uh) is the name of a city as well as a valley in southern California. The Coachella Valley rests between Salton Sea and the San Bernardino Mountains in the Colorado Desert, and is home to the city of Coachella as well as other cities and towns, including several resort towns, the most famous of which is Palm Springs. The valley is increasingly famous for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. My daughter was born in sunny California 11 years ago and was transplanted to the South at 1 month old but still somehow embraces the free spirit Cali vibe. Sheâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s my flower girl...and loves music. A Coachella themed birthday with a few friends was perfect! The decor was simple but yet detailed. We made the cake ourselves and added flower petals. Coachella reminds me of the Have a Coke and a Smile commercial so we had to incorporate the new Share a Coke bottles. Seating was kept fun and casual by using a ton of pillows and a low table. The kids made their own party foods which consisted of baking cupcakes and making coke floats. My daughter is a craft-a-holic so she showed friends how to make hobo t-shirt bags..crazy socks and bohemian bracelets...All fitting for the free spirit theme. Every guest took home homemade craft and boho necklaces. Labor Day Celebration by Sparkling Sweets Botique

abor Day is always bittersweet for me. I love the changing of the seasons and the return of schedules, but I long for warm summer nights spent with my family. This year, I wanted to host a fun last hoorah for our family and friends. I also love my Americana decor, and I found a great deal on all the red, white, and blue rosettes and candies after the 4th of July. I love clearance shopping. I am a sweets artist by trade, so I made all of the sweet treats. A drizzled cake was the centerpiece of our celebration. I also made delicious cake pops, berry cones, loaded cherry bombs, and a lot more! My dessert tables are never lacking. First Day of P re School by Soiree by Ria

brand new back pack, new pencils and markers. We knew this day was coming, we never expected it would be this soon. Alice’s first day of preschool! “I’m ready to go Mommy! I want to go learn!” Our hearts just melted knowing she was on her way to becoming a big kid. While Alice was away at school for the day, I put together a little celebration for her and her friends. Striped dinner plates, Summer Bow dessert plates & napkins, and wooden utensils in bright fun colors. Polka dot cups and school themed décor to celebrate her big milestone. We used alphabet blocks to create the illusion of a giant cake and hosted a fun little activity with shapes. Not only did Alice have a blast at school, she was so surprised to come home to her very own Soirée! Football Party

hen I think of Fall, I always think of cozy, warm blankets and football. My husband and sons love watching sports, but football, especially college football is one of their favorites. Every year for the first game of the SEC season, my boys ask me to host a party. Usually the party is just for our family, but they love it. I pulled out one of my new favorite backdrops and my Cricut machine to make the vintage style stadium scoreboard. The table was draped in a deep red table cloth. On one side of the table, I had a basket full of cozy blankets, and a well loved football. On the opposite side of the table, I used a two tiered serving tray and added Coca Colas to the top tray, and Ball Canning Jars with wings and fries in the bottom tray. In the middle of the table, I added a couple of galvanized buckets. One held corn chips and salsa, the other was a cooler for water bottles. Finally, I made a football shaped cake. (Because a party without cake is just a meeting…Julia Child) To make the cake, I cut a 1” slice of cake out of the middle of two 9” round cakes. When I put the cake back together, I had a football shape. Then, I frosted it with chocolate buttercream. Finally, I added green buttercream grass all around the football cake on the plate. Vintage Baby Shower by: Carmen Navarro Designs

ood, galvanized metal, burlap, hand painted alphabet blocks, handcrafted pennant banners, and teddy bears were some of the amazing details from the Rustic vintage inspired shower for mama to be Ashley. Mom wanted a beautiful shower to celebrate their last child. So that is exactly what we did. I went to work right away and contacted my vendor friends to help me pull this look to together an awesome baby boy vintage shower. Carmen Navarro Designs, the creative mind behind the entire look of the shower. Styling every last detail to make it perfect, carefully pulling all the décor details together. Handcrafted pennants banners that matched the denim blue color scheme were hung above each guest table. Vintage books, silver chargers, mason jars with a paper straw, hand painted baby blocks & toys, blue washed painted mason jars with babies breath flanked each tablescape. The dessert table featured an over the top design with so many fun accents. From a diaper cake, wood blocks, suitcases, knitted blankets, textured pillows, books, marquee lights, lanterns, galvanized tubs, crates, and a blue truck. Gorgeous floral flanked each side of the table giving it some much needed balanced. & of course how can we forget those awesome teddy bears throughout the shower. Rickety Swank provided the beautiful Thomasville vintage buffet, which we used as the dessert station. They also provided the rustic ladders with planks for the backdrop of the dessert table. Irene’s Dessert Table created such an amazing cake with details that were too cute to eat. An intricate handmade fondant teddy bear flanked on the top of the cake along with some handcrafted edible baby blocks. Now I have seen many cake pops in my line of work, these pops have to be some of the cutest one I have in encountered. The little brown and blue teddies were such an amazing detail.

Cookies by Kerri created the royal icing cookies, they were insanely intricate. Teddy bears, rattles, onesies, and baby carriages matched perfectly to all the details of the shower. That washed denim look was amazing. Tre Fiori Studio styled mason jars filled with babies breath for each guest tablescape. Along with the 2 gorgeous floral pieces that flanked the dessert table, these were definitely showstoppers within themselves. Leah Rae Photography captured the essence of this shower perfectly! Words from the mom to be “My experience was very special, I felt like the decor and ambiance was breath taking, it made me feel so joyful. My guests were having such a wonderful time, they could not stop talking about how beautiful the decor was and how gorgeous everything looked! The cake was delicious and beautiful! The floral was gorgeous, every detail was perfect! My favorite detail was my dessert table! It was out of this world! It was exactly what I was visioning! The Original Lumberjack by: Printable Parties To Go

he Beaver is thought to be the Original Lumberjack. They use powerful front teeth to cut trees that they use for building and for food. I set out to design a printable party set to acknowledge the Beaver as a Lumberjack. I found a charming Beaver designed by Clipartland and coordinated the design into a printable party set using the Lumberjack print design from the Little Liama Shoppe. I asked a local cookie artist, Sister Teresa’s Custom Cut Cookies, to bake and design cookies to match the printable party set. The cookies and printable party set came together perfectly. I captured the details by photographing this styled printable party set and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Falling for Fall by: Sparkling Sweets Boutique When Jessica reached out to see if I would be able to shoot a fall themed dessert table for Everyday Party Magazine, I didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t hesitate. Jessica created the most adorable printable banner and party circles for me to use. (They will be available on EverydayPartyMag.com in early September) I made a delicious cake, pumpkin truffles, caramel apples, mini pecan pies, and chocolate lollipop leaves. I chose a simple white table cloth against a gorgeous double door backdrop. Instead of using serving plates or chargers, I used wood discs and a stunning dark colored glass cake stand. Rustic Romance Wedding by: Dreamin In Details

love this Rustic Romance Wedding for Genelle and Nick. I have been a wedding planner for many years, and I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t think I will ever tire of the rustic wedding trend. The wedding was held at the gorgeous Pratt Place Inn and Barn, and the location was perfect for our bride and groom. From the arch over the couple during their vows to the twinkle lights in the barn at the reception. My team left no detail unattended. I love adding DIY elements to each of my weddings, and this was no exception. Wine barrels were the perfect table top for the guest book. Hand lettered chalk boards were found throughout the wedding venue. Gorgeous white mini pumpkins were the perfect centerpiece vase fillers, and larger pumpkins with rhinestones were stunning! American Girl Doll Party by: Two Penn Studio

s Anna Claire’s 8th birthday approached, it was apparent to me that her party would have to be an American Girl Doll themed party. Anna Claire loves her doll so much, and will spend hours playing with her. I reached out to my good friend and partner for help with the printables and some of amazing sweets, and I got to work on the rest of the party. The invitation encouraged the guests to bring their own American Girl Dolls. Once the girls and their dolls arrived at the party, they were treated to “tea” and sweets. Each guest and their doll had a place at the table. The dolls had mini cupcakes and cocoa just like the girls. Each place setting had custom vinyl on their cocoa mugs and glasses to match the American Girl style. Beautiful flowers were used as the table centerpiece. The head of table was placed in front of our fire place, so the mantel was an ideal focal point. Red and pink rosettes, a custom framed print, and Heidi Swapp marquee lights, and small bouquets were perfect on the crisp white mantel. The sweets table was amazing! The backdrop was striped with Anna Claire’s name written in American Girl style. The table was covered in the most delicious treats. They were every bit as delicious as they were gorgeous. Apothecary jars were filled with candied popcorn and placed on each side of the cake. Cupcakes with party rounds, custom royal iced cookies, and candy dipped marshmallows were the stars of the table. Tiny ice cream cupcakes, florals, and AG candy dishes rounded out the dessert table. The girls (and their dolls) had a wonderful time!

Halloween Wreath DIY by Mothership Scrapbook Gal by Rina Gonzales Craft Supplies: Grapevine wreath Black cardstock Twine (approx. 25-30 inches) Sequins Halloween Foam Shapes Ribbon (1 small roll, approx. 3 yards) Cricut Die Cutting Machine + Cuttin’ Up Font Hole Punch Hot Glue Gun & hot glue sticks Tacky Glue Crystal Katana tool Step 1: DESIGN: HALLOWEEN FOAM SHAPES First you need to decide where all of your foam shapes will be placed, be sure to have a plan before you start hot gluing your foam shapes onto the wreath. When you add your foam shapes using hot glue, remember to remove the wax backing from the foam shapes so that it will adhere to the wreath. Step 2: ADD: BOO MINI BANNER One you die cut your “BOO” letters, you them hole punch the letters and then thread twine through the letters to create a mini banner for your wreath. You can then use the excess twine to wrap around the wreath and it will give your wreath more texture too! I used hot glue to adhere the twine to the wreath. My BOO letters were cut with my Cricut Expression 2 die cutting machine using the Cuttin’ Up Font cartridge. Step 3: ADD: RIBBON You can now add your ribbon bows to the wreath with hot glue and also wrap the ribbon around the entire wreath.

Step 4: FINAL TOUCH: SEQUINS Take your tacky glue to make glue dots on your grapevines, you only need to put a small dab of glue and it will dry clear. I used a small tool, the Crystal Katana, to help me grab the sequins to put them in place. Step 5: You are done, now hang your wreath and have a Happy Halloween! Once Upon a Midnight Dreary... by: Fawn Handcrafted Celebrations

nce upon a midnight dreary… Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. I love every single thing about it from carving pumpkins, to dressing up in creepy costumes to telling spooky ghost stories. I’m also a huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe and when Halloween rolls around, we break out our book of Poe stories and poems and recite the dark and creepy tales. Our hauntingly fun Halloween party inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, celebrates the macabre mastermind himself, Mr. Poe. PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for: Oreo dipped cookies adorned with Mr Poe’s face and vintage typewriters. Mini popcorn boxes topped with Poe and raven cupcake toppers. Handmade cupcake stands with paper bows attached. Favor bags displaying part of The Raven poem on it. A vintage typewriter as the centerpiece. Black and white sugar cookies inspired by The Raven tale. Raven wearing a party hat. We summoned guests to our party by sending out fun “Quoth the Raven” invites. This “neverflitting” raven was ready to party! The party guests dined on spooky treats from the dessert table like creepy graveyard scene sugar cookies, popcorn with Mr. Poe’s face peeking out and chocolate covered oreos adorned with the grim author’s face. One of my favorite elements to the party was the vintage typewriter used as the centerpiece. The typewriter is still in working condition and some of the guests typed out their own creepy poems (which were absolutely hilarious!). Black and white polka dot favor bags were handed out at the end of the evening, filled with Halloween goodies and a copy of The Raven. This was definitely one frighteningly fun party with some amazingly fun Poe fans!

Kids Halloween Celebration by Creativities Galore

hosts, witches, and spiders might sound scary to some people, but I am here to show you a non-scary and kid friendly way to incorporate them into your next Halloween party. For my tables I used a black tablecloth so that I could add pops of purple, green, and orange. My tablescape had some fun green spider and web felt placemats and on top of them I put our little guests lunch boxes. Next to the lunch boxes I placed the some wooden utensils and a striped paper straw. I also placed a black and white stripped cup at each setting; I think they added a whimsical touch. The snack table was very easy and fun to put together. For the banner I used some embossed card stock that I found at my local craft store and created the witch and spider with my Sizzix dies. I used a chalkboard tombstone and wrote the quote “Come little children I’ll take thee away” then I simply leaned it against the wall. Next I added the monster munchies; gummy worms in some tubes, grapes (or spider eggs as we called them throughout the party), Rice Krispie Treats wrapped in some polka dot bags then tied off with twine, and some delicious mini red velvet cupcakes. The mini cupcakes fit perfectly in the mini cauldrons and looked so cool. This party can be very easy to re-create and make sure to add a costume contest to encourage your guest to go all out with their costumes. Happy Haunting! Teal Pumpkin P roject by: Everyday Party Magazine Have you heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project? I love the idea and when I was contacted recently about sharing a simple DIY and some info about the cause, it was a “no brainer” for me to say yes! Nearly one in every thirteen chldren has a severe food allergy. With those numbers, one or two of your child’s classmates has a food allergy. And not just a mild food allergy, a servere, life threatening allergy. Launched as a national campaign by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in 2014, the Teal Pumpkin Project™ raises awareness of food allergies and promotes inclusion of all trick-or-treaters throughout the Halloween season. This nationwide movement offers an alternative for kids with food allergies, as well as other children for whom candy is not an option, and keeps Halloween a fun, positive experience for all! Supplies: Inexpensive Pumpkin Teal Duck Tape Brand Duct Tape Allergy safe treats (Cow Tales Candy and Jelly Belly Candies are peanut safe) Optional Decorative Vinyl I did this project in just a few minutes, because I truly didn’t care if the tape was wrinkled for this. I liked the look of it better with wrinkles on this pumpkin. Cover the pumpkin with teal tape, add some decorative vinyl if you want, and put it on your front porch! Murder Mystery Dinner Party by: A Lovely Design

y oldest daughter Mia was turning 14! I still can't believe it. Fourteen...where does the time go? As usual, I'm always trying to come up with a theme that is both unique and that they will love. And being that she was turning fourteen, I knew that the party needed to have a level of maturity to it but still be loads of fun! We came up with the idea for the party while playing one of her favorite games one evening. The six iconic characters of the classic board game "CLUE" served as the perfect inspiration for this glamorous Murder Mystery Dinner Party! I wanted the color palette to be very rich and glamorous so I ultimately decided on jewel tones mixed with hints of gold and white and of course elements of Mia's chosen character... Miss Peacock. The invitation and printables were so much fun to design. I love how they turned out! I created a tri-fold design and inside the invitation, each girl would discover which character they would portray at the party! Along with the invitation, I also created custom "Clue" game cards and room signs so that the girls could actually play the game live throughout the different rooms in the house! What girl doesn't like the opportunity to dress to the nine? They had so much fun wearing their fancy dresses and role playing as their chosen character during dinner and throughout the evening. I kept the decor simple yet classy. I didn't want it to feel too over the top as I wanted them to feel like they were just at a fancy dinner party! For the centerpiece, I clustered a grouping of jewel colored glass vases of different shaped and sizes and filled them with gorgeous flowers and added a cluster of jewel toned tissue poms above the table. We served the girls a lovely 5 course dinner to give them plenty of time to role play and have fun becoming their characters. After the game was played BUT before the mystery was solved, the girls sat in the "parlor" trying to solve it while enjoying the delicious desserts

of mini cupcakes, yummy sugar cookies, delectable brownies and a cake from Frosted that was "to die for!" The girls spent the rest of the evening grabbing props and striking poses in the ever so popular photo booth I created! It just goes to show that inspiration for your next party can come from anywhere. Who knew that a family game of "Clue" would have inspired such a delightfully fun birthday party idea! icked is the greatest story about friendship and love and adventure and WITCHES! It is the perfect way to celebrate the fall season with Halloween costumes and decor out there on the market. Glinda the Good Witch is easy to create magic with. Whether a star wand candle or decor filled with iridescent glitter, you can turn a regular thing into a Glindafied masterpiece. Elpheba is the Wicked Witch (of the West) and because she is GREEN, green is the color to go with. Greenify everything from frosting to garlands to goody bags. I saw this on Broadway the season it debuted. I have seen is nine times since and can belt out all of the lyrics. If you donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t know it, go see it! Dia de los Muertos Mitzvah by: Flair Event Design

hat happens when your Bar Mitzvah falls on Halloween? A Dia de los Muertos themed Bar Mitzvah party of course!

Flair Event Design had “mucho” fun designing and planning this Fiesta! While Mom wanted the theme to focus on “Dia de los Muertos” the Bar Mitzvah boy wanted to make sure it was just creepy enough and oh yeah, he wanted a carnival as well. The gals at Flair Event Design, ever up for a challenge made it happen for this super fun family. As guests entered, they were greeted by a spooky gatekeeper and then made their way through a haunted graveyard. Next stop, they met a ghoulish witch with a smoking cauldron where they were handed a key. The winning key would open a coffin inside revealing “spooktacular” prizes. To tie in the Day of The Dead theme, we decked out the venue with lots of colors, stringing papel picado flags and bright paper lanterns throughout. Adult tables were dressed with serape runners, adorned with vibrant marigold centerpieces and sugar skulls. Kids tables featured “diy” paper flowers held by tomato cans and accented with more sugar skulls. During cocktail hour a Mariachi band entertained guests. As guests entered the main room the first stop was to leave a message for the Bar Mitzvah boy by signing in at the life-sized papeir Mache skeleton, made by famed Mexican artist Augustine Galicia renowned for his Day of the Dead art. From there they could choose their fun. Where to go first? Have some fun at the Dia de los Muertos themed carnival and play a game of tombstone tipping? Visit with the face painter and be painted Dia de Los Muertos style? Hit the dance floor or strike a pose in the photo booth? Thirsty from all the partying? Grab yourself a smoking “volcano” drink! A custom decorated birthday cake capped off the evening for the guest of honor. As a parting gift, each guest received a sugar skull pop and customs designed mugs, with filled colorful M&M’s.
