Letter from the Editor I recently attended my third SNAPConf in Salt Lake City, Utah...I left feeling inspired, and ready to conquor the blogging world! And, after some reflection, I feel like the path I am taking is leading me to where I need to be. I love producing EPM. It is truly a labor of love, and I enjoy each issue. I tend to say this with each issue, but I feel as though this is one of my very favorite issues and it has got to be better than the last! I hope that it brings you as much inspriation and enjoyment as it brings me! Thank you all so much for your constant support! Pineapple Orange Frozen Margarita by Pineapple Paper Co.

hether you celebrate Cinco de Mayo or not, this refreshing frozen pineapple orange margarita is sure to be a hit at all of your gatherings this summer!

4 cups frozen pineapple Juice from 4 small oranges (like Cara Cara oranges) 2 cups Jose Cuervo Golden Margarita (already contains alcohol) 1 cup ice cubes Place all ingredients into a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Off to the Races Derby Party by Pineapple Paper Co.

or the last several years, we have hosted an annual Derby Party. Attending the Kentucky Derby is a bucket list item for me, so until then, I will continue to host Derby parties with Southern inspired foods, drinks, and decor. This year, I am using beautiful bright flowers and bold stripes for the decor. Enormous red roses from The Bloomery sat center stage on the dessert table, a small party circle was tucked inside the bouquet on a floral pick. A gorgeous silver serving platter is the perfect place for pre-made Mint Juleps, a Derby party must have. In addition to Sweet Tea Mint Juleps, I am making delicious Mint Julep Jello Shots, but they will be served in a stylish drinking glass. Single serve berry shortcakes are a light, but filling treat throughout the party. I will pre-make these as well in individual parfait glasses with homemade mini biscuits, fresh berries, and whipped cream. This year, the main dish will be mini slider sandwiches, they are perfect for entertaining! Finally, my homemade cupcakes will be topped with party circles and placed on a tray for our guests to enjoy! Our Derby parties wouldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t be complete without a hat and bow tie contest! Each year our guests get a little more creative with their attire in an attempt to win the coveted rose horseshoe! Look for the recipes on the blog this week. Terrarium DIY by Cucpcake Wishes and Birthday Dreams

errariums are so trendy right now, but sometimes they can be a bit pricey. I found a super easy DIY way to get the look for less. Inexpensive frames from the dollar store, a bit of strong bond glue, foam board, spray paint and a few plants will give you a high-end style terrarium for less than $10. I purchased most of the items from the dollar store. I found it’s best to use the frames with the metal tabs that hold the glass in place as the tabs are helpful in keeping the top of the terrarium stable. This project takes around 3-4 hours to complete, with most of the time contributed to allowing time for the frames to dry. Here are a list of items you will need to have on hand: Six (6) - 8x10 frames Painter’s Tape Duct Tape Strong-bond Adhesive Gold Spray Paint Foam Board Sharp Utility Knife Stone filler and/or moss Flowering plants Clay Pots * To start, remove any packaging from your frames, along with the glass, matting or cardboard backing; set aside. * Assemble four (4) of the frames in such a way that two are standing on their sides lengthwise and the other two are standing on their sides width-wise. Line up each frame flush, edge to edge. Temporarily hold the frames in place with painter’s tape. Gently, lift small metal tabs back, flush against each frame.

* Once you have your base frames set up, remove a piece of tape from one side and run a bead of adhesive along the shortest sides of the frame, allowing the adhesive to setup and dry for each side. Repeat these steps for all the remaining sides. (Drying time depends on the type of adhesive used). * For the two (2) remaining frames, line up both frames next to each other lengthwise and tape together with Duct Tape. his will be your top. The frames should open and close, the duct tape acts as a hinge. Just as you did with the other frames, gently fold back each tab, except the one(s) on the long side of each frame. These tab should be folded slightly forward. These will keep the top from sliding off the short sides of the frame. * After glue has dried, you can coat your base and top with spray paint. Start with a light coat first, followed by an additional coat. Be sure to allow frame to dry completely between coats. * Once the base frame is dry, add a bead of adhesive along the grooves in the frame where the glass is placed and then add the glass to each side making sure it’s secured in place. Do the same for the top frames. Set aside to dry. * After the frames have had time to dry, place the frame base on top of your foam board and trace along the outside of the frame with a pencil. Cut the shape out with a sharp utility knife. Using adhesive, glue the board to the bottom of the base an set aside to dry. * Add small river rocks, pebbles or moss to the inside bottom of the frame and arrange florals in clay pots to your liking. * Add the top to your base and enjoy your terrarium! This terrarium is such an easy and stylish project to make. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it also makes a great gift. It can also be used year round for other occasions and seasons. MaxKenzie-Childs Tea Party by Happy Family Blog

o say I am in love with this MacKenzie-Childs Birthday Tea Party with Flamingos would be an understatement. My best friend Morgan is obsessed with MacKenzie-Childs so it was no surprise that her daughter asked for a Black and White Tea Party with black and white cookies and pink and white flowers. Since Morgan’s house is filled with all things MacKenzie-Childs it was an easy party to plan and execute. Which was ideal since she just had a baby three weeks before the party. Less than a week before her party the birthday girl asked to add Flamingos inspired by Bailey’s Flamingo Party. My favorite Details from our MacKenzie-Childs Tea Party • MacKenzie-Childs Tea Set and Pixie Party Supplies • Black and White Printables with the Flamingos • Black and White Cookies The Centerpieces The birthday girl wanted pink and white flowers so that is exactly what she got. We included flamingos in the centerpieces for the gift and favor table with a black and white ribbon to try in our theme. Basketball Senior Night by 4 Kids Cakes

n our community, Senior Night is a big deal. It’s a culmination of all your hard work, coming to an end. The last time you’ll lace up those court shoes & wear your number for your school. It most likely started with pee-wee basketball when the whole team chased the ball like a swarm of bees. To finally getting to high school, where you pray you don’t get cut, and work your behind off to move up and eventually earn your spot on the Varsity team. I’m sure each child, in any sport, has a similar story as to how they got to this point.

Our oldest is a senior, and if anyone tells you it’s an easy year as the parents — they’re lying. It is super emotional; your child is always stressed, and they feel a lot of pressure to make the right decisions about life for their next few years. We have reflected a lot. To say we are proud of our son is an understatement. Growing up, he wasn’t the toughest, or biggest kid on the team. He could play basketball, but wasn’t a starter. As a freshman, he was 5’8” on the C-team and didn’t play much. What set him apart from other players was that he was always asking what he needed to do to improve. He got in the weight room. By sophomore year, he was 6’2”, on JV, & his coach encouraged him to play tennis & run track to increase his footwork & speed. So he did both. He made Varsity as a Junior & Senior, and is now 6’6”. He will graduate lettering in 3 sports, with a 3.8GPA (with AP classes), on ASB, Honor Society, and works part time at Taco Time. Not many kids can say that...especially after having to re-learn how to run with growing at such a rapid rate. (Note to past self: I should have invested in Advil, ice packs, & heating pads. *Maybe I still should — we have 3 more kids.) For Senior Night, it’s tradition for the underclassmen moms to put on the senior night. I may have helped a little bit this year....in huge part to Shindigz. It’s an online one-stop-shop for all things senior-night or party related. From personalized signs for the Senior’s parking spots, to team signs lining the entrance, Shindigz had us covered. Lifesize Standee’s flanked both sides of the table. On the table, Custom

Cookie tins filled with Mamma Frame’s chocolate chip cookies. They were a favorite of the players, so when I asked if she’d be willing to bake a few more — she didn’t even hesitate to say yes! And what are cookies without something to drink? So, we made custom travel mugs for the Seniors. We had a photo booth set up for families to take advantage of. I should have realized I needed to have stock in a tissue company, and Advil, and Ice and Heating Pad brands. They should market tissues to parents entering their kids’ senior year, or sell it in the concession stands. Seriously, they would make a killing. The school kicked off the night with senior presentations. Each senior was previously interviewed and their answers of favorite memories, words of advice, and goals they have for next year were shared. They were able to invite who they wanted to escort them when they were announced. There was not a dry eye in the gym! Now for the best part — the game! We had some fun things from Shindigz to make the gym environment even better. Giant SENIORS letters on the wall, they are in all of the game pictures too! The Big Head’s are so huge, they photograph well from high up in the stands too! The student section loved using the Big Head Cardboard Cutouts! Friends and family loved waving their favorite players faces in the stands. The Big Heads were awesome on so many levels. I absolutely love Jakes, and all his hair! Introducing the starters was even cooler when the JV & C-team utilized a second set of Big Head’s! We have the best fans. There are a few fans that you can always count on — even at the away games. We loved the Class of ‘17 Temporary Tattoo’s from Shindigz as well! Our Mascot Thor, the Panther & our Cheerleaders brought in tons of school spirit.

It was a fun, awesome, emotional, and even a little sad night. But it was so special. To date, it was the best we’ve ever had at our school, or the best one a relative has ever seen. So glad I was able to help make it awesome. Patriotic Popcorn

emorial Day is such a special time! First and foremost, it’s a time to remember those that gave their lives for America’s freedom. But, it’s also the unofficial start of the summer season. Everyone relaxes a little more. The grilling season is upon us, and warm summer nights call for movies outside! My family LOVES popcorn, and they are forever mixing snacks into their popcorn, or grabbing my chocolate candy melts and making their own chocolate covered popcorn. Our goal this summer is to make 12 different popcorn varieties! I started the boys quest with Patriotic Popcorn! I used red and white Wilton Candy Melts, and pre-popped popcorn. I also mixed in blue rock candy pieces and red hots while the chocolate was still cooling. Once it was all mixed, I spread the popcorn out onto a baking sheet to cool completely. Once the popcorn cooled completely, I broke of pieces of it and put it in cute little burlap popcorn boxes with rosette embellishments from Little Birdie. Patriotic Soccer Party by 4 Kids Cakes

hen you’re planning a party for 12 year olds, keeping their attention is key. Our birthday boy & his friends are very active and loves to be outside, so playing soccer was the perfect fit! We found amazingly fun socks over at Neon Eaters and the team names grew their inspiration from there. Chicken Nuggets vs. Paper Cranes. Silly? Yes. Goofy? Absolutely! That’s what makes it fun! Sports Connection made the teams’ shirts. Weeks before the party, the kids talked about who would be on what team, and decided it would be girls vs boys. Oriental Trading provided the water bottles & sunglasses that completed their looks. I love how I can give Tell All Signs an image, and bam-she recreates it in vinyl…..totally replicating the shield from the invites. For the party location, we held it at our local high school’s ball field. Anders Ruff created the perfect set of printables that tied everything together. I adore the invite that looks like a ticket to an actual game. For the dessert table, I started with the back drop. I utilized a light weight artificial turf from our local home improvement store. Fans from Oriental Trading arched around the shield from AndersRuff completed it. The cake was the centerpiece. When I designed this cake, I went with a clean & simple look. We had so many other options on the table, I didn’t want it to disappear into the background. Piggy Bank Parties made our stickers for the food trays the kids used to load up on all the goodies. The candy dish letters held Skittles candies. The soccer candybobs were one of the first items to disappear from the table. I used Sweets Indeed’s Candy Fetti to decorate the cake pops. We also had bags of the Candy Fetti on the table for kids to eat. Chocolate covered Oreo’s and candy coated popcorn were gobbled up during time outs. The kids had a blast. As our kids have gotten older, I’ve tried to give their birthdays a more relaxed party schedule. They really just want to have fun with their friends. Knowing this, we talked about what treats he liked, he chose the theme of soccer & what colors, and then I ran with it. They laughed, played hard, ate a ton of sugar, and went home happy. My job was done.

Heart Shaped Picnic by Five Whimsy Lane

y husband and I were about to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary and we had plans for a night on the town. I booked a sitter, bought a new dress and made dinner reservations. We hadn’t had a date night in months so we were both really excited. The morning of our anniversary we got a call from the sitter letting us know she was sick and couldn’t make it. Instead of being upset about it I suggested we pack a picnic and hit the beach. I told our girls I was still wearing my new dress so they could wear a pretty one as well. We all love to bake so we made a delicious lemon blueberry cake together for dessert. I made a simple pasta salad and put them in individual Mason jars for easy serving once we arrived. We cut up some watermelon wedges and threw some grapes in a bowl. On the way to the beach we stopped and picked up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and had a perfect picnic meal. I mentioned to my husband how I wish I had some flowers for the cake so he went and asked the neighbor if he could cut some from their garden. We found a perfect spot at the beach and set up our little picnic. We ate in the crisp, salty air and laughed at the birds flying overhead. When my husband and I were dating, he would find me a heart shaped rock every time we went to that beach so after dinner we all set out on a special rock hunt to find another one to add to my collection. It was such a quiet perfect night together and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Party Like a Narwhal! by Fawn Parties

narwhal is an elusive creature but I’m pretty sure it knows how to party. After all, it’s the unicorn of the sea and we all know unicorns know a good party when they see one! I’ve always wanted to throw a narwhal party and was so excited when I finally had the excuse to have one. I wanted to keep the party sweet and simple but I also wanted it to have a big impact with the little guests. I think it did just that! The adorable party narwhal cake topper was the inspiration for the party. The light blue and pink polka dots became the color palette so it was easy to find decor to match. Cake is a must for any party and I made a boxed cake using two round pans. I then rolled out marshmallow fondant to cover it. By mixing one piece of white fondant with a piece of pink fondant together, it came out as a beautiful swirled watercolor look that I loved. Of course the narwhal had to top the cake along with candies and “Party Like a Narwhal” cake topper. I kept the snacks simple and served narwhal nibbles (popcorn) and ocean water ( plain old water...but the kids thought it was so funny they were drinking water from the ocean!) The guests loved coloring pictures of their own little narwhal and loved adding stickers and sparkles to their pages. Each little guests received a narwhal headband, goodie bag filled with sweets and a mini narwhal plushie. We all had a blast and partied hard, just like a narwhal!

Pineapples on the Patio! By Lori Hanrehan of Giggle Home Furnishings

ummer means warm breezes, sunshine, lazy afternoons…and parties! Nothing is more enjoyable during the summer months than gatherings in the great outdoors, especially after spending so much of the winter season inside! So now it’s time to throw open the windows, fire up the grill, and call over some friends to celebrate the season in backyards and on patios! If you’re looking for some simple summer inspiration you need to look no further than the produce section…I’m talking about pineapples! The perfect fruit for summer entertaining! Not only is it deliciously sweet but it makes a wonderful decoration too! There are endless recipes using the mouthwatering treat so it can be so easy to incorporate it into a party! And the pineapple is the symbol for “welcome” so it stands to reason that it’s a popular theme for any gathering. If you’re thinking of hosting a casual party, you can often find inspiration in simple paper plates & napkins. They can be the starting point of your theme and make a perfectly acceptable and darling tabletop display! Another bonus, they’re disposable! These cheerful plates include touches of peach and blue to the sunny yellow. I find it nice to incorporate a blend of color, even if it’s minimal, to keep a party unique! You can spruce up plastic or wooden utensils by adding little details to match a theme with stickers from the craft store. This can be a really fun and economical way to make a disposable utensil look custom made! And remember that cupcake liners can be used for more than just cakes. Here they add extra color to each place setting holding some mini shortbread cookies and tiny honeycomb pineapples, which were actually embellishments that were removed from plastic straws! I believe that greenery is always welcome on a party table whether it’s in a bouquet or a potted plant. These small, artificial topiaries placed between each guest are a fun alternative to a traditional centerpiece… which also happens to be replaced with a sunny yellow pineapple! Two pompoms tied with a coordinating ribbon hang above the table…and there aren’t many items that make a party (big or small) more festive

than pompoms! The cute paper plates (which were the inspiration for this party) had more than just pineapples on them. How about this fun bike basket for holding a bucket full of sparkling waters…and it’s even still attached to the bicycle! This old, rusty, garden bike found a new purpose by helping to hold some of the summertime sips! Leaning near the patio buffet, it makes a really whimsical addition to the food and drink table! Some chilled white wine is transferred into the cute pineapple bottle which is another fun way to tie the beverages into the fruity theme! The upcycled buffet was created from a garage sale desk and a dresser mirror frame. Filling the empty frame with chalkboard and attaching it to the back of the desk creates a fun serving station for any celebration! You can get creative and write out a menu or a festive message to your guests! The yellow skirting on the front is actually that…a child’s hula skirt! Always take a quick spin around the party store… you never know what might work! Fresh pineapples perched up on white planters frame the simple food…and wrapping the grilled sandwiches in parchment and twine give it the feel of an actual picnic! Keeping the food light and fruity is all you need to tie it into this fun, summer theme! It’s time to don the flip flops…and celebrate summertime! Father’s Day Celebration by Everyday Party Magazine

his year Father’s Day is going to be a little different for our family. My dad has been gone for 5 years, but my father-in-law only recently passed away, so it is my husband’s first father’s day without a dad. It’s bittersweet, we know our dads aren’t hurting anymore, but we totally miss them. We will be taking the boys someplace fun for the weekend, to kind of escape and enjoy our time as a family. However, I want to celebrate my boys’ dad, my hubby, while we are gone. This table is perfect for an at home or an away from home celebration! I made a bunch of paper bow ties with my Cricut machine, and strung them on baker’s twine for the backdrop. I also made smaller bow ties for the cups, and donuts. I secured them to the cups and toothpicks with a little dab of hot glue. Donuts are a family favorite, so I grabbed a dozen from our favorite donut spot, and stacked them on a cake plate. An old wash bowl was perfect for ice and drinks. Our oldest loves iced coffee, so I made a gallon of it for him, and then I set up ingredients for DIY sodas for my hubby, the other boys, and myself. It’s a perfect and simple way to celebrate the Dad in your life!

Emoji Party by 4 Kids Cakes

hen your tween is turning Double Digits, they have all sorts of likes, dislikes, attitude, and opinions. Seriously, it is so fun! Throwing an Emoji party seemed like the perfect fit! We partnered up with some of our favorite vendors to create a fun day. Small Moments kicked everything off with fantastic printables. The birthday girl wore the cutest Emoji tutu from Atutudes. We paired it with shirts from MADgrrl, which all the guests received too. Viv and Olive created the most perfect necklace – a rainbow poop emoji necklace to be exact! We paired it with custom charm bracelets from Charm It! We pulled the rainbow into other parts of the party too. It’s so fun when one piece can foster so much inspiration! Charm-It put together the cutest charm bracelets for the girls, with both emoji & rainbow themed charms. LisaFrankParties rainbow poop piñata was a total hit, anchoring the favor table. Piggy Bank Parties emoji favor boxes held a sugar cookie & thank you card for each guest to take home. The craft station was set up for each girl to personalize a chalkboard easel from Target Dollar Spot. Michael’s dollar section had the cute little jars, paint & brushes, and packs of colored chalk that I divided up between the jars. No party is complete without a dessert table. The birthday girl’s favorite emoji is the heart eyes, so we had to incorporate that into the cake. Candyfetti on the bottom tier, completed the fun look. We used plain yellow lanterns from Oriental Trading & added some craft paper to make them into Emoji faces, hanging those around the background poster by Small Moments. The pendant banner by A Lacey Creation was too cute for words. It was my favorite part of the party. Now we just can’t wait for the movie to come out this summer!

Get “in” to Summer Celebrations by The “You In?” Plate

Vintage Canival Party by Mint Event Designs When my friend Lori called me to help her style a small dessert table for her daughter’s First Birthday, I got so excited! She told me it was going to be a small gathering but she still wanted something special. We both loved the idea of a Shabby Chic Carousel Party and decided to use mint, blush pink and gold as our color pallet. Tassels are one of my favorite party decor items and I knew who would have the best. Bri Custom made the adorable garlands for me and I loved how they completed the look of the table front! My friend wanted to serve several options for desserts; cake, cupcakes and donuts. I really wanted to use a carousel horse cake topper and I asked Painted Parade to make one for the cake. She was so happy to create it for me and now its available at her shop. The simple white cake sat on a gorgeous gold cake plate. An adorable gold ferris wheel tied into the theme perfectly, and held donut holes with a little “hello” flag. No matter how large or small your event is, I really suggest custom details that will set your party aside of others. We used ice cream cups to hold the cupcakes and added a cute wooden spoon to each one. The guests were so excited to see cupcakes! A striking, yet simple piece of satin fabric softened the backdrop, and was the perfect way to add the symbolic Big Top! Simple soda bottles wrapped in pink and gold ribbon held a straw around and a small ticket. They were perfect on the table, aren’t they too cute?! The goodie bags were made with fun glittered paper bags with a fun doily and a hand made paper rose.

Fourth of July Celebration by Fern and Maple Events

he 4th of July is always a busy time of year as we get ready for the festivities.

I was able to put together this fun preppy celebration was put together with items I picked up from local dollar bins and scrap stores, as well as craft items I had at home. I used a fun printable from Kim of Small Moments Design that incorporated a fun fashion element. She created signage that incorporated red white and blue outfits and gave a nautical feel. To compliment this I hung an American flag on the wall, and I used mini American flags at each setting. I started with a white table cover and a piece of red ribbon as the runner. It was nice and simple, but it really popped. I picked up star design paper buckets from the target dollar spot, turned them upside down and used them as platforms for cake stands topped with white donuts, yum! To make these even more “All-American” I added a faux red apple, mini flags, and flag themed sunglasses. My kids love it when I set the table. I like to include activities to keep them busy, these also double as favors. This year I used star candy dishes and added small puzzles & card games in clear bags. I found these at Daiso and they came with cute pom pom ties! I added a mini flag and placed them in the star shaped candy dishes. I layered the candy dishes on top of matching napkins and stacked plates on top of gold chargers. On the cutlery, I added vintage stars and stripes earrings! I found them at the junk store, cleaned them up and clipped them on. The flags I put at each setting were in drinking bottles that had rosettes attached and also included red, white and blue straws and a firecracker for after dinner!

A fun element I included was place cards. There werenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t many of us, but the kids loved seeing their names at their places! I found little tin boats at the junk store and I spray painted them gold and put them on top of a small flag with their names written in red sharpie. The flags were cut off a dollar spot bunting banner. The opposite side of the table was where I placed a small bar. Â Mini bourbon bottles in crystal cut glasses against the beautiful American flag. Pineapples in Paradise by Pineapple Paper Co.

hen our youngest daughter turned one, I knew I had to have a Lilly Pulitzer inspired party for her! As soon as I found out we were having another little girl, I bought several Lilly dresses for her, from tiny newborn sizes through toddler sizes. We still have a few she hasn’t even grown into yet! Like so many Lilly lovers, I love the bright color combinations and patterns! Those colors and patterns were the inspiration for our little one’s first birthday. The centerpiece of the dessert table was the amazing cake. I loved creating every detail on this cake. It was truly a labor of love. I accented the dessert table with adorable flamingo and pineapple cookies. Marshmallows dipped in candy melts were fun and yummy candy pineapples. The backdrop was created with a simple pink fabric, covered with a crisp white lattice. A beautiful floral wreath was hung in the center, and adored with a custom cut “one”. Bright honeycomb balls were hung on either side of the wreath for more pops of color! I love this party so much! I wish I had been able to take more photos throughout the party. Unicorns and Ice Cream Party by Carmen Navarro Designs

y client wanted this to be a party that truly represented her daughter and all the things she loves right now. The wonderful thing about themed birthday parties, is that they are like a mini time capsule, photos share the guest of honor’s interests and likes at that moment in time. Unicorns are all the rage lately, but incorporating ice cream into the theme made this party that much more fun and special. We used pastel colors throughout the party because the birthday girl prefers softer colors. Some details of my favorite details from this party are the balloon garland arched across the gorgeous dessert table draped with an eye catching sequined tablecloth. The amazing ice cream cake! The kids table, featuring “Cloud Fluff ” as seating! The soft sweet pastel color scheme, featured in the fun favors, and paper ware. And the unicorn headbands, as well as the darling custom unicorn dress on the birthday girl! This party was a joy to style, and the birthday girl’s smile was enough to light up a room! Big Dog birthday Party and Dog Bar by Frog Prince Paperie

ur family has a very special friend named Alex. Alex has a few special needs, but his mom never lets that stop him from doing all the normal things kids do—from surfing to running races to having super cool birthday parties with his family. The biggest members of Alex’s crew are his two dogs, Ace, a golden retriever, and Jovie, a black Newfoundland puppy. Yes, puppy. At the time of these pictures, she was not quite a year old! Alex’s eyes light up at the sight of his dogs, and they both love being near him. When we were chatting about party themes for Alex, we decided his dogs were the perfect thing to build a party around. After all, turning 15 means he’s finally one of the big dogs! The party was small so we kept our desserts to a minimum. Public Display of Confection made some yummy chocolate covered Oreos and For the Love Cake Co. made a bone shaped organic strawberry cake that was super yummy. A few furry friends were up for adoption for our guests—we popped the plush little puppies into tiny gable boxes we decorated in the preppy puppy theme. Who can resist eyes like those! Before there was cake, there was a DOG BAR. Yes! We laid out all kinds of hot dog toppings—chili, cheese, Fritos, baked beans, onions, sauerkraut, macaroni and cheese, cheese sauce, jalapeños, cole slaw and bacon along with some recipe suggestions to put together fun and unique hot dogs for lunch. We came up with some crazy and tasty combinations for sure. Alex and his mom, Kim, both live with life-threatening hemophilia, so every chance to celebrate a birthday is a great one. A superstar in her own right, Kim constantly advocates and educates about hemophilia, and can be frequently be seen out racing in the community with Alex in his specially made chair.
