Brief 1 : Yoke presents Dialogue
In the early stages of the project we collected all our thoughts and research into a research book, which later acted as a visual guide throughout the development of Dialogue.

Board 2 : Yoke identity
Dialogue Exhibition Logo
Together we finalised a name and a logo for our collaboration as well as a name and a visual identity for the exhibition. For the two to work together we decided that the collaboration should be a simple letterform symbol but still relate back to the of an exhibition. We felt the 'y' does this as it is made up of 3 shapes, these three shapes separately show the idea of walls and building things up to create an exhibit.
The name and theme of the exhibition is dialogue. We wanted to make the logo represent these features and be something that can stand alone on its own. The logo was created from a sourced typeface. Within the typeface there are speech marks that have been used to create a letterform. This gave the typeface another meaning and tied in perfectly with the theme of dialogue.

Board 3 : Exhibition space in Leeds
We spent a few days contacting galleries and various venues in Leeds to see if they were interested in hosting an exhibition. We sent them a brief outline of what we wanted to achieve, to see what their response was. These venues varied in size and price range which was interesting, especially for future reference. After visiting a few spaces the Corn exchange seemed the most promising. It is a beautiful building with intermit and charming shop spaces. We talked to the general management there and discussed our idea about a pop up shop / exhibition and cost. We discovered it would be ÂŁ100 to rent out a top floor space at the Corn Exchange for a week.

Board 4 : Brief & Proposal
To secure a space at the Corn exchange we put together a proposal as well as a brief that outlined the theme and specifications of the exhibition. We also sent the proposal form to the college in order to get some funding.

Below are some examples of our interpretation of the brief. In summary ‘submissions can take any form of the theme. It could reflect directly on past conversations, forms of interaction or it could spread further afield to what you think communication is today.' The designs were mixed, matched and manipulated through the process of screen printing. We intend to make them into post cards that will be sent out with the brief / promotional materials.

Brief 1 : Yoke presents Dialogue
The screen printed postcards were a success as we were pleased with how well our designs translated the brief and complimented one another. We experimented with a range of inks, including a fluorescent pink and yellow which we made into a gradient. We produced a large amound of prints, that we intend to send out to studios, as well as areas around the college campass.

6 : Invites
Our exhibition is about creating dialogue so we like the idea of using envelopes with a twist. For example the envelope below will be sewn around the edges so you have to make the conscious effort to tear it open. The attention to detail is great and it really engages a memorable mail shot. Inside the mail shot will a screen printed post card attched (through the use of slots)to a double sided leaflet outlining what Dialogue is, along with the specifications of the brief.
