We continue to maintain long term relationships with our clients which is testament to the level of service we provide. The ability to tailor our services to suit our clients’ needs has firmly established us as a market leader in this sector.

Distillery / Brewery Distilleries and Breweries are subject to strict public health legislation and safety standards. We have completed the Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection installations as well as BMS (Building Management System) to the highest standards in these ATEX Hazardous Areas for some of the world’s leading multinationals. Typical services include process, HVAC and pipe installations, MV/LV electrical works, cabling installation and programming and fire alarm and sampling systems. Bakery We have in depth knowledge of working in Bakeries which are ATEX Hazardous Areas meaning all works and final installations are subject to stringent safety and quality regulations. We have completed Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection works for a number of clients globally which have included manufacturing facilities, distribution centres and R&D centres.

Soft Drink Manufacturing Soft drink bottling or manufacturing involves five major processes, each with its own safety and quality issues that must be evaluated and controlled: treating water, compounding ingredients, carbonating product, filling product and packaging. Always ready for the next challenge In 2010 we expanded to the Middle East food and beverage market. Despite the extreme locations and challenging temperatures our projects were delivered to the same exceptionally high quality standards, safely and on time.

Food Processing & Manufacturing As new food and beverage processing equipment with complex and sensitive systems, controls and automation continues to evolve, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) are more essential now than ever. We have worked worldwide for some of the largest food processors and manufacturers in the world carrying out fast-track projects and maintenance works including shutdowns. Our focus is on tailoring our services to suit our clients’ needs. Confectionary Arguably the single biggest variable when it comes to confectionary production efficiency, cost saving and safety is equipment and utilities maintenance. We have a history of providing outstanding maintenance support ensuring our client’s facility operates at optimum performance. Cadbury is a leading confectionary brand throughout the world and has chocolate manufacturing facilities in Dublin and Kerry. We have been working with them for more than 50 years completing new projects and maintenance work including shutdowns.

Dairy Dairies are ATEX Hazardous Areas meaning all works and final installations are subject to stringent safety and quality regulations. Typical services we provide include design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of fire detection systems including employee training, pipework and HVAC installation, LV/MV installation, general and emergency lighting and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) installation. UPS systems safeguard against equipment damage, power interruptions, system errors and other power supply malfunctions that could compromise production, safety, or data.

Ensuring a quality production in a clean and safe environment

BIM As early adopters of BIM we have sought to remain at the forefront of the construction industry. Our BIM philosophy is based on LEAN principles meaning we are constantly integrating 360-degree feedback from the field improving both cost and time performance on all activities. Our approach involves constantly evaluating different BIM software versions, system applications and advancements in construction methods in order to offer the optimum solutions to our clients. By utilising the latest BIM modelling techniques and incorporating new self-established initiatives we have developed a reputation for overcoming challenges successfully. Through expert deployment of BIM solutions, our technicians ensure that projects make the transition from initial design to final execution as smoothly as possible. We have achieved Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 Certification for Design and Construction from BSI (British Standards Institution) which is testament to the knowledge of our staff and their capabilities. As well as this international standard we have been presented with a number of awards over the years recognising our innovations in this area. With fast-track schedules and increasing project complexities becoming the standard in our industry you can rest assured we will be utilising BIM to achieve efficiencies while delivering greater value.

Modular and Bespoke Manufacturing Our Modular manufacturing facility was set up in 2019 as we recognised a change toward a more efficient process for our customers. Our 9,000m2 production facility ensures that we can Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), install and deliver modules from small to large scale projects. Our location in Carlow gives us the benefit of being close to two ports allowing us to economically ship across the globe. Specialist Rigging Our Rigging division specialises in the lifting, installation and relocation of industrial plant and equipment for many of the world’s leading multinational, major utility and manufacturing companies. We work in live facilities and plants where safety and attention to surrounding production is paramount. We can offer a full equipment relocation package suited to our client’s needs which covers: De-Install, Crating, Transportation, Relocation, Installation and Mechanical and Electrical Hook Up.

Sustainable goals are a catalyst for our continuous cycle of improvement

Quality Our approach to quality assurance is project specific and customer orientated underpinning our reputation as a leading International Engineering Contracting Group of companies. Don’t take our word for it; this is evidenced by 80% of our work being repeat business with existing clients as well as our Quality Management Systems being certified to internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 standard. We measure, we check, we adjust, we improve. Then we check again. Environment We believe sustainable goals can serve as a catalyst for a continuous cycle of improvement which is why we take our role in environmental planning so seriously. We recognise that we have an important part to play in protecting and enhancing the environment for future generations and to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the construction industry. There has been a global realisation that current development models are unsustainable and we are committed to embedding sustainability into the core of our activities.

We are accredited to internationally recognised ISO 14001 Environment Management System (EMS) a systematic framework to manage the immediate and long term environmental impacts of an organisation’s products, services and processes. Of course we don’t stop there. We work together at all levels to develop the correct attitude, practise and work habits, to ensure that we are continually improving our Environmental performance. Lean Innovation has been an ever present word here at Jones Engineering from our earliest days. It is said that Harry O’Neil invented the compression fitting but failed to patent it. It is no surprise therefore that we have been applying LEAN principles for many years and recognising the benefits it brings to our firm, our clients and the industry as a whole. We have invested significantly in LEAN training with over 160 personnel trained in the University of Limerick to date up to and including Masters level. This commitment has fostered our dynamic, knowledge driven and customer focused concentration on eliminating waste and creating value.

80% of our business is repeat work with existing clients

A large percentage of our work is repeat business with existing clients. This is testament to the excellent quality of workmanship and service provided by Jones Engineering. “We appreciate all the long hours, design assistance and construction restraints your team has been diligently willing to work on and around.” “...extremely professional and organized in relation to the works requirement whilst keeping the project adequately resourced leading to a very successful outcome for the client... We would have no hesitation in recommending”

“...could not have been a more helpful or professional team who certainly helped and contributed to bringing solutions rather than problems to the table... the feedback from the Client is that the building exceeds their expectations.”

Quality Work Through Quality People

Very few firms remain in business long enough to celebrate their centenaries, but thanks to our best practise we have surpassed this milestone. Our original company was set up by Harry O’Neill in 1890 and to this day we have continued his vision of prioritising education, training and innovation. We believe in Engineering Through People. Our core values of recruiting, nurturing and developing the best people have been a cornerstone of our Group’s development. We are very much a people business in which opportunities are realised, challenges are met and success is driven by teams of some of the best people in the industry. We were the first contractor to have its graduate training programmes recognised by Engineers Ireland as a route to Chartered status. We are the only firm in the world to have won the world skills competitions twice in plumbing. Our ongoing commitment to training continues.

We have a tradition and culture of encouraging cooperation and partnership not just with our clients but within the community while also promoting culture, health and wellbeing in both the workplace and the marketplace. We sponsor local teams, run charity events and in recent years have been involved in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) Engineering-in-a-Box programme inspiring primary school children through fun and engaging learning as well as providing a team of volunteers to work with the ESB on Down Syndrome Cork’s Field of Dreams. People are at the core of our best practise initiative. As Chris Jones once said ‘As a large employer, you still have to recognise the humanity in everyone’. This is why we are the contractor of choice and 80% of our Business is repeat work with existing client.
